Times of Old is a brand new story series that I am starting, and this is the prologue of the protagonist, Sylina McArthur, and her humble beginnings. The story is of a fantasy/medieval time, and is filled with magic, mythical creatures, and more! I hope you guys enjoy this little beginning of it!?

Sylina McArthur sighed as she stared at her journal, inkwell and quill nearby. The young dragoness had decided to spend some of her hard earned money to get herself a journal, it being hard to afford one as a tavern girl. A torch above the desk she sat lit up the room, it appearing quite gloomy. Her walls were made of cobblestone, her floor a bit smoother stone. In a far corner was her dresser, another was her single bed. Next to the bed was her desk, where she sat and in another corner was a chamber pot, which was where she took care of her bathroom needs.

Sylina was an eighteen year-old dragoness with smooth black scales and long red hair. Her eyes were a bright violet, her sharp features and pointed muzzle making her look ferocious. A light blue night gown hugged her figure, showing off her large bosom and rump. Being a hermaphrodite, the cool wooden chair pressed against her hefty ball sac and feminine slit that laid beneath it. "Stupid life..." she mumbled to herself, deciding to write a bit about her life in the journal. She dipped the tip of the quill into the ink well before she began to write her story.

'I remember my first memory, my mother. She was one of the sweetest people I knew...I miss her. When I lived in Ivansbourgou, I was a very young hatchling. I remember how small our house was as well: small wooden hut with only one room, which held our beds and the one chamber pot. My father, a muscled-dragon that probably looked perfect to any girl, was very hard working. He would be out in the fields, for he was a farmer, while my mother took care of me and would sell crops at the local market. I knew, I even went with my mother to the market to sell!

_ We were poor-obviously. But I didn't care about how much money we had, I only wanted my mother and father at the time. Unlike most parents, when they found out I was a hermaphrodite, they accepted me no matter what. I always wanted to be like my dad, with his sweet personality, but would become hostile when times were called for it. He was practically my role model. But, of course, these were happy times before Ivansbourgou came to an end._

_ One night, our small village was raided by bandits. At least, I think they were bandits-all I knew at the time was they were bad men. But they raided and burned the village to the ground. My home was the first target, it seemed, since there was no fire or screaming before they attacked us. We were all asleep, which they took the opportunity to stab my mother in her sleep. My father, on the other hand, seemed to have managed to grab a man's knife and kill him instantly. When I heard the blood-gurgled cry of my mother, I instantly woke up, staring in terror as my father defended himself. There were only two men though, which my father had killed one of them. The one who killed my mother leaped at my father. They wrestled on the ground, knives in hand. After what seemed like an eternity, my father stabbed the other man in the throat. When my father rose from the ground, he had gashes and dirt on his face, which looked natural on a dragon, oddly._

_ He looked over to my mother with a sad expression-but of course, I had no idea what just happened. "D-daddy..?" I had mumbled in my young, scared voice. I remembered my father, then, picked me up and carried me outside. By this time, the village was filled with fires and screams, proving that there was more than two that were attacking. Silently, my father ran towards a side road that ran along the side of the village, my arms wrapped tightly against his powerful neck as my immature body clung to him, scared for my life. My father made sure that I didn't look around, only into his scaly shoulders. At the time, I didn't understand, but now I know he didn't want me to see all the friends I've made, and the family's friends, be cut down and murdered in front of me._

_ Soon, my father slowed down at the stables, where many of the stalls were abandoned but one. Much of what happened next was a blur to me, but much of it was detailed. My father placed me on the one horse in the stables, which it was a bit weird to sit on such a large saddle. My father led the horse out of it's stall, and I had assumed he would sit behind me and we would ride off before a bandit came behind my father. Unaware, he was stabbed in the back. My father only had time to slap the horse, making him whine and dash off with his screaming daughter. "Daddy! Daddy!" was all I could cry as I clung to the horse's neck, tears filling my eyes as I saw my father crumple to his knees and fall over, the bandit's scared face staring at me as I rode into the night.'_

Sylina's quill would stop as tears rode down her face, crying out as drops fell upon the new written page. It had been so long since she had even thought of that horrible night. All the emotion built up inside of her, a large pain in her chest as she shivered and whimpered in the chair. It took quite a bit of time for the dragoness to compose herself, sighing as she dried her eyes and scaly face of her tears. She missed her parents, she always loved it when her mother would hold her against her motherly bosom or her father held her hand as he showed her the fields he worked in.

The dragoness would get up from the chair and pace around the room a bit, her long tail dragging behind her. Sylina needed to calm herself down a bit before she could continue writing. It would be a few more minutes before Sylina sat down once more in the chair and took up her quill, continuing her tale.

'That night's ride was long and terrifying; I had no idea where the horse was running to nor when it would stop. It did eventually stop though, but by the time it did, it was morning. By then, I was bound to fall asleep, which I did as the horse began to trot. I don't remember much, but I did wake up about mid-afternoon when men in shining armor approached me on horseback. At first, I was scared of them, thinking they were going to kill me. I would scream every time one's arms reached out for me, which seemed to work as he drew his arms back. But eventually, the gripped my waist and pulled me off, with me kicking and screaming as fear filled my body. "Don't worry child, no harm will be done to you," a gentle, feminine voice said as someone approached me on horseback, but it was a female tigeress. I don't know what it was: Her beauty, her voice, or how she seemed so calm, but it calmed me down. Of course, I stared, with heat in my cheeks. I guess you could say she was my first crush, haha!

_ This woman, whose name I would learn later to be Zuki, ran a tavern in a nearby town. The men that were with her were knights of the emperor that offered to escort Zuki to her home, but they found me on the horse along the way. Zuki would have the knight that held me sit me upon her lap before they began riding once more. I remembered specifically that when I laid back upon her stomach, I could feel her breasts rest and bounce upon my head with each of the horse's steps. I fell asleep once more; it felt much more comfortable against someone then the itchy neck of a horse. However, when Zuki waked me, I wasn't prepared for the town._

_ Since I grew up in a village no more than five to ten buildings, it surprised me when there were huge buildings, lined with streets of cobblestone and many people either riding in carriages or walking. I had never seen so many people in my young life, it scared me a bit, enough for Miss Zuki to notice. She would ride up to a particularly large building, made of wood but at least three or four stories high. It looked rather homely, simple but exquisite at the same time. This was Miss Zuki's tavern, and it would be my home for a short period of time._

_ I would stay her for about a month, I think. Miss Zuki didn't exactly adopt me, but was taking care of me until she could send me with people that could help. But while I was there, I met so many new people of varying personality and species-it was a worldly experience. Miss Zuki loved it when she saw me talking and making people smile, but always kept me in my room at night, telling me weird people always came to the tavern during the night. It didn't matter to me though, I loved life there. But it did take Miss Zuki a bit to let her know why I was on that horse that night. I did tell her one night when she came to visit me before bedtime, and she seemed horribly sad. She told me her sister lived there and began to cry. Of course, I crawled over to her and hugged her tightly. I remember that night well, both of us crying softly as we held each other. She would lay back with me on top of her, both of us falling asleep. To this day, I find that night as intimate as I will ever get with someone, Miss Zuki became my new mother then, and I still think of her as that today._

_ A month passed before a couple of knights came to me and Miss Zuki. She told me they were taking me to an orphanage, where I can be with other children. I began to cry immediately, clinging to Miss Zuki, whimpering the word "Momma." This made her cry, even pecked me on the cheek. "Sweetie...I know how you must feel...but we will see each other again, I promise. When you're old enough, I'll be here, waiting for my little dragon," she had cooed lightly into my ear. With those last words embedded in my head, the knights took me to St. Catherine's Orphanage._

_ The orphanage was located in a large city, which I would learn later to be the capital of the kingdom I was a citizen of. But I didn't know that at the time, I only knew the city scared me with all the tall buildings and the huge mass of people. The orphanage was pretty big, housing what seemed like hundreds of children. I spent eight years here: making friends, being made fun off by bullies, hiding my true gender from everyone, even the head mistress of the orphanage. I remember when I developed as a woman: growing breasts, jutting erection that needed attention-it was hell. I eventually learned how to sedate my own needs though, and life was a bit easier there. I was nine when I came to the orphanage, and I was able to finally live at the age of seventeen, since nobody had adopted me. Finally, it was time to make my way to my home-Miss Zuki._

_ When I managed to scrape up enough coin to be driven to Verion, where Miss Zuki lived, I made immediate haste to her. When I saw her again, she had become much older, but I still found her the most beautiful woman ever. The older tigress had grown into a motherly figure with wide hips, a bit of fat upon her belly and arms, large swaying breasts, and a fine ass. She was so happy to see me again, and even spent the night with me, holding me as she did that one night from years ago. She offered me a job here at her tavern, which I gladly accepted. This is my life now: a dragon that has worked for Miss Zuki for about a year now, making decent pay, etc. I quite enjoy it here, especially when Miss Zuki calls me her little dragon, like she use to...which usually coaxes me to call her momma sometimes. I couldn't be happier now.' _

Sylina would smile to herself as she read over her journal once before closing it, giggling to herself softly as she popped a few bones in her cramped hand. Standing, she would let out a loud yawn as she slowly made her way to her bed. Sylina's pointed ears would cock a bit, able to hear Miss Zuki lightly snore in the room next to her, which made the dragoness smile. She would slowly slip into her bed, and under the covers. It wasn't long before the dragoness fell asleep, her light snores soon joining with Zuki's.
