#4 of I gave you all.

Here we go. I decided to scrap my draft and start from scratch. Sorry about the wait.

_ _Three Days later.

"What the hell do you mean 'He's gone'!?" Jack snaps. David, the human landlord blinks in surprise before answering with rivalling ferocity. "What do you think Jack?"..._He spits. _"I haven't seen him in days." He turns back to his work._ "Now if you're quite don-"_ "When?" Jack interrupts. "What?" "When did you last see him?" Jack urges. "I told you! A few days ago...um...Wednesday." He remembers. Jack perks up at this. Wednesday was...the...the fateful day. "What time?" "I don't know...it was late. Maybe...Ten?" David was getting visibly irritated. That would put it about an hour after he'd last seen him. "Okay. What was he doing? Did he say anything?" David sighs heavily. "Look Jack...It's really none of your business. And Frankly, I really have no right to share anything about my tenants" Jack starts to growl before coming to his senses and calming down. "Please David. He's my friend, and you know I wouldn't intrude unless it was important. So just tell me please?" David seems to begin to debate the point. But seems to relent. "Fine. He came downstairs in a coat. I asked him where he was going and he just put his key on the counter and left. He still had three months of rent paid in advance." He stops and studies Jacks reaction for a moment. "Is there...something I should know Jack?" Jack sighs. "I honestly don't know David." He seems to think for a moment. "Do you have his work number?"

"No! INGRAM!...I-N-G-R-A-M. Oliver Ingram!" _ Jack was almost, but not quite, shouting. _"Please Hold..." Came the reply. "Oh for the love of- Hello?...Yes. I'm calling about a friend of mine. Oliver Ingram...." "Might I ask who this is?" "My name is Jack Perrin. I'm a friend of Olivers." Jack answered with gritted teeth. "Well, sir. I'm afraid I can't help you. I'm not at liberty to discuss-" Jack interrupts quickly. "I'm not after personal information! It's just that I haven't seen Oliver in several days and I need to know whether there's something wrong." "I'm afraid I can't help you there sir. Mr Ingram hasn't been here since Wednesday. If there are private matters you need to discuss. I can direct you to his emergency number." "Please."

"Doctor Sears?" Jack spoke wearily. "Yes...Can I help you?" _The answering voice was gruff and Husky. "_I'm Jack Perrin. I'm a friend of Oliver Ingram. I've been trying to contact him and was directed to you. Can you help me find him?" "...When did you last speak to him?" The doctor sounded hesitant. "Wednesday evening. I've checked around. His landlord hasn't seen him and when I checked his workplace they directed me to you." At this point, Jack sounded desperate. "Damn...When you wer given my number. Were you also given an address?" This took Jack by surprise. "Yes..." " __Good. Come meet me within the hour I think we need to discuss this in person."_ Click* _

_ Jack stared at the phone. The dead tone ringing in his ears. What just happened? He dropped the Hand set and sat down heavily. Vic noticed this and and placed a tentative paw on his shoulder. Jack turned and smiled sadly. _"No luck?" Vic Inquired softly. Beginning to rub Jacks shoulder soothingly. Jack sighed. "Not exactly. Just one dead end after another...but we can't pass up this opportunity. Come on." He stood up. Stretching himself. Vic tilted his head questioningly. "Where are we going?" He stood up to follow Jack anyway. "To see Ollie's Doctor. He asked to speak in person." He led Vic outside and walked down the road. Glancing at the address written on a notebook. "It's not far." "Doctor?" Vic seemed extremely confused by this revelation. He almost had to jog to keep up with the larger wolf. "What doctor?" "Doctor Sears." Jack answered, Still walking. "His job directed me to him...Why?...You didn't know?" Vic felt his ears flatten against his head. "No...". He kept silent for a few minutes. Managing to keep pace with Jack. "Jack...?". "Yes Vic?" "What...what are we going to do?...You know...when we find him? " Jack slowed down and looked at him. Puzzled. "What do you mean?" "I mean...after everything that's...after everything that's happened. Wouldn't it be best if we just...left him alone?" Vic mumbled timidly. "What!?"..._Jack snapped. _"Just leave him and carry on?...After all we've done to him?...Have you gone insane?" "No!...It's just...He obviously doesn't want to see us. Maybe we should honour that. At east for the time bei-" "NO!" Jacks ferocity shocked Vic. He'd never seen Jack act like this."We're going to find him! And we're going to make sure he's okay!...That's the end of the discussion Vic. Do you understand?" "...Yes" Vic sighed. Defeated. "It's just...we don't how he'll react_ and...Jack?...Jack are you listening?_ Silence was the response. Jack had stopped walking and simply stared at something. Vic stopped talking and followed his gaze.
