Drako's wish, a dragons Tale

Chapter Six: Valley in Flames

I woke up in a daze the next morning. It was warm in the chamber, hmm. I slipped to the side of the bed and sat there for a few minutes. I got up and walked over to my dresser. I looked into the mirror. I saw a young teenage Dragon Kid looking back at me. I had completely changed since I got here. My heir and changed color to a dark cherry blonde. I had no shirt on so I got a good view of my chest. It was completely covered sapphire blue scales. I could also tell that I've gotten stronger since I met Marina. I slowly put my clothes on and made my way to the lounging chamber. When I made it to the chamber I noticed that the chamber door was closed. Behind it I heard crying and weeping. I crept up to hear what going on.

"Yes he passed away during the night. One of his fellow dragon maids went to check on him after you and Drako left him and found him dead on the. She found him with this crumbled up in his hand..." I heard Neona voice said.

I pushed the door opened. Everybody looked at me in surprise. Marina came up and gave me hug. "I'm so sorry Drako." She apologizes.

'What does she have to be sorry about? Wait"

"What happened last night?" I looked at them all.

"You're Father passed away during the night

"No it can't be." I backed up.

Neona came up and tried to give me a hug for support but I moved quickly before she hugged me. I ran off. I heard them yell after me. I ran out of the cave and jumped off the cliff. I spread my wings for the first time and flapped them hard to stay in the air. I rubbed my eyes as I flew towards an oddly shape statue. I landed as carefully as I can. I looked around starting to feel myself let go. I started to cry. "God Damn it." I fell to my knees punching the ground hard. "For once I had a father I never knew about and he slips away. Why? Why do these things happen to me?" I cried out in anger. It started to rain and thunder. "So you don't like me ether huh, big man. Well you know what FUCK YOU!" I roared.

I felt fire literally grow inside the pit of my stomach. "Why does it happen to me? Why not someone else? UUUUGGGHH, GOD DAMN IT!" I cried out. It was not fair.

I felt arms wrap around me. "It's okay just let it go." I heard Marina's voice. I turned around and cried in her lap. "It's not fair. Why did Father died? It's not fair."

She ran her fingers through my heir, talking in cool voice. "It was his time."

"I finally found out I actually had a Dad that I never knew of and then he died." I said within breaths. "What did Dad write down on that piece of paper?"

"It said 'Drako I am sorry that you only had the chance to meet me but it is time for me to go. I will see you again someday in another world. Who knows you may see your mother again. Do your best in life. I love you son. I can't write in words of how proud I am to have a son like you. I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you when you lived at that awful place. Find it in your heart to forgive me.

You're Father.'"

I looked up. "Damn you Dad."

It was several hour later until I finally stop my crying. Me and Marina flew back home and I quickly went back into my room and went to bed.

During the night I was woken with startle. "Drako may I sleep with you?" I heard Marina whispered.

I moved over for she could get in. "No I don't mind. I would like to have you with me." We cuddled up. I wrapped my right arm around her side to her back to pull her closer.

I could feel her breast press up against my chest. Boy I wish I could take it to the next step but, I don't think I'm ready just yet. I kissed her on the lips. "God I love you."

"Yes honey I know." She whispered slowly falling asleep in my arms.

'She an angel... No she more then an angel.' I smiled to myself. I smelt a loving sweet smell filled the air. It made my mind go foggy. I fell into dream world.

The next morning I found myself cuddling up with Marina. I smiled at her. I moved a bit. Something felt weird. I looked under the covers and almost yelp out. I was naked, my eyes trailed over to Marina and gasped. She was too. I scratched my head. Trying to recall what happened last night. "Damn what happened last night?" I couldn't remember a thing after Marina came in. She opened her eyes. "Good morning my sweets love Draggy. Last night was amazing." She looked at my expression and frowned.

"Don't tell me you don't remember what we did."

I quickly smiled and told her, "Of course not how could I." I lied, fearing on what she could do.

She leaned up and kissed me. She got up and slipped on her skimpy clothes and walked off out of my room.

I frowned, "Did I do what I think I did?" I got up and got dressed. I walked into the lounge and to notice a smell. "Hmm what smells good?"

"That would be cookies."

"Neona I need to talk to you for second if you don't mind." I asked her, motioning her to the next chamber.

She fallows me and looked at me with confusion.

"Neona, I'm going to be leaving soon. I'm going out to find these three keys and the Staff of Openings. I also need to leave to do some rethinking. I'll be taking Marina with me for company." She just stared at me.

"Drako you don't have to consult me about it. Just do it." She stated.

"Well I just wanted to let you know about what's going down. But I will let you in on something. I will not be leaving until after Christmas so I'll have plenty of time to get ready." I grinned. "Now I'm going to find Marina and tell her the news."

I walked off into the next few chambers.

"My god what am I going to do with him?" She laughed walking back to the little kitchen.

"Hey Marina where are you?" I yelled, looking around. I walked out into the morning sun shine. It was a little bit cold. I walked up to my spot. I looked down into the Valley below and saw several dragons cuddling under tree. I sat down on ground. I heard some foot steps behind me. "You know it's not polite to sneak up on someone, Marina."

She wrapped her arms around me. "You know it's weird. You've only been here for a few months but feels like years."

"I know how you feel. This was the first thing in my life that I could call home. Now I need to leave it to find the keys."

"Don't forget about the Staff of Openings." She reminded me.

"I know."

We kissed. "I love you." I told her. It felt like something not right. Like something is out of place. I came to my senses and bolt up onto my feet. "Do you feel that?"

She looked at me funny. "Feel what? What's the matter?"

I heard a loud thunderous roar. Like a dragon in pain. I looked down into the valley below and saw fast moving shadows slaughtering the young hatchlings and even the older ones.

Marina gasped in horror as we watch all the dragons down below being killed one by one. I turned to Marina, "Go get the others. I go help down there."

"But-

"GO NOW MARINA!" I yelled.

She flew off back towards the cave. I looked down in horror. I leapt up off the edge of the cave. I fell about two stories before opening my wings. I glided down to the valley. I shot a fire ball at one of the shadows which was on top of a female Hatchling. The fire ball went straight through. "What the fuck?" I was hit in the head by one of the Shadows. "You're pitiful fire balls or no match for the king's army." It said in screech.

"What are you?"

"I am a Shadow Lean. We are the secret fighter of King Gazer." It screeches again. It hit me in the face causing me to fall to the ground. "UGH, you are fucking Dead!" I felt my guts burn with anger. I breathed in and shot out a line of white hot fire. It vaporized the shadow which screeched with agony.

I closed my mouth and got up. Anger I am feeling was still residing in my stomach... I felt small pulses through out my body. It felt weird. Where was all this power coming from? I felt my body slowly began to heat up. I couldn't forgive these shadows. They've killed my friends and so many dragons. I won't let them get away with it. All the shadows that were around me saw what was happening and bolted towards me. They covered every inch of my now glowing body. I roared as a burst of energy left my body. It caused the shadow to vaporize. My horns on my head grow to there full lengths. A tail sprouted from my tailbone as it grew. My teeth grew longer more deadly. My sapphire blues scales that covered my chest spread over my body. I was becoming more draconic.

I looked up to the shadows that were floating. I leaped up towards them shooting a line of fire at the shadow. I moved all over the valley at light speed. Vaporizing every little shadow that had came into the territory. It was over. All the shadows have been destroyed. I flew off. I don't know what was becoming of me. But I felt myself start to lose myself to sleep. I felt myself fall into the woods below.

Knocking me out cold.
