Cabin Break

Chapter 3: The Scent of Suggestion

Sam yawned and stretched under the covers of his bed. He had slept long and heavily, and though his tiredness slowly ebbed from him his mind quickly focused on his late night dreams. A certainty filled his mind that the angel in his dreams was the one he had drawn the previous day - his mother. Feeling energized, Sam rose from his bed and grabbed a t-shirt from the chest of drawers near by. Checking his clock before he left his room, Sam noted that it was only eight-thirty in the morning; a flare of hope surged through his mind, a hope that he might see his mother in her nightgown so early in the morning.

Opening his door he stepped out onto the upper floors walkway and gazed at the lower level of the cabin. At once his hopes were dashed then rebuilt anew as his mother stepped out of her room near the fire place. Not wearing the dark blue silk night gown he had expected to see; instead she was fully clothed but her choice of attire was certainly revealing. Sara wore a simple loose, washed out red t-shirt with a wide neckline and cut exceptionally high at the waist, if it could even be called that. It was so high, that Sam could clearly see the black bikini top she wore from under the shirt. She had also adorned a pair of blue jeans shorts that sat low on her hips and near the top of upper thighs; he could also make out the matching bikini bottom tiers sitting high on her hips. The pair of knee high, tanned Pocahontas boots with tassels running down their seams completed her look perfectly. She was tying her long dark hair back into a high pony tail then busying herself in the main room and hadn't noticed Sam as he began to descend the stairs. The wolfess nearly jumped with surprise as he announced his presence. "Morning Mom." He said as he suppressed a soft growl of attraction from his throat.

Sara steadied herself on the largest sofa and held her paw to her heart as she recovered from his unexpected appearance. "Good morning to you too handsome." She said softly and fixed him with a loving smile. Sam smiled back and crossed the room quickly to give her a hug. As he wrapped his arms around his mother he took care in where his paws finally rested and where they passed over. One arm looping around her shoulder, his paw brushing her hair aside, while his other arm gently slipped around her waist and pulled her closer. Sara had not expected such a loving gesture, but her paws almost perfectly mirrored his actions. They held each other for a long moment that became almost awkward as a deep silence began to engulf them. Sam quickly realized he had just been holding his mother for over a minute without a word or explanation. Sara likewise had held on to her son for what she felt was too long given their current situation. Taking the initiative and sparing her son further embarrassment; she gave him a soft kiss on the cheek that also seemed to take a little longer than she intended, then they eased apart from each other, offering shy smiles and nervous eyes as they finally parted.

Recovering first, Sara turned her smile into a motherly gaze. "Well that was nice; any reason I don't get hugs like that at home, Honey?"

Sam dipped his head, his ears falling flat against his head. "Sorry, I'm just feeling..." He paused for a moment as he thought of what to say. "I'm just feeling different today."

Sara smiled and gently stroked the side of his muzzle before giving him another motherly kiss. "Don't ever apologise to anyone for showing affection Sam; least of all when you're directing that affection my way." She nuzzled him softly for a moment before she continued. "It's nice to know you have a heart sometimes."

Sam raised his head; a look with a mixture of shock and disappointment crossing his features. "Hey, I have a heart." He said with confidence that ebbed as he continued. "I just don't have anyone to share it with yet." He finished his sentence with a low mumble. Suddenly, he felt her paw gently press against his chest and lightly scratch his fur through the material of his t-shirt. Sara fixed him with a smile that spoke of wisdom; it was a look he knew well. She had some experience or insight that was relevant to the conversation, but she would hold her tongue and leave him guessing for the moment. "Come on Mom, don't do that again." The young wolf grumbled.

Stepping around the couch and taking a seat, Sara patted the space next to her in a gesture for her son to join her. With nothing else on his mind or other distraction available, Sam moved to the front of the couch and sat next to his mother. She broke the silence for the second time that morning and again it was with an awkward question. "Sam." She said at length, drawing out the moment. Sam looked with wide eyes, waiting for the rest of the question. "Do you have a girlfriend at home?"

Sam whined softly to himself before he offered up his response. "Aw Mom, do we have to talk about this now?"

With a little more authority in her voice the question became a demand. "Just tell me Sam."

The young wolf's ears dipped and he looked away in shame. "No, I was hoping to ask Nhym out by the start of summer, but she's gone abroad for vacation and I know what she's like." Sara gave him a curious look that demanded more information, which he surrendered a moment after catching her eye. "She's quite open with guys, and she'll meet someone while she's away and be hung up on him for the next six months or more." He sighed softly and felt his mother's paw gently rub his knee.

"Is there anyone else you'd want to ask out?" Sara asked in an effort to boost his confidence.

Sam shook his head. "I would ask Gwen, but she can never settle on anyone." He gave a half snorted, derisory laugh. "She couldn't decide to the point where Arty and Lance stopped being friends for several months."

With a light touch of her finger tips, Sara turned Sam's head back to face her. She gave him a consoling smile and tenderly stroked his cheek. "A word from the wise Hun; don't worry about your high school romances too much. It's a rare occasion that you find the girl you'll be with in there." Her smile turned coy as she continued. "Wait until college, or find an older female if you want something more serious."

Sam could hardly believe his ears. "Are you mocking me Mom?" He said with a hint of suspicion at her words. She held a neutral expression as he tried to read her body language. "You're serious, aren't you?" He said quietly. Sara gave a subtle shrug and gentle bat of her eyelids. "You are serious." He said with a small amount of shock. Sam stood up and paced back and forth in front of the couch. "I can't believe I'm hearing this from my own Mom."

Leaning back on the couch, Sara looked up at him with a caring stare. "Well you have a lot of qualities an older female would like."

Sam stopped his pacing and shot his mother a questioning glare. "Such as?"

"Well, you're polite, intelligent, understanding and you like to listen." Sara stated quite bluntly; the weight of her words carrying deep into his thoughts.

Sam looked skeptical. "Listening, really?"

With a nod Sara continued. "You've listened to everything I've said and you're engaging in the conversation with me." Sara let a smile cross her muzzle as her gaze softened. "Being a good listener and getting involved mentally as well as physically in a relationship is a good thing Sam. It's why your father and I got on so well."

Sam sat back down slowly at the mention of his father. "I remember." Sam said quietly and stared into the empty hollow of the fireplace. Sara sat up and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, holding him in a loving and understanding embrace. "I don't think my generation cares too much about that though Mom."

Sara kissed her son's cheek and lightly scratched the back of his neck. "Its high school remember Hun, everything that has no importance to the real world is so important in these years to you and your friends. Once you've all grown a bit more, you'll see."

Sam gave a soft huff of breath. "I think I grew up faster."

Slowly, Sam felt his head being turned back towards his mother. They locked eyes for a long moment as Sara reached up and stroked his cheeks. "I know you did." She said softly and kissed him softly on the end of his muzzle; a loving kiss which he returned and leaned in closer, wrapping his arms around his mother once more. Sara pulled herself in closer to his embrace, brushing her thigh next to her son's. Sam said nothing; he only smiled over his mother's shoulder and held her tighter, an act that made her murr softly to herself. After a long moment of embracing Sara slowly pulled away and smiled at her son before giving a soft giggle.

Sam gave her a quizzical look. "What?"

Sara rubbed the bridge of his nose and stifled her giggling as best as she could. "I think you should take a shower Hun."

Sam looked confused for a moment then took a deep breath of his scent. "Why didn't you just say so, Mom." He said getting up and heading for the bathroom on the far side of the fire place.

Sara's giggling returned as she spoke. "I just did." She allowed a moment to pass before getting up and gathering breakfast for herself. As she collected her cereal and sat back on the couch to eat, she wondered how he was taking what she had said. He had clearly been affected by the mention of his father, but she hoped the subtle boost to his self esteem with her suggestions might make him a little more forward with her. He was certainly not lacking in physical contact, and neither was she.

As the minutes passed Sara realized Sam was taking a long time in the shower and when she finished eating, she removed her boots and moved to investigate. Padding quietly across the floor, she noticed that Sam had left the bathroom door open. Cautiously, Sara stepped closer as steam slowly rolled from the open portal. With a gentle shove she allowed to door to swing open a little further. Peering in she saw Sam's silhouetted form in the shower both washing himself with one paw, and masturbating furiously with the other.

Her breathing deepened. Observing what was happening before her; Sara stepped up and clung to the door frames side, pressing herself close to it. Just over the sound of running water Sam was huffing and grunting in time to his motions. Sara watched the movements of his silhouette and let her paw lightly trace down her body, teasing gently over her breast and stomach before the tips of her fingers slipped under the waist band of her shorts.

A moment of contemplation surged through Sara's mind as she opened her shorts and slid her fingers under the bikini within and gently stroked and her steadily moistening slit. For as brief a time has it had been that day, Sara had enjoyed a level of close contact with her son that had been absent in her life for some time. Simple contact alone had ignited a warm sensation within her, an affectionate hug making her feel more alive than she had in years. Her desire to rush into a fulfilling and definite sexual relationship with her son was quelled by a sudden understanding of what her true desire was. Security, love, and devotion to each other was what she wanted with Sam, but she also sensed on the edge of her thoughts something else; a glimmer of change, a moment of potential, a possibility from something greater between them.

As her fingers slowly sank into her slit, Sara felt herself come back sharply to current events. Turning around and leaning back against the door frame, Sara let out soft moans that were masked by the activity around her as she pleasured herself slowly, only meters from her son. Her ears flicked sharply as she heard Sam talking to himself in the shower. "Just once." Sam said with a lusty growl. "I want you under me just once." Sara drew in a deep breath as she sank her fingers as deep inside her warm tunnel and waited for him to continue. "It's too much Mom, you're such a tease." Sam finished with gasping breaths. Sara arched her back and allowed her tail to twitch wildly as his words sank in. She knew she had been physically more provocative around him recently and was glad it was having the desired effect. Now she wanted to explore other ways to increase their bond while keeping his attention focused on her. She'd make her move when the time was right. For now she was content to build up to her commitment to her son slowly; time, was on her side.

Straightening gradually; Sara stepped away from the bathroom and gathered her boots, her fingers still massaging and penetrating her slit. Returning to her room, Sara set her boots aside and retrieved a fresh pair of underwear from her dresser. With a slow satisfying pull she removed her fingers from her now soaked pussy and smeared her damp fingers inside the dark grey panties she had grabbed. Satisfied with the mess she had made and the strength of her scent coming from the garment, she quickly and quietly returned to the bathroom and tossed them on the floor in front of the sink. She turned and headed back to her room to settle herself and consider an activity that would bring them closer and forge a deeper understanding of each other.

Sam had just turned off the shower when he heard his mother's bedroom door close. He wondered what she was up to; then paused as he exited the shower seeing the wide open door. He had been sure he had either closed, or at least very nearly closed the door. He wondered if it had just swung open on its own due to his carelessness. A flashing thought passed through his mind and he wondered if his mother had seen him and what he had been doing. A moment of panic surged through him then, just as fast as it came, it passed. He relaxed; if his mother had caught him, she would have surely stopped him, he thought. Pondering this for a moment as he considered the opposite and wondered if she had seen and said nothing. A broad smile crossed his muzzle at the though of his mother watching him masturbate in the shower. The thought stirred his member to life once more as he became aware of a heady scent in the damp air.

Looking down he caught sight of a pair of his mother's panties; quickly he closed the door with care to be as silent as possible. His actions now barred from immediate observation he returned to the discarded garment his mother had left and scooped them up in his paw. The panties had barely been lifted half way from the ground when he took a deep breath and affirmed that it was his mother's scent and she was, or at least at some point that morning deeply aroused and in need of attention. Sam stroked his member several times and held the musty scented under-garment to his nose, identifying the scent even more keenly with every passing second. His tail wagged as he considered everything his mother had said that morning, and smiled; he wondered if she was seeing him as less of a son and more of a grown male. With a broad smile on his muzzle, Sam buried the thoughts deep in his mind as he dried himself and headed to his room his mother's panties held loosely in one paw. He ascended the stairs and closed to door to his room, utterly unaware that his mother had carefully watched from her barely open bedroom door.

The early afternoon sun beat down on the small family as they wandered the deep forest trails, happy just to be in each others company. Sara had been overjoyed when Sam agreed to accompany her on an afternoon walk, the first time he had agreed to do so since arriving at the site. She had been more impressed when he met her outside the cabin only wearing his long black shorts and dark tan walking boots, with a pale grey t-shirt tied about his waist. The look he had chosen had earned him a brief predatory glance from his mother that was quickly replaced by one of satisfaction and comfort.

From a distance, the two wolves might have been mistaken for a young couple as Sara occasionally held her son's paw. A deep feeling of appreciation settled inside her every time she reached for him and he didn't recoil in embarrassment as another teenaged male might have done. Though they had barely exchanged words since leaving the cabin; they had shared smiles and glances of family affection and closeness that had been harder to notice since the death of Sam's father. Their mood around each other had distinctly improved over the last few days. Since they had reached their understanding of changing family life, they made efforts to renew their closeness, both verbally and physically though with each of their secret motives.

While holding her son's paw; Sara pulled herself close to him as they walked, wrapping her arm around his. "Thank you for being here with me." Sara said in a quiet and slightly husky voice. Sam tilted his head towards her and smiled happily before leaning his head closer and nuzzling his mother's cheek and muzzle. Sara gave a happy sigh and pressed back, nuzzling him affectionately in return and favouring him with a tender kiss on the cheek. "What would I do without you?" She purred softly as she gave his arm a gentle squeeze.

Sam released his gentle grip of his mother's paw and wrapped his arm around her waist, his paw resting just above her hip. He gave her the shy smile of a young wolf in love who was trying to hide his feelings, and after a moment he addressed her question. "I don't know Mom, but it wouldn't be as fun if we weren't together."

A weight carried in his words that struck at Sara's heart like the head of a spear. She recalled birthdays, family trips, visiting friends, and even playing together when Sam was still a young cub. There had always been a close connection between them in their lives and Sara could almost read his thoughts through his eyes, and they mirrored her own sentiments.

With a gentle tug on his arm, Sara stopped where she was and stared at her son intently. Sam stopped and instinctively turned to face her, knowing she was about to say something. She paused for a long moment searching for words to say but in the end she softly stroked his cheek and stepped closer before placing her paws lightly on his chest and resting her head lightly on the curve of his shoulder. "Hold me." She said softly as she closed her eyes. The words had barely left her mouth when she felt Sam's paws rest on her hips then slowly wrap around her; his arms locking her into a warm and loving embrace. A soft shuddering breath escaped her as she pressed herself tight against her son's body; her arms slowly moving up and around his neck as her breasts heaved against his chest and her left thigh gently brushed against his leg.

They held each other for a long moment, time eagerly passing them by as they embraced. Sam's paws began to gently rub up and down his mother's back making her murr softly as she gently squeezed his shoulders. "I love you Mom." Sam whispered then drew in a deep breath pulling his mother close with an affectionate squeeze. He shuddered gently as Sara released a soft moan of appreciation from his words and his actions.

Nearly stiffening in shock, Sam felt his mother kiss then tenderly bite at his neck. It was a gesture of the utmost affection; he had known it since he was a small cub, but to receive it from his own mother in such a fashion. Sam wondered if the secret feelings he had been having for her were somehow already known to her and being acted upon. Slowly his mother pulled back from his embrace and cupped his face in her paws. She stared into his dark green eyes the way that only a mother could and gave him a curious smile before slowly kissing him on the end of his muzzle. Sam wanted to look surprised, but his body held him in a love struck, daydreamers stance until his mother pulled away and spoke again. "I love you too Sam." She purred huskily, while retaining her motherly tone. Sam gave her a wide grin and took her paw then started walking along the trail with her again. Sara wondered what was going through his mind and why he hadn't asked why she had just done what she had. She sensed he understood her actions, but was confused by her motive. Smiling inwardly; she knew that she would reveal her intentions to him soon enough.

Ahead, the wolves saw a sign and information block indicating a natural feature of interest. Closing on the block, they looked over the notice in silence. Sara smiled and gently scratched the base of her son's back, making the fur around his neck stand on end. "Wanna go to the waterfall?" She said playfully. "If you've got your camera, you can take pictures for the photo album."

Sam straightened; his mother's paw still gently scratching the base of his back. A shiver of excitement rippled through him as he thought he picked up a hint of suggestion in her words. He considered it for a moment; they were alone, and no-one else seemed to be in this area of the site. With all that had happened in the recent past, Sam surmised that anything could happen. Though the thought excited him greatly, he felt a tightness in his stomach; a nervousness that held him back from taking a step that could change everything. All he wanted, all he needed, was some word or gesture of assurance from his mother to proceed; a final instruction to open his heart to her and he would do it gladly. Sam tapped his pocket, his small digital camera making a light thump against his leg. "I'm good if you are."

Sara released his paw and began running up the narrowed path that was flanked on either side by heavy foliage. "Bet you can't catch me." She called back with a laugh that made Sam's heart soar with delight. "You're it!" She added.

Feeling invigorated by his mother's joyful sounds and the tenderness they had shared recently, Sam powered after his mother. Flashes of broken light and shade flickered over the pair of wolves as they ran; their laughter and panting filling the air. As Sam closed the gap he reached for his mother, but as she caught a glance of him over her shoulder, she dodged his touch and doubled back, running around him before dashing back up the path as he reached for her again.

Leaving the path and darting between trees and shrubs; Sara found it liberating to let go and enjoy herself once more. Her heart pounded in her breast and it brought her immense joy to know that a simple game of tag could make her feel so alive. She dodged and weaved between trees, occasionally doubling back before heading back to the path. As Sara broke through the tree line she noticed that she had lost sight of Sam and could hear no sound from him. She stopped to catch her breath and looked back through the woods in the direction she had moved. She was about to head back into the undergrowth when Sam sprung out from behind a large bush, sprinted towards her and tagged her shoulder as he ran by calling "Tag."

Caught by surprise but not unprepared; Sara turned into his run and gently swatted his stomach calling back "Tag." then took off running again; dodging and overtaking him before he could strike back. She heard Sam growl to himself at being the chaser once more and so quickly but the sound died with the rush of air and their quickly building laughter.

The game lasted several more minutes as they continued up the path; occasionally leaving the dirt trail and bolting in and out of the near by tree line. Still being chased, Sara broke into a wide expanse as the trail neared its end. Slowing herself to a stop she took in a sight of natural magnificence; a grand waterfall, nearly one-hundred and fifty feet in height spilled down a rugged cliff face in several steps. At the bottom of the waterfall there was a deep pool that stretched at least sixty feet across and Sara guessed at least thirty feet in depth. A connecting stream flowed away from the far side of the natural water basin and Sara assumed that it flowed to the main lake through the deeper forest. The flora surrounding the waterfall was thick and lush; she had expected to hear an echo of her foot falls or some reverberation of her laughter from before, but the heavy foliage seemed to absorb the sound. Aside from the tumbling water and light rustle of leaves, there was little other sound that seemed to escape the area.

Caught unaware, Sara felt her son gently bump into her from behind, making her take a step forward. His arm loped over her shoulder and his other paw gave her backside a firm but gentle spank. "Tag." Sam said with a heavy breath of exhaustion, his action making Sara skip forward in surprise. "I win, you stopped." He huffed heavily.

"Hey." Sara yipped back with a tone that quickly turned from shock to suggestive. She shot Sam a glance over her shoulder with a playful smile and what Sam could only guess was a wink. "You going to keep your paw there all day?" She remarked quickly.

Sam smarted from her statement, stepping back and removing both his arm and his paw from her. "Sorry." He panted. "Tired; not thinking."

Sara smiled and nodded towards some near by rocks. "Take a seat; we're here." She said calmly, her breathing almost back to normal.

Sam sat on the nearest formation of rocks; more a crumpled boulder than a series of individual stones. As he gathered his breath he took in his new surroundings and looked on in awe. "It's beautiful; I'm surprised it wasn't in the brochure."

Sitting next to him; Sara leaned back, resting her paws on the rocks behind her making her back arch gently and her heaving chest more exposed as the material of her shirt rode up gently, revealing the black bikini beneath more clearly. "Well it did say more hidden treasures and sites to discover, in there." She said with deep breaths. "I could see myself living here, it's just so peaceful."

Sam turned at her remark and watched her stretch her legs as she continued to hold her backwards lean. "Am I included in that, or would you wait until I headed for college?" He said with a humorous smile.

Sara laughed and reached across to him then gently scratched behind his ear. "You're always welcome under my roof Sam; no matter where it is." She said with a reassuring tone even though she had taken his question in the humor it had been offered. "I'd never shut you out."

Sam leaned into her touch for a moment before they both pulled away and stood to better observe the natural wonder. Sam pulled his camera from his pocket and began taking pictures from different angles. Sara posed for photos for him so they would have memories to add to another photo album at home, she had even swapped positions with Sam so she could have his picture to add to the collection. Occasionally Sam set a timer on the camera and they took a picture together; they stood hugging, side by side, or one sitting and the other standing. They took their time exploring the area and enjoying pleasant conversation until Sara approached the waterfall and noticed something unusual.

As Sara stepped up to the tumbling water she noticed something about the cliff face that she hadn't seen before. Pressing her paw to the still dry stone at the edge of the waterfall she brushed her paw closer to the water. With a gasp of surprise she discovered that there was a section of the cliff face that appeared to be missing. She stepped closer on a wide ledge and placed her paw back on the stone surface, following it as it dipped away.

A sudden realization struck Sara as she followed her guiding paw. She had stepped passed a naturally occurring optical illusion that masked a deep cave behind the waterfall. As she stood in the mouth of the cave it struck her as somewhat unusual. While there was damp around her, it didn't seem to extend as deep into the cave as she had expected; not only did that puzzle her, but she found that even though the water refracted a good portion of light from entering the cave, it was surprisingly well lit. Curiosity nipped at her mind and she stepped further into the stony structure. About thirty feet into the cave she came across a natural rock formation that resembled a large alter, it had been eroded to a near flat surface but it still sat unevenly. Sara climbed on top of the formation and lay back, propping herself up on her elbows. She felt almost primal lying back on the stone; as if she were some spirit that was due worship and her commands would be obeyed by a few dedicated servants. She shook her head; not servants, a single loyal sympathizer who shared her situation.

Closing her eyes she let her imagination take over; Sara allowed the sound of running water to fill her mind and it had a slow but definite effect. She imagined she was the water and she moved through her element with a speed and grace that should be impossible. She brought her gaze to the surface and she saw Sam approaching; only it wasn't Sam as she knew him. He seemed older and more heavily built; a heavy fur and skin cloak with raven feathers inset about the neck and shoulders, was clasped tightly around him. He looked around for a moment then gazed into the water as if he saw her; he stretched out his paw and she felt compelled to join him. Reaching for him and rising from the water she felt naked, but didn't care; it was if it were the most natural thing she had ever done. She stepped closer to him and felt strangely dry as she brushed the cloak from his shoulders and began to remove his clothes. "My Lady." He said with a low comforting growl. The depth of his voice made her shudder pleasantly as she stepped closer still. She shook her head and was about to whisper into his ear - 'Mother.'

"Mom, where are you?" Sam called out with concern.

Sara came back to her senses upon hearing his voice, almost as if she had broken free of a spiritual trance. Her chest heaved with the images that raced through her mind and she wondered if in some way they might come to pass. "In here Hun." She called back then slipped off the stone formation and moved to the cave entrance. She caught sight of Sam and beckoned him to follow her. "You need to see this, it's amazing in here." She barked.

Following some brief instructions from his mother, Sam followed the small path behind the waterfall. He was quite taken aback by his new surroundings. To Sam, the cave felt more like a passageway even though some sixty feet away he could clearly make out the rear wall. Taking note of the alter-like formation of stone Sam approached and looked at the object curiously. "It's a bit strange don't you think?"

Sara looked at her son with questioning eyes. "What do you mean?"

"This," he said pointing at the formation. "Doesn't it seem odd to you that the rest of the cave is almost flat and this is just randomly here?"

Sara nodded. "Any idea what it might be?"

Sam took a look through the rest of the cave, poking at surfaces and pondering why things were as they were. "It all looks natural; I just have a feeling there's been work done in here at some point in the past."

Sara stepped next to her son and gently laid a paw on his back. "Maybe it was an old smugglers cave." She said softly.

Sam nodded and then shrugged. "Who knows, that could have been a table for all we know." He said pointing at the large roughly square formation of stone before he moved back towards the entrance of the cave.

Sara moved back to the natural stony slab and sat on its edge before leaning back. "Maybe it was a bed." She suggested. "If you threw a few thick blankets over this you could have quite a comfortable sleep." With a grin, Sam lifted his camera and took a picture of his mother. "Hey!" She barked. "At least let me pose first."

Sam chuckled to himself. "Sorry Mom, you just looked too cute."

"Oh?" She said quizzically. "Well how about now?" Sara sat up and pulled one leg close to her, resting her chin on her knee and let one leg extend off the stone surface as she trailed her fingers on the stone behind her. Sam was at a loss for words as he tried to focus the camera, while his mother slowly batted her eyelashes at him. "I'll take your silence as a yes then." Sara purred.

Sam stood frozen to the spot at his mother's words and his own slip of the tongue. He took the picture and as he recovered from the shock of her words, marvelled at the perfection of the digital image. Catching his eye Sara gave her son a sultry smile before rolling on to her stomach and striking another pose. Unable to resist the temptation Sam snapped another photo, then another and another as Sara quickly kept pace striking several more poses. She could see a deep blush on Sam's cheeks, even through his light grey fur and after nearly thirty photos she knew he would be thinking about her intently, so she decided to finish with one last pose to raise the stakes.

With deliberate slowness, Sara removed her boots, t-shirt and shorts, leaving only her black bikini clinging to her body. She sat back on the stone formation again, crossing her legs and propping herself up as she rested her paws on the smooth surface of the rock. Giving her hair a flick, she locked her eyes to Sam's and smiled playfully at him as the tip of her tail lightly swayed back and forth.

Sam's eyes went wide as he watched the scene unfold before him; He never thought he'd see his mother behave like was now. The young wolf stood drinking in the sight for over a minute before his mother spoke softly. "I'm ready for my close up." Sam came back to reality and took the picture and then several more.

Sara smiled to herself knowing that Sam was having a hard time deciding what to do. She knew it was cruel to do it but as the camera clicked again and again she giggled softly knowing her son's attention was well and truly focused on her now. She suddenly dropped the pretence of being Sam's amateur model and got off the stone formation. Sam stood nervously as his mother approached him, his words rushing out as he spoke to her. "Mom, why did you do that?"

Giving her son a neutral stare; Sara gently patted his neck. "Well you wanted to be a photographer a few years ago; I just wanted to see how you'd handle that kind of situation."

"Could you warn me next time?" Sam said sheepishly, his ears falling flat against his head.

Sara gave him a playfully surprised look and raised her eyebrows. "So you want there to be a next time?" she purred softly.

The words took a second to sink in before Sam panicked and blurted out words uncontrollably. "NO! Wait... I didn't mean. How could... Uh, you could..."

As the torrent of words continued to spill from her son's mouth Sara took the camera from him and fixed his gaze back to her with a gentle grasp of his chin. "Sam, Honey." She paused letting her words hang in the air. Sam stopped his muttering and waited for her to continue. "I think you need to cool off a little." Sam was about to reply when his mother gave him a heavy shove through the tumbling water.

Sam found himself in the basin at the front of the waterfall. He was glad that even though his mother's prank had come unexpectedly he had taken a deep breath before he had hit the water. There was a brief surge of annoyance through him as he knew how uncomfortable he would be walking back to the cabin even with the relatively little amount of clothes he wore. Raising his head out of the water and drew a quick breath as he watched his mother leave the cave and set down the camera and her clothes. He grinned then began to swim to the shallows closest to his mother, where she turned to see him and smiled. "That was cruel." He said with a grumble.

"Oh come on, don't be a stick in the mud." Sara fussed back at him as she waded into the water and reached out to him

Sam found his footing and began to step towards her. Quickly he snatched his mother's wrist and yanked her off her feet and into the deeper pool. She squealed as the cold water enveloped her and flailed briefly at the sudden change of temperature. Sam chuckled to himself and sat on a large boulder under the water leaving his head, shoulders and chest exposed to the air. "Now we're even."

Sara calmed herself and began to tread water as she faced her son and gave a quiet chuckle of her own. "I deserved that." Sam nodded and opened his arms in a peaceful gesture. With a loving smile Sara swam closer to her son then sat in his lap, wrapping her arms around him. "I'm sorry Hun. No more silly pranks, ok?"

Sam nuzzled his mother lovingly as his paws rested on her waist and thigh; their wet fur feeling heavy and clumping together. "Nah, just a few less of them would be fine with me." He said with a throaty chuckle and pulled his mother closer.

Sitting back and cupping his cheeks; Sara gave him a tender loving smile. "Agreed." She said softly then kissed the end of his muzzle. "I love you Sam." She whispered as she fell back into a loving hug with her son.

"I love you too Mom." Sam whispered back as he gently squeezed his mother in his grasp. A short while later the two wolves left the pool and dried themselves as best they could before gathering their belongings and heading back to the cabin; both of them mentally marking the location of the waterfall for the future and their own plans. They strolled back at a leisurely pace both choosing to walk bare footed as they joked about their pranks and games.

* * *

Sara lay in bed wearing a black tank top that was cut above the bottom of her ribs and a simple pair of black panties. Her heart was thundering in her chest; she could hardly believe what the two of them had gotten away with that afternoon. She bit her bottom lip softly as she imagined Sam's paws slowly roaming her body again oblivious to the fact she was doing it herself.

The tension was becoming too much for Sara, but she knew she had to find out just how close she could get. Her body was craving more; the physical contact they had shared was intensely satisfying and she had allowed Sam far more access to her than she would have previously. It wasn't quite enough though. She sensed Sam's feelings for her were mirroring her deepening affection for him, there was just one more barrier to break; and it was the hardest one - their own nerves.

Need was taking over once more; Sara writhed on the covers of her bed as she inwardly begged to have Sam's cock in her paws once more, his heady scent filling her senses. She moaned quietly to herself as her paw drifted down her body and gently stroked her slit through her panties. Rolling onto her front; Sara pushed herself up on her knees and gripped her bed sheets firmly in one paw. She stroked her slit furiously hoping for a release; when it became too much she drove her fingers into her hot tunnel, teasing yet more excitement from her own body. Still, it wasn't enough. The wolfess whined softly to herself as her tail twitched wildly. Words began to form under her breath and her toes curled as she finally gave voice to her desire. "I want my son to mate me." Her words spoke of the physical but she meant so much more; the love, desire, and passion of a relationship, the spiritual connection and the ever lasting bond. She wanted it all in her life once more.

The tension in her body was beginning to overwhelm Sara; through gritted teeth she let out a muffled squeal, but still found no release. Sitting up on her knees she sobbed tearlessly as her heart began to ache. She mouthed wordlessly asking for forgiveness from her deceased husband for what she had done and what she was now about to do.

Pulling herself from her bed she quietly crossed the room and swiftly opened her door, heading for the stairs. She stopped suddenly as she realized she was not alone in the main room. "Sam?" She said with surprise, catching his silhouette at the bottom of the stairs and facing her direction. "What are you doing up this late?"

The young wolf stepped forward into the moonlight. "Me? What are you doing up this late and where were you going?"

A tightness gripped Sara's stomach; the truth wouldn't do here and she could already feel the tightness turn into a nervous tremble. "Don't turn this around Sam, I asked you first." Sara said trying to mask a tremor in her voice.

Sam blinked for a moment as he observed his mother, her pale fur illuminating against the moonlight. "I uh, I was going to get a midnight snack." He finally retorted.

There was a lie in his words and Sara knew it. She wondered if Sam had been coming to try his luck with her once more as she was about to with him. She pointed behind her son and nodded slightly. "The kitchen's that way Hun." She said, almost unable to hold back the nerves in her tone.

"Oh, right. Sorry I'm a little dozy right now." Sam said back softly; a visible nervous shudder running through him as he spoke. Sara's heart raced once more; his sharp wide eyed look confirmed that he was lying again. From what she could guess, he had been lying awake in his bed as long as she had. She then wondered what might have happened if she had arrived in his room to find him awake.

Sam noticed his mother's eyes widen and curiosity returned to him. "So where were you going?" He asked again softly, with a measure of calmness returning to him.

Sara pulled her paws to here chest as she quickly though of a reply. "I was, I was heading to the bathroom." She said at speed.

It was as if events had suddenly flipped around as Sam raised his paw and pointed behind his mother. "Bathroom is that way, Mom." He said flatly. In his mind he knew she was lying, but then it meant they both were. The fur on the back of his neck stood on end with nervous excitement, wondering if his mother was coming to see him in his room.

"Sorry I got turned around in the dark." Sara said quietly as she dipped her head slightly and bit her bottom lip. An awkward silence descended on them as they stared at each other. Sara's eyes trailed over her son's body; his dark and pale grey fur looking a little rough in places. She could hardly complain; after their brief swim at the waterfall earlier that day they hadn't dried off properly and their fur had begun to matt in several places. It was something to be dealt with in the morning though. Sam likewise gazed at his mother, his eyes burning the image of her fur radiating soft blue light into his mind. He had hoped to lie next to her for a while and explore her body, but being caught in the open suddenly ruined his chances.

Breaking the silence Sara spoke up and hugged her waist firmly, trying to gain back some of her motherly presence. "Okay, you can have a snack, but only something light. Got it?" Sam nodded and headed into the kitchen. Silently they both breathed a sigh of relief but as Sam finished gathering his snack and a glass of milk he turned to see his mother still standing where she was.

"Mom." He said curiously. Sara nearly jumped when he spoke to her again; her moment of relief had briefly taken her over and she felt unable to move until Sam's voice rung in her ears. "Weren't you going to the bathroom?" The young wolf asked.

Sara nodded and gave a sharp breath. "Yes; sorry you gave me a scare when I stepped out of my room." She turned and headed for the bathroom to make her story seem legitimate as possible. Turning on the light and closing the door; Sara pressed herself against the wall and tried to steady her breathing once more. She listened intently to Sam's activities in the main room; he ate something quickly and noisily before returning his plate to the kitchen and heading back up stairs to his room. When his door closed she breathed a sigh of relief then stared at herself in the mirror.

Everything she was; was laid bare before her. A loving mother caught in an unusual situation, both nervous and confident of what she wanted. Sara watched a single tear roll down her cheek as her emotions welled up and rushed through her. She didn't cry out or sob, but inside she felt a pain of the heart that she had never felt before. She knew something had to be said soon or the turmoil in her mind would leave her as an emotional wreck.

Calming herself once more, she caught sight of a large wire brush lying next to the sink. It was for combing out snags in fur and it had always been a good way to spend time with a loved one; to help brush out the awkward places one person couldn't reach and build a bond of trust. Sara smiled. And took a deep breath; she had a plan for the morning.
