The House on Lonesome Hill

A story commission for FriskeCrisps, also the first time I've ever had a commission for anything. I never figured you silly people would be willing to pay for my smut ;3 Hehe. This was a fun one to write, and also gave me an opportunity to introduce my own character.

"I heard, the last owner was a crazy old man who made plushies out of anyone who came to his door!"

"Nuh uh! I heard it was used by a werewolf who went there every time there was a full moon! The furniture inside is all wrecked and stuff, 'cause the werewolf would break it!"

"No way guys, it was old man Havorford's place. He was a firefighter until one day he went crazy and tried to burn his own house down!"

"That's stupid, it's made of wood. If he tried to burn the house down it would be all charred and burned up."

"No stupider than your furniture hating werewolf!"

"He didn't hate furniture stupid, he was fighting the rage that dwelled inside his soul!"

"I'm still pretty sure it was the plushie guy."

"Whatever, I dare you to go up to the door!"

"No way dude, I don't wanna get turned into a plushie!"

"Don't worry, you're not a table or a chair, the werewolf won't bother you."

"Shut up dude, I dare Crisp to do it!"

"Yeah Crisp, big frady pup, I bet you'd never go knock on the door."

"No no dude, dare him to spend the night there!"

"Yeah, haha, Crisp, I triple super duper dog dare you to spend the night in the old haunted house on lonesome hill."

Three cubs stood together, jeering down at the timid wolf pup kneeling down and tying his shoes. Crisp laid his ears back and looked back up at them. "Common guys, that's not fair." he said softly up to his teasing friends. Crisp was always at a disadvantage like this. He was only 10 years old, younger than most of his friends. They always made fun of him because he was smaller and his magic wasn't as developed as theirs was.

The house they were talking about had always been a bit of a mystery in their neighborhood. It was old and battered, with flaking paint and a sagging roof. It had been there as long as any of them knew, or even their older brothers and sisters. It had never been occupied, real estate agents never tried to sell it, and construction companies never tried to bulldoze it. It was just this old scary house, built far up on a hill away from the other houses.

They called it Lonesome Hill, because the house was the only thing on it, all lonesome by itself. There were no trees, no flowers, birds and wild animals wouldn't even go near it. Everyone always had wild stories about how it was haunted and what used to happen there, but no one ever had the gaul to actually go up to the door.

"That's how you gotta prove yourself, frady pup!" his friend teased.

"Yeah Crisp, we've all done it, right guys?"

"Uh huh, yeah, I did it twice!"

"You guys are liars!" Crisp whimpered, standing back up and dusting off his high-tops.

"Nuh uh, and if you wanna be a cool kid like us, you gotta do it too! Unless you're too much of a frady pup."

"Yeah Crisp, you're too scared, just a big ole' frady pup!"

"Frady pup, frady pup, still drinks from a sippy cup!"

"Guys come on! I don't wanna!" Crisp's eyes started to water a bit, tucking his tail between his legs.

"Frady pup, frady pup, still drinks from a sippy cup!" they all chanted together, laughing at him. Crisp sniffled and wiped a tear away from his eye, turning and starting to run back toward his house. He could hear them all teasing and laughing at him as he padded down the pavement. They were such jerks. Why was he even friends with those guys? They were liars too, there was no way they'd really spent the night in that house. But he'd show them. If Crisp actually did it, then he'd be the bravest out of all of them, and they couldn't call him a frady pup anymore! Yeah that's it, he'd prove himself to all of them! Of course that means... he'd actually have to do it.

~~~
Crisp gulped, standing at the end of the long winding pathway looking up toward the dilapidated old house. He had a small overnight back slung over his shoulder and he was wearing a pair of baggy shorts and a Super Roo t-shirt. He wiggled his toes inside his favorite red and white high-tops, taking a deep breath with his three friends were standing behind him.
"Are you really gonna do it Crisp?"
"We were just teasing you know."
"Please don't get turned into a plushie!"
Maybe they had just been teasing, but it was too late now. If he backed out, they'd call him a frady pup for the rest of his life. The wolf pup gulped, nearly swallowing his tongue, and took the first step onto the long path. The soft rubber sole of his high-top sneakers crunched in the loose gravel. No one had been up this path in years and it wasn't well maintained. His paws were shaking as he took another step up the steep hill. Crunch, the gravel slid out from under his shoe, tumbling down the sparse ground like a little waterfall. He nearly fell down onto his knee, but managed to retain his balance.
It was just an old house. He knew he had nothing to be afraid of. There weren't any werewolves or ghosts. All of that stuff was make believe. That's what he kept telling himself, over and over, as he put one foot in front of the other up the steep stone path to the old house on the hill. When he finally reached the front porch, he could tell the stories of disrepair hardly did the house justice. Everything was worn, creaky, weathered, and chipped. The overhang on the front porch was so saggy he was afraid it might fall right on top of him. His heart was pounding, but he dared not look back over his shoulder. If he saw his friends down at the bottom of the hill he was like to go running back to them with his tail between his legs. No. He had to be brave, he was no frady pup!
Crisp reached out his small young paw to the door handle, and just as he was about to touch the tarnished brass knob, the door swung inward with a loud creak and Crisp felt a rush of cold air blow past him into the house. The wind, it was only the wind that opened the door, nothing to be afraid of. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and stepped inside.
One. Two. Three. Crisp opened his eyes and looked around. It was... it wasn't so bad. It was just an old house. It was dusty and unkempt, but there were no werewolves, he hadn't been turned into a plushie, and no evidence of anyone burning themselves to death anywhere. He took a few more steps into the foyer, looking around. There were some white dust cloths thrown over old furniture in the parlor and cobwebs just about anywhere cobwebs could be, but that was it. Fading sunlight crept in through the old boarded up windows, making just enough light to find his way. Crisp took a deep breath and slung his bag down to his side.
Those other guys were so stupid, trying to scare him with their stories. Crisp flicked his wrist and conjured a small flame, looking around more closely at the hall. There were several places on the wall where it looked like pictures used to hang, but everything had been removed. Only hooks and little bits of wire remained. This wasn't going to be so bad, perhaps a little chilly, but...
Suddenly there was another rush of cold wind and his fire got blown out. The front door slammed shut with a loud slam. The wind was so strong it seemed to shake the entire house. Particles of dust fell from the ceiling and he could hear the wood creak. It almost sounded like laughter, but no, just an old house, it was bound to make weird sounds. The violent wind up on this hill would definitely take some getting used to. Crisp brushed the dust out of his headfur and began walking further down the hallway toward the kitchen.
It was odd, his shoes felt a little loose, it was like... they were untied? Crisp looked down, and sure enough his shoelaces were loose and dragging against the dusty ground. That was weird, he made sure to tie them nice and tight earlier. The wolf pup shook his head and knelt down to tie them again. This time he even used a double knot, making sure it wouldn't happen again. As he was standing back up, he felt another rush of wind, a bit warmer this time. It blew up the back of his t-shirt, lifting it up and covering his face. He could swear he heard a laughing voice again as he lost his balance and stumbled forward, pulling the shirt back down and yelping as he regained his composure. It almost felt like someone had lifted the shirt up themselves, he could have sworn he felt a warm pair of paws on the small of his bare back.
Feeling a little shaken, he looked around nervously and picked up his bag, walking quickly into the kitchen. He flicked his wrist again, conjuring a small flame which he used to light some candles he'd brought along with him. He placed the candles around the room, trying to light the kitchen as best he could. The sunlight was fading quickly and it was getting dark. The kitchen was mostly bare, like the rest of the house. There was a shallow sink with tattered cabinets hanging above. The only furniture in the room was an old wooden table with chairs stacked upside down on top of it.
Crisp took one of the chairs down and set it upright. He set his bag on the table and fished inside, pulling out a peanut butter and jelly sandwich he'd packed for himself. Maybe eating something would make him feel more at ease. As he began to chew his sandwich, the young wolf got an increasing feeling that he was being watched. He looked carefully over his shoulders, but didn't see anyone around at all. This was silly, it was all in his head. His friends had just scared him with those stupid stories. He took another bite of his sandwich, and suddenly all his candles blew out at once. He felt himself toppling backwards and flailed his arms. He yelled out and hit the ground with a thud, quickly flicking his wrist to ignite a flame as he scrambled back to his feet.
"Who's there!" he called out to the darkness. "Come out or I'll, I'll..." he began, interrupted by a laughter coming from the darkness. That wasn't creaking wood, was it? It sounded way too real. Crisp quickly ran over and lit the candles again, holding up his conjured flame. Then he gasped as he felt something sticky and slimy sliding down the back of his head. Crisp reached up and grabbed his headfur, gripping whatever it was that attacking his head. It was soft and sticky, partly spongy, he pulled it out of his headfur and looked at it in his paw. Bread? Covered in... peanut butter and jelly! His sandwich! Somehow it must have landed on his head when he fell. Instinctively he rushed over to the sink, turning the faucet handles and washing the peanut buttery mess off his paws.
Wait a second. This place had running water? The utility company must have forgotten to shut it off. He washed his paws off as best as he could in the sink, but he just couldn't get the mess out of his headfur. The wolf grunted and frowned to himself. If there was running water, maybe he could take a shower upstairs? This place had to have an old shower.
The wolf pup grumbled and grabbed his bag, taking one of the candles and heading upstairs. The wood creaked and caved a bit as he walked, but nothing broke and the floor seemed to support his weight all right. The upstairs was fairly small, just a short hall with a couple bedrooms and a small bathroom at the end. He looked around carefully, making sure there was no one here trying to play a prank on him, but every room was empty and silent.
Crisp closed the door to the bathroom and set down his bag. He put the candle on the countertop and reached over to test the water in the shower. Everything seemed to be working fine, the water was even nice and warm. Feeling a little better, he started removing his clothes, folding them all up and putting them neatly on the countertop. He removed his shoes last, placing them atop his clothes and nodding affirmatively. Naked, he stepped into the shower and turned the handle. Everything seemed normal at first, although the water temperature seemed to fluctuate a bit. He managed to get all the jelly and peanut butter out of his headfur. Just as he was about to rinse off one last time, it happened again.
A rush of warm wind came in through the window and his candle blew out. The shower water quickly became ice cold and Crisp yelped as he jumped out of the tub. He quickly flicked his wrist to light the room, just in time to see the tail and footpaw of a small shadowy figure sweeping out the door.
"Hey I know you're here! You can't fool me guys! I know these are all your tricks!" he yelled out, quickly grabbing a towel from his bag and wrapping it around himself. "I'm not falling for it guys!" The last yell was a little more nervous as Crisp tried to assure himself that it was just his friends pulling a prank. It must have been them, who else? But with all the creaky floors surely he would have heard them coming. Crisp reached over to the countertop, grasping quickly for this clothes. His clothes? Someone had taken his clothes!
Crisp yelped out as he looked around the room, thinking they might have fallen on the floor. He found his shoes and socks fairly quickly. They were laid out on the floor like footsteps, almost as though someone had tried walking away in them. He lit the candle again, looking around nervously as he slipped his socks and shoes back on. The rest of his clothes were nowhere to be seen.
He wrapped the towel tightly around his waist and stepped out into the hall. It was vacant, just as it had been before, and there was no evidence of anyone fleeing the bathroom. Still, there must be someone here, he knew he saw them!
"Please give me back my clothes." he called out to the darkness, "This isn't funny!"
Crisp heard laughter in the darkness and a creak coming from downstairs. He quickly padded about halfway down the stairs when he noticed what made the sound. There was a wide brass chandelier hanging from the ceiling in the foyer, swaying back and forth, and hanging from one of the old melted candles was his underwear!
Whoever was playing these jokes might have thought they were funny, but Crisp was not amused. He whined a bit when he saw where his underwear had ended up, walking down below the chandelier and trying to jump up to reach it. He was holding the towel around his waist with one paw, but he just couldn't seem to jump high enough. He whined again, starting to get frustrated. He padded over to the kitchen, the wood creaking under his sneakers with each step. Pulling the kitchen chair over underneath the chandelier, he hoped to be able to get high enough to reach his underwear.
Carefully, he climbed up onto the chair, batting his paw up toward the chandelier. Just a couple inches more, he could almost reach it! He stretched his paw as far as he could, and then another gust of wind blew down the hall. His candle swept out and Crisp could feel the chair falling from under him. He jumped up into the air, grabbing the chandelier with both paws and hanging on as tight as he could. He heard a chuckling laughter again, this time he was sure it was laughter, and felt something brush against his legs. The towel came undone from his waist and Crisp could feel the warm air brush against his exposed boyhood.
The wolf pup blushed heavily, hanging from the old brass chandelier in nothing but his socks and high-top sneakers. He whimpered, reaching helplessly for his underwear hanging from the candle. He felt so exposed and embarrassed, and slowly his boyhood began to stiffen. He could hear laughter echoing through the halls, it was getting louder and seemed to be coming from all directions at once. In one final attempt, he leapt toward the edge of the chandelier and grabbed his underwear in one paw, dropping to the ground with a thud and a small cloud of dust. He quickly stepped into his underwear and snapped it up to his waist, but his hard-on just wasn't going away.
He bulged through his underwear, still hearing the laughter coming from all sides. Frightened, he backed up against a wall and dropped down onto the floor, tucking his legs up against his chest. He looked down in shock and embarrassment as his dick swelled to full mast, straining the elastic waistband on his briefs. He was breathing heavily, it felt like someone was touching him down there, stroking him up and down as they laughed. He began to sniffle, his eyes watering as his cock throbbed. He moaned a bit as pre-cum began to moisten his underwear at the tip. Involuntarily he rocked his hips, feeling like he was pushing his cock against something warm and wet. Then just as quickly as it had began, the laughing sound stopped and everything returned to normal. The air grew still and Crisp felt like he was alone again.
"What the hell was that." Crisp gasped, breathing heavily as he looked around. His cock was still hard as a rock, but he didn't feel like he was being stimulated anymore and it began to go down. He rose back to his feet, rubbing his arms nervously. He thought he'd feel cold, standing there in just his underwear and shoes, but it felt surprisingly warm inside the house.
Crisp felt like he was losing his mind. Either someone was very good at teasing him, or this house really was haunted, maybe even both. He considered leaving right then and there, looking at the front door with determination. But there was something, some spark of curiosity in his mind that made him want to stay. Maybe he just needed some rest. It was well after midnight now and the fatigue was getting to him. In the morning this would all be over, he could go home, and his friends would all think he was the bravest wolf of all.
The wolf yawned and started walking back up the stairs. He still had no idea where his shirt and pants had gone, but it was too warm for them now anyway. Warily he pushed open the bedroom door, looking around for any signs of an intruder. Fortunately it looked like no one had been in this room for years. The floor had a fine layer of dust, completely undisturbed. He carefully padded into the room and closed the door behind him, propping a nearby chair against the doorknob so no one could get in. Looking around, he breathed a sigh of relief. Crisp walked over and sat down on the bed, rubbing his weary eyes. He didn't want to fall asleep, but maybe he could just take a nap for a moment. He laid back, trying to keep his eyes open, but as soon as his head hit the mattress, the wolf was asleep.
Crisp stepped into the school lunchroom, adjusting the straps on his backpack. He looked around, trying to find his friends. As he walked down the aisles between tables, he noticed a lot of other cubs looking at him, watching him, some were covering the muzzles and snickering. Crisp began walking faster, but the lunchroom just seemed to get longer. The cubs at the tables began pointing at Crisp and laughing to each other. The wolf pup began to feel increasingly nervous, and started jogging instead of walking. He didn't remember there being this many tables before, or this many cubs.
The cubs started laughing louder, some were even standing up on their seats to get a better look. Crisp broke out into a run. He wasn't even trying to find his friends anymore, he was just trying to get out of the lunchroom. He began to panic, running as fast as he could until finally he reached the end of the aisle, but it was just another table! There were more cubs staring at him, pointing, laughing at him. He turned around and tried to run the other way, but there was a table there too. He was surrounded, on all sides! Crisp looked down and gasped in horror. He wasn't wearing a shirt, or any pants, and suddenly his backpack was gone too. All he had on were his high-tops, socks, and a pair of tight briefs. Everyone was pointing at his underwear and laughing. His boyhood swelled behind the tight fabric, and the more they laughed, the harder he got.
His cock was straining against the elastic waistband and Crisp was blushing with complete embarrassment, hiding his face behind his paws. Then he started to feel something slither up his legs. He gasped and looked down as his shoelaces wound up his calves and thighs, moving all by themselves. They got longer and wider as they climbed, slipping inside his briefs and brushing against his package. Crisp gasped, feeling the shoelaces rubbing against his member, wrapping around his shaft like a warm hand and stroking, stroking, stroking...
~~~

Crisp shot up and gasped loudly, realizing he was suddenly no longer in the school lunchroom. He could still hear the laughter, he thought, but it was fading, then it was gone. He was, where was he? He was in the house; the bedroom where he fell asleep, of course. He whimpered as he felt his underwear. It was soaking wet around the tip of his hard cock. It was just a dream, a nightmare, it... Crisp screamed as he looked down, kicking his footpaws and scampering against the wall as he saw a pair of bright yellow eyes and a shadowy figure recede underneath the bed. Was he still in the nightmare? Could this be real?

Crisp slapped his face to make sure he wasn't still dreaming. He wasn't. If he was awake then what... what was that? "Who are you!?" he yelled out to the darkness, "What are you!?" He tried to flick his wrist and summon a small flame, but his paws were too shaky, he couldn't do it right. His whole body was shaking as he backed up against the wall.

Suddenly, the darkness replied. "Caaa.a.alm d.d.ooown, Crisssssp." a ghostly voice replied. It sounded like a cub, a young boy, but the voice was shaky and not all there, like it was being cut and carried by the wind. "I'm noooot go'ng to huuurt yo.o.u." the voice said again, gaining a bit more clarity. The voice sounded so innocent, like a curious child. He spoke with a broken cadence, saying some words much faster or slower than others.

"Who are you?" Crisp said again, clutching his knees tightly against his chest.

"I dooon't have a naame." the voice replied. "But I was a wolf, like yooou."

"What do you mean was? What do you want with me? Why won't you go away?"

"Go away? But you'reee in my houssse."

"Then I'll go away, I promise, I'll leave right now. I'm sorry for coming in your house!" he scrambled to his feet, running over to the door and grasping the handle. It was completely stuck, not even budging a little bit. He gasped in fear, backing against the wall.

"Nooo, ha ha ha." the voice replied, laughing a bit. "It's tooo late for that nooow."

"Please, please you have to let me go, I'm so sorry! What do you want with me?" Crisp's eyes began to water as he sniffled against his fur.

"Rrrrreeeeelleeaaassseeee." the voice replied, drawing out the word for several seconds. As he said it, a dark shape rose from underneath the bed. Crisp could only see a faint shadow from the moonlight coming into the slatted windows, but the figure's eyes were plainly visible. They were bright yellow, dancing in the darkness, but they didn't look malicious or evil, just curious and playful, if not a little mischievous.

"Release? What does that mean?" Crisp asked, staring back at the yellow eyes.

"I'm trapped." the ghostly figure replied sharply, suddenly sounding terrified and helpless. "I'm trapped in this house, all alone, no one to plaa.a.y with." The ghostly voice sounded like he was almost ready to cry, and the more Crisp watched the more solid his shape seemed to become. It was still difficult to make out, but as his eyes adjusted he could see it was a cub, or at least it looked like one. The ghost was a wolf and looked about the same age as him, with all black fur from ear to tail. The ghost reached up and rubbed its nose, sniffling.

"I'm sorry, um, ghost. But I don't think I can help you with that."

"But you can, Crisp!" the voice replied, sounding desperate.

"Why me?" he said back, both curious and afraid.

"Because I've watched you." the shadowy figure began. He seemed more and more real with each passing second. His voice was changing from a ghostly echo to a real voice. "I know what you are." The dark wolf leaned in closer, looking Crisp in the eyes.

"W.. what am I?"

The dark wolf smiled wide and Crisp could see his shining white teeth. "Innocent, pure, unseeded, a virgin."

"What? Well yeah, so what if I am. I'm only 10 years old!" Crisp replied, sounding shocked.

"And that's why I need you. I need a pure release, Crisp. It's my curse. I need you to give yourself to me."

"I don't want to be possessed by a ghost!" Crisp tucked his knees up and looked afraid.

The ghost rolled back, floating in the air as he laughed and hanging his tongue out haphazardly. "No, no, silly pup. I'm not going to possess you. True, once I'm free I can possess anything I want, but I like you. It would be mean to possess you. Ghosts, demons, and spirits, we're not all as spooky, or scary as the stories say." the ghost's face seemed to contort and flicker when he said those last words, as if demonstrating a sample of what he could become. "And we always honor a deal." He finished, reaching his paw out for a handshake.

"You promise? You'll let me go?" Crisp asked shyly, holding his paw back.

"I promise." the ghost replied with an earnest smile. Crisp gulped, reluctant, but this was probably the only way. He reached his paw out for the ghost's and grabbed hold of it. Surprisingly he felt real, and warm, like a real wolf cub.

"Deal." Crisp replied, gulping as he said the word. "Now what?"

The ghost smiled and reached his arms up and wrapped them tightly around Crisp. He could feel warmth, breath, a heartbeat, and he felt something else too, poking against his bellyfur. Crisp looked down and saw the ghost cub's boyhood rising to attention. He blushed and gasped a bit as the ghost began to grind against his fur.

"Now you just relax." the ghost said, suddenly disappearing into twirls of smoke. The cloud rushed into Crisp's body, straight through and out the other side. He heard the ghost pup giggle as his paws rubbed against Crisp's shoulders, reappearing once again behind him. He let Crisp back to the bed and sat him down on the mattress. It was bizarre, this mix of fear and pleasure, but the more the ghost continued to touch him, the more comfortable he felt.

The ghost pulled him down, spooning gently together with the cub as his dark black paws rubbed up and down Crisp's sides. He took a deep breath, and then gasped as he felt paws sliding inside the back of his underwear. The ghost pulled the briefs down below his knees, exposing his aroused boyhood and soft furred balls. Crisp moaned softly as the ghost fondled him, spreading his legs slightly to grant better access. He'd never been touched like this before, at least not by anyone other than himself. He had to admit he rather liked it.

Crisp gasped loudly as he felt something warm and wet pressing under his tail. Looking back, he saw the ghost cub's muzzle pressed between his cheeks, lapping at his virgin tailhole. He twitched and gasped as the ghost played with him, the tip of his boyhood already starting to pre-cum.

"Oh Crisp, you don't know how long it's been." the black wolf moaned out, rubbing his warm paws across Crisp's bare behind, spreading his cheeks. He brought his hips up behind the cub's rump, breathing heavily as his shaft rubbed against the cub's soft fur.

"Will it hurt?" the pup looked back over his shoulder, bracing his forepaws against the bed.

"I'll be gentle." the ghost boy winked and pressed the tip of his cock inside. Crisp arched his head back and moaned, clenching his rear. It did hurt at first, but it was a good hurt. The nameless wolf continued slowly pushing in as deep as he could go, pressing his stiff cock right against the boy's prostate. Crisp moaned loudly in pleasure, breathing heavily and clenching his behind.

"Good boy, good puppy." the ghost reassured, petting the pup's sides as he started slowly rolling his hips forward and back. Pain gave way to pleasure as the pup gradually began to relax. The wolf sped up and Crisp could feel the heat rising inside him as he reached down to stroke his length. He dug his footpaws into the bed, getting a better grip with his sneakers, and moaned as he submitted himself to the spirit's lust.

The black wolf began thrusting harder and the cub moaned with each push, pawing his boyhood as he felt his climax rising. "Yes, yes!" he began to gasp under his breath, tongue panting heavily. He was doing it, he was really doing it, this felt so amazing he never wanted it to end. His groin felt like it was on fire. He closed his eyes and groaned through his teeth. Over and over the wolf boy pounded him from behind, taking his innocence, his purity, his virginity, he wanted this so badly!

Finally the wolf pup couldn't take it anymore, he howled out in pleasure, his cock throbbing and pulsing as he sprayed his boy cum down onto the bed sheets. He heard the wolf behind him panting too, thrusting as hard and deep as he could go, and then he too leaned his head back and howled. Crisp felt a rush of warmth within him, and looked back over his shoulder.

The nameless ghost wolf had a look of pure pleasure on his face, hanging onto the boy's hips with both paws. Gradually his form began to dissolve. Crisp's eyes widened, seeing the ghost disappear before his eyes. He seemed to dissipate into the air like a mist of water. In mere seconds, he was gone. Crisp was left alone in the room, panting, spent, and exhausted. The first light of the morning sun began peering in through the slatted windows, and Crisp could even hear the chirping of a morning bird. Odd, there were never any birds or animals on this hill.

After he'd had a moment to regain his faculties, he pulled up his underwear and looked around, trying to find any sign of the spirit he'd just made love to. Where had he gone? What object had he possessed? Crisp tapped the rubbed toe of his shoe against the bed frame and sighed. Perhaps he'd never see him again.

The wolf stepped out into the hall, seeing his pants and shirt hanging over the stair railing. Had they been there the whole time? Carefully he slipped his clothes back on and trod slowly back to the front door. The handle opened easily and the wooden door swung open wide to the morning air. He looked back into the house one more time and gave a sly smile. As he stepped carefully down the steep hill, he could see his friends were waiting for him at the bottom.

"I can't believe you actually did it!"

"You didn't get turned into a plushie!"

"You're the bravest wolf of all Crisp! Three cheers for Crisp Wolf!" They all began congratulating him and patting him on the back. Crisp was elated, wagging his tail happily.

"Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hoo..." they all began chanting in unison. Crisp's smile of elation quickly turned to panic as he found himself tangled in his shoelaces and falling down to the ground. He tumbled to the side and rolled into the dirt, looking down with frustration at his shoes. Somehow the laces had gotten tied together. His face turned red as he could hear his friends laughing at him again. But there was another voice laughing, not just his friends. He could hear it. It was the nameless wolf.
