The old ways.

Two bulls have fun in the woods, and become one with nature.

Magnum bull lead Beefy through the woods; trekking all day they were far from any path.

" Magnum, are we almost there yet? I'm getting a little tired, maybe we can stop and rest?"

No, not yet buddy, were close now though. Any way we will have plenty of time to rest when we get there." He smiled at that. The larger white bull confidently continued, picking his way through the trees, searching for the best path, and when no good option presented itself, he simply made his own, stomping and flattening smaller plants in to pulp. He had never been clear with beefy where they were going, and had only told him 'they were going to be one with nature'. Who knew what that meant.

" Ah their it is." The large white bull pointed happily towards a small vine covered cave.

" What is this place?" Beefy asked.

" This is a Winter-sleeping cave. It is an old tradition of our people, used to prolong life, and become harmonious with nature. Come on! Let's see if it's clear!" Magnum was quite excited to have finally found the cave, and pushing aside thick green vines he entered with Beefy in tow. The cave wasn't too large, but it was dark, and the back was drenched in inky darkness.

A small hole in the ceiling let in a single shaft of light, illuminating some small parts of the nearby wall, covered in markings and cave paintings. As Beefy's eyes adjusted to the light, he expressed his fascination to Magnum.

" Wow, what are these? He said as he looked in awe at the simple drawings and pictograms on the walls, and rubbing his fingers across them.

" I did those, they are traditional wall art, its suppose to bring luck, and good dreams. " Magnum said, now having tossing his clothes aside, he stood with arms crossed, and a broad smile across his muzzle.

" You made these? " Beefy asked in disbelief.

" Yep. And you're going to make some to." He said unmoving from his position.

" I don't.. think...I don't know how to." "

That's why we're here, to show you. Don't worry when we leave here, you will know all the old ways. ...Well as much as I can teach you." he walked over to the side wall and pulled three small clay bowls from the darkness.

"Well the inks are all dried and faded, so we will make some more, come on. " He said as he started towards the exit of the cave.

"Oh and take those trousers off, you won't be needing them." And with that the two left the cave, and spent the day making inks, gathering foods and wood, and magnum showed beefy as many of the elder ways as he could. It was late afternoon when they returned, the sun's light a deep orange and the cave was the darkest black.

" Magnum it's too dark ,we should light a fire soon."

" That's what we are about to do buddy."

Beefy had learned a lot about their culture and survival that day, and was looking forward to learning how their people would have lit a fire in the old way. 'The old ways' it turned out, were rather straight forward rules, and ideas set down in ancient times to aide a bull's survival, and proved interesting, a blend of legend, science, and history. Magnum exited the cave with a bundle of kindling they had collected, and some dry grass tossing it in a heap on the ground he pulled a Zippo that he had kept in his pants (in the cave) and lit the grass , quickly setting the kindling alight.

"Hey! That's cheating, that's not the old way!" Beefy exclaimed.

" Yes it is love. The old way says about fire: 'Always keep it with you, and use the best way to make it. Use the spinning-fire-stick over the rain-sky-light-sound; the fire-rocks over the spinning-fire-stick; and the magic-fire-artifact over the fire-rocks.' " With the last part he shook the chrome Zippo in the air a few times.

"That's just a lighter, not a magic-fire-artifact. They didn't have such things back then." Beefy was feeling sore, his buddy taking him for a fool like that.

" Yes, it is a magic-fire-artifact." He said mater-of-factly. "See here?" Magnum pointed to a symbol engraved in to the lighter.

" That is the marking for magic, this one is the marking for fire, and that one is the marking for old-artifact." He handed the lighter to Beefy to examine.

" Though this is not a 'real' magic-fire-artifact, yes, they did have such thing back then." After adding some logs to the fire he sat across from Beefy and started his story.

" Long ago, our people were a great civilization, united and strong. We knew the secrets of the stars. But something happened and we lost that knowledge, that unity, that strength. Our people were stranded 'all across the sky' and life became like the 'first day' when the 'first-bull breathed'."

"What does that mean?" Beefy asked as he mixed the ink like magnum had previously told him to.

"Well it's not very clear, even to me, but my elders told me it meant that once, long ago, our people had an advanced civilization, with a powerful weapons, and great science, and technology. And we 'knew the secrets of the stars'- we had space flight is as best as I can figure. Then some terrible but unknown event transpired, and all that was lost, and our peoples were 'stranded across the sky', on whatever planet that were on at the time. Most of the ideas, facts and technology faded or were lost over time, and our people went back to the primitive life they once lived at the beginning of existence. Some things survived... artifacts. Artifacts like the magic-fire-artifact, I've seen it with my own eyes. Or the light-of-death-at-a-dozen-paces . Though I have never seen that one."

" So it's real?"

Beefy couldn't help but feel exited, and he looked up at the now dark sky, and across the stars that shown so bright. Just think! Any one of those could have a planet with others of his kind stranded. Magnum watched him with a smile.

"I'll tell you more later, let's make a torch, and put this fire out, it's getting cold. I think it's time to go inside."

The two then put the fire out and entered the cave. Magnum pinned the torch between two rocks, so that it adequately lit most of the small cave. He took the bowls of ink from Beefy and set them next to the wall, where they would not get knocked over in the dark..

" I thought you were going to show me how to cave paint." Beefy asked.

"I will, but the ink needs to settle and congeal first." Magnum said as he piled some dry earthy smelling leaves in to a mound in the middle of the cave.

" So tomorrow?" Beefy asked.

" Something like that." Magnum said cryptically.

"Here, lay down, I've made us a bed." Magnum said, though he looked distracted.

The two cuddled for a few hours time, too tired from the long days activity to do much more. They talked some of the day, but magnum wouldn't let tired beefy fall asleep, he kept waking him whenever he started to nod off.

" Don't worry, you'll get plenty of sleep soon." He would say. Beefy being so tired, didn't argue or question.

Then beefy was propelled to wide awake by a blinding white light that filled the cave, accompanied by the loudest crack of thunder that shook the very stone.

Magnums grasp on the smaller bull was all that kept Beefy from jumping up and running off. But it did little to prevent the loud bray of fright Beef helplessly emitted.

" Shh now, it's just thunder. Don't tell me your scared of it?" Magnum looked at the smaller bull clinging to his chest.

" No, it... just startled me." Beefy lied, trying to cover his embarrassing truth. It didn't help when he jumped again as another strike echoed off the hills in a long, loud, rolling crack.

"It's ok, from now on your going to like that sound." Magnum smiled confidently as the rain started to pour outside, and a slight trickle came down one wall, and drips started around them from the small holes in the caves roof. Beefy doubted that, but the sound of water on the trees outside was mesmerizing, and peaceful.

" It sounds like it's going to geta good watering..." Magnum mused aloud.

" What is going to get a good watering?" Beefy asked

" Nothing love." Magnum dismissed the question. " Be patient."

After a while Beefy closed his eyes and listened to the roar of the rain outside and thought about the many thing Magnum had told him. Then he felt his lover rub a hand across his leg and up his thigh. He sighed blissfully. Magnum was right he liked the sound of the rain now. Then he felt Magnums hand run up his other leg. Then a genital brushing across one of his arms. But something was wrong. One hand on his leg... but his love was under him, beefy was laying on magnums chest, and when Beefy opened his eyes, they were face to face, and Magnum had both his arms folded behind his head. If Magnum wasn't touching him, what was? A sound behind him coming from the dark black of the depths of the cave alerted him to trouble. He pulled his hoof away from whatever it was, and turned to look, but found it held fast by ...a vine. A flash from a lightning strike revealed a slowly moving mass of vines creeping towards them. And his legs already caught up in some.

"MAGNUM-" His cry was cut short by Magnum's lips pressing to his. When he broke Beefy was about to say something, but magnum put his finger to the bulls lips, and shushed him.

"Don't worry, love. It's ok. "Magnum assured.

Beefy did worry, and no it wasn't ok.

As the vines felt Beefy pull and struggle they locked on to him, more vines, a few dozen small, green, thread like ones, a dozen stronger green one-inch vines, and six or so large brown two- three inch vines descended upon him, and an equal number on Magnum whom didn't resist or fret the slightest.

The larger vines grasped Beefy's arms legs and neck. As he struggled the big brown vines coiled and hardened in to hard wood around his limbs pulling them out and holding tight and fast. Smaller ones felt and probed around finding his tail and twisting around it, lifted it. More rubbed around his trunk, and found his bull hood, wrapping around it, and his orbs. As they worked up his neck and felt across his face, he was terrified.

" This is a winter-sleeping-cave. That's a hibernation-pleasure-honey-vine, it's ok." Magnum calmly assured beefy as he befell the same fate.

" Don't fight it- or do, I think they somehow like it when you do."

The small green vines felt around under his tail and located the sensitive warm tail hole, and the small thread like vines being two weak to force their way in moved back as a larger green vine tried, but still to no avail, as Beefy in fear clenched as tight as possible. The two groups of vines worked together to conquer the hole, the thread like vines , being covered in tiny micro hairs rubbed and caressed the rim of the hole, and three larger vines waited for it to weaken. After a moment of holding out and continued struggling, small vines started working the bull-hood slowly, and the combined action of caressing vines brought down the bulls last defense and the larger vines pushed through and the three felt around the warm hole, sensing it was the right place. As he struggled to fight off and free himself from the attacking vines he managed to look back over his shoulder as the three probing vines quickly withdrew. A flash of lightning illuminated the cavern and Beefy saw a large vine approaching him from behind, snaking up between his hooves and closing on his rear. The tip was shaped rather like a bull's cock, dripping with sap and to slowly moving towards his fearfully exposed hole. But he couldn't watch long, as he succumbed to the vines vying for control of his face . He tried in vain to look back to face the approaching vine but the vines twisting around his horns prevented this. Even more wrapped around his muzzle and probed his mouth he struggled, all as he looked in to his smiling lovers face. The vines started to lift his rump to a suitable angle, and he felt the sticky sap of the bull-hood-shaped vine touch the outside of his hole. The other vines again caressed the rim and, it's defense fell to the invading vine, that took the opportunity to go deep. Magnum saw the look on Beefy's face, and mirthfully explained as the vines writhed around him, slowly engulfing him.

" Our people brought the hibernation-pleasure-honey-vine with them when they came to this world, it's perfectly safe."

As a second sap-covered bull-hood-shaped vine descended from above him and moved closer to Beefy's muzzle, which he held defiantly shut despite the pulls from the other vines.

"Ahh, the bull-vine, evolution at it's finest, it evolved to make its self more ...attractive... to bulls."

And as a second 'bull-vine' descended towards magnums mouth, he opened wide and licked the sap covered tip, as it approached. And started to suckle on it as it entered his mouth. Beefy watched in horror as Magnum closed his mouth around it, and a dozen vines instantly twisted and wrapped around Magnums snout, holding it shut.

His own bull-vine pressed through his lips but the barrier of tightly clenched teeth was one the vine could not overcome. So again, in a coordinated attack, the bull-vine deep in his rear thrust several times and the vines gently started to rub his bull hood again, the combined effect caused Beefy to gasp, and the bull-vine took the opportunity and slid in to his muzzle, but before Beefy could resist it, the other the vines quickly made the bull-vines gain permanent by wrapping around his muzzle. And then he tasted h sticky sap emanating from a hole on the tip of the bull-vine. Its taste was that of every bull's favorite thing: honey. Immediately he started to suckle on the vine, and was rewarded by a flow of sap, oozing in to his mouth and down his thought. Then the vines started to work, a net of root-like vines covered the warm wet place between the two bull's cocks and the vines touching each bull hood started to rub and caress, working in earnest to please each bull, and 'water' its thirsty roots with fertile and nutritious bull seed.

After both bulls had multiple orgasms, which left the roots bathed in seed, the bull-vines put the bulls to sleep with wonders' tasting sap.

When the two woke, they were well rested, and the most of vines were slowly withdrawing , some were dead and dried out, having not survived. Beefy moaned loudly as the bull-vine left his rear slowly, and slid back in to the dark depths of the cave. And as he slowly freed himself from the vines he sat up and looked at Magnum with a fond look that was genital, and un-accusing.

" Good morning Magnum. " He said as he stretched slowly and stood.

" Morning buddy." Magnum said with a yawn.

" Now I think I understand . I had ...dreams... I know what I want to paint."

"Good love, the paint should be congealed and ready now."

" So last night it settled?" Beefy asked.

" Last night? " Magnum broke out laughing." Last night... do you know what day it is?" He asked.

" Well yesterday was Saturday- so its Sunday." Beefy said not understanding what was so funny.

" Well I don't think its Sunday, if it is, it's Sunday of next month."

" Next month?" beefy asked confused.

" It's called a hibernation-pleasure-honey-vine for a reason." Magnum said smirking. " Now let's do that painting."

" But, how? Wouldn't we have died?" Beefy was now truly confused.

" No, you felt the vine penetrate you? You tasted the honey-sap? It feed you sap and feed from your seed and ...effects."

"..."

"It's a symbiotic plant. It evolved to get what it needs from a bull. It knows what a bull wants, and a bull has what it needs." As if to emphasize his point magnum picked off a small piece of dead vine wrapped around Beefy's balls, and pulled a root off his stained belly.

"We really should go find a stream or pool to bathe in. Come on. We can paint when we get back." Magnum once again lead Beefy off, doubtless to some other adventure or discovery.

A short story I wrote based on a dream and a thunderstorm this morning. It features my two favorite characters, Beefy the bull, and Magnum the bull. Both will be in a later series, but this will probably be a non-cannon story.

Note: I've never had a 'vine' type fantasy before, so this is a first. And rather spur of the moment.

Please vote, and do leave a comment, I want to know what you think!

Thanks,

Beefy.
