Kitsune walked into a bookstore, feeling extremely out of place in such a big town. He figured at least a bookstore would feel closer to home. He made a straight shot to the fantasy section.

Meanwhile, Javier, a tall dark blue caracal looked around over his stacks of books for a cafe'.

Kitsune was too preoccupied to notice Jav walking towards him from the side. They collided in the middle of the aisle.

"Wagh!"

Jav hit the floor with a squeal "Ohshitsonofabitch!" he looked around, embarrassed.

Kit immediately jumped to his feet, blushing horribly. "I-I-I'm sorry... I didn't see-" He cut himself off to look at all the books on the floor, and finally looked at Javier. He felt like asking a question, but thought the better of it.

"Ouch...nah, it's okay. I wasn't looking..." he trailed off, noticing Kit. "Erm....hi." Jav stood up, and started picking up his books.

Kit suddenly snapped back to reality. "Oh, geez... let me help you with that..." he started to help Jav pick up the books.

Jav glanced at Kit and noticed that he was cuter than the average fox. "Sorry about smashing into you...by the way, I'm Jav."

"..." Kit glanced up and finally took a good look at Jav instead of spacing out, realizing he looked great. He blushed a little, hoping it wasn't too obvious. "My name's Kit... Nice to meet you... and it was my fault, right?" He chuckled shyly and straightened his glasses.

"Hey, I was the one spacing while walking." Jav smiled. "And nice name...is it short for anything?"

"Yeah, it's short for Kitsune. Weird name for a country kid."

"Huh...my name's just short for Javier. It's French...and stupid-sounding. I envy your name. One of my friends is Japanese." He flipped his hair out of his face. "Hey, I was going over to that cafe' to grab a latte or something. You want to come with? They have really good donuts..."

Kit faltered a little, wondering what the chances were of that happening "Um... sure... I suppose I could." He smiled, pulled his hair out of his eyes, which revealed a diamond stud in his left ear.

Javier noticed the earring and somehow felt subconscious about his eyebrow piercing "Alright, then. Come on." He started walking out of the store, giving Kit a good view of his rear and fluffy tail.

Kit was almost mesmerized by the view, though he tried very hard to hide it. He had to keep on guard to make sure that he wasn't caught peeking, and after a lot of practice he had gotten pretty decent at it. The mall was packed with all sorts of people, however, and he never knew when people might start whispering...

Kit's sensitive hearing caught some snippets of conversations, and he sighed, saddened by what he heard.

"Hey, look over there-" "Is that guy-" "He's staring at-" "Eww...is he gay?"

Jav reached the cafe, wagging his tail a little at the smell of coffee "Ah, nothing like a hot cup of Colombian bean juice."

Kit followed, wagging his tail as well.

Jav walked up to the counter "Hey Mark, could I get a mocha latte and a smile?" he said, subtly hinting at his gayness.

Kit caught the hint, but kept it to himself. "There's no way that he'd...I better just ignore it." He thought.

"Maybe I'll just have the special blend..." Kit thought aloud, then repeated what he said "Special blend of the day for me, please."

The guy behind the counter started preparing the drinks, and Jav looked at Kit "So, apart from making people fall over, what're you doing in the mall?"

Kit fiddled with a hematite pendant around his neck before he heard the question, and his ears drooped a little. "Uh... I just moved here from another place... I feel so out of place here, though, and I thought the bookstore would make me feel better."

"Oh, I see. I was born here, never left much, and I probably never will leave. Hey, let's get a table while we're waiting."

"Sure, why not?" Kit smiled faintly as he walked over to one of the tables strewn throughout the front of the café. He sat down on one of the chairs.

Jav sat down across from him. "I never really was one for small talk, so, how about you tell me what's on your mind? I can tell you're thinking of something..."

Kit grimaced a little. "Erm... well... there're many reasons I left my home town, but there's one in particular... everyone there used to pick on me for..." Kit trailed off, wishing he could say it but didn't have the courage.

Javier looked at him, concerned. "For what?" Below the table, he shifted his footpaw close to Kit's.

"For... not wanting to get married... to a woman." It was obviously painful for him to try and say it, but he forced himself to.

Jav's gaze faltered and his eyes widened for a second, but he resumed his composure. "I know how that feels." He put his paw on Kit's arm.

Jav's touch instantly made Kit feel better. "... Thanks... I guess I needed to say it sometime... Maybe it's for the best that I left my home."

Jav smiled and looks into Kit's eyes briefly. "I think so too." He seemed like he was about to say something, but was cut off by Mark's announcement of their coffee's being ready.

"Hmm... smells good!" Kit said as his tail started to twitch again, a long smile drawn on his face.

Jav stepped up and strolled to the counter, the prospect of coffee filling his mind.

Kit's mind was bursting with conflicting thoughts. "He's cute!" "So?" "He said he knows how I feel..." "But that doesn't mean he's like you!" "He seems like it!" "Fine. We'll see..." His argument was cut off by Jav's return.

Jav drunk down some of his and wriggled a little at the instant warmth. "Mmmm...I'm guessing that you love coffee too."

"It was one of the things I never had in common with everyone else in the town. Though most of them drank it they never really ENJOYED it like I do." Kit was beginning to warm up to Jav pretty well.

"Speaking of things not in common," Jav took a sip of his coffee and sighed. "I'm still picked on for the same reason as you." He looked right into Kit's eyes.

Kit nodded little as he took another drink of coffee, only for his eyes to widen as he almost choked on his drink. He swallowed hard and looked Jav in the eye. "Seriously? I... I didn't think..." He started turning red.

Javier laughed quietly. "Yes, seriously. And to be honest, I kind of..." his voice faltered, and he trailed off.

Kit was still blushing as he listened to Javier. As he trailed off, Kit couldn't help himself. "You kind of what?" Kit's tail was going nuts at that point, never one to try and control himself.

Jav blushed. "I kind of think you're cute..." he looked away from Kit, his face burning red.

You could have literally seen steam rising off of Kit, his glasses even fogged up a little. "Oh, my...!" Kit giggled uncontrollably, blushing just as brightly as Jav. "Um... I have to admit the whole time we were walking here... let's just say I wasn't exactly paying attention to where I was going." He continued to giggle.

Javier failed miserably at holding back giggles and tailwags. "I have that effect sometimes..." He perked up his ears, eager to hear Kit's response.

Kit looked Javier in the eyes, his blush almost reminiscent of an anime infatuation. "Heh... what can I say? Sometimes I can't help myself; you're just so... cute." Kit shrugged cooly while inside his mind he was practically bouncing off the walls. He had never been able to talk to anyone like this before.

"R-really? That's....great!" He downed the last of his coffee.

Kit smiled happily as he finished his coffee soon after Jav. His eyes shined a little as he set the cup down. "So, what else is there to do around here? I think it's about time I got used to living here, right?" he laughed playfully.

"Oh, there's certainly a lot of stuff to do...do you want to see a movie or something?" Jav noticed the gleam in Kit's eyes, and his smile widened.

Kit looked up grinning. "Sure, there weren't a lot of good movies back in my hometown... always some Disease-Of-The-Week sort of affair..." He stuck his tongue out in disgust at the thought of watching another movie like that, and laughed.

Jav smirked. "Alright, let's go to my car." He stood up and tossed a $5 on the counter to pay for the coffee.

Kit quickly followed Jav, happy for the first time in ages since he had left the town.

After walking down the mall corridor for a few minutes, they finally reached the parking garage. "Just a second..." Jav attempted to pull his car keys out of his pocket. "It's impossible to get anything out of these pockets...stupid skinny jeans." He finally extracted the key remote and clicked it a couple times. A black Mini Cooper flashed its headlights. "There we are!"

Kit giggled a little about the comment about his jeans. "Ah, but they look great on you...!" he blushed a little, and giggled again before getting in the passenger side of the car.

Jav slid into the driver's seat and clipped on the seatbelt. "Want to listen to the radio?"

Kit chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "Sure! I wonder if they have any good punk on right now..."

"Then I think you'll like this..." he punched the dial and twirled it until a burst of The Clash emanated out of the speakers.

Kit laughed as he heard Rock The Casbah. "I love this song! I used to listen to it all the time! Drove everyone crazy!" He smirked and bobbed his head along with the beat.

As they exited the garage, Kit relaxed and smiled joyfully.

Jav swung the wheel around, deftly whipping the car into a parallel parking spot.

"Learned that from The Italian Job." He turned off the car and exited.

After Kit found his heart and put it back in his chest, he exited the car, a little frazzled. "So, here we are...!"

Javier chuckled at Kit's light-headed-ness. "Come on, dizzy. Let's see what's showing here."

Kit followed Jav, a little wobbly, into the theater and looked up at the display screen of now playing movies.

Jav studied the board intently. "Hmm...Okay, we have the new Bond film, we have a couple comedies, and-ooh! They're re-showing The Bourne Ultimatum! I love that movie..." Jav looked at Kit. "What d'you want to see?"

"Hmm... there are a lot of good movies up there... Why not see Bourne? I almost missed the others... never shown in our theaters, but almost everyone flocked to it in the stores..." Kit said, chuckling and slowly regaining his composure.

Javier nodded. "Let's not get popcorn...it's overpriced and sometimes stale..." He walked up to the ticket counter.

"Fine by me. Never got it at the old folk's theater either..." He laughed once again as he tailed behind Jav, staring at his tail again.

Jav leaned on the counter and stuck out his rear and tail, which made Kit blush again. "Two tickets for The Bourne Ultimatum, please." he laid a $10 on the counter and received the tickets. He handed one to Kit. "Come on, let's go." He said, then started strolling down the corridor.

Kit blushed slightly and got a little giggly as he followed Jav into the corridor, imagining what to expect from the rest of the day.

Javier opened the theater door and climbed the stairs to about the middle row. He chose a seat in the middle, for ideal viewing.

Kit plopped down in the seat just next to Jav, getting excited for the movie to start up and looking around at the other people in the theater below their row.

As the film started, Jav looks at the screen intently, but was still aware of Kit sitting next to him. He subtly moved a little closer toward Kit's seat.

Kit stared intently at the screen, practically entranced.

The movie went by in a blur, action onscreen intermingled with both Jav and Kit's attempts to get close to each other. At a particularly suspenseful part, Jav moved his hand onto the armrest of Kit's chair, touching his hand.

Kit was broken out of his trance-like gaze at the screen as he shot his eyes down at their hands touching. He smiled warmly, looking back at the screen.

When a surprise explosion flashed onto the screen, Jav flinched, and instinctively grabbed Kit's hand.

Kit jumped a little as he felt more pressure on his hand, and looked over at Jav comfortingly.

Jav turned his head toward Kit and smiled. Completely ignoring the movie, he started slowly leaning toward Kit.

Kit's eyes lit and he blushed, starting to move towards Jav, his eyes half closed.

As images on the screen dashed around, Jav moved in for a kiss. He closed his eyes and their mouths connected, sending Javier into rapture.

Kit's eyes fully closed as his tail stiffened out and started to wag, his mind in sheer bliss.

Jav murred into the kiss, and interlocked his fingers with Kit's. His tongue darted into Kit's mouth.

Kit moaned in response, moving his tongue in time with Jav's and lacing his fingers in-between Jav's as well. His tail wagged more and more.

Jav inhaled with his nose to prevent suffocation. He unlaced his fingers and put both arms around Kit's back, holding him tight.

Kit wrapped his arms around Jav's waist, murring again as they continued their kiss.

After what seemed like an eternity, they finally pulled apart. Jav whispered to Kit "I'm glad I met you." and hugged him, putting his head on Kit's shoulder

Kit sighed contentedly as he returned the hug "I'm glad I met you, too, Jav."

As they exited the theater, Jav grasped Kit's hand again. "I don't care what people say. We're together, that's all that matters." He kissed him lightly on the cheek

Kit seemed aglow with happiness as he cupped Jav's hand in his. "I agree! What does it matter as long as we're happy together?" He said as he kissed Jav on the side of the neck.

They proudly walked out of the theatre, ignoring the insults said by highschoolers and the disapproving looks from adults. "So...do you want to see where I live?"

Kit gave it some thought before he answered. "Sure, its not like I have to be home at any time... actually, I still have to find a home after moving away so suddenly like that..." he chuckled awkwardly. "I was thinking of asking an old family tie for some help..."

"A relative?" Jav asked as they walked out to the car. "I thought you didn't like your family."

Kit looked back at Jav "Well, not my immediate family... but for some reason my grandparents and aunts and uncles seem much nicer than my actual parents." He shrugged as he continued on. "Not to mention I meant a friend of the family that left the town long ago... I heard they had moved close by here."

Jav slid into the Mini. "I'd like to meet him sometime." He shifted into reverse and backed out of the space, opening the door for Kit. "Come on, foxy."

Kit giggled slightly at the pet name Jav used and got into the passenger side of the Mini. "Sure thing!" He replied with a smile. Overhead, clouds began to darken and a slight mist started falling.

-TIMELAPSE-

Ding! "And here's my floor, the 28th." Javier stepped out of the elevator. "Well, come on!" he said to Kit, who was still admiring the view through the glass-plated side.

Kit tore his eyes away from the spectacular view and walked out of the elevator. "Heh, well, well... this is a nice place!" He said as he traipsed through the door.

As Jav entered the apartment, lights flickered on and revealed a kitchen and the large living room, complete with a wall of windows. "Ah...nothing like home..." he kicked off his shoes, walked over to the couch, and flopped down on it.

Kit was practically starry-eyed as he made his way over to the couch, sitting dangerously close to Jav and smiling broadly. "You have a great pad!" He said, and closed one eye.

Javier giggled. "Thanks! I won the money to get it in some contest." Suddenly, thunder boomed outside and lightning split the sky. Jav jumped and makes a small squeaky noise, his fur standing on end.

Kit laughed openly. "Scared of lightning?" He laughed again as he took hold of Jav's hand, trying to keep him calm. "Heh... This is the second time I've had to do this today..." He grinned warmly.

Jav exhaled, calming down and smoothing his fur. "I'm not scared of lighting...I love storms. That just scared the -shit- out of me!" he put his arm over Kit's shoulder. "So, what do you want to do?"

Kit exhaled heavily through his nose. "Hmm... I'm not too sure, actually." He said as he sidled closer to Jav so he can be more easily held. "What is there left to do, I wonder...?"

Javier grinned. "How about this?" He lunged forward and smooched Kit so hard he is pushed down onto the couch. A low murr came out of his chest.

Kit fell back on the sofa. "MMM!" He was caught off guard by the kiss, and murred as well.

Javier laid down on top of Kit, feeling his warmth and pulled out of the kiss. "Kit, I want to say something."

Kit blinked a couple of times, still feeling good from the kiss. "What's up?"

"I know we only met recently but...I can't help feeling this emotion...I-I think that I..." he trailed off, the words catching in his throat.

Kit cocked his head to the side, raising an eyebrow. He smiled expectantly, soundlessly egging him on.

Javier looked directly into Kit's eyes and mouthed the words 'I love you.'

Kit's face immediately shot to fire engine red as he read Jav's lips. His eyes were beginning to water; he was so excited and embarrassed. "Oh my!" His emotions took over and he kissed Jav repeatedly before finally responding "I love you too Jav!" He smiled inbetween kisses.

Javier practically melted from all the love being returned to him. *murr* "And I know you love me..." he kissed Kit tenderly and fully, then put his arms around him

Kit wrapped his arms around Jav again, tightening their embrace and pulling their bodies together.

Jav continued holding on to Kit until he had to pull away to yawn. "I'm exhausted...I need to sleep." he smiled at Kit, hinting at something.

Kit blushed a little and chuckled, catching the hint. "Yeah... it has been a long day." He simply stated as he stretched a little and yawned widely, letting out a little mewl-like noise.

Jav stood up and stretched his arms. "Then...let's go to bed..." he started walking up the stairs to the loft.

Kit followed behind him, only smiling as he reached the top of the stairs.

Jav nonchalantly stripped off his shirt and pants until he was only wearing underwear. When Kit wasn't looking, he quickly readjusted himself so the tent in his boxers was less noticeable. "Come on, don't be shy." he slide slowly into the bed and sighed contentedly.

Kit began to blush heavily as Jav started to strip and whipped his head away at first. Then, after he stopped blushing, he fumbled with his double loop belt for a second before dropping his jeans on the floor and pulling his shirt over his head. "Heh..." He simply chuckled as he slid into bed next to Jav.

Jav felt Kit slide into the bed and smiled. "Good night..." he said, and moved right up against Kit.

As they drifted off into sleep, Kit found himself thinking "Happiness...is being with the one that you love..."
