#2 of The Wolf's Requiem

So next part is ready, it's going to be quite a bit before part 3 is ready so you'll have to wait for it.

Gale sat in the seat of his car, looking into the mirror of the car. His feral eyes looked back at him, the golden ring around each large pupil showed the entire of his life, his past, his present, his future. Gale started the car and drove down the street covered in white snows, houses passing him by. Gale took a street to the graveyard and slowed down, looking inside.

He spent only a second looking before he sped up slightly and drove past, a solemn tear rolled down his cheek. His journey took him to the local hospital, driving through the front gate and parking in spot in front of the building. Gale got out silently, picking up a bouquet of flowers and a medallion.

Gale looked at the medallion and started reading the words that were pressed into it. "Until the end, mated until the end of time."

He got out and closed the car door and started walking into the main entrance, keeping the medallion in his paw. He went to the main counter and asked for the room. The walls were as white as the outside of the building, clean and spotless.

He came to ward 11 and passed the rooms with patients laying on beds until the final one. Looking inside he saw the only source of happiness he knew, a human male lying on a bed, the room solitary from other patients. Gale walked up to the sleeping man, giving his forehead a short kiss. The body stirred and then rested as Gale drew away, a small smile on the human's face. Gale took the medallion and put it around the human's neck, attaching it together at the back.

"Don't wake up too early, I need to do something before we see each other again," Gale said as he kissed Jake's forehead and placed the flowers on the side table. Gale left the room and turned down the ward, leaving the 11thward and went up the 1st. The room he came to was similar to Jake's but attached to the patients wrists were a pair of handcuffs were connecting him to the bed. Gale opened the door and entered the room.

Being in the same room as the human made Gale deeply sick, the stench of Jake's blood still pungent on him. Gale's flexed his paws and a pair of metal blades sprung out from below either paw. In barely a second the blades were at the human's neck, slightly digging into his neck.

"I know you're awake," Gale said, "I want to make it very clear that the human you shot, yeah, I love him and I _will_protect him. If anything, even a hair on his head, is damaged by your hands, you will die. Do I make myself clear?"

The human slowly nodded and gulped slightly.

"You won't mention this to the police, right?" Gale said, pressing the knifes closer to the human's neck.

He shook his head, "n-no, sir."

"Good, good boy." Gale said leaving the room in a flash.

The next day went by in a blur for Jake, visited by doctors, and nurses, only seeming to slow down for Gale's visits. His mother and father came to visit him on the third and final day of his stay, asking all the questions parents always asked.

Jake's father was a tall, powerful man with thinning hair on the top of his head. Jake's mother on the other hand was medium hight, lean, and had long flowing sand blonde hair.

"We see you are doing well," Jake's father said.

"Yeah I'm doing well," Jake answered shortly. "How are you?"

"We're good," his father answered. Jake looked away nervously and then back at them.

"Son, is there something wrong?" His mother asked him.

"Well..."

"You know you can tell us anything," his father told him, giving him a reassuring smile.

"I know," he said giving a small pause. "You remember Gale?"

"Oh yes, the nice wolf boy." His mother said.

"Yes him. Well before I got shot, and I think the reason I got shot was that..." Jake stopped for a moment, gulping the lump in his throat, before speaking again. "We made out in the forest."

"You what?" His mother and father asked in unison.

"We made out, ok?"

Jake heard his father whisper something under his breath.

"What was that?" Jake asked.

"Zoophilic homo," his father said to his son.

"How dare you say that?" Jake asked as Gale entered the room.

"What's going on?" Gale asked

"I'll tell you what's going on. You snogged my son you feral fuck!" His father said outraged, punching him in the eye.

Gale fell to the floor and growled up at Jake's father, giving him a devil's glare. He slowly got up, shaking from anger, and pressed a paw to his eye. Gale continued to give a loud growl with his claws unsheathed that made both Jake's parents move back a step. He then walked over to Jake and kissed him passionately, putting his paws into Jake's hands.

"You see," Gale said breaking the kiss, his anger lowering, "we love each other, which is more than can be said for you because if you did love him truly you'd accept him."

His father spoke in a stern voice to Jake trying, and failing, to concealing his anger. "Don't bother coming to our house, it's no longer your home. We'll mail your stuff to your next place of residence." His father left the room in silence. His mother looked at him with shocked eyes.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She said.

"Please, leave." Jake said with sadness.

"Honey please."

"Don't make this any harder than it already is."

With that his mother turned around with tears in her eyes, leaving the room silently. Jake turned his head on its side, unable to go onto his stomach, and started to sob.

Gale brought Jake up and put his furry arms around him, slowly bringing him into a deep hug. Jake continued to sob into Gale's fur.

"Shhh, I'm here." Gale said comforting him, "you can come to live with me. Don't worry about anything."

Jake's gentle sobbing continued for minutes before he looked up at Gale's snouted face with sad eyes. A small smile crept onto Jake's face as he looked up, pressing his lips against Gale's. The kiss lasted for a blissful moment before it came to an end, both of them looking deeply into each other's eyes.

"How did I ever deserve you?" Jake asked, putting a hand on Gale's soft cheek.

"You've always deserved better. You have seen nothing but hell yet you've faced everything with a happy go lucky attitude. You even trusted me and got others to trust when they thought otherwise. It would be an honour and an absolute pleasure if you would even consider accepting living with me."

"Oh God, that was the most beautiful thing anyone has ever said to me." Jake said hugging Gale. "Of course I'll live with you, did you even need to doubt?"

"You know me, the constant worrier." Gale said, going out of the hug slightly to look deeply into Jake's emerald eyes.

"So..." Jake started, "When can I leave this place?"

"Right now," Gale said putting his paw into Jake's hand.

Jake slowly exited the bed with a sigh and tried to stand, only to achieve failing back onto the bed with a huff.

Gale put an arm around his upper back, under the elbows and helped him up.

"Thank you," Jake said as they slowly walked out of the room.

"My pleasure, my love." Gale replied.

Jake slowly found his feet as they walked down the ward, needing less support from Gale who still helped him though. Jake and Gale registered out, walked to Gale's car and entered, driving in silence on the way to Gale's home.

Gale stopped the car and went to open his door when he looked at Jake, who wore a solemn expression. Gale put a paw onto his knee as tears appeared in his eyes.

"What's wrong?" Gale asked with concern.

"My life is falling around me," Jake said. He pushed his face into the fur of Gale's neck, seeking comfort within the thick black fur. "You're the only thing that's still a constant."

"Jake, shh. It's going to be fine, ok?" Gale asked, putting his arms around Jake's shoulders.

"I hope so," Jake whispered, slowly getting out of the car and slumped to the wall next to the door.

Gale got out himself and opened the door for Jake, who went in without a word. Gale sighed before entering into the house himself.
