Ch. 9

"We're off to see the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz," the voices of Dee-dee and Sam drifted into the still morning as the two, arm in arm, led the way out of the castle.

"I think Dee-dee has found a new best friend," Alex said to Panthramon and Violet.

"I think Patrick is thrilled with that statement," Violet said making the others laugh. At that moment, much to the annoyance of Patrick, Dee-dee and Sam were seeing who could meow the loudest and the longest.

"Would you two stop it?"

"Careful Patrick, if you keep screaming like that you'll loose your voice," Gabumon pointed out. Patrick shot him a 'shut up' look and returned to his attempts of quieting the two girls down.

"Hey Panthramon, would you like a house for you and Sam? I can build it here in this realm if you want. It will only take me a day,"

"I am sure Sam would be delighted. But we do need to go back at least, I need to go back," Alex was taken aback by the sudden seriousness of her attitude.

"Why must you go back?" Panthramon shrugged.

"It is hard to explain. I feel like there is something I need to see that is where I was born. It won't take long and you don't have to accompany me. But I would ask for you to keep Sam here, that area is far to dangerous for her,"

"I really don't think Sam is going to stay here," Violet pointed out.

"True. That's why I want us to go to the Digiworld and hopefully she'll be to busy hanging out with Dee-dee that she won't notice me slip away," Alex wanted to talk her out of it but they had arrived at the portal.

"Hurry up slow pokes!" Dee-dee yelled over at them as she and Sam disappeared. Patrick and Gabumon soon followed, Patrick looking highly annoyed with having to be so near the girls who main since of entertainment is torturing him. Panthramon smiled at Alex and Violet.

"I am sure Sam will be safe with you guys and I will return soon. There is just someone I need to see," and she disappeared through the portal.

"Why does this give me a bad feeling?" Violet asked.

"Don't worry. What happens will happen and all we can do is be ready for anything," and they both vanished.

Dee-dee and Sam appeared and Sam tripped over her own feet. "What a klutz," Patrick said as he and Gabumon appeared. Sam's eyes flashed and she kicked Patrick's legs from underneath him.

"Who's the klutz now?" she asked, standing up.

"Yes I think I disserved that," Dee-dee laughed as a small smile crossed Sam's face.

"You got that right," she stuck out her hand and helped him to his feet.

"Where did you learn how to do that?" Gabumon asked.

"A thief needs to know how to protect herself so Panthramon taught me some easy moves just in case she can't help me out,"

"What are you three doing?" Alex asked as he and Violet appeared.

"Three? Don't you mean five?" Patrick asked.

"Where's Snow?" Dee-dee asked, looking around.

"And Panthramon," Sam added. Alex and Violet exchanged looks, trying to figure out if they should tell the truth. But before they could say anything the ground began to shake. A cloud of bats appeared and started to coagulate into a Myotismon. Everyone heard an evil laugh as the last few features came into focus.

"Give me the necklace."

"No! You'll have to pry it out of my cold dead hands."

"That can be arranged, Crimson Lightn..."

Myotismon never finished his attack because Alex had crossed five feet changed into his dragon form and caught his hand in mid-swing.

"What the..."

" I will not allow you to hurt them. If you must fight you fight me." With that Alex hit Myotismon as hard as he could in the face sending the vampire digimon flying back a hundred yards.

"Why you basterd! I'll kill you for that. Grisly Wing!" a long cylinder of evil looking bats flew forth from Myotismon. Alex saw them coming and jumped sideways and teleported.

"Where did he go?" Myotismon asked. Suddenly he heard the distinct sound of swords being drawn from their sheathes and whirled around to see the tips of Alex's longbraod swords clearing their sheaths at his sides. Alex grinned at the look of fear in Myotismon's eyes and the trembling of his hands.

"Scared yet? Well you should be"

"What the hell are you?" Myotismon asked as he jumped back "Crimson Lightning" Myotismon's jaw dropped as Alex without any effort at all dodged the attack.

"Is that all you've got?" then suddenly Alex heard a pair of screams. He looked back and saw that Sam and Panthramon had been thrown back into the power lines. As they fell Alex's vision began to cloud with a red haze.

"YOU WILL DIE NOW... EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"

As Alex began to run towards Myotismon his tail slammed into Deardra sending her flying into Snow and knocking both of them back onto the now broken power line electrocuting them. Meanwhile Alex was oblivious to everything but the Myotismon in front of him.

"OH SHIT" was all Myotismon was able to say before he was stabbed through the chest and deleted. It took a good five minutes before Alex's Vision cleared and he had calmed down enough to remember that Sam had been hurt. He ran over to where she landed and saw that she and...Panthramon!? Were unconscious. He looked over and was shocked to see that Dee-dee and Snow were right beside them also unconscious. He picked all four of them up and carried them to a safe place away from the power lines. As he was setting them down Sam began to come to. It was then that Alex noticed that Sam had feline ears. Sam groaned "what happened?"

"uh Sam, don't look down"

Sam looked down and screamed with joy, for there twitching between her legs was her very own tail. Then she reached up to brush her hand through her hair and felt the black Feline ears that had grown upon her head. Again Sam screamed with delight. Just then Dee-dee began to come to, as she groaned Alex felt both shocked and scared for she had also sprouted feline ears and a tail. Unlike Sam, Dee-dee's ears were as white as snow, her hair had turned white and the fur on her tail was also white. Dee-dee sat up at that moment both Sam and Dee-dee looked at each other in shock. Alex was looking on in horror '5,4,3,2,1,' Alex thought quietly. Exactly on time both Sam and Dee-dee screamed.

"Oh my god , you have the cutest black ears."

"No, Your white ears are the cutest."

"you really think so?(blush)"

"Yes"

Sam heard a groan to her left.

"Panthramon, where the hell did you go?"

"Sam do not be upset I felt that I needed to go back to the place I was born" Panthramon sighed and her expression grew grave "I(sniff)They are gone all of them." She sobbed

"who's all gone? Where have they gone to?" Alex asked

"M-my family, my people, they have all b-been deleted!"

"(gasp) oh I'm soo sorry. Is there anything Violet or I could do to help?"

"N-No I arrived just as the last of them were deleted there was nothing I could do."

"Who did that, I will kill them!"

" it was a Ladydevimon."

"when I find her she's dead!"

"Guys, Alex just passed out help me move him!"

"damn he's heavy."

"I doubt even a giant could lift him"

"Jez, he needs to go on a diet!"

"I thought that Patrick weighed a ton"

"GABUMON!"

"(growl, snarl) just help me move him, I don't need the commentary!"

With a lot of effort They got Alex moved into the shade of the nearby trees.

"whew lets camp here tonight and tomorrow if Alex has come to we will go back to the mansion and discuss our plans for how to deal with these new developments."

There was a resounding "sounds good to me."

Ch.10 Home

The next morning Alex was suddenly thrust back into consciousness. He jumped up onto his feet and dropped into a fighting stance before he realized where he was. He shook his head to try and clear his thoughts.

" that dream felt so real, but how could I have been back in the land of the dragons?"

"what's wrong my love?"

"nothing go back to sleep dear."

"There is no way I am letting you off the hook that easily!"

Violets yelling woke everyone else up.

"what is all the yelling about?" Dee-dee muttered

"well Since we're all up let's head back."

The rest of the morning was enjoyed by all.

Alex built another mansion for Sam and cast enchantments on it so that any worldly possessions within can never be stolen and so that they would never run out of food. As the morning progressed Alex's sense of dread grew until finally at noon he had to go back to his birthplace.

"Guys I have to go back to the land of the Dragons I would allow you to accompany me but they do not take kindly to humans or digimon. Here Deardra take my digivice if you run into trouble do not hesitate to use it. And all of you STAY IN THIS DIMENSION. I'll be back as soon as I can. Goodbye and good luck."

With that Alex jumped into the air and flew away.

"Violet were does Alex keep his digimodification cards?"

"check the storage function."

"Oh here they are" Dee-dee said as a rectangular card holder materialized. "wow! he has them all organized and labeled... what's this one... vulpadragomon!? Who the hell is vulpadragomon?"

"Vulpadragomon is a digi fusion between Alex and I. Shi is a half dragon half fox digimon."

"Oh I see."

Meanwhile Alex was just landing 50 miles away in a patch of red dirt.

"well this is the spot" Alex muttered some unintelligible phrase and suddenly A large red sandstone arch appeared.

"here goes nothing" with that he walked through the arch. On the other side of the arch Mountains rose all around. Alex spread his wings and launched himself into the air. He turned to the north and flew along a path engrained into his brain. After a few minutes he turned right and landed in a large cave.

Before him was a large group of weeping dragons.

"whats going on?"he asked

"those basterds have killed the mighty silver dragon"

"What did you say!" Alex growled through clenched teeth his eyes already clouding with rage

the young dragoness who had spoken knew if she did not clam him down he would fly off to confront the killers and get himself killed. "calm down sir or you will be restrained, I don't want you to end up like my mother did flying to her doom while enraged."

Alex immeadeatly saw the wisdom in her words, and calmed himself "I will be back with help but you must promise not to cause them any harm for they are under my protection." with that he spread his wings and flew off into the distance.
