It was a sunny mid afternoon. The sun was high in the sky shining brightly down on a rocky desert below. Everything seemed peaceful and quiet....almost too quiet....Then instantly a loud boom was heard and from the source, a man was spiralling away at almost mach speeds, as if knocked away by a tremendous force. He ploughed into three different rock formations before finally managing to stop himself, slowly landing on a smaller rock formation below. The man, wearing a long black coat with a white lightning design at the tail, spiky black hair and a large sword on his back, was none other than Minato the Saiyan Avenger. He growled and shook his head a bit. "Peh...and here I thought this was going to be another peaceful day..." He muttered.

"Yea well you thought wrong pal!" Another voice rang through the air, and in front of Minato on a separate rock formation, was another man who looked exactly like him, only his skin, as well as his clothes and hair, were all pitch black save for his eyes; blood red with three coma marks around the iris. "You're getting sloppy Minato! I guess you really ARE a stupid idiot after all! HAAHAHAHAHAA!!" The man laughed maniacally after he made his statement.

"Maybe I am..." Minato calmly retorted. "Maybe I was just a fool to even think that I'd get one day off without any sort of conflict....Then again....I'd say you're an even BIGGER fool if you think you can take me down, Darkness..."

"HA! Give me a break!" The Darkness retorted. "We both know that you don't have it in you to kill me! You're too soft!" He said with a wide grin. "I, on the other hand, am just itching to shove my blade right into your heart....This has been a LONG time coming Minato! Today's the day where I'll finally kill you and be free of this curse of being your fucking shadow!!"

Minato sighed a little, then got into a stance. "....Alright then...Since you're so adamant to see this through, then I will accept your challenge...." He said calmly. "Come, Darkness! It's time we settled our rivalry!"

The Darkness giggled and got into a stance himself, each of the two Saiyan warriors staring each other down, waiting for the other to make the first move....The Ultimate showdown of Light vs. Shadow was about to begin.

Who will come out on top?!

Minato was the first to strike, dashing toward the Darkness quickly with his sword drawn. The Darkness grinned and drew his own blade and clashed with Minato's, creating a shockwave upon impact. The two stared each other down again as they struggled to overpower one another, then in an instant they had entered a high speed duel. Sparks flew all over the place as each of the combatants blades clashed with one another, each warrior meeting each other's strike with incredible precision. Finally after a long duel that had them fighting lower into the canyon, Minato and the Darkness finally struck each other's blades so hard that they ended up disarming each other, their blades flying away from them and disappearing from view. The Darkness grinned and quickly weaved some hand signs before taking a deep breath. "Fire Style! Great Fire Annihilation!!" He announced as he unleashed a torrent of searing hot flames toward Minato.

He quickly backed away and countered by weaving a few signs of his own, then held his arms out as his sides. "Water Style! Spiral Cannon!!" Then from around Minato came a ring of water that seemingly extended out like a long tube composed entirely of water. The two attacks met in the middle, creating a huge plume of steam that obscured each warrior's view of each other...or so it seemed. As Minato was struggling to get a clear view through the steam, a swarm of energy blasts shot through the steam cloud and right for the Saiyan. He grunted and deflected any that got close to him, letting the others whiz right past him.

"Where are you looking?!" Minato heard a voice from above, and when he looked up, he saw the Darkness up in the air, his eyes taking on a different pattern as he activated his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. "Burn!!!" He bellowed as he flashed his right eye, and in an instant, Minato was engulfed with the black flames of Amaterasu. He roared out in agony as the flames consumed him while the Darkness descended in front of the flames. "HAAAHAHAHAAA!! GOTCHA BITCH!!" He bellowed and waited for the screams to finally cease. When all but the roaring of fire could be heard, the Darkness had a wide grin on his face and he started to giggle like an insane scientist. "...Heh....hehehe.....hehehehehe.....I did it....." He muttered. "HAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!! AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! I'VE FINALLY DONE IT!! I AM NO LONGER HIS SHADOW!!!" He bellowed out while continuing to laugh.

"Is that so...?" A chilling voice was heard behind the Darkness, making him instantly stop laughing and seize up in shock. Then as he turned his head, he was greeted with a hard kick from Minato himself, sending him barrelling through more plateaus before finally skidding to a halt on his back. As the Darkness sat up, Minato appeared in front of him, arms crossed with a serious expression on his face. "You need to stop assuming every deathblow you deal is the final blow...If you ask me, I think YOU'VE gotten sloppy..." He pointed out to the Darkness.

"Damn you..." He growled and got to his feet. "Damn you and that Instant Transmission of yours...." He cursed and wiped the blood off his lip.

Minato remained silent for the longest time before he spoke again. "Looks like you had me worried over nothing....here I thought you had improved Darkness, but as it turns out, you're exactly the same as last time..."

He glared and launched himself at Minato, throwing his fist at him, who caught it and returned with one of his own, which the Darkness also caught. "YOU'RE one to talk bitch!! You haven't gotten better either! You're just the same as last time we clashed!!" He retorted angrily.

"Regardless, the end result will be just another draw...You cannot kill me Darkness." Minato responded, still staying as calm as ever.

The Darkness growled and started to surge with bio electricity as his power slowly increased. Minato grunted a bit and struggled to hold his ground. It was then that the Darkness grinned and flashed both his eyes, and he was surrounded by a black ribcage with two long skeletal arms. "AT LEAST I HAVE THE GUTS TO KEEP TRYING!!" He bellowed out, followed by a laugh as one of the arms swung at Minato. He flinched as he saw the ribcage form and was too stunned to react as the fist clobbered into him, sending him spiralling away. The Darkness was quick to give chase, the ribcage and arms disappearing as he approached Minato, unloading a brutal barrage of punches and kicks to the Saiyan Avenger. "What's wrong Minato?! You're not done yet! Fight back!!" He bellowed and knocked Minato down into the ground below, creating a large plume of dust and debris on impact. The Darkness launched himself down toward where Minato, cackling as he approached.

A loud roar was heard followed by a huge surge of power, making the Darkness stop in his tracks. Minato roared again and he was engulfed in a wild red flame. "KAIO-KEN!!!" He bellowed out.

The Darkness had a look of confusion on his face, clearly this was a move he had never seen before. "Kaio-wha-HOOOGH!!!" Was all the Darkness could say before he received a hard blow to his solar plexus from Minato. He growled and smacked him away before dashing to him and managing to get behind his opponent with ease as he kicked the Darkness down into ground before repeating the same steps of catching up and striking, finally ending with a large Ki blast that sent the Darkness careening into a nearby mountain; the sheer force of the impact was enough to make the mountain crumble on top of the Darkness. All was quiet for a while before some of the rubble shifted and then burst out, with the Darkness rushing to Minato with a Chidori at the ready. "I WILL COAT THIS CANYON WITH YOUR BLOOD!!!" He roared as he rapidly approached his foe. Minato growled and quickly prepped a Rasengan, charging in as well to meet with his adversaries strike. The two roared as they clashed with their respective jutsu, large sparks of both electricity and torrential wind currents were being expelled from the clash as the two warriors struggled to overpower one another. The clash lasted for a good while before each jutsu finally cancelled out, resulting in a powerful explosion that repelled each warrior back into different plateaus, each yelling out in pain from the impact.

After a long silence, both plateaus exploded and disintegrated as both Saiyans powered up to full power, then teleported to each other and engaged in a high speed bout, each warrior throwing punches and kicks at impossible speeds as well as blocking and dodging each other's attacks. Eventually they broke off, allowing Minato some time to conjure up a white spiralling orb of Ki with four blades spinning around it at high speeds. "Wind Style! Rasen-Shuriken!!" He bellowed and hurled the shuriken.

"HA! You think that will work?!" The Darkness bellowed as he darted above the shuriken, letting it pass underneath him, then quickly summoning his Susano'o in Humanoid form. It spread its arms out and half a dozen black Sharingan like projectiles were created. "Inferno Style! Yasaka Magatama!!" He bellowed and the projectiles were launched at the Saiyan Avenger. He grunted and backed up a little, quickly weaving through each attack. As soon as the last attack whizzed past him, Minato felt a hard slam on his neck that sent him spiralling away and into the ground below. When he shot up he looked up to the sky, but the Darkness was nowhere to be found. He growled a little and hesitated before he took to the skies to scan for his opponent from there. He looked around his surroundings, keeping his senses keen for any surprise his adversary may have planned. Minato didn't have to search for long as he flinched, then from a good distance behind him, a large silver tower of intense energy shot up into the sky, followed by a maniacal cackling coming from within its confines. Minato turned to the tower and could only watch as The Darkness powered up even more beyond his limits. With a macabre flash, the tower of energy diminished, and in its place was the Darkness, his skin, clothes and hair all completely silver with red streaks of bio-electricity surging around him. He had ascended to Minato's true potential, Ultimate Super Saiyan form.

"Shit...already turning up the heat eh...?" Minato muttered to himself as he grit his teeth, unsure of what he should do next. Right there and then, the Darkness appeared right in front of Minato, making him flinch. He wasted no time and drove his fist into Minato's gut with MUCH more force than his normal form. Minato tried to cry out but only a small cough was heard as he took the blow. The Darkness cackled and withdrew his fist, only to slam it into Minato's face, sending him hurtling across the canyon at impossible speeds. He roared out as he hit another few rock formations before finally getting stuck on a much larger one.

The Darkness appeared in front of him again and aimed to throw another punch. "DIE!!!!" he roared as he threw the punch.

However...the only thing it collided with was Minato's hand as he caught the fist...his eyes were shining a bright gold colour as his power surged. "WARM UP'S OVER!!!" He bellowed, the roared out as he too was enveloped by tower of gold energy, forcing the Darkness to back up and growl. The tower disappeared in a similar fashion to the Darkness and he had donned his Ultimate Super Saiyan form.

The Darkness only grinned and giggled like a maniac. "FINALLY!! I was wondering when you'd finally bring out your true power! Now we can REALLY settle this fight!!"

"Shut up....and DIE!!!" Minato roared as his power surged, giving into his Saiyan rages. The two stared each other down once more, each waiting for the other to make the first move.

They were right in each other's faces in seconds and traded about five blows, each one creating massive shockwaves as their attacks made contact. From then they moved to a short skirmish before backing up and shooting to the ground, each landing hard before dashing at one another and re-engaging the skirmish, teleporting all over the place as they kept trading blows with one another. Finally Minato saw the opening he was looking for and went for a double sledgehammer strike, but the Darkness only smirked and darted away. Minato growled and immediately gave chase. Moments later, Minato and the Darkness would appear in plain sight for a split second, each one throwing a strike before darting away, repeating this for a while until Minato darted away. The Darkness gave him no time to recover as he came charging at the Saiyan, who brought his arms to block his punch, making him grimace as the punch hit his arms. From there, the Darkness performed a rising punch that broke through Minato's guard and nailed him in the jaw, then went for a haymaker to nail Minato square in the cheek. Minato however quickly ducked down and struck at the Darkness with a back flip kick, sending him flying into the air. Minato teleported up to where the Darkness would end up and swung his fist at him...hitting nothing but air. This confused Minato for a moment before he was nailed by the Darkness, who had teleported away at the last second before Minato's strike could hit him, and landed one of his own. He had a grin of satisfaction on his face, but that soon turned into one of surprise as Minato disappeared in a cloud of smoke, revealing a log in his place. "What?! A Substitution?!" He looked around frantically. "Where are you coward?!!"

"Above you!" Minato roared out and tackled into his foe, sending them both crashing into the ground below, creating a plume of dust and debris upon impact. From the plume came streaks of gold and silver that darted all over the canyon, clashing and creating shockwaves each time they clashed until they finally met in the middle, catching each other's blows and struggling to overpower one another. Eventually bio-electricity surged around them as gold and silver flames erupted around them, causing the earth under them to shake violently and collapse from their intense power. Rocks were flying up into the air and the sky darkened, with lightning striking down all around them. They each roared and broke out of the clash, only to re-engage in another lightning speed skirmish for a while, their flames slowly dying down. Minato threw a kick at his foe, but the Darkness smirked and saw through it, quickly appearing behind Minato and smacking him with his fist before moving above him and charging a sphere of ki and aiming it down at Minato.

In that instant, Minato recovered and noticed what the Darkness was doing, powering up a ki blast of his own to counter his foe's attack. The two blasts met as they soared through the sky, creating a large streak of gold and silver which exploded behind them. Minato appeared again in another part of the canyon and jumped away as the Darkness landed where he was, then he quickly teleported behind Minato just as he landed. Minato however, sensed him just as he arrived and threw a kick to throw off his foe's attack. The Darkness blocked it and counted with a punch to Minato's face, which he teleported away from, making the Darkness hit the ground instead. The Darkness growled and flinched for a bit, then teleported just as Minato came in from his blindside with a flying kick. Minato touched down and quickly turned around just as the Darkness, throwing another kick at him. The Darkness was also throwing one of his own upon his reappearance and the two Saiyans nailed each other in the face, sending each spiralling back. They each landed on their feet and Minato quickly took to the skies the second he landed.

"You're not getting away!" The Darkness bellowed and teleported up and above Minato, charging up enormous amounts of ki to his palms. Minato sensed the energy and stopped himself from ascending any further, quickly turning to face the Darkness just as he unloaded a barrage of ki blasts at Minato. He grimaced and quickly darted back down to the ground with the blasts following close behind. Just as he was about to hit the ground, Minato veered up into the air, letting the blasts hit the ground below. He rose back into the air and roared, firing a barrage of ki blasts back at the Darkness. He sped toward Minato as he fired the blasts, dodging and weaving through a few before letting loose another barrage, colliding with the rest of Minato's blasts and resulting in a large cloud of smoke. The Darkness stared at the cloud intently, waiting for Minato to burst through.

Sure enough he did, flying at the Darkness. He grinned and brought his arms up, ready to counter the Saiyan's approach. However, Minato teleported away and appeared behind him, The Darkness growled and teleported away from him, with his foe following close behind. Eventually a shock wave could be seen and both the Darkness and Minato were flying alongside each other until Minato darted ahead and charged head on toward his foe. Time seemed to slow down a bit as the two approached one another, then they disappeared from plain sight. Soon after that, they reappeared again, with Minato throwing a punch and the Darkness dodging, then disappearing and reappearing with the Darkness throwing a strike to Minato, who dodged that as well. They kept this up before appearing a ways away from each other. Minato was on the ground and formed a quick hand seal. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Then in a puff of smoke, two clones of the Saiyan appeared, each darting at the Darkness as the original started to power up. One of the clones engaged in a skirmish with the Darkness, and while that was happening, the second teleported behind the Darkness and slammed his fists into his neck, throwing off his tempo. Then the two clones started to mercilessly beat down on him. The original body finally hit his desired power level and charged up to join the fray, adding to the already brutal beat down the Darkness was receiving.

Finally the Darkness roared out and summoned forth his Susano'o's ribcage to block the attacks. "YOU DARE TOY WITH ME?!?!" He bellowed as an arm protruded from the ribcage and swung at each of the clones of Minato. They quickly darted in separate directions, appearing to the Darkness' left, right and from above. The first clone fired off a few ki blasts. The second charged up a larger blast and let it loose, and the original body from above hurled another Rasen-Shuriken down at him. The Darkness easily deflected the volley from his left, then turned and caught the blast coming at his right, then kicked it up to the Rasen-Shuriken barrelling down at him from above. The blast hit the shuriken and they both exploded with a massive force. Right as the explosion ended, the three Minato's appeared all around the Darkness and attacked him one after the other with the third strike sending him spiralling away. The Darkness growled and realigned himself before flying away, with the three clones in hot pursuit. The Darkness grinned softly and glanced back. "Right where I want ya.." He muttered, then quickly turned back and nailed one of the clones, sending him flying to the ground. One of the clones sped by him while the original engaged him, blocking his attack then countering with an uppercut before leaping up, letting the clone that sped past him before pass under him and kick at the original body. The clone looked back and darted for the Darkness, which earned him a hard kick that sent him plummeting to the ground. The original was last to attack, but was unsuccessful and also sent spiralling to the ground. The Darkness then held out his hand and an large orb of Ki started to form at his palm. "Here's your going away present!! HAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!" He laughed and fired the blast.

The three clones landed hard on the ground, two of them disappearing in a puff of smoke. Minato opened his eyes and saw the blast heading toward him. "Damnit!!" He said through gritted teeth and put his fingers to his forehead, using Instant Transmission to get out of the way just as the blast was about to hit him.

The blast left behind a massive explosion and a crater where Minato once was. The Darkness landed at the edge of the crater and scanned inside it, then frowned and grit his teeth. "Sneaky bastard..." He growled as he heard a familiar charging of energy coming from behind him.

When he turned, he saw Minato behind him, charging his signature attack. "Final....Blaze....." He announced as his attack was almost ready.

The Darkness zipped to him and aimed his fist at him. "NOPE! DENIED!!" He roared and threw his fist at Minato. Just as it was about to connect however, Minato disappeared. "What?!" He exclaimed, then turned to see Minato behind him again. "SHIT!"

"CANNOOOOOOOON!!!!!" Minato roared and fired his attack at point blank range, sending the Darkness back a good distance before he was able to recover. As soon as he was back on his feet, Minato teleported in front of him, then they dashed at each other. A strange event occurred as they appeared to be moving in slow motion, yet all around them , images of the two Saiyans were clashing at ultra high speeds. When time seemed to return to normal, the Saiyans had nailed each other in the face with their fists, then in an instant they were in yet another skirmish for a bit, then Minato threw a punch that his foe dodged, though the force from the punch actually managed to shatter a boulder behind the Darkness. He countered with a kick that Minato ducked under, again the force behind it shattering another boulder behind Minato. The Darkness backed away and Minato shot up, thrusting his palm forward and hitting the Darkness with a shockwave that sent him back a little. He recovered and roared out, darting to Minato and slamming his fist into his chest, causing him to lurch a bit. The Darkness then opened his palm and a Rasengan was in his hand. Minato grimaced as he saw it, then the Darkness grinned and thrust it into Minato, encompassing him in a large sphere of ki that was sent barrelling away. He laughed for a bit, but froze as he looked behind him, and again, Minato was there, his fingers on his forehead with a smirk.

The Darkness was seething with rage at this point. "THAT'S IT!! I'M DONE PLAYING GAMES!!!!" He roared and got into a power up stance, then the sky darkened as bio-electricity surged around him. Finally he let out a deafening roar as a large silver flame erupted around him, unleashing his full power. He then started soaring up as high as he could into the sky, then started charging an attack similar to Minato's Final Blaze Cannon. "If I can't beat you through normal methods, THEN I'LL JUST DESTROY YOU AND THE WORLD YOU WORKED SO HARD TO PROTECT!! AAAHAHAHAHAAA!!! HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!" He roared out with maniacal laughter as his attack was about half way done.

Minato's eyes widened when he heard that, then he growled. "You fucking coward....you deserve to die!" He bellowed, then tensed his body as well. "LET'S FINISH THIS!!!" He roared and powered up to his limit, a large gold flame erupting around him as he charged his signature attack at full power. "Blinding......Final......." He announced as a small gold orb of ki started to grow in his palms. "Blaaaaaaze...." He said again, the flame around him grew larger and larger.

"ENJOY YOUR STAY IN HELL!! MINATOOOOOO!!!!" The Darkness roared and finally unleashed a MASSIVE silver beam to Minato.

Minato thrust his palms forward, the energy flickering in his palms. "CAANNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!" The energy seemed to shrink a bit, then exploded out of his palms as a MASSIVE gold beam that barreled right for the Darkness' attack. The two beams finally collided in the middle, releasing a multitude of shockwaves as they met. The two Saiyans grit their teeth and struggled to overpower one another, applying even more power to each of attacks, yet the struggle still continued, neither beam budging an inch.

The Darkness had one more card to play, he flashed both his eyes and his Susano'o was summoned in its final form. It then put its hands over the beam and made it even larger, as well as coated it with black flames. The enhanced power slowly pushed back Minato's beam, making him grimace as he struggled to push harder, but he was quickly reaching his limit. The Darkness just cackled with laughter. "Yes, that's it!! STRUGGLE TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT! IT WON'T MAKE THE SLIGHTEST DIFFERENCE MINATO!!! TODAY YOU WILL FINALLY DIE BY MY HANDS, AND I WILL NO LONGER BE YOUR SHADOW!!! AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!" He roared with laughter as the attacks closed in on the Saiyan Avenger.

Minato grunted and even let out an agonized roar as he felt his body overstrain itself, though he wasn't about to give up. His body started to pulsate as he managed to hold his ground for a bit, then his flame slowly died down and he flashed his eyes open. "KAI.....O........KEEEEEEEENNNNN!!!!!!!!!!" He roared as his flame reappeared, this time it was massive, red, and burning wildly like an untamed fire. Minato's beam exploded with power as it shot up and met the Darkness' beam, quickly pushing it back and managing to overpower it.

The Darkness' eyes widened and he struggled to push back, but he was being overpowered too quickly. "What!?! NOO!! I HAD YOU!! FUUUUUUUCK!!!" He cried out as the beams slammed into the Darkness, making him roar with agony. His Susano'o couldn't take the punishment and it shattered, leaving the Darkness to take the full force of the blast. "DAMN YOU MINATOOOO!!!!!!" Were his last words before he disappeared into the beam as it shot through the atmosphere of the Earth and into the vast emptiness of space, exploding far off into the distance like a Supernova.

Back on earth, Minato was panting heavily, both from exhaustion and the amount of strain his body just endured when he unleashed a Kaio-Ken while in Ultimate Super Saiyan form. His power quickly waned and he was back to normal again, falling to his knees and grunting as his body started to feel the pain set in, falling flat on his face, though before he slipped out of consciousness he managed to utter a few more words. "...Ugh...F...Forgive...me......Yahiko......." he muttered, then finally slipped out of consciousness, laying with his face in the ground. Finally, the ultimate showdown had concluded, and light had triumphed over shadow.....

WINNER!!

Minato twirled his sword twice before sheathing it on his back, turning away slightly while looking down at his fallen opponent. "This is the true power of the Saiyan race...and the legacy my father left behind....." Then he slowly walked away.
