#4 of A Mewtwo Story

Chapter 4

Emotions

It was dark, but comfortable. Mewtwo felt very groggy, and tried to focus his vision on the details of the room he was now in. He lifted his head up and saw his body was covered in a blanket. He heard slight voices coming from beyond a large wooden door. He attempted to hear what they were saying and focused his mind on the conversation.

"I have never seen anything like this Pokemon before. Perhaps it's from the Sinnoh region?" Said the voice.

It was a female's voice. Her tone had a touch of concern. There was another voice in the room, another he didn't recognize. It also sounded feminine, but he was unable to distinguish just what kind of human had such a high voice.

"I found it lying there in the woods outside the abandoned cinnabar research facility just a mile from Blaine's Gym. Is it alright Joy?"

"Well from the X-rays I took nothing is broken. It looks deprived of nutrition, and when it wakes up I'll give it some food. There is a small, solid object in the center of its brain though, and I cannot tell what it is."

"Well please call me when it wakes up. It seems to be such a magnificent Pokemon. Its trainer seems to have abandoned him. I found a decapitated Gyrados just a little ways up the lake from where I found him. My guess is out of self defense the Pokémon was forced to destroy it. From the looks of the corpse id say this was at least a level eighty tournament Pokémon. Well hopefully self defense was the case anyway."

"Okay then. I'll call you when it wakes up. And here's your other team back. And finally, my I have your autograph?"

The other voice laughed.

"Sure. Always happy to help out those who care so much for Pokémon."

Mewtwo herd scribbling noises as something heavy was dropped on a wooden surface.

"Here's your Pokéballs. And you have a safe Journey Red."

Mewtwo suddenly went wide eyed. It was the trainer he was looking for! Mewtwo backed away from the door now and huddled in a corner. Red sounded so happy; he wanted to help Mewtwo out not even knowing what or who he was.

Mewtwo started crying again. Such a nice person who was so compassionate did not deserve to die. He didn't feel he could do it. But that was the only way father would accept him again.

He heard footsteps approaching the door, and he remained huddled in the corner as the door swung open. A tray of food was brought in and carrying it was a very beautiful red headed girl. Her hair was done up in large hoops tied back underneath a little whit nurses cap. Her clothing was a white blouse and skirt, and she wore white sandals. The skirt had that all too familiar symbol in it in Red.

She gasped as she noticed Mewtwo was not in his bed. She then looked around and found him in the corner opposite the door. Joy Smiled.

"I'm not going to hurt you! You have nothing to fear from me, Come over and have some of this food. you look starved."

He could not see her face too well as it was dark in the room. He decided to speak to her the only way he knew how.

"Where Am I? What place is this?" Mewtwo said mentally.

Joy dropped the tray startled, which made Mewtwo shield his eyes with his arms.

"Did you j-just t-tallk?!"

"I'm sorry"

"N-no don't be its okay...I just...never heard a Pokemon talk before, much less without moving his lips...I'm sorry for dropping the tray. Are you hungry? Should I get more food?"

Joy had a smile on her face. Mewtwo calmed down now and nodded to her.

"Okay then, my Chansey will help clean this up. Don't be frightened of her, she's very docile. Oh and by the way my name is Joy Mathis, but everybody calls me Nurse Joy. Who are you?"

Mewtwo rubbed the top of his head with his knobbed fingers.

"My father called me Mewtwo, but he said I was weak so he told me to go and perform a deed for him, and he said that until I did that deed I was not allowed back with him."

Nurse joy was puzzled. A Pokemon never is issued any complex orders other than just simple command words that they are trained to know. The again, she was not looking at your average Pokémon.

"What is the deed?

Mewtwo shed a tear, and nurse joy saw it. The tear ran down his face and Nurse Joy came over with a tissue. She wondered what his trainer did to him.

"I must kill a trainer by the name of Red Carson...But I cannot do it!"

Nurse joy wiped his tears. She rested a hand on his head and rubbed it. His head felt to her like silk. Very soft, short bunched together fur. It was much like petting a Seel only the fur was much shorter. Mewtwo was enjoying the touch.

"You really don't seem like a murderous Pokémon to me. How awful! Pokémon should never be used for such things, was it your trainer that told you to do this?"

"Yes, but I thought he was only trying to help me succeed in my destiny."

Joy stood up and shook her head.

"There is no destiny in which a Pokémon is to murder the innocent. This sounds like the work of team Rocket."

Mewtwo looked up to her and sat on his hands.

"My father is the director of team Rocket."

Joy nodded.

"Team rocket was a notorious crime syndicate put into exile by the trainer you have been instructed to kill. It sounds to me like they are still in operation somewhere...but that's enough of that right now. You look very tired and hungry. I will be right back with some more food."

Nurse Joy left the room. And Mewtwo wandered back over to the bed. Not much time went by before another Pokemon came in the room; it was a very large, round pink creature with large decorative fronds coming off the top. It had little beady eyes and a smile on its face. Mewtwo also noticed a small pouch near the bottom of its belly carrying something white and round.

"And who are you?" said Mewtwo mentally.

It responded with the single phrase "Chansey"

It came over and started cleaning up the spilled tray on the floor. The Pokemon's mind was very simplistic. It regarded the mess as if it were her own nest, which she instinctively wished to keep clean. There was also a strong desire to hold close the object in her pouch, along with another instinctive urge to treat injury and finally a feeling of great compassion for Nurse Joy. Other than a few instinctive drives that was all that her mind possessed. She was only a little more complex than the Magicarp he delved into earlier that day. Nothing like the Alakazam he met briefly.

Molly had witnessed the Murder of Doctor Thaddeus and Valerie, and she was really not okay with it. She joined Rocket only because she knew how to steal, and that was enough for her. She didn't think Murder was a part of the deal. And all the other members of Rocket dismissed the murder as just another average day at work.

She had been left in the dark. She knew it had something to do with Mewtwo, or there was something worse going on that she didn't know about. She remembered how easily Red had beaten her at mount moon. She was completely out of his league. He didn't even have to bring out a second Pokemon into battle. His one Wartortle was enough to completely immobilize her entire team.

She spent five months in jail for that stunt, and after that Rocket had lost its luster anyway. This team was dying, and she knew that she would need to abandon ship sooner than later while there was still a way for her to do so. She built up the courage and pressed the button on the large door to the director's office.

"Come in" said the directors voice. And it sounded slightly labored.

Molly stepped in to witness the director, with his pants down and bucking his hips into Cassidy, who was bent over the desk. Her little black skirt flopped over her back showing the entire curves of her smooth, teardrop shaped ass.

Molly was aghast, she knew the director was allowed to do anything he wanted, whenever he wanted, anywhere in the facility, but it always caught her off guard when he was making out.

It didn't take long for him to finish and he grunted like a bull straddling a cow. It was rather a grotesque sexual scene.

"Um..did I come at a bad time sir?"

Giovanni smiled as he looked at her.

"No just finishing up a meeting. What's your business with me this evening young lady?"

Molly gulped. She saw a bit of drool coming off of Giovanni's face. Cassidy walked by her very femininely as she walked out the door.

"Damn what a piece of ass." Giovanni said rather wolfishly.

Giovanni then turned his attention back to Molly.

"S-sir...I would like to t-turn in my resignation to your organization."

Giovanni's lust ridden face changed to a look of grimace

"Oh really? Any particular reason why?"

"I'm not cut out for this organization sir. I'm a thief, not a murderer."

She had a hard time not looking at his penis hanging out under his black shirt, and he had no shame in having it on display at all.

"That's quite disappointing. I'm afraid I'm going to have to refuse."

She was afraid he'd say that. He started pulling up his trousers, and as he did so she started backing away.

"You think team Rocket is the kind of organization that you can just put in your two weeks notice and skedaddle when you feel it's time to do so? I'm afraid that it just isn't that simple because you see, we here are all family. You are a rocket until you die. You were explained this were you not?"

Molly swallowed again and kept her eye on Giovanni. The door behind her was open, she was thinking of making a run for it, but she was sacred of what might happen if she did.

"If you are thinking I'm a snitch I'd die before I told anyone what has happened in here."

His face was telling her everything she needed to know about his thoughts. He was not happy, and his face was becoming more and more angry. She was already thinking this was a bad idea.

"That may be so. But I don't trust you. Besides, weren't you a little uneducated street urchin living off trash cans before I found you? Where would you go? You have no family besides us, no friends besides us, and if you think there is going to be anybody in this world that will treat you as good as I have, you are sadly mistaken.

"I really want out sir, I just want to live in peace now."

"Peace? My dear child there is no such thing as peace in a world that runs on the tracks of chaos. This world is a well-oiled machine, calculating and cold. It only runs a certain way. And peace is not the way it runs."

"How do you know that?"

"When I was young my father said to me that if you want to survive in this world you have to be able to think that every situation in life is a war. And so far every situation in my life has been a conflict. And right now you are being an obstacle in my way by telling me you wish to leave my beloved organization!"

Molly could not reason with this psychopath any longer. He was dead set in his ways, and there was no way he was going to give up the power he possessed without a brutal fight. So she did the only thing she could think to do at that moment, and ran out the door.

"COME BACK HERE YOU BITCH!"

Molly was now running down the hall as fast as her legs would carry her. She turned a corner and ran into another rocket member. It was Butch. Giovanni's right hand man she got up and ran past him.

"Hey!" butch said not knowing why she was running

"STOP HER!" Yelled Giovanni and butch started after her.

Molly turned another corner and saw a fire extinguisher on the wall. She grabbed it and kept running. Butch was closing in on her.

"Hold it right there Molly! Get back here right now or you will be in serious trouble!" Screamed butch.

She was already in serious trouble. And she knew she would be in far more trouble if she did stop. She pulled the ring pin on the fire extinguisher. She turned around and sprayed butch with it. Butch coughed and sputtered as she emptied the contents in his face and chest. Then as butch was staggering trying to get the retardant out of his eyes and mouth she brought up the end of the extinguisher and swung it as hard as she could on top of his head.

Butch went down like a sack of bricks. Molly threw the fire extinguisher on him and continued to run. An alarm sounded in the facility now and Giovanni was over the loud speaker announcing the wanted status of Molly. She was almost out of the facility now.

Joy came back with a tray and she walked in on Chansey hugging Mewtwo, with Mewtwo hugging right back. With all her simplistic emotions she had one that could sense Mewtwo was in turmoil. Joy smiled at the sight and walked in.

"I brought you some food. I don't know what type of Pokémon you are or what your diet is so I brought a little of everything. I have no idea what your trainer fed you, if he fed you at all. You are very skinny; I can see your bones through your skin."

Before Chansey left she kissed Mewtwo on his forehead. This made Mewtwo blush a bit.

"It's almost as if you were human. She doesn't do that with normal Pokémon." Said Joy

"She felt my sadness, she wanted to make me feel better, and her mind was full of a strange happy feeling. And I didn't feel like it was something to argue with.

"You are a psychic Pokemon. Aren't you? I should have guessed when I heard you talking but your lips don't move. You are a remarkable Species. There seems to be no known record of A Mewtwo in any of the regions. Though there is the Ancient legend of A Pokemon named Mew."

She gave Mewtwo the tray. The tray had a piece of steak on it covered in gravy, again with the orange carrots that Mewtwo didn't like, some greens in a bowl, some bread with cheese on it. It was a very large looking meal and it smelled heavenly.

"I figured id cook it, seeing as you are intelligent enough to possibly enjoy such things. I figured Pokémon food pellets were not what you were accustomed to..."

She hadn't even finished her train of thought before he was already gorging himself on the steak.

Joy giggled

"Don't eat it too fast or you'll get indigestion."

Mewtwo looked at her puzzled. This was all new to him. The memories he had before two days ago were all put together in a computer model and fed directly into his skull. Through the cord on the back of his head, this was now connected directly to his spine. Basic speech and knowledge of certain things were all clumsily transferred to his memory.

"That's right. Chew your food well. You are kind of naive aren't you?"

Mewtwo took a drink of the milk and found it completely delicious. It helped wash down the meal, and while in the middle of guzzling the milk he answered her question.

"Naive? Yes. I have only a little bit of your speech down, and I have not much else in the way of knowing what to do with things."

Suddenly Joy's phone rang. Mewtwo stopped eating to hear the familiar sound he had often heard in the laboratory.

"Excuse me, I'll get that."

Joy went into the front desk and picked up the phone. Mewtwo could hear both sides of the conversation through the use of telepathy.

"Hey joy! Is that Pokémon awake yet? I'm on my way back; I unfortunately ran into a band of Rocket members on patrol. It's like they were looking for something. Anyway I just wanted to check up on him."

It was the same voice he heard earlier, that was Red.

"Okay, I'll introduce you to him when you get here. You really have to see him. He is very intelligent. I think far more than any Alakazam, even yours."

There was a pause on the phone

"Introduce me?"

"Yes. You'll see what I mean when you get here. He's eating right now. The poor thing was starving. There's a lot to discuss. This creature is quite possibly one of a kind. And I know how much you love finding new entries for your Pokédex that you are working on for Professor Oak. How is he doing by the way?"

"Quite a grumpy guy these days after I kicked his nephews butt off the champion podium, but he still admires what I am doing for him"

"Ahh, well I'll see you when you get here."

Mewtwo was almost done with his meal when Joy walked back in.

"You belonged to Giovanni?" Asked Joy.

"Yes. He said the he was my Father, and that he made me. And that I was to be his ultimate weapon against any that would stand in his way."

"Mewtwo, your Father is a known and wanted criminal. And even though he made a beautiful creature like you, he has murdered thousands of people with his once powerful military Pokémon army, and his legions of soldiers that do his bidding."

Joy took the tray in her hand as Mewtwo had cleaned his plate.

"You are about to meet the one person who was brave enough and strong enough to stand in his way and tear apart his evil organization."

"Red Carson?"

Joy smiled

"That's right. He is just a child of fourteen. But in all of history, there has not been one person that has been able to become a trainer as great as Red. His Pokémon are each and every one, very loyal to him and he loves them for what they do for him. And he sounds very eager to make your acquaintance."

* * *

It was a rainy night. Red pushed on through the wilderness back to the Pokémon center. His backpack slung over his back. His belt laden with his champions, each one a fighting machine trained with love and devotion. He rode his bike into a clearing to the lake where he had found Mewtwo. There he saw a female Gyrados Howling for the loss of her mate.

Red shook his head. Wondering just what kind of Pokemon was capable of such destruction. Before he could press on he was stopped.

"Red Carson...I thought I smelled your stink wafting through the trees. What are you doing here?"

Red knew that voice anywhere. It was John Oak, Nephew of professor Oak.

"I could ask the same about you John. I'm just heading to a Pokemon center."

John got off his bike and then he put up an umbrella.

"I heard a report of A Gyrados being slaughtered here. I came to check it out but unfortunately I was too far away. Looks like you got here first. I'll bet you found something."

Red got of his bike. He let the rain pour on him.

"I did. I found a female Gyrados crying for her now dead mate. I found a bunch of Rocket thugs, performing their usual shenanigans around this lake area and the surrounding cinnabar forest. And now, I find you John, wondering if there was anything cool to make your team stronger I'm betting."

John Smirked.

"You know me all too well O' rival of mine. I gotta hand it to you; at least you didn't rub your precious victory in my face."

Red folded his arms and smiled back.

"You know I didn't care whether I won or lost John. I was very happy that you were the champion I had to beat. To be honest it was a beautiful memory I will cherish forever. Win or lose, I'm glad you were there."

John got back on his bike. "You better be careful though, I have seen multiple Rocket patrols in this area. And you know I cannot always be there to get you out of those ridiculous binds you always seem to get into."

"And you better be careful too. And hey, let's have another battle soon, for old time's sake."

John Smiled and got ready to ride off.

"I'll take you on any time anywhere Red, but be prepared to lose next time. Who knows I might just get lucky...Smell ya later!"

Red watched John ride off into the wilderness. He straddled his bike once more and rode once again to the Pokemon center.
