DEAN'S APARTMENT, LA'FEU CITY

04:00AM FCT (Furlonian Central Time), JULY 2ND

It's a dark evening after a warm day in La'Feu City.

Dean sleeps on his bed, snoring and drooling a bit after a long day of parting.

The snoring got interrupted as his phone on the desk started to vibrate vigorously.

Dean mumbled and turned on his bed. "Just a little longer..."

The phone kept on vibrating. 'BZZ. BZZ. BZZZZT.'

His hand landed on the desk, searching for his phone. He grabbed it and hoisted in front of his face as he peeked through his sleepy eyes.

An unknown number was displayed on the screen. Dean sighed, knowing it was one of his friends playing a practical joke on him.

He stroked his neck and answered the phone with his deep voice. "He-hello...?" he mumbled.

"Dean, is that you?" said the voice between sobbing. "It's your mom...It's been so long..."

Dean rubbed his eyes. "Mom...?" he said as he sat up to hear it right. Sheets glided off of his upper body, letting his chest bare out. "...Oh, mom... how have you been? What's wrong?" he asked.

"Oh, there's nothing wrong with me, I'm just fine... Listen, I want you to go to the Library." said the saddened mom.

Dean looked at his phone screen and put it back near his ear. "Mom, its 4:05 in the morning. The Library is closed."

"I know, hun. But please go there..." said his mom with a clearer voice. It was clearly that her sobbing stopped. "The time is of the essence."

Dean yawned. "Right mom...first thing in the morning..." whereas his mom replied with a "Thank you." and hang up.

THE LIBRARY, CENTRAL LA'FEU CITY

10:30AM FCT, JULY 2ND

The door went open. It creaked since it hasn't been used in quite a long time. Dean entered the Library as he saw the big and spacious area. Aisles of books were neatly ordered under name, genre and edition. There were several stairs along both sides that takes to the aisles on the 2nd floor.

Dean walked over to the counter as he looked around, searching for employees of the Library. As he stood still in front of the desk, he saw a guest book with a convenient placed ink jar and writing feather on the left. 'Pretty classical.' he thought.

"Can I help you?" said a female voice behind him. Dean turned around who was talking. It was the Librarian. "Welcome to the Furlonian Library of La'feu City. Can I help you with something?" The Vixen clamed a book in one of her arms in order to prevent from falling.

"Uh, yes please. I was sent by my mom to pay a visit to this..." Dean looked around the Vixen to search for the compliment. "...interesting place." he continued.

"You were sent by your mom?" she said whereas Dean nodded to answer the question.

"Well then," The Vixen walked behind the counter and sat on the chair behind it. She placed the book in front of her. "may I know your last name?" She leaned over, her fingers resting on each other as her elbows made contact with the desk. Her chair creaked slightly, since the chair has aged also over time.

A little droplet of sweat clanged on Dean's forehead. He stepped slightly to the back. His muzzle showed a shyly smile. "It's Shaw." he answered.

The Librarian leaned backwards towards her chair and rocked back to the desk. She pressed a knob underneath the desk. She stood up and started to walk off to the back. "Come with me." she said as she looked back, swaying her tail leisurely.

Dean gulped and slowly walked behind her. He kept starting at the Vixens voluminous curves and tail. He started to think how hold she might be, yet his mind took him off to something else.

When they reached the back of the Library, the Librarian opened a door that was smartly hidden in the closet. "Please, enter." she kindly requested towards Dean.

Dean went through the door and came inside a small room. The room had old and worn books stashed behind glass in a cabinet on all walls. There, on the other end of the room, stood another desk with matching chair. Strangely though, it was facing_towards_ the wall. The Vixen closed the door behind Dean as she walked inside the room.

She turned the chair towards Dean and sat on it. "I'm guessing you have many questions why I brought you here, to this shady and dark room." Her eyes glared.

Dean nodded. "Yes, please. I like to know." he said as he slowly stepped back to the door. Not that it had any use since it was locked.

"Don't be afraid, Dean Shaw." said the Librarian. She smiled, stood up and walked to the cabinet on the left. "I won't bite, unless you want me to."

Dean blushed lightly. "H-How do you know my name?" he asked.

The Vixen chuckled. "I know many things. Let me question you - How old do I look to you?"

The Wolf looked peered his eyes to see better since its dark inside. She wore the everyday librarian outfit - plain black heels, a black/white checkered blazer with a white shirt beneath it and to top it off, a set of classical glasses - just how a librarian should dress like. Dean kept staring. His hand reached the back of his head.

"I'll be guessing that you are 40, maybe 45 years old?" he said.

The Librarian smiled. "Thank you for that compliment, Dean. But you're wrong..." she grabbed a necklace from one of the drawers of the cabinet and walked towards the lightly scared Wolf. "...My being, this library, it exists all over 200 years."

She handed over the necklace in Dean's hands. "Remember the book you saw in my hands?"

Dean nodded. "What was that anyway?" he asked, looking at the necklace.

The necklace was shaped like two stars - one inner and one outer star - made out of ruby and is held by a golden chain. The inner star gleamed red as Dean stared a bit intensely.

"That book," said the Vixen as she held Dean's head up, bringing his attention to her face. "belongs to your family. In it lies answers about your past, your family's past, and most of all... the markings you have on your body."

Dean shocked. He stepped back but there was no room to go to as he bumped with his back into the door. "H-How..." he stuttered. His eyes gave away that he got serious scared. He didn't told anyone - not even his parents - about his markings on his chest.

"Again, I know many things, my dear Dean." she smiled. "I know that this is going to be a weird day for you. But please, whatever you do, wear this necklace."

Dean nodded and put the necklace around his neck. The star lighted up more red as

Dean was done putting on the necklace.

A sound was made from Dean's watch he was wearing.

"You better leave now. It's already 12PM." she insisted as she moved a book on the shelf, making the door unlock and open.

Dean nodded and exited the room, back into the grand area stacked with shelves and cabinets of books, and passed by the counter.

"Wait, hold on." said the Vixen. "Take this book with you."

On the front cover of the book were black imprints of a drawing. The drawing had two Dragons - one on each side of the front cover - circulating a stick with in the center a star. The star had the same as the necklace. Dean looked at her and back at the book.

"Thank you..." he said and took the book with him.

DEAN'S APARTMENT, LA'FEU CITY

18:00PM FCT, JULY 2ND

6 hours after the strange encounter sat Dean half naked on his couch in the living area, watching the news. His body looked pretty toned, yet soft due to his fur. On his left peck - in mirror is that our right - was there two flame shaped markings. One of them is smaller and inside the other bigger flame. Whereas the inner flame didn't have any color, the outer does have a magma/peach blended color.

TV: "...And that was the report about the accident in the Gulf of Furlonia. Up next is the report about us Furs and our special powers! But now..."

Dean sighed as he turned the volume of the television down.'What a day...' he thought. He looked at his necklace. The star reflected some sunlight from outside into his eyes as Dean let his hand twist a bit to right. He twisted back and looked at the book on the table in front of him. He thought back at the event in the Library's back room. And about the Vixen.

'What was I thinking?' he thought. 'How does she know who I am? How did she know about my family? How come that she didn't age those two centuries? But most of all, how did she know about my markings?'

Dean held his hand in front of his left chest and sighed again. He leaned forward, bobbed his head down to think about the answers he was searching for, than looked up at the book on the table in front of him.

He leaned back again and grabbed the book. For a moment there was silence. Dean stared intensely at the imprints. Without noticing, started the star shaped necklace to glow again and so did his markings.

Dean focused on the imprints, and before he knows it, the Dragons started to move. The imprints looked at Dean as their bodies moved elegantly over the cover, towards Dean's hands.

Dean blinked for a second and everything returned back to normal. He rubbed his eyes and looked again at the cover, then turned the book to see if there's something on the back and turned it back to the front.'Should I?' he thought and opened the book.

Dean blinked again. "It's...empty?"

The pages were indeed empty, not a single spot of ink was detected. It was all blank.

Dean went through the book, but all pages were blank till the very last page.

The necklace gleamed red and shined vigorously. A beam of light radiated on the page as Dean closed his eyes for the harsh lighting of his necklace.

The lighting went dim and kept glowing. Dean opened up his eyes and couldn't believe what he was seeing.

The first page had sentences written:

"He who can wield the Book of Dragons has begun with a new adventure."

Beneath it was the following:

"Are you ready, Dean Leonard Raul Shaw, son of Natasha Bianca Veronica Shaw and Raul Stevenson-Shaw?"

A dotted line appeared beneath the sentences.

'A dotted line? For what? For me, to answer?' he thought.

Dean grabbed the pen from the table and wrote "Yes" inside the book.

The written word, along with the sentences above, got absorbed into the blank page. The book started to levitate out of Dean's hands and went vertically. The TV screen flashed some bars of black and white and static snow as the book closed itself and started to twirl itself around.

Dean's chest markings and the ruby glowed red as Dean felt a warm sensation. His eyes glowed yellow and went back to blue.

The book stopped twirling and felt back into Dean's lap.

The cover of the book was altered. One part of the five parts of the star imprint was fully black. Dean stared at it for a moment and tries to peel it off. But it had no use.

He opened the book again and searched for the sentences, but all pages were once again blank.

"That's it?" he said and threw the book to the couch's corner. He sighed again.'What a rip off...' he thought.

He turned back the volume on the television, and focused on that yet his mind couldn't shake the feeling what's going to happen with the book.

He didn't realized that the adventure has just begun after he signed the book.
