"Why are you running away? You're only delaying the inevitable. Why not just give up now, it'll be easier for the both of us." The colossus of ooze taunted the weak Pegasus who was running for his life as fast as he possibly could, even though the strange giant was putting no real effort into catching him. The monster was not chasing him, merely waiting for his prey to break, both physically and mentally. Lance knew it would not be long before his body gave out from exhaustion and be forced to welcome whatever this creature had in store for him.

Meanwhile, a good few miles away Glaive had started following the trails of disaster bought on by the oozing beast. "They have got to be here somewhere." He fearfully muttered to himself. "Lance, Lance. Lan..."

Glaive had been knocked down by the tremendous force of the first giant he encountered. "Please... d...don't go. Y...y...your friend... he is l...lost." the creature surprised Glaive by speaking; "I was l...like you once. I trusted it!" it screamed as it suddenly lost its composure, only to regain what little it had to begin with. "It... It killed who I was, Sto... stole my life. H...he will have me...meet the same fate."

Glaive struggled with all his might to break free of the giant mass that was crushing his body to ground, all seemed lost for him and lance. A spear whistle through the air, the beast atop him roared and fled. Glaive looked up to see a swaying Pegasus, barely able to keep himself afloat. "Lance, are you alright?" Glaive asked as he could no longer go on and plummeted.

With lance carefully balance on his back he turned to the one pony he knew would be out here, Trixie. A load knocking bellowed at the trailer door as the Blue unicorn answered. "Please, Trixie, my partner is in grave condition. Please help." the Grey unicorn pleaded.

"I'm sorry but the Great and Powerful Trixie does not give hoof outs." She proclaimed proudly to the shocked face of Glaive. "But, as Trixie is felling generous today, Trixie might be able to lend a helping hoof." Glaive prepared to step inside. "There is a Zebra at the edge of the forest towards Ponieville with strange herbs that should help." She said as she slammed the door in his face.

Skirting the border of the forest trying to find this Zebra and doing what he could to avoid the deathly duo they had escaped, Glaive cursed Trixie's name to Tartarus and below. After Celestia knows how many insults he had thrown her way he had found a strange hut on the border of the forest. He had bolted up to it and pounded his hoof on the door. "I don't usually get a visitor, but why do you knock so loud at my door." A king voice responded from within.

"My friend is badly hurt and I was told you could help, can you?" he asked, now just realising that if Trixie was lying his friend could possibly die.

"Of course my dear, have no fear." She said as she opened the door. "Come into the light, and tell me of your plight."

"Well, me and lance," he signalled to the pony balanced on his back. "We were investigating the claims of the beasts in the forest, and that's when we got attacked by them." Glaive explained as he trotted inside.

"Put him down by the fire, before you tire. I shall get him something, but let's hope it's nothing."
