The primary elements

#2 of Nature of a universe

I made a small mistake in the previous nature and got Metal and Decay's locations mixed up (changed the template for the table when transcribing from paper to computer). That's been fixed but I'm having trouble changing the cover image (my only problem with SF so far...). The only other change worth noting is that Sand has been replaced with Plant. This should be the only change in elements but don't quote me on that.

For this section, I intend to discuss some of the more natural uses of the primary energies as well as some of the side effects caused by being a being capable of using them. The following template will be used:

[Element]: a brief description of the power.

[related color] (I may changes this portion...I thought I had already designated them but I guess not...)

Primary use: What it most commonly does

Secondary use: Other potential ability

Weak Power: A very basic attack or ability requiring little energy with description. (can usually be made stronger by applying more energy)

Strong Power: A more complex attack or one that requires a larger amount of energy. (note: most attacks can gradually be perfected so that they require less and less energy)

Side effects may include: Nasea, histeria, increased risk of suicide and heart attack, cancer of all organs and loved ones.

Fire: Not the fastest of the primary elments but not the slowest. It's biggest strength is simply it's ability to put out damage. Dodge it all you want but you're probably dead the moment you're hit.

Red

Primary use: To burn things. Usually things you don't like or enemies.

Secondary use: Too strengthen; fire is the steroid of the primary energies.

Weak Power: Fireball (not the kind in dungeons and dragons...Agumons pepper breath and such)

Strong Power: Fireball (the kind that explodes like in dungeons and dragons) or those cool pillars of fire.

Side effects may include: Fire users generally have a buffer appearance; the fire energy in their veins make their muscles grow larger than most digimon. On the down side, Fire users are often arrogant and have anger management issues. Keep valuables away from them...

Water: Stong in being versitile. Easy to form a shield with when defence is nessasary but only slight less capable of lashing out at those whom they don't need protection from.

Blue I mean aquamarine! I'll show myself the door.

Primary use: To produce* and then control the movement of water. (* not always nescarry)

Secondary use: Sedative_(it puts things to sleep)_

Weak Power: Water shield.

Strong Power: Tsunami...IN THE DESERT!!!

Side effects may include: Natural water users are usually more alert and active while awake; the sedation effect allows them to sleep better...but also heavier. Those that awaken latent water energy can find themselves extremely drowsy till they get used to it. Rarely, a water user will become reliant on their own energy and then adapt a need for more. This can lead to the development of insomnia unless they can find a way to acquire more water energy but can you really call that a cure?

Earth: This is specifically dirt. As you may have noticed stone is an element but some "rocks" serve as a kind of grey area. I'll explain better when I get to stone. Note that this stays together better than dirt so it's generally harder than ordinary dirt.

The slowest of the primary elements but also the hardest to break down. A single use of energy almost always results in something that will survive multiple attacks, preventing the need to constantly expend energy constantly throughout a battle.

Brown

Primary use: To lift and move earth.

Secondary use: Buffs resilience.

Weak Power: Throw "rock" or partial barial (like foot and not everything but the head. Possible but needs a large abount of engery)

Strong Power: Large scale earthquakes or fissures.

Side effects may include: Earth users are resistant to most disceases are simply harder to simply take down. On the downside, they're often larger and slower, making them easy to hit. Faster breeds are generally more defensive, using their earth energies to form shield and help them survive before retaliating without use of their ability.

Lightning: Lightning is extremely fast. It relies on being hard to hit, hard to dodge, and hard to predict. However, control can sometimes be shaky at best and is flat out reliable at long ranges. It doesn't doesn't do a great amount of damage, needing to hit constantly to have an effect. Can't be used defensively save boosting speed and dodging.

Yellow

Primary use: Summons an arc of ligning with which to strike at enemies.

Secondary use: Boost speed

Weak Power: lightning bolt or lightning fists

Strong Power: more bolts simultaneously, more control, or more frequent attacks is about all you can ask for with this element.

Side effects may include: Lightning users are generally slimmer due to their inability to remain inactive. If it has ADD, it likely has this energy flowing through it's veins. Not that they can't focus, they just have to do something about what they're focusing on. Try to keep them away from complicated machinery and panels with more than one button and whatever you do, don't let them near big red buttons!

Earth and lightning are different than most opposing elements. Rather than directly canceling each other out, their side effects make them ineffective against each other. Lightning has to expend huge amount of energy just to dent anything with earth energy while earth just simply can't hit lightning. Granted, they'll get lucky eventually if the latter decides he's not going to run away giving earth an official edge over lightning but it doesn't always win an otherwise even battle.

Light: Like lightning on more of a precise ray. Doesn't have the speed boost effect so they're not fast but in exchange are a good deal more powerful, though predictable.

White

Primary use: Solidify light into a weapon.

Secondary use: Heal

Weak Power: quick powerless ray to the eye to blind. Narrow powerfull ray that can pierce.

Strong Power: rays about the size of a person in diameter, glowing like the sun only on earth so you're really bright and shouldn't be stared at directly or indirectly.

Side effects may include: Light users have a thing for order. These little goodie two shoes would say that rules are made for a reason and follow the law to the letter. Their most common mental disorder is OCD. On the bright side, they're healing ability allows them to recover from injuries faster; sometimes fast enough to heal broken limbs in minutes.

Darkness: Almost entirely a supporting ability. It doesn't do direct damage but can make a target very hard to hit in a variety of ways.

Black

Primary use: Blind a target with "smoke"

Secondary use: become a shadow

Weak Power: Form a cloud around attack or self so that the attacker can't see where it's target is.

Strong Power: Shadow form: the user becomes gaseous in nature, the particles that make up it's body flowing freely in an area roughly occupied by it's body. It's still able to move as if it were solid but most attacks will simple pass through them.

Side effects may include: Dark users have trust issues. With their powers entirely relying on "just don't get hit" being caught off guard is almost always lethal. As if that's not bad enough, Dark energy is rather chaotic in nature. It can corrode it's bearer's mind and competely change the personality. However, this is about as common as insomnia riddled water users...unless the person doesn't natural use darkness energy (and thus is used to it's chaotic nature), then they're doomed.

Next week, I'll delve into the half-fire secondary elements in greater detail.
