Here's part 3 of The Wolf's Requiem series, comments and suggestions are wanted so speak up.

"Damn Furs, who the fuck would want those feral animals around?" Jake's father shouted at the TV as it showed two Furs being interviewed.

"M-maybe they're not that bad dad," Jake stammered, thinking of Gale.

"They are that bad son, they're just as bad as those fags, need I remind you of what happened to your sister?" His father asked, adding depth on the word 'sister'.

"No, you don't need to remind me. I'm just thinking that not all of them are bad, that's all." Jake said, receiving a smack on the cheek as he finished.

"Don't ever say that, ALL Furs are the same, no matter what they may say." Jake's father said, a red burning in his eyes.

"John, please, he's just a child." Jake's mother stepped in to his protection.

"Stay out of this Mary," John said, giving her a slap on the face. Mary fell to the ground and started to curl in a ball.

John moved to Jake, pressed his hand around his son's throat and started to cut his air supply...

Jake slowly opened his eyes from the dream to light of the sun shining through the half closed window, he looked up to Gale's sleeping head and smiled slightly. Gale's musk entered his nose as he inhaled, his head buried into Gale's chest. Jake layed there for a few minutes, just looking at the wolf's sleeping form, Gale's fur slowly bristled and his black lipped, canine mouth twitched every now and then. Jake continued to look at him gently until he put a hand to the wolf's cheek and rubbed his thumb over the fur.

Gale slowly opened his eyes from the hold of sleep to the illuminated bedroom, feeling Jake's hand at his cheek. Gale smiled and put his mates hand into his paw, bringing him up into a kiss. The kiss lasted for a blissful eternity, until it did as all good things do, it ended.

"Good morning, hon." Gale said, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"Good morning to you too," Jake replied, "I hope I didn't wake you."

"You did, but I'm glad you did." Gale said with a another small kiss.

"Well it certainly an eventful night last night," Jake said with a cheeky smile.

"Well I had to make being a mate official."

"I'm glad we did," Jake said.

Before Gale could reply the door opened and a slightly aged wolf walked in, stopping at the sight of the nude frames of Gale and Jake. The wolf wore a dark gray overcoat, a polo shirt, and a pair of black trousers.

"Son, what's going on?" The older wolf asked, frowning at them, as Jake slid off of Gale.

"Dad, I can explain." Gale said getting up.

"Get dressed I'll meet you downstairs," the older wolf said. He exited the room without another word and left Gale and Jake in silence.

Gale and Jake got dressed quickly, the memory of how coming out ended last time fresh in their minds. They slowly exited the warm, sunny room and onto the landing. As they walked down the stairs the smell of fresh coffee met their noses, making them look at each other, sparking a little fear in them. Walking into the dinning room they were met by Gale's father sitting at the table with three mugs of coffee on the table, the old wolf looking into his mug with his one unscared eye.

"Sit," the older wolf said bluntly, which they did.

"So, you are mated to my son?" He asked Jake.

"Y-yes sir," Jake stammered.

"You know it's tradition a male must ask the possible mate's father for a blessing before the act. Although this isn't exactly where tradition account for much." Gale's father said with his teeth bared slightly, almost like a sign of aggression.

Jake gulped slightly, gory images ran through Jake's mind of what the wolf might do to him now he openly admitted that tradition wasn't a problem.

Gale's father sat there for a moment, almost statue still while giving Jake a stern look, before looking at Gale. "So, son, you're gay?" He asked.

"Yes," Gale said just as bluntly, a slight blush setting in.

"Do you both love each other?"

"Yes," they both answered in unison.

"Then it's fine by me," the wolf said with a smile, his tail started wagging slightly.

Jake and Gale mirrored a face of surprise to each other.

"A-are you serious?" Jake asked out of shock.

"Yeah, I may not understand it but, anyone my son trusts that much must be a good one." The wolf said, tail wagging with increasing speed, bearing his teeth more which Jake realised was his way of smiling.

"Thanks dad," Gale said smiling in a similar, but in a slightly more human, way.

"Now drink up, that coffee is going cold," Gale's father said.

When the coffee was finished and put in the sink the two wolves went into the living room to have private chat, which gave Jake time to look around the room.

The room was decorated with a number of tribal-like items, feathery dream-catchers, a small animal themed totem pole, and an assortment of knifes and guns that had a animal feel to them. The view of the weapons made Jake feel he had just reason to fear Gale's father at least a little. The room itself was medium sized in an rectangle shape, small shelves allowed the tribal-like items . A solitary light filled the room with it's warmth from the middle of the ceiling, giving the room a slight yellow aura to it.

As Jake got up to look at the room better Gale came back alone, wearing of confused look on his face.

"What's wrong?" Jake asked worriedly.

"My father, h-he gave us his blessing for the mating and he's allowing you to stay."

"He is?" Jake asked, his mouth gaping open.

"Yes," Gale said smiling.

"That's great," Jake said, hugging Gale in a bear hug.

"Hug. Ribs. Collapsing." Gale said, half choked.

"Sorry," Jake said, letting him go. "I'm just happy."

"I'm glad too, I still can't believe he actually gave us his blessing." Gale said, still looking shocked.

"How about we go and celebrate?" Jake said, putting his arms around Gale's middle

"That sounds like a plan," Gale said, giving Jake a small kiss.
