His heart crawled into his throat as he quickly reached into his pocket to silence it. His suddenly sweaty paws had a hard time getting into his pocket due to the position he was sitting in. He finally got it in and gripped his phone and pulled, and as he did he felt, not heard, the heavy footfalls of something heavy pounding its way towards his room. He looked at the screen and quickly tapped "ignore" to the person he tried to contact earlier, his mom.

The sounds of heavy breathing and grunts were getting closer and closer and soon sounded like they were feet away from the door, and then right outside, and then right past. Matt stared into the darkness of the cabinet just listening to the sounds of this thing running down the hall away from him. He couldn't believe his luck and considering his situation, he was grateful.

Shaking, he looked back at his phone for the time.

"Eight o' clock, I left home an hour ago."

Home. That word alone was enough to make him tear up. He would give up anything he owned to back at home to his parents, that care for him and love him, and he loved them back with all his heart no matter how much they pissed him off. He went to his text messages and sent his mom a message, hopefully it wasn't his last, I'll be home soon. He then wiped the small tear out of his eye and gathered his strength.

He silenced his phone, locked it, put it back in his pocket and looked in the direction of the cabinet door. He put his paw on the door and pushed slowly, ever so slowly. When it stood fully open, he sat there for another two minutes, still not being able to move, just listening to the silence. He took a couple of deep breaths and crawled out as quietly as he could, taking a full minute to finally get to his feet.

He grabbed his phone again, and went to his flashlight app. Finally being able to see properly, he looked at the part of the ceiling he would to have had to fall through to get here, just like he thought, no indication he went through it, what the hell.

He scratched his chin and looked at the door. A dark colored plank of wood was the only thing blocking his way to the hallway and most likely was the only thing keeping whatever was out there away from him.

He walked over to it and toyed with the idea of opening it and just running in the first direction he decides on and not stopping till he found some sort of exit. That probably wasn't the best of ideas though and quickly deleted it from the few ideas he had in mind for his current predicament. He locked it and turned around to think of something else.

"Maybe this puddle of dried blood was some kind of key to leaving, maybe it is but I don't think it's the way you want to go. I could try to moving the ceiling tiles to see if something's above them, yes you could, but only if you were a few feet taller. I could just find something sharp and end everything."

That last idea was enough to make him stop thinking about how to leave from inside the room; his only option was to leave this doctor's office.

Great grandma

The song from her funeral was playing somewhere in the distance, but why? He went over to the door and put his ear on the cold wood. Yes, someone nearby was playing that song on A piano. He only knew it because his 9 year old cousin played it at her funeral and he knew he'd never forget the haunting tune of whatever song it was.

Was there someone trapped in another room? No, the thing responded almost instantly to his phone going off, the same should have been said about the music. That was his first destination then, to find who or whatever was making the song play.
