#2 of First Day on Campus

This is the second part to my little romance story. I hope you all enjoy it. I had fun writing it. :)

Blake sat patiently in the back row. The professor, a rather intimidating Panthress, lecturing on about the class expectations for the year. The fox found himself unable to offer her words much attention, his gaze idly passing over the syllabus laid out neatly on his desk. His thoughts were drifting off to Mark, fantasies playing in his head about the two of them intertwined in a lover's embrace. Blood rushing to his cheeks as he idly ran his fingertips along line after line on the syllabus. It was an impossible task for the infatuated fox to keep himself focused.

"Hey" came a whisper from the chair next to him causing the boy's mind to drift away from his daydream. As he turned he spotted a pretty young lapin girl. She looked to be in her early twenties with a gorgeous cream colored fur. Her eyes a deep ocean blue, and her voice sweet to the ears. The nervous little fox offered a dumb little awkward smile.

"Oh hello" he offered politely

"Could I borrow a pencil?"

"Oh um yeah...of course" he muttered before slipping his backpack off his right shoulder to fumble around in search of a pencil

"Thanks" she spoke as he handed her a single no.2 pencil

"No problem."

"Oh, my name's Jennifer by the way" she spoke

"I'm Blake" he mumbled his voice still a little nervous and shaky

"There should be no interruptions in my class!" came the stern voice of the panthress, who's cold eyes were now zeroed in on the fox and the bunny. The duo tensing up rather suddenly as her gaze and that harsh tone felt like it pierced into their very souls.

"I'm sorry ma'am" they both spoke in a strange unison.

"Sorry about getting you in trouble. You seem like a nice guy, would you wanna hang out sometime?" The fox read on the little folded up note that had been passed secretly to him from the bunny girl. Looking down at it he felt a few high school memories resurfacing.

"I can't today, but if you have a twitter or face-book...ya know something like that I'd be happy to set something up" he scribbled down onto his own note passing it back to her.

"Alright, I'm gonna hold you to it foxxy" was her reply and under that she had jotted down a phone number as well as a few user-names to ensure he'd have no excuse not to get a hold of her.

The rest of the class the vulpine found himself drifting off into space. His mind aimlessly wandering about. He was daydreaming once again about the wolf. This time he imagined himself wrapped in the wolf's embrace, gently nuzzling into his chest. His fantasy continued and just as the wolf leaned in to kiss him, the boy was snapped away from his thoughts.

"And with that, I release you" the panthress spoke amongst the class, her choice of words strange to the fox, though he figured he must have missed something to place them in context. As the rest of the students shuffled out of the room the vulpine stood up slowly sliding his backpack down his right shoulder to rest on the desk. With little effort he managed to cram the papers into the pack before zipping it up and slinging it back over his shoulder. With that he scurried his own way out of the room.

Once he was out of class he found a spot in the hall to slump down for a moment. Blake smiled and pulled out his flip phone before glancing down to the little note that Jenny had left him. He got her number into his contacts and then began to type out a text.

"Hey, it's Blake." he wrote

"That was quick foxxy" she replied

"I was making sure not to forget is all"

"lol so wats ur nxt class?" she asked, looking at her text he cringed a bit, but he was getting used to people who couldn't send a decent text.

"Sociology"

"I had that last yr"

"Oh, what's it like?"

"It's cake"

"That's good"

"yea, I g2g foxxy catch you l8r"

"Later"

With that settled he put his phone back into his pocket. Blake smiled as he was happy to have made a new friend so quickly. He couldn't help thinking that even if she couldn't text too well she was certainly very nice. He hoped they would wind up having a class together again, but even if they didn't he wasn't going to let it bother him too much.
