Meadows
A short story about the mind.
I wasn't having the best day.
Sunshine. Soft grass between my toes. Sweet tea on a summer afternoon.
It's funny where the mind escapes to when the body is unable to flee.
As the last one leaves, my body is unceremoniously left on the bed, beaten and bare. Breathing hurts. Everything hurts.
It's quiet, now. My mind guides me through gentle meadows, away from this hell.
