The Fairy Dragon

Drestir plunged through the thicket and was very capable of dispatching it because of his size. He plodded along fighting back calling out loud in a shrill screech in frustration, at any recall of his Prince's plight.

He suddenly heard an "owww" and tripped over something hard and plunged right over the top of a hillside and right into a pool. His body splashed down and kicked all the water out of it up so it sprayed down to him in a mist.

He looked up overhead giving a groan of discomfort and then saw a snout of a dragon peering over at him.

"Owww whatch where you're going," it said and then leapt off and flew hovering down above the attendant dragon's black elongated snout.

"Hmmm," Drestir said and saw the wings of the dragon beat so quickly it was fairly invisible like a hummingbird.

It hovered there, its eyes almost bigger than its own snout but it smiled and alighted on the top of Drestir's snout chuckling and hopping up and down till drestir stirred himself.

"You're much bigger than i'm used to. I mean, i've seen the bigger dragons. Awww but i do like the longer larger dragons. You really have a better attitude than some of those stupid upright standing ones. What's your name?" and it peered into his eyes with its own larger eyes and Drestir was taken over by energetic air of it. He remembered these types of dragons are called fairy dragons. Not a useless creature but not altogether evil, just wily and sometimes trickturous.

He was lucky that the fairy dragon Jaori was not in mischevous mood, although miffed at being tripped on. She flitted to his forepaws and then to his hind claws and then alighted on his tailtip chittering in such a tone that sounded like a chime or a bell jingle.

She flitted back. She was about the size of Drestir's head and matched the size of a creature he heard stories of what the upright dragons called a house cat or some house lion of sorts. He hadn't seen them himself. In fact, he looked around as he hadn't been this far away from the cavernous network of Sharclaw's Kridirk caverns.

"Well you don't speak much. Perhaps you've a home you ran away from," She chittered.

"What's that? I am?" He felt his eyes starting to grow hot with tears and upset when he remembered why he was thus this far he choked up and admitted, "They're sick ummmm so sick."

"Oooh," and the fairy dragon produced something that looked like a rain drop clear, glistening and glowing bright around the edges. It dangled on the end of her claw tip, "I might be able to help. Ummm what happened?"

Drestir described the plight of the dragons contracting the unknown disease and Zargon being the last to get infected and the fairy dragon jaori looked at him tilting her head to the side. He couldn't help but smile at this expression. She really took his mind away from the problems he'd came from.

"I can't get sick," He mumbled dry mouthed.

"I wouldn't think you would want to get sick the way you talk about that stomach sicknesss. Yes perhaps i can still do something about it. She flitted away back up over the hillface and his feelings lifted, because if she could cure it then that'd be amazing. He rolled over in the muck and water left in the pool and slinked over and around. When he climbed up the hillside he darted after the fairy dragon back toward the caves.

He had trouble keeping up with her and her green scaley form flicked around with a green blur but he eventually lost sight of her. Then, she reappeared flying back and stopped right before his snout causing him to flinch, "Aye, you you're?"

"I am Drestir," he squeaked.

"Drestir, c'mon, you're slow," she chittered flitting back away.

He bounded after her crushing and trampling anything underclaw and were soon back at the mountain of caves. He followed her up and back to the side of Zargon. The draconic prince still lay on his back with all his claws pressed into his belly and groaning.

She dropped the rain droplet on him and it made his body shimmer such as the drop of rain touches a rain puddle and makes ripples. But, they collected back suddenly into the point she dropped it on him and shot back up toward her in a glowing red type of light. It impacted her and shot her straight up against the roof where she fell down in a heap on the princely dragon's belly. Zargon shuddered and she twitched and Drestir rerred out in surprise. He then took her and looked at her open mouthed and twitching form.

Jaori eventually regained herself and merely said, "We have some problems, its powerful magic. Very powerful." Drestir let out a sigh and shook his head.
