The sound of the citofono1startled Ale, even more so since it caught him in a very strange situation, red pawed while looking at Luca's... stuff.

"Cazzo2!" The rottie cursed, rushing out of the room, thoughts about dildos and their possible usage tossed in the back of his mind. Maybe it was because of his discovery, but he didn't went to answer at his usual, calm pace, feeling that the sooner he did it, the better chances whoever it was wouldn't think of him pawing gay toys.

To add to his current mental state, he didn't know who was waiting downstairs. No one was scheduled to come that day, so it could be either an obnoxious neighbor, the postman, some damn door to door salesman or, even worse, a Jehovah witness.

While crossing the alleyway, just a few meters away from the intercom, he came out with another possibility, one that stopped him in his tracks. Maybe it was Clara, worried about him not answering, wanting to comfort him and cheer him up and-

"Cazzo!" The canine repeated, blushing at the fact he was making his girlfriend wait while she wanted to console him. The ringing had sounded more insistent this time around, so it was with trepidation that he picked up the intercom, leaning it against his triangular folded ear.

"Sì?" He said, holding his breath in the anticipation of hearing the sweet and melodic voice of his-

"Ale? It's me, Valerio!" The answer coming from the other end had a clearly masculine timbre, even if a youngish one, and he wouldn't have needed to hear the name to recognize to whom the voice belonged.

"Hey Valerio! Come va3?" The rottie managed to reply without stuttering or sounding disappointed.

"I'm fine! Can I come up?" The other canine said between the statics of the intercom. That was a problem that had been plaguing them for months, but nothing they did had fixed it.

"Yes, sure!" He granted his request, pressing the button to open the front door of the building. Certainly, he wouldn't have imagined getting a visita a sorpresa4 by the lupo's younger brother, but that didn't mean he could chase him away; he needed to be a good host and welcome him.

"Speaking of which..." The rottie murmured, peering down on his half-clothed body; sure, he was on cordial and friendly terms with Vale, but it would have been rude to welcome him bare-chested, and still sporting the results of the sudden finding.

Quickly padding to his room, he grabbed some lousy-fitting gym shorts and a shirt, il Fato5 giving him one of his favorite, the yellow one with the symbol of Ratman*. Knowing his luck, he didn't have much more time to get nicer clothes, even though the blue of his shorts clashed badly with the yellow over it.

The black canine was just going back to the entrance when the doorbell rang, announcing that a tall, young lupo was waiting outside. He approached the door calmly, as if he had all the time in the world, and opened it, a grinning Valerio staring back at him beyond the threshold.

"Ciao Ale!" The other dog greeted him cheerfully, stepping inside the apartment while looking around. "Is Luca at home?"

The rottie stared a bit at him before answering, puzzled at the question. "Tuo fratello non c'é6, he had to tour those guys today, remember?"

The words lingered in the air for a few seconds while the restorer closed the door, sinking in and causing signs of embarrassment in the student of Economics. His suddenly flushed cheeks and moving ears were proves enough that he had totally forgotten about the tour.

"I-it's today? Porca troia7!" The other canine exclaimed loudly, turning away from the rottie as to hide his shame.

"Yes, it is today." The Rottweiler grinned, amused by the reactions of the lupo. He had always liked comedy, and nothing was better than real life comedy, unfolding before his very eyes.

"Shit! Here I thought I was going to make a surprise..." Vale moped in a sullen voice, ears laid flat on his skull. That was very heartwarming, to see the little bro trying to visit his elder and so on... A small tear trailed on the black furred cheek, though it might have been for the effort not to laugh.

"Well, you surprised me, which should be enough! Though, you should have warned..." The older canine said, motioning him to the living room. The lupine moved to the other room, setting himself on the couch without asking, although he didn't need to.

"But I like to make surprise to my big brother!" The wolf protested loudly, almost whining like a pup, showing his real age and maturity.

"Yes, but he hates when you come for lunch without being accounted for. Because you wanted to stay for lunch, right?" The rottie teased him, sitting on the other end of the couch, a leg folded beneath his body. From the look of Valerio, he had once again guessed right.

"Of course, it's almost noon after all! I guess I should warn mom I'm coming back home..." He said, his paw going to grab his smartphone to put his words into actions.

"Nononono, don't worry! You can eat with me, after all." Ale stopped him, even grabbing the lighter-colored paw.

"Are you sure? Isn't Clara coming over, or something? I don't want to intrude..." The lupo asked, looking a bit undecided on accepting the offer. The name of the German Shepherd knifed at his heart, but his smile didn't go away.

"Don't worry; she is busy today with friends, so you won't bother me at all." The rottie lied, not wanting to say more about the matter. He still needed to talk with Luca, after all, he shouldn't tell his little brother before him; the older lupo was his best friend, after all.

"Really? Yay!" Valerio exulted, his tail wagging sideways thanks to his seated position. That was a cute characteristic he shared with his brother, they always put their tail so that it stucks from the sides; he was almost jealous of that, since he was born before the tradition of docking tails fell into misuse.

"Eheheh, you will pass some time with your other brother!" The rottie chuckled, happy that there was at least one Rienzi around. It wasn't the one he would have preferred, sure, but it was still nice to have the pup there.

"I'm not your brother." The other pouted, then stuck his tongue out, as he always did when they had this exchange. After all, Ale had known him since he was in middle school, so he deserved the honorary title of brother.

"Yes you are." The dark canine ruffled the student's headfur, not forcefully, just to tease him a bit. The lupo endured the treatment with a smile that persisted even after.

"So, what were you doing before I arrived?" The taller dog asked him legitimately, with the curiosity that was his chief characteristic. The Rottweiler had expected such a question, so he managed not to blush or show any incriminating signs that would give away his indecent search.

"I just watched TV, then mi sono stufato8and I decided to play." He answered, trying to look more relaxed, sprawling on his side of the couch as if nothing else had happened.

"Classical Saturday, it seems. What game?" The other continued his friendly inquisition, luckily not detecting that there was a hole in the sequence of events. It seemed that the rottie still had a knack in hiding things, that was good.

"Uhm, I wanted to play Skyrim, but it seems that a certain lupo italiano still holds it..." Ale teased, poking said canine in his ribs, his tone a bit accusatory. Maybe he was more forceful than usual since the tormented ragazzo9 huffed at the poke, but that was a small revenge for what he had caused, a face to face encounter with gay sex.

As expected, the accusation made Valerio turns red, his light colored fur not helping at all in concealing it and confirming his suspicions that he hadn't given the game back yet.

"I-I am still playing it, with university and stuff and going out and..." He trailed off, flustered to be caught in his misbehaving.

"... And playing FIFA." The rottie concluded for him, once again facendoci centro10. He didn't know why, but he always read those lupo boys like an open book, probably thanks to their long term acquaintance.

"... Yes. I've been awfully busy!" The wolf finished justifying himself, his cheeks blushing so hard that the rottie feared he would collapse for the lack of blood in the rest of his body. The thought made him laugh, finally, not a mean laugh, just a laugh of amusement, joined by the other canine after a few seconds.

"... If you want I can go home and grab it!" The lupine proposed him, even though he didn't sound that serious, and for good reasons since it would be dickish of him to expect that.

"Naaaaaahhhh since you are here we can play some other games!" He waved off the proposal, as it was natural for him. One thing would have been if he was alone, but with the lupo there he could play many multiplayer games.

"You're right! I still need to have my rivincita11on Trivia Pursuit..." The wolf said, his voice getting an evil tone, he even put his fingers in the classical pyramid of evil contemplation.

"You can try, but not succeed! I might not have your brother's culture, but I am quite knowledgeable!" The buff dog retorted, already anticipating his victory in that game. After all, he was a damn graduate in history of art, he knew lots of things related to it and, incidentally, things that were related to.

"Yeah, but I beat you in the sports department!" The other grinned; he was telling the truth, after all. Even that wouldn't save him from a scorching defeat!

"We will see... for now, we should eat, don't you think?" Ale proposed, his stomach almost rumbling. With all of his moping around, inspecting Luca's room, and the commotion caused by the lupo's arrival, he had almost forgotten that it was lunch time. Now, though, a sane hunger was on him, forcing him to forage for food.

"Oh yeah, we should! What are you planning to do?" The wolf sprung on his feet, already assuming that the host was going to cook.

"Uhm, let me think..." The rottie stood up, mentally going through the fridge. He padded to the kitchen, shepherding the young student there. "Uhm, I think we have some pesto left... So, what about pasta?"

"Pesto?" The lupine repeated, ears perking up, his tongue lolling out at the thought of the savory basil, parmesan and pine nuts sauce. "You know that it's my favorite!"

"Eheheheh, yeah, lo so12!" He chuckled, amused by the other's enthusiasm. "You go and fetch it for me. I will start the water!"

The wolf did as told, going to the fridge and peering inside it to find the treasure, while the rottie grabbed a medium pot and filled it with hot water, so that it would boil sooner. They were both really hungry, so to speed up things further he put a lid, not putting salt in the water yet since it would be a hindrance.

Vale had found the pesto and put it besides the cooking canine, going straight to get the table cloth and the other things to set the table. The fact that he did without asking made the rottie proud, though he had to come to the rescue since he had grabbed the good table cloth.

"You know that you are always welcome here, but Luca would throttle you if you used the good table cloth!" He warned the lupo, taking away the nice red cloth and bringing the more used one with little ducklings on it.

"Oh yeah, it's his dowry or something." The lupine joked, already busy with dishes and glasses. Ale put back the cloth, being careful to fold it back as neatly as possible.

"Non sfottere13, it was a gift from my mom, when we went to live together." He explained to him. His mom was fond of doing such gifts, it had embarrassed him a bit when she gave the cloth to Luca; they hadn't used it ever since, too scared to dirty it and damaging beyond repair.

"Ohhhhh so it's not his dowry, it's one of his wedding gifts!" Vale poked at him, finishing setting the table and just staring at him. The rottie just occupied himself with watching the water and getting the pasta, not wanting to give fodder to the young canine.

"So, when is your anniversary?" The pup asked teasingly, after finally sitting on one of the chair. His tail stuck out from it, so the buff restorer could see that he was wagging of amusement when he glanced over his shoulder.

"You mean, the day when we went to live together? It is the 23rdof September." He answered him absent-mindedly, putting the pasta in the boiling water with a pinch of salt.

"Ohhhhhhh you remember it without thinking too much! That's cute." The wolf jabbed at him with a snug tone, as if he knew what that meant or something. Truth to be told, he wasn't liking the implication that he and Luca were a couple... They weren't after all, and he had Clara to bout... right?

"W-well, I remember it well because it's the Equinox of Autumn and such, no other reasons!" He quickly explained, hiding his blush with the pretend on checking the pasta. That was the true reason after all, even though it was also the day they met and... Damn relationship implications!

"Yeah, yeah, right..." The wolf just trailed off, content of what his words were causing. Or maybe waiting to think about some other jab to deliver, he wasn't sure. The pasta was al dente now, or at least the sampling he bit down was, so he scolò la pasta14, quickly putting it back in the pot and adding the sauce, coloring the hot food in a nice green.

"Here it is!" Ale exclaimed, bringing the pot to the table and pouring its contents in the plates, all fuming and giving out yummy scents. Putting aside the empty pot, the rottie heaved himself on his chair, grabbing his fork to get a mouthful of the pasta right away, chewing it with delight while his tasting buds exulted.

"I think you and Luca would make a good couple." The attack came out of nowhere while his mouth was full of food, the lupo smirking at him from above his plate before stuffing his muzzle with pasta. The sudden jab almost threatened to choke him, but he swallowed before he began to cough unceremoniously.

"Uhm, what makes you think that?" Ale slowly replied, he kept eating so to not let the other know how much inner turmoil that statement had caused to him. It was peculiar that the brother of his best friend shipped him with a straight guy... Unless the pup thought he wasn't straight... But any reaction at all would worsen the situation, so he didn't speak his thoughts.

"I really don't know... You two work so well together, sharing an apartment and being always ready for each other." Valerio explained while waving his fork, though he wolfed down the pasta when he was done speaking.

"Uhm. That's called being friends and roommates, you know." The older dog snorted, a bit annoyed that the fact that one of them was gay and they got along could imply they would be a good couple. After all, if straight friends did the same no one would think that....

"Maybe you are right. Plus, I don't see you doing the stuff gay men... does." The pup completed, blushing heavily once again, caught in his own trap. The restorer wasn't a mean fur and didn't tease him about that, he knew that the other had problems on the subject of gay sex; he wasn't accustomed at the idea as much as the rottie was.....

"... That thought was wrong on so many levels." Alessandro shook his big head. Sure, he was well documented and he was just recovering from finding a dildo, sure, but he wasn't that much of an expert, and he didn't think about that kind of stuff much!

"Humph." He cleared his throat to get out of the silence that had fallen on them. A silence meal was something weird to him. "So, plans for the summer?"

"With my friends I was thinking of going to Ibiza, maybe." The lupo answered, getting back his usual cheer and away from the glooming thoughts of gay sexuality.

"Ohhhhhh you are going to get so much tail!" He approved, knowing from experience that it would be like that. The vacation he had there after the end of high school had been the craziest one he had ever had.

"Yeah, and disco, and some beach time every now and then!" The lupo grinned. "For sleeping, of course."

"Of course." Ale concurred before entering big brother mode. "Just be careful, don't drink too much and always use protection."

"Oh, don't worry, I will bring lots of condoms!" The lupo assured him with a nod, just cleaning his plate from the last of the pasta. "What about you?"

"I am not sure yet when my ferie15 will be, I will plan accordingly." The rottie answered, concentrating on finishing his own meal.

"Maybe with Clara, eh?" Vale concluded, rising from the seat to grab an apple from the fruit bowl.

"Yeah... Maybe..." The Rottweiler murmured half-convinced, ears dropping for a split of second, thankfully while the other's back was turned.

"If we are still together by then." He sighed in his mind.
