#5 of Singularity

Carbon scratches his itch, finding more in a friend than he expected.

This chapter's a tad delayed, so apologies to those following only the Singularity series. My other Entropy series took my attention for two (quite long) chapters in a row. That said, I've not given up on this fun series out of favor. I actually love my little origin story for Carbon to death! ;3

I had the option of continuing this chapter further than I decided to split it, but I made an editorial choice. The events of the coming chapter as they're brewing in my head would be better suited in a single chapter, thus I ended this one appropriately. Still, there's a lot of character and relationship building in this iteration so I'm quite happy with it. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!

The sun started breaking to pieces behind a backdrop of jungle trees as Carbon's Chinook set down for the last time of the day. The otter didn't even wait for the rotors to disengage as he reached for the front right door, popping up the window hatch and then kicking down the stairs. He quickly shuffled away from the craft in the direction of his sterile tent, a paw pinned to his stomach.

Before Carbon could even clear the landing tarmac a paw clasped his shoulder and forced him to slow down. "Not now, sold--"

"It's me, mate." the otter gave in and turned around, finding the familiar accent matching Adrian's kind face. "What's the matter? You look off, little buddy."

Carbon lowered his arms to his sides and tried to look a bit less conspicuous. "Sorry... I just want to get to my tent... so I, uh..."

"It's back? Damn that's a desperate heat, yeah?"

"Carbon, you need to clean up if you're going back." Evelyn walked up behind Adrian and hung over his shoulder. "The crappy air system we've got out here can't handle all that dirt."

"Really? Shoot." Carbon found the burning in his belly a bit too strong to dilly-dally any further, tugging the husky by the wrist to follow him. "Come on. I need to take a shower and I'll need you to watch for others."

"Watch...? Oh, right. Don't need any of 'em finding out you're a bird." Adri found the showers and tugged back to correct their course. "This way, Carbon. That's them over by the toilets."

Carbon checked about until he spotted the basic plywood stalls in the open. "Wait, that's the showers? I thought there'd be more privacy. How the hell is this going to work?"

"Hey, I thought you had a plan when you asked me."

Evelyn fizzled into view by the stalls well before they approached, yet her voice remained perfectly clear in Carbon's head. "You'll never keep the rest of the base out, especially your team now that they're back for the day. Maybe some redirection is in order?"

"Redirection..." The Major looked over to his friend and spied the caked-on mud all about his fur. "You need a shower too..."

"Wait... No, lad. That's not right, not when you're a lady." Adrian hurried ahead to avoid having to look Carbon in the eyes. "What we did earlier was one thing, but you really should keep your body hidden for someone you love."

"Adrian... What does it matter? I'm a guy, right? I won't even have this body once my heat's over." The otter sped up as well, overtaking the husky to confront him. "What's the problem with that? If anything it's better that I ~don't~ have guy parts right now if you're gay. Right?"

Adrian stopped outside one of the stalls and grabbed Carbon by his shoulders. "But you're not a guy, not right now. We don't know you'll even turn back, do we?"

"But..." Carbon read the concern in his friend's eyes. He was right. Carbon didn't have any assurances that he'd ever be exactly the way he--no, she--was before. "Eve, how sure are you?"

The flower girl reappeared inside the stall, peeking over the plywood. "Well... I know what needs to be done, but I haven't had any practice except the first time. I was really familiar with your previous form but this new one--"

"So you're not." Carbon sighed as her plans suddenly got more complicated. She looked about for onlookers and slid into the booth when she found none. "I ~am~ a woman. But even still, I'd appreciate your help. If there's anyone I'm comfortable showing myself to it's you, Adri."

"You sure? I bet Johnny's more comfortable with you like that."

"And he'd also freak out too much to keep things quiet. Besides, I know he can't touch me when I'm behind glass." Carbon offered a paw over the top of the stall, having to press up on his toes a bit to comfortably do so. "Come on. I think it'll work if I duck a bit."

Adrian huffed out a deep sigh as he relented, heading to the side of the stall to grab some rudimentary towels. "Alright, alright. You win, lad."

"Hey, ~you~ said I'm a girl now. At least act like you mean it."

"Right." The husky returned, draping the towels over the door before shuffling inside. "Well let's get at it, ~lass~."

"Just... don't laugh or anything. I'm not comfortable with my new body yet."

Evelyn dissolved and then reconstructed outside the booth to reduce the chances of her illusion breaking in the cramped space. "Hey, I think I did a good job. It was based on your imagination, anyway."

"Really? How's that work?" Carbon unbuttoned his shirt and let it fall to the ground, his bandage-bound chest now coming into view. "If I think of something you can make me into it?"

Adrian gave out a chuckle as he removed his own shirt, pausing to correct himself. "Sorry. It was Evelyn, not you. Still not used to the way you talk to her."

"Hey, eyes up." Evelyn snapped her fingers a few times, Carbon's eyes locked to Adrian's bare chest no doubt in part due to her heat. "To answer your question, no. It's more like I can read your hopes, your desires. Then I can craft a plan from the gist of that. Benefits of sharing a brain I guess." Eve found her own eyes settling on the husky's chest and even lower as he fiddled with his belt. "Maybe some downsides, too. But damn, he is a fine specimen isn't he?"

"Eve!" Carbon's cheeks flushed cyan in embarrassment and she focused on removing her own pants, working the baggy garment down her curved hips without needing to remove the belt. "I just, uh... wish we had a better way of talking to each other."

"Aye. You'll find a way, I'm sure. You're still... Oh, right." Adrian dropped his freed pants to his ankles and stepped out of them, kicking them to the side afterward. "Sorry if I mark you as young, Carbon. It's hard to see you as more than a little girl when you look like one. Just hard to shake it, yeah?"

"Nah, it's alright. I'm a foot shorter than you and I look young. The kid thing isn't nice but I deal with it." Carbon groaned, diverting his mild annoyance by starting to unravel his chest wrappings. "But no, we haven't come up with a system yet. Then again, Eve's been holding secrets this long too..."

"Not fair." The phantasmal girl threw up her hands and paced outside the stall, making sure her frantic feet were noticed by her host. "You just never asked the right questions. I never held secrets."

"Sorry. I'm just venting." Carbon let out a slow breath of air as the bandages came off, allowing him to breathe easier. He ran his paws up his chest and cupped both his breasts, still uneasy handling them himself. "These aren't strange, are they? I mean, they aren't misshaped or anything, right?"

"Nah. They're normal, lass." Adrian paused to chuckle to himself, apparently feeling a lot more comfortable now that Carbon exposed herself first. He hooked his thumbs into his boxers and slid them down his legs. "Actually above average I think, if my sisters are to be believed."

"Really? You've probably seen more than I have even if you're gay. Guess I'll believe you on that one." The otter pulled down her own undies and knelt to grab her clothes, pausing as she looked up and came face to face with her first sheathe. "Woah. Is that how you're supposed to..."

Adri looked down and then had to force himself not to turn around in embarrassment. "Right, guess you've never heard about canines before. It's a sheathe, and it just hides my bits until I need to use them. No worries there."

Carbon picked up both sets of clothing and stood up, placing them on a shelf near the door. "Oh. That sort of makes sense. Seems like a delicate area so I'd--"

Eve grumbled and phased a hand through the door so Carbon could see her point to one side. "Incoming."

The glowing hybrid hopped up on his tippy-toes to check and then crouched down. "Oh crap! Uh, Adri? Act cool."

Adrian looked down quizzically and then checked behind him, spying Gary walking right over. "Oh, Uh... Hey mate. Had the same idea, I see."

"You try to sleep with dirt and oil in your fur before? Of course I'm rinsing off." The elk clopped into another booth and cranked on the water while fully clothed. "Adri? You just standing there or you actually gonna take a shower?"

"Oh, yeah. Just not used to these exposed baths." Adrian squeaked open the water valve and flinched at the unexpected warm temperature of the water. "Oi, that's actually pretty nice."

"Yeah. Feels good, man." Gary let himself get drenched before removing his shirt, his logic now seeming quite sound when he threw his now-clean top over the border of his stall and the next. "So how'd the kid hold up? He seemed to have his shit down better than anyone expected."

"The uh, the Major? Yeah, he was great." The husky grumbled up a cough when their subject of conversation bumped into his groin. "She actually, uh... sort of saved my ass today. Saw a few bullets coming for me. She's a natural."

"She? Oh..." The elk took a moment to run his head under the water, cleaning his antlers of caked mud. "I guess that's right for the time being. That kid's ~definitely~ a chick now. A hot one, too. I'd probably screw her if I didn't know she used to be a guy."

"Hey, mate... That's a bit too.." Adrian shut his muzzle and went wide-eyed as Carbon's curious paws caressed his sheathe. "The lass is ~my friend~ too, you know."

"Oh, that too far? My bad, man." Gary turned off his water and grabbed his shirt, giving his friend a curious look when he spotted the distress on his face. "Might want to focus on that shower before an engineer comes complaining about the water. Later, Adri."

"Y-Yeah, later." Adrian waited for Gary to grab a towel and walk out of sight before lurching his head down in protest, just in time to see his semi-stiff cock slip past Carbon's lips. "Oh damn... Wait, no. Carbon, this is your heat acting, not you."

The otter pulled his head back and settled for pawing off his friend instead. "So what? I just wanted to do this so badly, and it's not hurting anyone."

"But I don't want to do anything either of us would regret later." Adrian reached down and cradled Carbon's head before he could resume his oral teasing. "Blimey. You've got it bad, huh? This is like Sissy when she wasn't dating."

Carbon tried to shake his head free to no effect. "So just help me out here and I'll be better. That's how it works, right?"

"Well not like this. Carbon, a blowjob won't fix your side of things even if it feels like it'll help." Adri pulled the otter up and shuffled behind him to keep his junk out of reach. "Look, you're obviously too randy to think straight. Only way to fix that now is to shag a fur senseless, and you're keeping this all a secret."

A much smaller Evelyn appeared sitting on the edge of the stall. "But not from him."

"But not from ~you~."

Adri hissed out a sigh of defeat. "I don't think..." Carbon turned around and pleadingly stared up into his eyes. "Alright, buddy. But I'm only agreeing to help you out and nothing more, yeah? No strings attached."

Carbon nodded in agreement, then clenched up as Adrian ruffled the fur on his back and allowed water to slip beneath his waterproofing. "Hey, not cool. I can't groom back there easily."

"Ah, sorry mate. I wasn't thinking." Adrian reached for the shower knob and cranked it closed. "It's a bit weird that you're dry and warm under there though. Don't worry, I'll dry it off once we get back to your tent."

"Aww, I thought you were going to help me first."

Adrian grinned at his friend's innocence. "I might, but for what I have planned we'll want to go to your quarters anyway." He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around Carbon, making sure to fit it tightly around his chest so his bust wasn't as noticeable. "Ready to go. I'll be right behind you with the uniforms, lass."

Carbon took a few slow steps, but picked up the pace when she spotted Adrian re-opening the shower booth door. She quickly made her way to the main path but decided to halt there rather than risk heading into the open by her lonesome with naught but a towel about her. "So... you think he's doing this because he wants to or... because he thinks he needs to...?"

Evelyn walked around from behind the otter and leaned against a lone tree, her hand gliding up and down the bark affectionately. "Interesting they left this one alive. They weren't obligated to do it. Furs don't feel a sense of remorse or pity for trees. There certainly wasn't a purpose for her to remain here." Eve gave the tree a quick kiss and stepped away, stretching her arms behind her. "My theory? Someone saw this tree and liked it. He thought it was special and just wanted to do something nice amidst the destruction. It just ~felt right~, but nothing more."

"That's way off topic, even for you." Carbon sighed as she thought more inwardly until the plant girl's true meaning started to reveal itself. "A straight answer would have been easier, silly. I think I get it though. Thanks."

"Just keeping you on your toes, Carbon."

Adrian caught up right as the Major let out a fittingly girlish giggle towards the tree. "Eve keeping you busy? I could leave you two alone if you'd like her to help instead."

"What? No." The otter spun on her heels and clung to her friend, barely remembering to clasp her towel before it came free. "I mean, uh... She's helpful and all, but I need more than--"

"I know, Carbon. It was a joke. A bad one, apparently." Adri checked about from all sides and then nudged Carbon along the path towards her tent. "Sometimes you can trick a heat and sometimes you have to give it what it wants. Just happens you're in for the latter, mate."

"Hold it. Let me check first." Carbon pulled herself forward and unzipped the door of her tent, poking her head inside for just a few seconds. "Ah, coast is clear. We've got the place to ourselves."

"Right-o. Wouldn't want anyone between us and our fun." Adrian pulled the whole door open and allowed Carbon to enter before he shut it behind them. He looked about the clean tent and rested his gaze upon Carbon's bed, a dozen lamps pointing down over it. "Need a night light do ya'?"

"Hmm? Oh, yeah." Carbon went to a clear plastic wall and unzipped its sealed door flap. She ducked through and flopped backwards on her bed, laying her breathing unit on the floor next to it. "Careful about the wall there; I can't see it for the life of me with my eyes. Oh, and we can move the lights until you leave."

"Well at least now I know why your tent's been lit up like a gas lamp all night." Adri took a moment to swivel the lamps out of the way and then sat on the side of the cot. "There, that's better. What are these even for, by the way?"

"I need a lot of daylight or I get sleepy easily." The otter stared up at Adrian as he leaned forward and closed the distance between their faces. "Johnny fought to bring these along, since they're a help until I can adapt to natural... light..."

"Shh..." Adri put a paw on the chin of Carbon's mask and allowed her a moment to take a breath before lifting it up. He moved in and gave his friend a soft kiss, holding it a few seconds before he replaced the gas mask. "Sorry. I just can't help myself when you look so cute."

Carbon adjusted her hair along the seal of the mask, taking her time so she could cool off from the rush of her first kiss. "Wow. That was... something. Something nice. ~Thrilling~."

"If you think ~that's~ thrilling..." Adri slid his paw down Carbon's neck, tickled her collar, and eased the top of her towel free to reveal her bare chest. "I'm still amazed how much you've changed in such a small span. You're brilliant."

"You're just saying that."

"Not at all. I really mean it." The whole towel was slowly unraveled, leaving Carbon exposed in her entirety. "I'm not... uh... Sorry, but I don't have much skill with women in general. Is it far too much to ask if we could go straight to the main course?"

"You mean just... uh..." Carbon gave Adrian's towel a quick yank and swallowed as it fell free. She lifted her head to get a better look and then fell limp, swallowing hard and starting to tense up after seeing Adri's hard canine manhood. "Yeah, go ahead. Just take it slow, alright? It's a bit... uh..."

"Scary? Yeah, I could see that. My last boyfriend was timid about it too." Adri pulled his towel free of his waist and tossed it near where he set down their clothes. He stood and gave Carbon some room, his paw wandering to his length idly to keep his motor going. "Lass... Another favor? Can you get on all fours? I'd like to give it my all and I'm used to taking a fur from behind."

Carbon complied, moving her breathing system to the head of the bed and then rolling onto her knees. "Does this make a difference? I mean, will it help any more? Less?"

"Nah, mate. You're thinking too much into it. It's just a canine thing; they call this 'doggy style' for a reason." The husky crawled up behind his friend and used his free paw to fumble with her nether lips. "Ah, that's it. Guess you're good if you're this wet. You ready, little buddy?"

"S-Sure. Slow, right?" Carbon leaned forward and bit her lower lip, the light fingering soon turning to a gentle prodding as Adrian lined himself up. "Adri? Seriously, be caref--FUCK!!"

"Oh, bloody--" Adrian pressed forward but ended up burying himself to the hilt, the heated folds of his friend softly inviting him more than he'd expected. "Damn, what the hell have I been missing? Carbon, mate... Carbon?"

The otter cringed silently as she became accustomed to the light sting of losing her virginity. "Ow!... That hurt, idiot!"

"Shit, my bad lass. It just... feels so wonderful." Adri held still for a moment and then slowly glided himself free of just his pointed tip. "It happens to every lady sometime, Carbon. Just tell me when you're ready and I'll continue. Nothing but time here so no frets."

"He's not trying to hurt you, you know. There's a little bit inside you called a 'hymen' and he had to break through it to have sex with you." Evelyn appeared on the ground on her back staring up. "The hardest part is over. Just relax and it will feel better. ~Much~ better."

Carbon took that advice, collapsing her arms so her rear remained high and her head rested on her pillow. "You can go ahead. I think I'm alright."

The husky collapsed forward as well, draping himself over the Major so their pelts rubbed when he sank back inside. "Mmm... I might like guys but this is pretty tempting all the same."

It only took a few choice pumps from behind before Carbon's dull pain was washed over with a stronger wave of pleasure. "Oh wow... That's actually really... nice. Can you make it any better than this?"

"I can try. Just let me know if I'm too rough."

Adrian picked up his pace, thrusting in long, firm strokes with enough force to entice a light squelching sound from Carbon's heated nethers. This in turn brought out a hint of moaning from the girl, driving her to press her rear back with awkward timing to her partner's. Eventually they both found a synchronous rhythm, Carbon no longer afraid to let her pleasure be known. She gave a pawful of hard grinds back onto Adrian's length, with her huffed shouts growing in volume as well until one particularly pressured hilting broke her rhythm.

"Ah! Whuh... Wait..." Adrian groaned as he slowed his pace, allowing Carbon to duck her head beneath her and inspect their juncture. "What's that...? Hey, why's your penis getting bigger?"

"I'm getting close..." Adri pressed forward a bit rougher than before, shoving his inflating knot in and out with loud plops and squelches. "I'd normally... keep it inside but... you're in heat..."

Evelyn pulled Carbon's chin to look at her and stressed the importance of her words. "You need him to finish ~inside~ you for your heat to calm down. I can keep you from getting pregnant, from having a child. You need to choose now though."

"I don't think... I'm ready for that. Do what you can." Carbon reached an arm back and pulled on Adrian's leg, urging him to keep hammering inside her. "It's safe, Adri. Just do it."

Adrian growled at the go-ahead, driving his cock as far into Carbon as he could manage. He bit down lightly on the scruff of Carbon's neck as he jackhammered his hips as fast as he could manage. In mere seconds Adri couldn't move even an inch as his knot locked the two tight, sending him over the edge from the extreme pressure of Carbon's vice of a pussy.

With an even louder, deeper growl bellowing from his chest, the husky rushed over his peak triumphantly. He sprayed a generous coating of cum directly into Carbon's womb until the whole of her pussy sloshed with his essence. This same action drove Carbon insane with lust, on the one paw her heat finally satisfied and on the other her own orgasm spontaneously triggering in tandem with his glow shifting to a deep electric indigo hue.

"Oh sh-shit!" Carbon lifted her head as her scruff was yanked back, a loud squeak slipping free so loud the whole camp likely heard. Her partner calmed down he released his bite, causing Carbon to unexpectedly reach up and hold his mask in place when a chewed strap popped free. "Th-That was... Ah, crap... That was amazing!"

Adrian barely caught his breath enough to answer the otter hybrid between sweaty, hot puffs of air. "Bloody... right..."

Carbon tried to collapse flat and yipped when the knot held him fast. "Ouch! Hey, what the hell?"

"I've got it... Just relax..." Adri looped a strong arm beneath Carbon and lifted her weight, spilling to the side so they both spooned on the cot. "There we are. Tying can be a bitch sometimes."

"Is that what that's called?" Carbon shifted a bit to wedge into the husky a bit more comfortably. "How long are we going to...?"

"I tend to stay excited a while, mate. Half an hour, perhaps." Adri pulled his friend in for a quick hug, nuzzling into her hair tenderly. "The real question's if that did the trick. I've heard you could tell right away, but it usually took a day for my sisters."

Carbon thought she could tell already from the afterglow, but Evelin picked herself off the floor to lay floating ahead of Carbon. "Not sure myself, Carbon. All I can do is read your chemical levels and that'll take a little while. I did have to adjust hormones a bit more than I thought to prevent conception though, so looks promising."

"I can't be sure yet, but Eve thinks we did it." Carbon wrapped her tail between the pair's legs and clamped around it like a pillow. "If not, would you be... um... willing to do this again?"

"If that's what needs doing, maybe. I just don't want you getting shot because your heads in the wrong place, lass." Adrian finally spotted the damage he'd done and re-secured the pulled strap, noticing as he did so the darker green of the skin beneath the otter's parted neck fur. "Oi, Carbon? Can you tell me why your skin's this color? I thought it was just your nose and all."

Eve shook her head with pout to her face. "He's changing the subject."

"Well I'm happy for now so who cares?" Carbon grumbled as she realized Adrian heard that loud and clear. "Sorry, Eve again. Speaking of... What should I tell him?"

"I'll leave that up to you. You're an adult now, after all." Evelin sighed and rolled over, not wanting to look Carbon in the face as she gave some advice. "You like him though, right?"

"N-No I don--"

"You can't hide that, Carbon. I never thought I'd get to feel love, and here you go falling for someone that's not even looking your way." Eve slowly sank back to the floor and out of sight. "So if I were you I'd take it easy on the news. Better chance of keeping him around if you don't scare him away."

Carbon frowned as those words sank in deeper than she liked. "Okay... The green skin... The glowing..." She looked back and held Adrian's paw. "I'm different than most furs. I'm a sort of hybrid... eh..."

"So you're a splice too? I thought only our parents' generation were splices. Didn't know they still had to do that after everyone adapted to the radiation." Adri grinned as his mind went off on his own tangent. "So what else is in you? Some kind of exotic cave frog? I mean, there's only so much that glows--"

"I'm not a splice, Adrian." That grip on the husky's paw tightened as Carbon spoke up. "My father was... well to put it simply, a plant. It's why I need sunlight. It's why I'm green."

"A plant? Right, and my mother's an octopus."

Carbon squeezed down hard and resumed her frown. "I'm serious. Where do you think Eve comes from? She's not a... a bit of my imagination. She's a biological part of that side of me. The Yangurran part of me has all sorts of extraordinary bits."

"Yangurran...?"

Eve waved an arm up warningly. "You're losing him. I warned you, Carbon."

"Just...!" The hybrid forced herself to take a deep breath and exhale it slowly in an attempt to calm down. "Forget it. It's just too much for now, plus I don't know nearly as much about it as Evelyn. Can we--?"

Adrian pushed forward and gave Carbon a kiss right behind her ear. "It's alright. I don't care what's different about you or what your family is like. I just know I like having you as a friend, Carbon."

"Huh." The plant girl's arm drooped back below the lip of the bed. "That's better than I expected of him."

"So... Um..." Carbon lifted her arms as Adrian's slid around her chest to snuggle, the otter wrapping her own around his and forgetting her worries. "Adrian... I like you too. If you ever want to know more, I'll clue you in when that time comes. For now though..."

"We're both exhausted, I know." The husky nuzzled into Carbon's hair, his warm breath basking between them to only add to their combined warmth. "Good night, lass."

Carbon smiled, checked her air gauge was satisfactory, and then shut her eyes. "Good night, handsome."
