Sorry for the long wait. This is still a short chapter for a few reasons. A little writer's block combined with a heavy work load from school and my job. Any way enjoy and as always sonas belong to their respective owners.

As Fen returned to camp he read mixed reactions to the light, but increasingly heavy, rain on his companions faces. Much to his surprise, the wolf-tiger, Jeremy, looked overjoyed and was actively purring as he got drenched, his tail wagging rapidly.

Darky, the panther-wolf, on the other hand... Fen had to suppress a chuckle at the panolf's fluffed-up fur as he searched desperately for decent shelter from the rain, mewing and woofing softly but frantically. Ryker, the folf in their group, simply watched the other two, not even bothering to hide his mirth and laughter, clearly indifferent to the rain.

Walking over to Ryker, Fen states "Well there certainly isn't any shortage of water now! Although how much they," he twitches his ears towards the other two, "appreciate it is certainly different..."

Ryker chuckled. "Too true, however we probably should find shelter. If only to get that one," he stated, flicking his nine tails towards the panolf. "to stop flipping out about the rain and his fur."

The wusky nods fervently in agreement with that sentiment. "The best place I know of is in the caves under Windstorm Waterfall that feeds the lake of the Silver Kings. It's still in the forest, but a bit of a hike from here. Plus... we still need to get answers from that one."

Both canines glance at the tiger-wolf, sitting relatively high in a tree. Ryker nods wearily. "Indeed. I've never known the kingdom to simply leave someone from the army alone, much less one of their knights who is actually still of the bloodline, especially with armor and weaponry. The caves are sounding good but-"

He's suddenly interrupted by the two remaining members of their group, with Darky cutting in quickly. "What's this about caves? And can't we find somewhere closer to get out of this? I'm cold and soaked!"

Ryker growls in annoyance at the half-feline's comment. "No, but since you're done complaining for today, and the one with the supposed stealth and hunting capabilities, you can try to track down our next meal."

The folf gave him the death glare before tossing the panolf his bow and nudging him forward. "Fine. It's true I'm the best suited for hunting, but what are the rest of you doing?" he asked smirking.

Fen stayed calm, where Ryker and Jeremy were getting irritated, and cut them off. "I'm going to scout out ahead for our trip soon. Those two I'm hoping will try to find somewhere that's at least dry enough to cook the meat. After we eat, we're heading for the Windstorm falls and lake of the Silver Kings. Hopefully we can stay there for a while. It's sheltered from the elements, provides fresh water, and still forested so it's a good place to hide from the kingdom. And that's not counting the fact there should be plenty of food there.

"Furthermore, the trek will give us a chance to better know each other. We've all taken watch at some point and so we all know every one of us is sleeping with our weapons. We don't know each other yet, so we don't trust each other, and quite frankly if we don't start working as a group we're dead." Fen quite suddenly stops talking, not used to being the center of attention.
