As soon as they got left Tails house Sonic took off like a shot with Tails flying close behind, Sonic was happy he was able to get his friend to agree to have fun. Tails had been so cooped up in his house working so long that he was beginning to worry. With any luck he could finally start acting like his normal cheerful self again soon, and before they knew it they made it to Amy's house they knocked on the door and found Cream there as well. Apparently they were planning on having a day of fun of their own and were about to head out, but as soon as Sonic mentioned about the festival she got so excited that she hugged Sonic and jumped up and down.

Amy- Oh Sonic we'd love to go, it will be just like a date!

Sonic- Y-yeah, sounds great.

Sonic said as he turned all red. Tails and Cream couldn't help but laugh, they found it funny how Sonic got so flustered around Amy when she talked about them dating. It was then Amy noticed Tails.

Amy- Hey Tails, great to see you finally out of your house.

Cream- Yeah, we were beginning to think we'd need to think you'd never come out of there.

Tails blushed and said.

Tails- Yeah, Sonic came over a little bit ago and convinced me to take a break. I've already made all kinds of things to keep Eggman from becoming more of a problem... Well, at least more than usual.

With that everyone just laughed and headed out to find Knuckles, soon enough they made it to Angle Island and found the Master Emeralds alter.

Sonic- Hey Knuckles, you up there?

Knuckles- Sonic, is that you?

With that he jumped and landed in front of them.

Knuckles- Hey guys what's up?

Sonic- Not much, just heard about a festival and we were coming to get you to come along.

Knuckles- Heh, sounds pretty lame to me. Do you know what it's about?

Tails- Now that you mention it, Sonic never explained that. Hey Sonic, what is this festival about anyway?

Sonic- I don't really know myself, but based on what I heard it's about this legendary stone that has the ability to grant anyone a wish.

Amy- Wow, a wish granting stone. That's so cool!

Knuckles- Yeah, now that does sound interesting. I wish I could go, but I can't just leave the Master Emerald, it's still recovering from the Metarex fiasco.

With that Amy went up to Knuckles and whispered in his ear.

Amy- Shh, in case you haven't noticed. Tails is right here!

Knuckles- Oh right, sorry Tails I wasn't thinking.

Tails looked down and said.

Tails- No, it's fine. You guys don't need to walk on eggshells around me, what happened is in the past. Besides, there is a chance she may come back.

Tails tried his best to be strong, but his friends could see a tear in his eye and knew that he was still in pain of her death.

Sonic- Yeah, anyway, let's get moving no time like the present after all!

Amy- Heh, still as impatient as ever it seems. So knuckles, you coming or not? Because I don't think Sonic's going to wait much longer.

Knuckles- Well, I guess the Master Emerald should be safe. After all, Rouge should leave it alone being it's in pieces. Besides, this wish thing has peaked my interest.

Sonic- Sounds good, let's go!

So with that the gang left for the festival, it was at the bottom of a hill, it had all kinds of decorations and about a hundred people going around booths eating all kinds of food and all around having a good time.

Cream- Wow, this place looks so cool!

Amy- Yeah, this place looks like it's going to be a blast.

Sonic- Last one there's a rotten Eggman!

Tails- Heh, we'll just see about that!

Amy/Cream/Knuckles- YEAH!!!

With that, everyone went down the hill to the festival and had a ton of fun, and played a few good games. Heck even Knuckles gave them a shot, his favorite was the strength test with a mallet and bell. Although, the person in charge of it kinda made a mistake telling him to hit the thing as hard as he could. Because he hit the dang thing so hard it not only hit the bell, but sent the bell into outer space! This created a bit of a commotion and caused his friends to laugh their heads off. After everyone finally calmed down they noticed that everyone else was heading to the main stage. Sonic went up to one of the people in the crowd and asked.

Sonic-Hey, what's going on?

Guy- I guess this is your first time?

Sonic- Yeah, me and my friends just heard about this festival. It was something about a wish granting stone?

Guy- That's correct, you see this festival's to honor the Stone of Hope.

Tails- The Stone of Hope, what's that?

Guy- I guess I should start from the beginning. Long ago, this town was on the brink of destruction. There was a massive drought that lasted for almost 5 years, many died from starvation.

Tails- How terrible.

Sonic- Yeah.

Guy- The leader of the town, Aaron became desperate and prayed every day for anything. That's when the heavens answered his prayers, and sent down a small stone. At first glance he thought it was just junk, but in a dream a spirit told him that the stone he had was a wish granting stone and had the power to grant a person one wish. Aaron didn't normally believe in those kinds of things, but he was desperate enough to try anything. So he wished with all his heart that it would rain and save his people, and then, the heavens opened up and rained for two whole days! His people were saved and the stone became known as "The Stone of Hope" for saving his people. Of course, soon after, people tried to get a hold of it to make wishes of their own and almost ironically lead to his people fighting over it. So Aaron took the stone away and buried it to protect people from it. Many have searched for it over the centuries, but it was never found.

Tails- If I was to find it, I could bring back Cosmo.

Sonic- Yeah, this could be your chance! Thanks, um. Oh yeah, we forgot to introduce ourselves. I'm Sonic and this is my pal Tails.

Guy- Oh I guess we did, I'm sorry. My name's Sora. Anyway, you said you'd use it to bring back a friend, did something happen. Sonic and Tails looked at each other.

Sonic- Yeah, you see.

Sonic explained what had happened with the Metarex and Cosmo.

Sora- Hmm, I'm sorry it had to have ended that way.

Tails wiped the tears from his eyes and said.

Tails-Thanks, she was a great friend and I miss her with all my heart. However, I've still got hope. The seed Sonic gave me sprouted and is getting bigger each day, but I still wish she was here.

Sora- You sound like a nice person Tails, I hope you find it.

Tails- Yeah, who knows I may do that. Anything's possible.

Sonic- That's the spirit!

With that they went their separate ways Sonic and Tails rejoined their friends and told them about The Stone of Hope. Unaware that they were being watched by a small eye shaped robot.

Eggman- Hmm, that's quite the story. However, I'll be the one who'll find it and the world will be mine!!!
