Awakening the Wind

Part 1: The Shrine

It was late afternoon, the sun was hot, the sun filtered through the canopy of leaves which were rustling gently in the gale. I stood there watching these leaves, my mind fully concentrated upon the green foliage. I watched one particular leaf bend and sway within the grasp of the wind. I took deep, even breaths, relaxing my feline frame. I reached out for the leaf and touched it. Suddenly the leaf shuddered at my touch, and suddenly a sheet of ice began to wrap around it like a serpent about to enjoy its meal, the ice swallowed the life out of the leaf, and then it began to spread. The leaves of the tree suddenly lost their emerald green hue, and began to turn gold and red as the frost had them clutched in their deathly grip. The entire tree suddenly froze solid which made me sigh. I rose up from my knees, and gazed down the path. The trees grew so close to each other on both sides of the path that it made it almost look like a tunnel of leaves which swayed in the wind. I was glad that the tree I touched was the only tree that wasn't infected by my power. My ears flick gently as I hear the sound of hoof beats echoing upon the ground. I knelt down upon my knees and placed my ear to the ground. Suddenly the thundering hooves grew louder and louder, once I gazed up before me I saw a large feral black stallion standing before me, his nostrils flared, the reins that were in its mouth were pulled gently causing the stallion to raise its head slightly .

"Who are you?" Inquired its rider, a pair of eyes gazing upon me through the helmet. The man before me was covered in nothing but armor which didn't give me a chance to see what he was, but his voice sounded more canine then it did feline, I pause a moment before responding to h

"And who wishes to know?" I ask, my eyes looking upward at the feral horse's rider.

"The king of these lands," The canine's voice barked, yes definitely canine, that sealed my proposition

"The King of course," Said the canine looking up at me with curious eyes, which then were directed towards the frozen tree. "Did you do this?"

I bit my lower lip, I knew that showing off my powers would attract unwanted attention, but I was practicing on controlling them, specially after what had happened to my father's kingdom, it took me forever to find another land that didn't have winter. "What if I said I stumbled upon it?" I inquired.

"Which means you didn't do it, and that a Witch or Wizard had done so?" Inquired the canine, I could easily tell that the feeble minded canine was buying my alibi, this caused me to slightly smirk, but not so much to draw attention to the knight.

"Very well then sir, however if you do possess magical qualities I would ask of you to keep them to yourself, must of the citizens around this place aren't accustume to magic users," Said the knight.

I give a nod of my head in response.. "Then I shall be on my way then?"

"That wasn't the only thing sir," Said the Knight removing his helmet at last, revealing what he was. Once the helmet was gone, the face of a gray wolf appeared. He was rather attractive, he had fine smokey fur surrounding his entire muzzle and chest, his eyes were of an emerald hue. He contained a rather cruel scar upon his right eye. if not upon the horse the wolf would have stood a good 5'6 which was slightly taller then myself.
