Oh my, we have something new.

Another story that takes place in the world of Jonestown. This one telling the story of a few new characters, a little something to grow the world and a few other things.

Jonestown, Characters and stuff are mine.

"Rachel are you ready?" The older bobcat asked, looking down at her daughter, smiling at the sight of the young girl as she made her way down the aisle, squeezing between the pews.

"I am momma." She said happily as she looked up to her. The little bobcat was dressed in a light blue sun dress, short socks and little black shoes, perfect clothes for this nice spring afternoon.

"I bet someone wants to stop by the playground." A rumbling male voice came from behind them, belonging to the father bobcat.

"Oh daddy, can we?" The little girl asked, bouncing around happily as the family made their way down the aisle, to the front of the church.

"What do you think?" The father, Tory said looking over to his wife, Annie. His arm reaching out and wrapping around her shoulder.

"Oh momma, please." The little kitten stopped in front of the two, looking up with her lovely lilac eyes.

"I think it sounds like an amazing idea." Annie said smiling as she reached out and ruffled her little girl's red hair.

"Oh thank you!" Rachel squealed out as she rushed ahead of her parents, stopping at the family car.

The mother cat smiled as she walked up to the passenger's side door, her husband going to the driver's side, unlocking the door, and then unlocking the rest of them. With a little help from her mother Rachel was lifted into the five point car seat, getting strapped in.

"Mom, I'm too big for this." The little girl mewled out, wiggling just a little bit as she was buckled up.

"Not just yet." Annie said smiling as she stood up and closed the door, and getting into the front passenger seat.

Tory started the car, the engine sputtering to life as he shifted into reverse and start backing out of the parking spot, and then throwing it into drive, carefully making his way out of the parking lot. The family started driving down the highway, making their way to Jonestown park, soon coming to a red light, slowing to a stop.

"So sweetie." Annie said as she turned in her seat so look at her little girl. "Are you ready to go back to school?" She asked smiling, knowing that spring break would be coming to an end next week.

Soon the light turned green and Tory let off the break and started pressing on the gas. Suddenly the air filled with the sound of a horn. By the time that Tory figured out that it was coming from a runaway truck it was too late. The front of the smaller family sedan got caught under the back wheels of the truck, causing it to jackknife and flip onto its side, part of it crushing the front side passenger seat, crushing part of the front driver's side. Once the whole train wreck came to an end, the majority of the front of the car was crushed under the truck.

"Daddy!" Rachel squeaked out, coughing, a strong chemical scent feeling the air, the little girl's eyes starting to burn and water.

"I'm here baby." Tory's voice came in a weak coughing fit. "Annie... Annie." He called out as he reached over to shake her. "Annie... Please answer me." He begged, but she didn't respond.

"Daddy, is... momma.... Ok?" The little voice came again. "Why isn't she answering?" She managed to squeak out before coughing and gasping for air, the strange chemical scent getting stronger.

"I don't know sweetie, but it will be ok." He said, sharing the same trouble breathing.

It wasn't long after that, the area fill with the sound of ambulances, fire trucks and police cars started filling into the area. The darkness creeping into both of their visions, the darkness covering the little one's vision the fastest. Countless onlookers watched the chaos that was unfolding, the fire fighters struggling to get close to the car, ripping the doors off with the jaws of life, freeing the bodies of the family trapped with in, doing the same for the driver of the truck. Once everything was in order the ambulances rushed away, heading for Jonestown Memorial.

At the hospital there was a flurry of activity, doctors rushing around, making calls and gathering what info they could, the nurses cleaning and prepping the OR, and the rooms for the family that was coming from an accident. All of them knowing that it was going to be a long day, and night for them.

Days later, things finally seemed to calm down with the family that was brought in, well the two of them that lived. The mother hadn't made it, she was pronounced dead on the arrival, crushed to death, the majority of her upper body took the brunt of the hit, shattering bones, thankfully her death was instant.

The father was a little more stable, though it wasn't much and the doctor's out look for him wasn't the best. Multiple broken bones all over his body, punctured lung, and a number of other things, not to mention the havoc that the chemicals could be causing.

The girl was the most stable of the two, thanks to the car seat that she was kept in, she got out with a broken leg, and a few scrapes and bruises, though it seemed that the chemicals had taken the worst toll on her, like the father, the doctors were unsure of the extent of the damage.

"How is she doing?" The tall, lanky wolfcat asked, glancing over to the nurse. The wolfcat, her pointed feline ears turning and swiveling around, taking in the sounds of the room, the black tipped, red ears listening to the beeps and other noises that the machines made. Her long brown hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, adding to her air of professionalism, her heterochromatic eyes glancing over the papers on the clipboard. The info there in caused a frown to appear on her black furred muzzle.

"She is doing better than her father, her breathing is strong and getting stronger, I think that she can be taken off the ventalator." He said, looking at the sleeping bobcat. "Her leg is healing up nicely, the only thing is..." He paused for a moment. "It seems that the chemicals had an effect on her."

"And what effect might that be?" The doctor said, standing at the sink, washing her black furred hands before going over to dry them.

"Well, it seems that she has lost her sight." He said walking over to the girl, putting his hand on her shoulder, nudging her softly. "Sweetie, We're going to take the breathing tube out, we need you to take a deep breath and hold it."

"Have you told her?" The wolfcat asked as she walked over, one hand holding to tube, starting to pull it out. "About her sight and..." Her tone dropped to a whisper. "Her mother?" She asked, finishing pulling the tube out and setting it to the side, hearing the kitten coughing and gasping as she got used to breathing without the tube.

"No, we have had her eyes covered, so, all that she has seen is blackness." He said turning and helping the girl sit up, holding the glass to her lips, letting her sip the water.

"Well, I guess that I will handle that." She said as the nurse moved the glass away from her lips and sat it on the table.

"Paging Dr. Shanoa, we have a code Blue in room two fourteen." A voice echoed over the intercom. "Repeat, Paging Dr. Shanoa, we have a code Blue in room two fourteen."

"Well, it looks like you get to tell her." The wolfcat said, jerking up and heading to the door, "good luck." She said as she rushed out the door and started running down the hall, full sprint.

Room two fourteen was a flurry of activity by the time that Shanoa ran from the children's ward to the adult ward of Jonestown Memorial, it was a good thing that she like to keep fit by running. Pushing her way past the nurses and into the room, she was greeted with the sight of an older, male bobcat laying limp in the bed, people moving around him.

"What's happening?" Shanoa asked as she rushed up to the bedside, looking to the heart monitor, seeing that he was flatlining.

"His oxygen levels started dropping and that just lead to everything else failing." One of the other nurses said.

"So you're telling me that he is going into complete system failure?" Shanoa barked out, grabbing the defibrillator from the crash cart.

"Not complete." The other doctor said, setting the number of jewels on the defib unit. "It's just his heart and lungs that are going."

"Increase the output on the ventilator." She hissed out, rubbing the paddles together. "Clear!" She called out as she pressed the paddles to his chest and pushed the button, sending a jolt of electricity through his body, causing him to jerk up.

"Nothing, still flat lining." One of the nurses called out.

"Shit." The wolfcat hissed under her breath. "Again, Clear!" She called out as she pressed the paddles against his chest and sent another jolt through him.

"Still nothing." The nurse said, looking from the monitor to Shanoa. "If you keep up, there is the risk of him suffering long term damage."

"Come on, you have a kid, you have to live for her." Shanoa hissed out as she pressed the paddles against his chest one last time, shooting another jolt through him.

"Call it. Time of death. nine forty AM, April tenth." The other doctor said, his voice putting any further action by Shanoa to a halt.

"God damn it." The wolfcat cursed, looking down, before flinging the paddles in her hand at the wall, nailing an unlucky intern in the process.

"It's not your fault." She heard someone telling her, she knew that it wasn't her fault, that wasn't what had her upset.

"I know that." She said turning and starting to walk to the door. "I'm not upset over that, it's the child that he's leaving behind." She said stopping at the door. "She lost her sight, and now her father has given up... It's not fair." She said walking out the door, making her way back to the little bobcat's room, her body shaking at the thought of having to tell the poor girl the news. Not only had she lost her mother, her sight, but now she had lost her father.

She stopped outside of the girl's door, Rachel. The wolfcat's paw coming to rest on her lower belly. "It's not fair." She whispered as she pushed door open. "Families should break up this easily." She kept whispering as she walked into the room, seeing the little girl sobbing into her knees. She had no idea how to even start the conversation. "Rachel?" She called out

"Ye... Yes?" The little kitten asked, looking up and in the general direction of the voice.

"I'm your doctor, I have been taking care of you and your father." She said walking over to her bed and sitting on the edge of the bed. "My name is Shanoa."

"Dad..." Squeaked out. "Is... is he ok?" She asked, looking to where she thought the woman was.

"That's what I came to talk to you about." She said, reaching out, and taking her hand in her's, feeling the soft fur and paw pads of the child, shivering a bit. "He... He didn't make it."

"He... He's dead?" She asked, starting to sob again. "Wh... Why does this... have to happen to me?" Rachel sobbed out.

"I'm sorry sweetie." Shanoa said as she put her arm around her, holding her close. "I know that it's hard, but, always remember, that it can only get better." She said trying to smile for her, or at least sound happy.

"How can it get better?" She hissed out. "I don't have a mom, or a dad, I can't even see." She said, just staying curled up and sobbing.

"That's the thing about life, there is going to be a lot of bad times, but, you're going to be stronger for living through them." She said holding her tighter. "Want me to share a secret with you?"

"Se... Secret?" She asked, looking towards the wolfcat, her pale lilac eyes shimmering in the evening light.

"Yes, we all have a hardship in our lives. For you, it's blindness." She said, pausing a moment to take a deep breath, a hand coming up to rest on her lower belly. "For me, I can't start a family." She said shivering a bit. "I have been trying for years and years to have a baby of my own, but I haven't been able to." She said holding her tight. "It makes me sad and all, but I know that, it makes me stronger, and I know that one day when I finally have a child of my own, the love will be stronger than anything out there."

The two stayed together, sitting on Rachel's bed, and just talking, talking a bit about their past, even talking about the things to come. Some how, the wolfcat managed to get the kitten calmed down enough to stop sobbing, and even smile a little. She stayed with her till the social worker came in, when she did, Shanoa took the opportunity to take her leave and head to the employee lounge.

"Heading home?" The wolf asked, leaning back in his seat, looking up at Shanoa as she walked in and to the lockers on the wall.

"Yeah, it's been... A rough day." She said opening her locker and starting to dig through it, pulling out a leather jacket, a lanyard with keys. "It's a good thing I'm not on call for the next few days." She said pulling off her white coat and hanging it on the hook, then slipping into her leather jacket.

"Any plans?" The wolf asked, watching her walk over to one of the chairs, picking up a helmet.

"I'm going to go see a friend, that's about all." She said as she started for the door. "See ya." She said as she walked out the door.

She made her way to the parking deck and to her parking space. She slipped her helmet on and mounted her motorcycle. Putting the key in and turning it, she felt it sputtering to life, sending vibrations through her body, carefully she backed out of the parking place and then kicked it into gear and started riding home.

She did plan to see a friend of hers, a special friend of hers. She needed to go home and change, and get ready. Tonight was going to be the night, she had been seeing this male for a month or so and he was finally ready to get into bed with her, she had been taking a new, 'all natural' fertility drug, the kind that you ordered off the internet. She just knew that tonight was the night that she was going to end up pregnent.

Once she had gotten home she parked the bike in her driveway and got off, wiggling a little and adjusting her pants a little, there was something about her bike that always made her hot. Walking up to the door she used the key and slipped in, shivering at the silence that greeted her. It was times like this, that her wants would flare up, she would wish that she wasn't coming home to an empty home. Instead, she would imagine what it would be like to come home to a family, opening the door and no sooner than she got in the door, she would feel a small bundle clinging to her leg, looking up to her and asking how her momma was. How she would put her things down and scoop her kitten up and carry her through the house, telling her how her day was. She would hear a voice calling her name, and her kitten's name too, informing them that dinner was ready, they would got to the dining room to find that her mate had made dinner for them.

"Tonight is going to be the night." She whispered as she walked up through the house, looking through the mostly unused rooms, heading to her bedroom.

Once she was in her room, she pulled her jacked off and tossed it and her keys onto her bed, purring and stretching a little as she kicked her shoes off and started walking across the room, silver painted toe claws clicking on the floor as she made her way to the bathroom. She smiled as she flicked the switch on the wall flooding the room with light. As clean and well stocked the bathroom was, one would think that she lived with someone else over the reality of her living alone.

She made her way across the cold tiled floor to the shower door, sliding it open, purring louder as she started the shower, watching the water starting to flow out of the fancy, detachable shower head. She started stripping out of her clothing, tossing her scrubs into the basket, repeating the process with her bra and panties. She reached in, testing the water before reaching for the cold tap, adjusting the water temp. The last thing that she did before getting into the shower was pulling the hair band from her hair, letting it fall free in cascading, dark brown locks, then getting into the shower.

For the wolfcat, showers where her heaven, her little slice of peace. When she was in the shower, she could just lose herself in the sound of the water hitting the floor, the sound of it splatter around and dripping off her body. The heat of the water, warming and soothing her body, washing away the pains from the day, soothing that burning need deep in her body, helping her get ready for bed.

Once she was done with the shower, she shut the taps off and opened the door open and snatched up a towel and closed the door, keeping the collected warmth in the shower stall. She took her time drying her hair, her long fur, fluffing up a little as she worked the towel over her long, fluffy tail. She always took pride in her fur, and her tail most of all, long, fluffy, red, with a black band and strip that ran from her tail up her back and past her ears, down between her eyes and connected to her black muzzle, she always got asked about the tip of her tail, if the blue color was dye, or natural. It was a question that she would always gloss over.

Tossing the towel in the hamper she left the bathroom, switching the light off and walking through her room, over to the window, looking out into the empty field behind her house. It was a nice, cool spring night, she opened the window, letting the cool air in, along with the sound of the bugs and animals. With a little yawn she went over to her bed, tugging the covers down and slipping under them, she didn't like sleeping with clothing on, no matter the time of year.

As she laid there, her mind did start wondering again, this time to how she and her mate would be in bed, snuggling up to one another, talking about their day and all the things that happened, smiling and sneaking in a few kisses, maybe even letting it grow into something a little more, naughty, she would giggle at the thought of a knock on their door right as things started getting good. It would be their child, in need of it's mother and father to hold them and chase the bad dreams and fears away. She purred the loudest as she drifted off.
