It felt like a long time since the gang helped Cosmo save the galaxy from the evil Metarex and as the planets wounds began to slowly heal. Everyone's lives returned to normal. That is, except for a small fox named Tails. During the chaos of the battles that took place, he fell deeply in love with her and when the time came for her to sacrifice herself, he was left heartbroken. Months past and even though he tried his best to hide it, his friends could see that he missed her terribly. Because of this, he treasured his friends more than ever especially his deepest friend Sonic.

One day Sonic heard about a strange festival going on not far from them and decided to bring Tails and his other friends for a day of fun, but more importantly to lift his friend's spirit. So he walked in Tails house and called to him

Sonic-Tails, you home?

Tails- In here Sonic!

The voce came of course from his friend's workshop where he spent most of his time.

Sonic- There you are.

Tails- What's up?

Sonic- Not much, I just heard about a festival going on today not far from here and thought I'd take you guys.

Tails- Thanks for the offer Sonic, but I'm much too busy. We've gotta be one step ahead of Eggman.

Sonic looked at his friend and said.

Sonic-Tails, you're in here working every day. It's not healthy. I know you're still grieving over Cosmo and are trying to keep yourself busy to cope, but if you just shut yourself out of the world. It won't make it any better.

Tails stopped what he was doing and turned to his friend.

Tails-...I know, it's just I miss her so much.

Sonic looked down and said.

Sonic-We all do, Cosmo was a great person, and even Eggman didn't want things to end that way. However, it was the only way, and she wanted you to do it.

A tear ran down his eye

Sonic- You may have been the one who pulled the trigger, but me and Shadow were the things you fired. I'm sorry, I wish I could've done something, but we both knew it was the only way.

Tails looked at his friend, he didn't cry often and it proved that he was feeling just as terrible about her death as he was. With that he caught Sonic off guard and hugged him.

Tails-Sonic, I'm so sorry. All this time I've been trying to cope by myself. You're always there for me, I don't know what'd I'd do without you! I know you did everything you could; I just wish I could somehow return the favor for you and be there for you, like you're there for me.

Sonic- Tails, you're a great friend. If it wasn't for you and your inventions Eggman would've won a long time ago!

Tails blushed and said.

Tails- Thanks Sonic, you always know how to cheer me up.

It was then he noticed the pot in Tails window that had Cosmo's seed in it. It had sprouted a leaf and was growing bigger each day. Tails looked where he was staring and saw the plant.

Sonic- Who knows, we may see her again one day.

Tails- I hope so Sonic, I really do. Anyway, I guess I could use a break let's go to that festival!

Sonic smiled and said.

Sonic- That's the Tails I know and love.

So with that, Tails turned off the lights and locked up and followed Sonic to the rest of his friends house's to greet them and tell them about the festival. Where they were sure to have a blast!
