Survival Bastion 02

Christel was holding the chakat's body against her own, as the female had just lost one of her tails, and spoke softly to her. No worries hun, Dream will take everything back into place, you will see, there is nothing to be afraid of. She lifted the chakat so she would lay down on her front paws, holding her upper body.

Vero looks up to Christel with a mournful look in her eyes. She's always had an unnaturally high pain tolerance. She was more upset at the loss of her tails that she used for seemingly everything than the pain she was in. Really? She nearly cries. She then brings the hyena into a very strong hug, unaware of her own body strength. Flinching at the stretching of the shriveled skin on the left side of her body.

Christel hugs back, flinching a bit as the hug becomes stronger, and a shadow appears, letting them know that Dream was there. Greetings, middle brother, I'm sorry but we had to hide in your realm, please heal us. The Endless takes a form of a pale tall man, with glowing eyes inside a pool of shadows, and dressed in a cloak of darkness that is waving about as he moves. Certainly, eldest sister, it will be my pleasure. With a wave of his hand the wounds on the two of them close themselves, slowly getting to nothing but little peels of skin, dropping down to the floor.

Vero gets up, still slightly weak in the legs from what happened, she looks a little confused as she just got healed miraculously and nothing seems to be wrong on the surface on the skin. She does however understand that The Endless was responsible for this act. She walks up to him and gives him a hug of gratitude. I can't thank you enough; but I'm still worried about my other friends who were also in the manor when Mistress and I were injured.

The man starts to face into a cloud of smoke up the chakat's body as she tries to hug him, and then he reappears in front of Christel, warning her. Do not return home for a long time, there is still harmful radiation on the surface. He simply starts to walk away, while the place the chakat and the hyena are folds itself into darkness, cloaking their total vision, in such a way there is no mortal that can see through the darkness, blinding them both into a shadow of night.

Unable to see, Vero calls out to Christel, hoping to be able to find where she was based on hearing. She then starts to wander around, hoping that it will help her find her mistress. I hate the darkness. While wandering around, she bumps straight into the hyena.

The hyena falls down to her knees, as she then called to Vero. Watch out hun, I believe we are in deep shit, we don't know where Morpheus has dropped us, I believe we are under the earth. Then she gets up again, as she then starts to feel at the walls, trying to find a switch or something to get a hold to. Then she starts to feel something, really slowly, she turns on the switch, as a blaze of light blinds them both. Ahg.... My eyes! The hyena shouts as she then falls back down on her butt. Can you see anything, Vero?

No, I can't open my eyes, it's too bright. Even with her eyes closed, the room still looked like a flare to her sensitive cat-eyes. Thankfully hyenas absorb enough light for Vero to make out the shape of her mistress on the floor. She then carefully picks her up, and puts her on her own back. Rest till you can see properly, we don't want to hurt ourselves, as you mentioned, mistress. She says smoothly.

Christel is able to open her eyes once more, squinting around as she cannot see much, and makes out a sewage room, where all kinds of tubes and wires start to come into vision. The roof is lighted with three tubes, bright enough to blind anyone that was on total darkness as they were, and as the hyena's pupils contracted she started to make out a door. It was a square room, 30 feet long and 30 feet wide, and there were some cleaning utensils, a broom and a bucket full of water. The hyena looked down at her feet, and spotted two rats on a corner of the room.

By this stage; Vero could open her eyes, a little more accustomed to the flare. She notices that the door also had a lock on it. It better not be... She thinks to herself. So she walks up to the door and twists the knob and it's tightly sealed there. Miss? What do we do? We're locked in.

The hyena starts to think that this was a trick of the Endless, and she shouted loud: Is this how you repay me my services? Lord of the Night, hark me, if you brought us to the room this we are to die of starvation, deal ye, take us away! The door for all response begins to shatter and fold into itself as the metal shards fly back into the following room, making such a racket that even the hyena is a bit scared. Thank ye, lord of the Night.

Vero walks into the new room, it's nothing special, but in both directions the hallway of the room seems to go forever. Even though its well lighted, probably because of the switch in the first room that the pair were in. It is impossible to see an end in either direction. Well, let's hope there's at least something edible here. Deciding to take the left, Vero starts a smooth gallop that's so graceful that it's barely noticeable from her back. How are we going to find the others, miss?

Christel secretly reads all her pet's thoughts, and begins to walk down the hallway to the left, as she says: I believe we are deep into the labyrinth of the dungeons of the manor, I used to know these corridors by heart, now most of it is forgotten. She keeps walking, up to a slide door, and a gush of air goes past them, but it is hot and humid, as if some creature dwelt there. Stay behind me and follow my steps, and only my steps, don't touch anything, we are in the territory of a drider, so we better try to go by unnoticed. The hyena begins to walk the room into the next one, and she sighs, feeling the drider right behind them.

Vero follows closely by Christel, holding a shoulder, to make sure she doesn't make a step out of place. She makes sure that she doesn't make a sound. How far are we in. She wonders, she continues walking, her paws padding softly against the ground.

The drider begins to walk on her eight legs, as her torso sprouts a string of web, directed at the hyena. But before the drider decides to shoot the web, hyena and chakat are gone. In their place, a small chain of smoke rises. When they both reappear, they are at a large hall, still a bit too bright to see. There are piled chairs and tables all around, laying there and accumulating dust. Ah... I must have activated my protection module, it just turns itself on each time I get down here, old protective magic, that's all...

At least we're safe... Right? While looking around, Vero notices a staircase leading upwards, and there appears to be natural light at the top. Do you think that we should go out and find the others?

The hyena shakes her head. There must be a reason why Morpheus sent us down here, probably because he himself cannot leave the manor's grounds, just as a precaution, keep your ring near, we might need to use it again. The hyena looks down at the ring on her hand, and wears it again, unable to use its magic because it is without energy. From now on let's wear it, we need to let it charge with our own magic bodies. The hyena picks up a chair and sets it on the floor. We better stay sitting, it might take a while to recharge itself.

Vero decides to open one of the doors, hoping that there's a fridge or something, and it turns out there's a kitchen down here. I learn something new about this manor every day, who would've guessed there was two kitchens in this place. She starts taking out some of the ingredients and starts cooking. More as something to do, rather than something she needs to do. She also starts bringing the kettle to boil, hoping the ingredients to her mistress' liking are down here. How do you want your coffee today?

The hyena looks curiously about inside the room, and starts to look around at the dust and the cobwebs. Well it's nothing as I remember correctly, I never actually used this kitchen, it probably was an auxiliary one for the one upstairs. Something catches the corner of her eye, and she walks to the side of the kitchen, opening a side door. At that very instant a blur of movement starts to move in front of the hyena, and she looks up to see what she has got in front of her. Next thing she knows is that she is laying on the floor, with a putrefactive zombie vulpine on top of her, as another is just behind the chakat.

Fear overcomes the chakat, and almost instinctively she flips the Vulpine behind her into a cupboard, breaking the cupboard. and she picks up the other one and crushes it. She curls up after that, weeping, not knowing what's going through her mind. W-w-w-What are those?? She doesn't have time for an answer, the one she threw into the cupboard regains movement.

The vulpine that just regained movement slowly but domly nears the chakat, and as the hyena shouts WATCH OUT! Then the vulpine zombie starts to bite hard the chakat's arm, and still has the time to come down to Christel, looking down at her.

The chakat then punches the vulpine back across the room, leaving a tooth in her. Ewwww... She shudders at the thought of the sight of the two vulpines. I hope it's not like those movies she used to watch... How long would I have??? She hurries up to next to the hyena her body poised to fight.

The vulpine slams against the wall, with its teeth shattered, and as he falls he sloppily gets back up, and snarls, as Christel starts to create a spell. ALAKAZAM!

Then a djinn appears briefly, and starts to create a ball of energy to blast the vulpine. His visage is terrifying. He wears a red vest with curved up spikes on his shoulders, and his face is a pool of darkness in which starts to shine. He has four eyes on his stomach, carved into holes. His arms are pure smoke, which end on claw-like three finger hands, and his whole body is constantly puffing out smoke, as his body does not end on legs, instead a faint chain of smoke ends his body, hovering over the floor.

Vero jumps in fear, but after seeing the vulpine blasted into oblivion; she falls out of her fear induced frenzy. Seemingly oblivious to her previous acts of strength. Mistress... What's that? She goes over to the djinn, curiously inspecting his features. She then returns back to the side of her mistress cringing when her arm brushes against her mistress. She looks down at the arm to see the vulpine tooth hanging out of it. She looks at it with immense confusion.

The djinn hovers a bit over the kitchen floor, and after bowing to Christel he disappears, puffing a chain of smoke. Then Christel looks at her pet, worried about that bite. We should restore you back to health, use your will as I cast over you a healing spell. .She then raises her arms, and casts a spell of healing, as the entire room shines with white light.

Feeling a lot better, Well, so much for our meal. She jests, looking over at the destroyed kettle in the kitchen, and the wrecked meal to the side of it. She goes over to the room that the Vulpines were in, and notices two beds in that room, this is incredibly confusing now, not only as far as she was aware, there have only ever been the bedrooms up stairs. What is a bedroom doing right next to a kitchen? Well, if we get the proper restraints on that door; we should be fine for the night. She says suddenly noticing how tired she's starting to get from everything that was happening that day. I should stop being so surprised by everything I see down here. But what were you doing with such a large basement? She asks her mistress.

Christel begins to feel tired too. She responds to the chakat, yawning. This is only part of a larger project my dad had when he designed the manor, the map is somewhere around the main building, here is a copy. She hands her the map, an old papyrus wrapped in a green lace, and lets her inspect it.

Vero happily looks at the map. Her map reading skills have always been above average, because of a close bond with her dad who always proudly taught her everything. Over time though; she starts smiling less and less. But, the key is in Spanish... I've never learned that language. I only know... That... She points at one of the points on the key. Means bedroom, and that... Moving her hand over to the point a few lines down. Means kitchen; because that's where we are... She hands the map back to her mistress. Happy that she was allowed to look at it though.

The hyena looks at the wall watch, trying to determine the time. The watch is broken though, its glass shattered into pieces on the floor. The signaling arrows are all twisted and broken, so that is not a good source to get the time. She sighs a bit and tries to figure out in her mind how they are going to get out of this one. She cannot think of a way out, and simply steps closer to the chakat, tapping her softly on her shoulder. Hey, it is better for us to get some sleep, we really would need the energy for tomorrow. There is two beds, but only one single blanket. If we join the beds we would get a larger bed, and I would advise us to join into one single wrapping, to not lose body heat. My main idea is, we haven't had a moment of intimacy, so I think this would be the perfect time for us. The hyena looks down at the two dusty beds, trying to figure out if they would fit the two of them on a single bed.

Veronica starts moving the bed on the left towards the right. She then giggles at her mistress; I knew it was just an excuse to get us to sleep together. She jeers.
