#5 of The Wolf's Requiem

Was able to finnish part 5, comment and suggestions are wanted.

Gale sat in the main hall of the manor house, wearing the Creed's bleach white uniform over his fur. He looked straight across to the Bull that sat at the other end of the table, not taking any notice to the other fur's at the table.

"The concert was a complete disaster," said the Bull at the end of the table.

"So what Caloh? I did what I had to do." Gale said, slamming his fist onto the table.

"What, to save a human male? Please," Caloh said.

"What do you have against the humans?"

"First they are greedy, money hugging weaklings."

Gale growled loudly, standing up, "don't ever say that in front of me."

"And what are you going to do about it bone-lover?"

Gale got the urge to climb onto the table and rip the Bull's heart right out of his chest, but kept his paws clean instead.

"Just remember who the enemy is grass breath," Gale growled. "The guy that raped Jake was the brother of the person that tried to kill him a month before, even for brotherly love that's a bit weird."

"Who he was is not our problem. We had police all over our asses because of that little stunt you pulled and you expect us just to forget about it being coursed by you?"

"I thought this creed was about doing anything to keep freedom, no matter the cost, even for the humans, Looks like we both were wrong when I signed up."

For the first time during the argument one of the other fur's at the table spoke up, "I've just realised something. How did Gale know the human's name? He didn't have enough contact with the human to know his name."

The fur who spoke was a medium height, orange furred fox by the name of Ryan.

Gale remained silent for a moment before answering, "he's my... my mate."

"Mate?" Caloh questioned, "how... interesting."

Gale knew what was coming before the Bull showed signs of speaking it, he always hated his type.

"Gale Wooth, you are hereby dismissed from the creed. You are permitted to keep your uniform and weapons as long as you dye the cloth and your fur."

Some the furs on the table looked at each as Caloh said this, unsure of him.

"If you dismiss him, then you dismiss me." Trevor said, getting up from the table.

"Why is that Trevor?"

"I'm gay too you homophobic," Trevor said.

"Then so be it," Caloh said. "Leave this place immediately."

Gale and Trevor gave Caloh one last look of anger before turning, going down the stairs and walking out of the building, into the cold city outside.

"I'm sorry for all of this." Gale said once they were out.

"It was bound to happen sooner or later, now at least I have a personal reason to kick that Bull in the nuts."

"And I'll be there to watch, man." Gale said, shaking Trevor's paw.

"You best get home to Jake," Trevor advised,

"Shouldn't I make sure Caloh doesn't send someone to kill you?"

"Be honest man, they'll be dead before they get to stage two of whatever plan they make."

"Until next time," Gale said, turning and walking down the street.

"Be sure to call me to say how he is," Trevor called.

"Will do," Gale said with a sad smile.

Gale's breath started to come out in misty clouds as he walked through the street, looking down at the snow covered ground. He brought his cloak closer to his fur, trying to gain as much warmth from the red cloth as possible His feet went into autopilot, taking him to the most comfortable place, home.

After half an hour his feet brought him to his home, all lights were off with the exception of the top right room, his bedroom. Gale sighed and entered his house silently, taking off his snow covered uniform and hanging it into a small cupboard. He climbed the stairs, which creaked under his feet, and entered his bedroom.

Jake sat against the far end of the room and looked out at the full moon through the window. Silently breathing in and out, his rib showing chest raising up and down under his now baggy clothes, not moving even when the door opened and Gale entered.

"It's good to see you out of the questioning station," Gale said, walking to him.

Jake silently looked at him with his depressed blue eyes.

When Jake looked up Gale saw something that his stomach turn, Jake's collar bone was painfully extended from lack of food.

Gale's eyes locked with Jake's as he knelt down and put a paw onto his shoulder.

"Jake, why did you tell me? Please, eat something. anything."

"I-I can still feel him," Jake said, putting a hand onto his hip, "I can feel him every minute like he's doing the act everywhere I go."

"Jake please," Gale said with tears in his eyes, "you have to keep fighting."

"Keep fighting? It's easy for you to say."

"Please, fight for anything." He said, bringing Jake's hand to his cheek. "Fight for me, I beg you."

Jake went quiet for a moment, his eyes not moving from Gale's.

"I-I'll try, for you."

With this Gale smiled, "thank you."

Jake got up slowly along with the Gale and went into an embrace.

"I'll help you through this, I promise." Gale said, rubbing his eyes dry.

"I know you will, I love you." Jake said, starting to undress.

"I love you too," Gale said softly, doing the same, moving onto the bed. As they layed down they settled into a spooning position, Jake gasped as Gale's chest pressed against his bare back.

"Do you want me to stop?" Gale asked, not wanting to hurt him.

"N-no, it's fine." Jake reassured Gale in a softening tone. "Let's just stay like this."

"If at any moment you want to stop, I'd fully understand." Gale said, kissing his neck. As he did he pressed his paw onto Jake's thin upper chest, feeling his slowing heartbeat.

"I'll tell you... if I do." Jake said, starting to drift off into sleep.

"Sweat dreams, my love. My one, my all." Gale said, nuzzling Jake's neck. Before Gale allowed sleep to take hold of him his eyes let out a couple of slow rivers of silent tears that ran down his cheek and onto the pillow. At this Gale put his nose against Jake's hair and inhaled softly, taking Jake's scent in one last time before he closed his eyes and silently sobbed himself into sleep.
