#4 of Gemini - Book 2

The fourth chapter of Glaives adventure.

I don't own MLP.

As the two nervously approached the castle they heard a frightful roar, followed by a dark chuckle. "Still you wish to face me, are you so incompetent that you can't realise my power greatly exceeds that of your pitiful taps that you call punches! Hahahaha!" the dark voice laughed manically.

The two closed in and saw two large beasts fighting. "I recognise that brown one; it's the one that tried to attack me." Whispered Glaive. "But that black one I don't remember seeing."

"Hey, you think it's the other one Captain mentioned?" Lance whispered back,

"It's a possibility. What do you think we should do?" Glaive fearfully asked.

The Pegasus pondered for a moment. "If we were to attack now whilst they are both distracted it could prove to be our best and only chance. I'll take the brown one."

"But that leaves me with..."

"I am your superior, you take your orders from me got that. O.K. on the count of three. One... two... three, GO!" Lance whispered.

The two guards bolted towards their quarry, only for the Pegasus to be thrown down to the hard stone floor and the unicorn to be hurled into the side of the stone castle. "Well, now that those little nuisances are out of the way, I think we should continue where..." The creature comprised of black ooze turned to attack the one of brown, but it had already fled. "Oh well, at least I have these little morsels to keep myself sated. But which one shall I have first, bruised," It glared straight at Lance. "Or tenderised." Its gaze shifted to Glaive, at that point Lance had flown off as fast as he could and in his current state that wasn't fast at all. "Well it looks like you've decide for me, how kind." It turned back to Glaive. "I trust that you won't be going anywhere soon." It laughed as it chased after the Pegasus.

As Glaive lay there in his bed of rubble he noticed that he could not feel some parts of his body, as though they were missing, but what he could feel was pain. Until a something soothing stroked his cheek, he opened his eyes to that a strange blue mist hovered over him. A calm, feminine voice that emanated from the cloud washed over him. "Hush now, be still. Your friend is in danger, let me help, I wish to save you both."

"I don't want to die here." Glaive whimpered.

"Shh, don't cry, no pony's going to die. Let's go save your friend." It coursed him once more before enveloping him in itself. He could feel the pain dull and disappear, the dead limbs came back to life, his energy revitalised. He was reborn anew.

Author's Note

I am deeply sorry about the length of this chapter but I felt that chapter 3 just didn't cover enough. Expect a longer on next time.
