Jason smiled as he continued to wipe down the previously used table. Memories and images flashed before his mind as he thought about his time with Ken a few days ago. The shepherd had been so sweet and caring in their time together, it sent exhilarating shivers down his spine. His family seemed nice too, he had gotten to meet Ken's cousin, grandfather, siblings, his mother and hi aunts and uncles. None of them given the husky any strange looks, or wondered why he was there, in fact, they seemed to enjoy his company.

Jason thought about him and Ken. Did this make them a couple? They did sleep with each other, and met his family. Jason stopped scrubbing the table for a moment as realization dawned on him. Now that he thought about it, he'd already gotten into this further than he originally had hoped. He wasn't ready for a relationship, not after his marriage and divorce...

The silhouette of the German shepherd crossed Jason's mind, causing his heart to skip a beat and a smile creep back on his face. He continued rubbing down the table as he quietly began to sing a song that he'd heard on the radio when Ken had brought them to the beach; Is It Love? by John Denver.

I know what it means to get caught up in dreams And in prayers that are answered with each passing day When loving and laughter are birds of a feather And sharing and caring is one simple way...

"Jason?!" a voice interrupted his song. He turned to see Jasmine and Hayley standing behind him with wide excited eyes. "Are you smiling?!" Jasmine squealed.

"And singing!" Hayley pointed out.

Jason rolled his eye. "You said yes! I can't believe you went out with him! Ohmygawdthisisamazing!"

"Neither can I..." Jason mumbled at he turned to continue washing his table. The table was already well over clean, he was just hoping that the girls would leave him alone, but they didn't.

"Well it must have went well, I haven't seen you smile, let alone sing a song, in yeaaaaarrrrsssss!" Hayley leaned in and lowered her voice. "You had sex with him, didn't you?"

Jason glared at her, but didn't say anything.

"Oh my god you did!"

The husky walked past the girls and made his way back to the kitchen. Greg looked up from his grill to grin at Jason. "So how'd your date go?"

Jason chucked his dirty rag at the Great Dane as he chuckled and let the rag hit him without any concern. "Shut up, Greg..." the husky glared at Greg for a moment longer before turning to wash his hands at the kitchen sink. He heard the sound of the bell ringing at the door, indicating that someone else had just walked into the diner.

"Hey wait," Jasmine's muffled voice said from behind the door. "Sir! You can't go back there!"

Jason turned to the door in curiosity just in time to see the familiar black panther burst through the door. "Henry?" Jason gasped, turning his whole body as the panther drew nearer. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"We need to talk!" he said, grabbing the husky by his shoulder.

Jason tried to wriggle out of the larger males grasp with little success. "Let me go!"

"Not until you listen to me!" he spat.

"Hey!" Greg barked so loudly that everyone in the entire dinner had no trouble in hearing him and looking up with confusion. The large great date walked over to Henry, who was a good head or so shorter. "Leave the boy alo-"

"Stay out of th-" Henry never got to finish his sentence as he was hoisted into the air by his shirt, dangling from Greg's immense fists a few feet off the ground.

Greg's ears flattened as he snarled at Henry, nose to nose. "Don't you DARE tell me to stay outta this! This is MY kitchen, and YOU are not welcome here!" with that, and one great heave, Greg sent the panther flying out the door through the air. He landed his a painful thud as he slid a few more feet until his head banged against the wall on the other side of the diner.

Greg was already closing the distance between them before Henry could register what had just happened. The great dane was yelling at him to get out when he scrambled to his feet and slid over until his back was against the door. He looked past the menacing dog and into the eyes of Jason. "This isn't over Jason!" he said as he backed out the door and made his way for his car. The wheels on his vehicle screeched as he zoomed out of the parking lot and down the street.

Greg sighed and shook his head. He turned back to Jason and patted him on the shoulder. "You okay?"

Jason nodded, dropping his eyes to his feet. "Yeah. Thank you, Greg," he placed a hand on Greg's chest. "I think I'm going to take the rest of the day off..."

Greg looked over to Jasmine and Hayley, who were both nodding. "That's okay, you come back whenever you feel. You can take the week off for all I care, just try and figure things out, okay?"

Jason looked over to the panther and smiled. They both lay in bed together naked, the bright morning sun shining and illuminating the small apartment room. He traced a finger over one of Henry's many tattoos on his chest before he leaned in to kiss the panther warmly. They bother laughed when their kiss broke.

Jason whipped the tears away from his cheeks as he walked down a path in the park. People all around skated, walked by, talked, ran, had picnics and so on, many with couple. Jason hated feeling like this; sorry for himself and whiny, he couldn't stand it. He let out a sighed, whipping his memory away with the last tear.

He looked at his phone to check the time; 3:23 pm. "Hey!" A familiar voice called from behind him. Jason turned to see a tall shepherd with a camera up to his eye. Click! Jason blinked as the camera lowered to revile Ken's smiling face. "Beautiful," he said winking.

"Are you following me?" Jason asked, forcing a small laugh and looking the shepherd up and down. He was wearing blue jeans and a white shirt with a vest on and a white and black fedora hat. It was a new look for him, at least to Jason it was.

"Maybe a little," he said, walking closer. "For about forty seconds anyways. So what brings you here?"

Jason shrugged. "Ohhhhh nothing... just wondering around." He said, patting his legs as he looked around at the passing people. "What about you?"

"Eh, I got bored and wanted to take some pictures," he lifted his camera to his eye and took another picture of Jason. "Like that."

"Stoooop," Jason laughed, gently pushing the camera away from his face.

"Why?" Ken chuckled. "You're really cute, and I like taking pictures of you! I'd bet you'd be a good poser."

Jason paused for a moment before folding his hands under his chin and batting his eyelashes jokingly. "You think so?"

Ken took another picture. "Absolutely adorable," they both laughed for a moment and there was silence. Ken looked around for a moment, then smiled down at Jason. "You busy?" Jason shook his head. "Wanna go for a walk?"

Jason thought about it for a moment. "Yeah, I'd love too. I could use the company."

Ken smiled again as he turned his head over his shoulder. His brought his fingers to his lips before he let out a loud, ear piercing whistle.

Two small heads popped out from around the trunk of a tree; a wolf and Dalmatian, with their ears perked as Ken had their full attention. The shepherd beckoned them over, and as they stepped out from behind the tree, Jason realized that the wolf was Kyle, Ken's cousin's son, but, he didn't recognize the Dalmatian. He was a young boy, the Dalmatian, Jason guessed to be about six or seven. His white fur was dotted with dark chocolate spots, one large one covered his left eye. Both of his flopping ears were dark brown as well. "Hey, where's Jerry?" Ken asked the boys.

"He said he'd be right back," Kyle said. "You know how he is; always running off."

Ken nodded in agreement. He looked back to Jason and gestured to the Dalmatian. "This is Oliver, by the way." He said, rubbing a hand on the top of the boys head. "He's the neighbor boy."

"Nice to meet you," Jason said as he bent over to the boy's eyelevel.

"It is nice to be meeting you too." He said. A thick German accent covered his voice, catching Jason by surprise for a moment. "Kyle and Jerry have talked much about you,"

Jason stood back upright and glanced over to Ken. "I seem to be a very common topic in your house."

Ken scratched his ear sheepishly. "What can I say? You're fun to talk about, and the family seemed to really like you."

"There is Jerry," Oliver pointed to a crowd of people huddled around a playing street band. Now that the Dalmatian had pointed them out, Jason could hear the sound of their music excited music. He had not noticed them a moment ago.

Ken started walking in the direction of the playing band. "C'mon," he called. As they drew nearer, Jason could start to make out the lyrics.

"I had a dream so big and loud, I jumped so high I touched the clouds! Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oooohhh!"

As he listened, he realized that the song that the band was playing was a famous song on the radio.

"I streached my hands out to the sky, we danced with monsters through the night! Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oooohhh!"

Jason found himself in the crowd, watching a young possum lady danced around in front of the band. The people around started clapping to the beat, and soon, so was Ken.

"I'm never gonna look back, (WHOA!)

I'm never gonna give it up, (NO!)

Please don't wake me now..."

There was a pause in the music, the dancing, and the clapping for a moment. Then the song began again.

"Woo, Woo-oo-oo-oo-oo!

This is gonna be the best day of my li-i-ife,

My li-i-i-i-i-i-i-ife!"

The dancer made her way over to where Jason and Ken were standing. She lingered for a moment before taken Ken by the hand and pulling him into the open space where she had been dancing. Jason smiled as he watched the two dance goofily to the music.

"Woo, woo-oo-oo-oo-oo!

This is gonna be the best day of my li-i-ife,

My li-i-i-i-i-i-i-ife!"

"Woooooo!" Ken threw his head back, panting as the group of five made their way through the park. "That was fun, you should have joined in." He said, nudging Jason's arm.

The husky shook his head. "Nah, it was a blast watching you two."

"I had no idea you could move like that, Mr. O'Riley." Oliver chimed in. Jason wondered who he was talking to, when he realized that he didn't know Ken's last name, until now, that is.

"Hey Oliver, what time did your mom want you home by?" Ken asked as he pulled out his phone to check the time and a few ignored messages.

"Three," the boy said, kicking a stone that narrowly missed Jerry's bushy swinging tail. "She says that my father is wanting to see me..." Oliver's demeanor seemed to drop as he spoke. Jason could feel that something might have been off between the boy and his father, but then again, he could just be getting disappointed because he would have to leave soon.

"The we better get going soon, its two forty already." Ken stuffed his phone back into his back pocket as all three of the young boys sighed a disappointed sigh. Ken looked to Jason. "You're more than welcome to come with us,"

Jason thought about it for a moment. It would be nice to see Ken's family again and maybe try and meet everybody there (even if it was somewhat of a longshot), but something told him that he should wait this time. "That's okay," he said, shaking his head and getting a disappointed look from Ken. "But, if you maybe want to come over for dinner later, that'd be fine with me."

Ken's wail began to wag. He nodded and pulled Jason closer by the waist before he planted a warm kiss on his cheek. "I'll be looking forward to it."

Jason quietly sang the song he had heard earlier with Ken and the kinds in the park as he prepared dinner. Ever since he had gotten home, he had been cooking and cleaning, trying to make the place look and smell nice for the arrival of the shepherd. He had told Ken to come around six fifteen, six forty, just so he would have enough time to get everything ready, including taking a quick shower and putting on some nicer clothes, which had still yet to be done.

The floors had been vacuumed, the windows and mirrors whipped down, dishes washed (most of them, anyways). He still had a few things to pick up, but everything seemed to be going just fine, and it was only five thirty.

He looked around in his small kitchen. Most of the food was done already, except for the dish in the oven, but he had set that on low so he wouldn't have to worry about it burning while he went to take a shower. He washed his hands before setting off to his room. His room was small, but big enough to hold a queen size bed and two night stands on both sides. To the right was a door that leads to his bathroom and to the left was the door to his closet.

Jason continued to sing to himself as he strode into his small bathroom. He didn't bother closing the door all the way as he striped his shirt and pulled down his pants. He dug his thumbs under the waistband of underwear when he paused to look at himself in the mirror. His light blue fur seemed to sparkle in the bathroom's lighting, his thin figure made him look almost fragile, but desirable. He felt like a brand new person ever since he had met Ken, but all he saw was the face and body he had been born with.

He pulled down his underwear and kicked it off to the side. He briefly admired the curl in his tail before he started the water for his shower. He waited for a moment to let the water warm up and then stepped in. He let the water run down and under his fur, inhaling the warm moist air and tried to relax. This is the first day that Ken would be over at his apartment. The shepherd had come to pick him up, but hasn't ever set foot in his room before.

He wasn't nervous, maybe a little jittery or excited, but not nervous. He was also curious, he kept thinking about Henry and why he wanted so desperately to talk with him. He wanted to know what Henry wanted, but didn't want to talk to the panther at all. He thought about it a moment longer before concluding that he could live without knowing what Henry wanted.

Jason washed the fur all over his body and washed the soap out. He shut the water off and stepped out of the shower. He quickly dried himself off with his towel before he wrapped it around his waist. He plugged his hair dryer in and turned it on, feeling with warm air rush onto his face and neck. It took him a good half out to completely dry out his fur, and twelve long minutes to comb down his now bushy fur and brushed it to make it look nice. He threw on some deodorant, and cologne, but not too much to hid the soap scents. He stepped out of his bathroom and back into the bedroom. He made his way to his closet and opened the door, reviling a rack with shirts hanging randomly above a small dresser that held his underwear and pants.

Picking out something to wear proved to be rather difficult. He wasn't sure whether to go with the formal date look, or casual date look. He threw on a pair of underwear and grabbed a dark blue button up shirt. He bent down to open his pants drawer and rummage through until he found a tight, starchy pair of black jeans. He threw his cloths on and checked himself in the mirror. He unbuttoned his shirt a bit until the tuft on the fur on his chest was just visible and rolled up his sleeves. There, he thought to himself. Done.

He checked the digital clock sitting next to his bed. 6:19 pm. Any minute now...

Three firm knocks illuminated the silent apartment room. Jason smiled inwardly as he made his way to the door. He could stop his tail from wagging as he opened the door to see a tall waiting shepherd holding a bouquet of white roses. He wore a pair of black khakis with a white button up shirt, much like Jason. "H-hi," Ken said, his eyes lowing to Jason's partially exposed chest. His cheeks turned a slight red as he looked back up to Jason's ocean blue eyes.

"Hey, c'mon in." Jason stepped to one side and allowed Ken to walk in. He took a moment to scan the room before he looked back to Jason as he closed the door.

"Nice place you have here." He said, handing the husky the bouquet of roses.

Jason took the flowers and sniffed them slowly. He loved the smell of roses. "Thank you, how did you know I liked roses?"

Ken shrugged. "Wild guess."

Jason giggled and sniffed them again. "They're beautiful, thank you." He took the shepherd by the hand and pulled him further into his apartment. "Come on, make yourself at home, dinner's almost ready."

He let go of Ken's hand and walked into his small kitchen. He reached up into the cabinet and pulled down a clear glass vase. He filled it with water at the sink and set the roses in carefully. He then placed them on the little island separating the kitchen from the living room. "Do you need help with anything?" Ken asked, walking up to the island and leaning on it.

"Nah," Jason waved him off as he bent over to pull a pan covered with aluminum foil out of the oven with pot holders on his hands. "Hope you like beef, potatoes and carrots." He set the dish down in front of Ken and peeled the foil off the top to revile a sweet smelling aroma of potatoes carrots and chopped up steak bathing in sauce at the bottom of the pan.

"Mmmm," Ken breathed in the scents and smiled. "Smells heavenly."

"Tastes better," Jason cooed. He picked the dish up again and made his way to the table. "Would you mind grabbing the plates from that cabinet up there please?" he asked, nodding towards one of his cabinets.

Soon the table was set and dinner was served. They talked and laughed throughout the entire meal, sharing stories and food recipes and talking about their day. Jason had told him about Henry's surprise visit at the dinner earlier in the day and how Greg had thrown him out, literally. That seemed to spark a bit of irritation in the shepherd that Jason had not seen before, but thought it was somewhat cute to see him getting a bit upset at Henry for doing something like that.

They continued to talk and talk until Jason noticed the time. It was already 11:32 pm. and Ken had already said that he had work tomorrow. The shepherd sighed. "Well, uh, I guess I should get going. Getting kinda late."

Jason frowned. He didn't really want Ken to leave. "Well," Jason said as he thought of something. "You don't have to leave. I wouldn't mind you staying the night. I did invade your house one night, remember?"

Ken shrugged. "I don't want to intrude."

Jason laughed. "Intrude on what?" he gestured his arm around his small apartment. "I'm all by myself in the room. I'd love the company."

Ken looked down, seeming to think about it before he looked back up and smiled. "Alright, if you insist."

Jason smiled.
