#2 of Blake's Daily Life

The Second chapter of Blake's Daily Life. Please enjoy.

After the opening ceremony for Yuki High School was over, classes were getting under way. Of course, our main focus is on Blake's class. Blake, Max, and Jaden wound up in the same homeroom class, just like their days in middle school.

Well, class hasn't officially started yet, and the teacher in charge has yet to arrive either, so for right now, the students are getting acquainted.

As their classmates get to know each other, Blake and his friends sat together in their desk, talking as well. The three in the middle row of the classroom.

"Man, can you believe we're in the same class, again?" Jaden exclaimed, sitting in a desk in front of Blake.

"We're inseparable, the three of us." Max said, sitting in a desk right to Blake and Jaden. He actually had a smile on his face, when he normally isn't the sort to smile.

The three sat mid section in the rows of desk in their classroom.

"Why do you two seem so happy about that?" Blake asked.

"Dude, we've been together since middle school. How can you not feel anything? Aren't you excited!" Jaden asked his husky friend.

"We've known each other for two years before coming here." said Max, "There's no way that's gonna change."

"Actually, I am excited, but I'm anxious too. Like, what if I screw up and the first impression from the teachers are permanent?" Blake exclaimed.

"Don't worry." Jaden replied to Blake's worry, "Now that we're in high school, good stuff is bound to happen."

"Good stuff, huh..." Blake turned to side, but just as he did, he saw a familiar face. It's the same rabbit with a pale yellow coat of fur, from before. Well, it may have been the first time they met, but there's no way he'd forget someone as painfully shy as this rabbit. Plus that small frame, shoulder length hair, soft effeminate face, and large brown eyes, make it easy to mistake him for a girl. Thankfully, Blake is smart enough to tell the difference.

He sat in the back row in corner to the right, and there he was silent, and alone, while everyone else was holding conversations around him. And also very nervous like. If he weren't a boy, Blake would almost think it's cute how shy and timid the rabbit is.

"Hey, Blake, have your sights set on that girl over there?" Jaden asked with a wide grin. He noticed how Blake was looking at that rabbit sitting in the back.

"N-No! I'm not." Blake quickly stated, "Anyway, that's not really a girl. It's a boy."

"What? I seriously thought that was a girl." Jaden looks towards the rabbits, and examines his androgynous figure. "No matter how you look at it, the dude seriously looks like a lady."

"So, do you have an interest in femboys now Blake?" Max asked his embarrassed husky friend.

"No!" Blake barked, "I just bump into him this morning when we arrive at school!" Blake explained, before pausing a bit, "No, wait, more like he bump into me by accident." thinking about it now, Blake doesn't even know who the rabbit is, let alone his name.

"Okay, that's all well and good, but why is he just sitting there in the back row? With his looks, I bet he get a couple of guys who like that sort of thing in a harem, right?" Jaden said, half jokingly.

"Don't even joke like that." Blake reproached his friend, "Besides, I doubt he'd be able to talk to anyone. When I talked with him earlier, he had a hard time talking to me and apologized all over for bumping into me."

"The shy type, huh? That's pretty rare for a guy." Max deduced.

"But, maybe that's one of his charm points." said Jaden, "I mean, just look at him. Even I feel like I wanna pounce on him." he joked once more.

"Go get your head examined." Blake and Max said to Jaden in unison.

Meanwhile, the shy rabbit was wondering what that husky and friends were talking about. Obviously, the topic must be about him. That made him feel uneasy. He disliked being the center of attention. He looked at his other new classmates and watched them as they engage in what little time they have to talk before class actually starts.

"So, this is high school..." he thought, as he noticed how everyone seems to have not noticed him. It didn't come as a surprise to him. After all, he hasn't even tried talking to anyone else yet. "It's not really any different from middle school. But, I'm here too. I'm in high school, too. Just like the rest of them. Things are going to change. At least, I hope."

(-Earlier before the rabbit's arrival to school-)

Some blocks away from where Blake just met up with his friends, the rabbit about get on his way to the same school as Blake and his friends. While we're on the subject of this rabbit, his name is Dell McCain.

Just before he going to leave for school, he briefly talks with his father, who has a more masculine appearance befitting his gender. He had the same color fur as his son, and he wore business suit, and glasses.

"Dell, are you alright?" the young rabbit's father asked.

"Yeah... I-I'm... fine..." Dell, in a really soft voice, mumbled shyly, "I'm just... a little nervous..." really nervous more like.

"Okay. I'm still worried, though. If you're having trouble, I'm here. Just remember that." Dell's father said, although, he felt it would be an unfulfilling promise, since he's always at work, and not with his son. His wife had always been with Dell the most, and he's tried his best as well. Sadly, those efforts seem to be in vain, looking at Dell now.

"I'll be fine, dad. I've... really looked forward to going to high school. Things will change, I'm sure." Dell weakly smiled, "I-I'm off now. I'm sure neither of us wanna be late."

"Right. See you after school, Dell." Dell's father said, patting his son's head and left for work, while Dell heads to his school.

The rabbit walked, depressed like. True, Dell was looking forward to going to a new school, but he was also terrified. Before coming here, he was always the object of harassment and bullying, and has been alone, especially now that his mother passed away two years ago before now. Dell and his father moved to this town to get a fresh new start. He hoped he'd make friends at his new school, but lack of self confidence is a harsh mistress.

"Mom... help me..." the shy rabbit muttered in a soft voice, as he advanced forward.

(-Present Time-)

Thinking about it now, Dell started wondering if he could really fit in here.

Well, he did talk to a husky earlier. He seemed nice enough for a stranger, at least. Just as he started thinking about him, he finally noticed that same husky looking his way. Dell froze up for a moment, and tries his best to avoid eye contact with him.

Blake saw this, and felt a little put off. But still, Blake knew it wasn't his fault. It's just that he's so shy.

The teacher finally arrives, enters the classroom. At the same time, the bell finally rings.

"Alright, everybody, time to take your seats." said the teacher, who is a tall and somewhat muscular brown bear, wearing a simple white short sleeve dress shirt, and black khakis. This is Mr. Thomas, one of the younger teachers by 27 years, and teaches social studies.

"Sorry for being let. I'm not a morning person. I'm Mr. Thomas, your homeroom teacher starting this year. Let's get along."

"He's a social studies teacher?" one student whispered.

"He looks like he should be a gym teacher." another student whispered.

"I'm sure some of you must be thinking "he looks more like a gym teacher" or something along those lines." said Mr. Thomas, "Well, I'll tell you this, I used to be a football player before deciding to take my studies more seriously, other than to focus on sports and become a brain dead jock."

Some of the students started laughing in response.

"I think I like this guy already." said Jaden.

"Shush!" Blake hushed Jaden.

"Okay, I've introduced myself, and shared some of my history. Now it's your time. Starting from the right of the front row, please stand up and introduce yourself, and tell us a little about yourself."

The students begin introducing themselves, standing up one after another, and sharing their names and interests.

Jaden's turn eventually came up. The fox enthusiastically stood up, and states his name, "I'm Jaden Spikes. As you can see from just looking at me, I've got plenty of energy to spare! Let's enjoy the youthful spirit we until we graduate!"

The class starts laughing again. That was so clichéd it was kind of funny.

Joining in, albeit quietly, Dell chuckled at the fox's quirky attitude. "Jaden, huh? He's lucky. I wish I could speak my mind like he can." Dell thought.

"Oh and to save them the trouble, I'll introduce my friends too." Jaden continued, "The husky sitting behind me is Blake Simmons. He's a nice guy, but he has a tendency to overreact to little details."

"Hey, I do not!" Blake stood up, clearly annoyed by Jaden's comment.

"Case rested." Jaden smirked.

"HEY!" Blake barked again.

"And the lion with the glasses sitting next to me is Max King. By King, I mean King of the Geniuses!"

"Nice meetin' ya. I'm Max." Max said stoically.

"Dude..." Blake muttered.

"Well, I think we know who our class troublemakers are, don't we?" joked Mr. Thomas.

"I'm not a troublemaker! Please, don't say it so casually!" Blake begged his teacher, and then turned his attention to Jaden, "You! This is all your fault!" Blake yelled in anger.

"Why? I didn't do anything wrong." Jaden played innocent.

All the while, the classroom was still full of laughter.

"Okay, I think we've had enough giggles for a while. Let's continue." Mr. Thomas said, and introduction went back under way.

Seconds after Blake and Jaden sat back down, Dell stared at Blake. "So, that's his name. Blake." Dell whispered, before retreating back into his thoughts, "He does seem nice. But, maybe he did overreact just a little." the rabbit quietly chuckled a little, remembering same reaction, "Then again, that was pretty funny. Blake Simmons. Maybe, talking with him again should be fun. I hope we get along." a small smile began to unearth itself on Dell's face.

"Hey, it's your turn." said a classmate he sat in front of the now nervous rabbit.

"Huh?" he took a quick look around and saw all eyes on him, waiting for his introduction. Some students most already introduced themselves. Now, it's Dell's turn. "O-Oh yes!" Dell stood up erratically , causing his chair to fall to the floor. Upon hearing the loud noise coming from the chair, he jump a bit before picking it back up and sat back in place, "I-I'm sorry..." he apologized as he fixed his seat.

A few chuckles could be heard as some people thought it was kind of funny, while other found it hard to laugh, because now he's just standing there, trying to find the right words to say, or is just too nervous to anything.

Everyone waits quietly for Dell to say something. He could feel all eyes on him.

After a few seconds of contemplating what to say, words finally started to pour out of the rabbit's mouth, "M-My... name is Dell... Dell McCain... I-I hope we get along..." he muttered, before sitting back down in his seat, and remained silent.

"W-Wow. Done already?" Mr. Thomas asked. Taking one look at Dell, he, like anyone else, could figure out what personality Dell has, but decided not to bother him about it. For now, maybe some close observation of Dell is in order, to see if he can actually make friends or not. He figured there would probably be a couple of withdrawn students this year.

After the last row of students introduced themselves, Mr. Thomas starts class off with a quick lecture about social interactions and the importance in what studying has on society. Several of the students listen to the lecture.

(-After first and second period: now comes third period, Gym Class-)

After the first two periods were over, Blake and friends went the gym for their next class, which obviously is PE. The students of this class were out on the field. Here their gym teacher introduces himself.

"Alright, ladies & gentlemen!" said the gym teacher, who is a large and heavily muscular tiger wearing a tracksuit, "I'm your PE and gym teacher, Mr. Russell!" Mr. Russell introduced himself boldly, "Now, from what I can see from the lot of you, you have plenty of energy to burn! That's why you're in the class, to burn that excess energy, and get physical!" the tiger boasted, leaving his students stunned. They could tell that Russell has more energy than any high school student.

"Hey, do you think this dude's got steroids in his system?" Jaden asked Max.

"Hell if I know. It's evidently clear he lot a more energy than anyone else here." Max whispered, stating the obvious.

"Anyone could tell that much on their own." Blake whispered, "Look at that guy's muscles. Can anyone actually get muscle like that?"

"One way to find out is to journey into the world of muscle training." Max answered.

"A journey, huh...?" Blake gave wry smile.

Meanwhile, Dell, who was also in PE this period, had more dread than the rest of his classmates. Quite obviously, Dell isn't very good at sports or other physical activities.

"Alright!" Mr. Russell yelled, "Since this is the first day, we're gonna start with a quick endurance run around this here field. I wanna see how physically fit you all are. One important thing, though, it you having trouble keeping up or breathing, remember to pace yourself when the need arises." Russell explains, "Now, DROP THOSE BACKPACKS, AND BEGIN THE RUN OF ENDURANCE!! CHARGE!!!" the tiger roared, loading enough for the gym to shake.

That's pretty the start bell for everyone in the gym to start set down the backpack and begin running around the gym. Mister Russell watches with enthusiasm about how his students will fair.

"Is it just me, or this gym teacher a little too ecstatic about his class?" Blake wondered as he ran along with his classmates.

"He's not the only one." Max said, running next to Blake. He pointed his finger, aiming it at Jaden, who was evidently blazing through this endurance run. The fox was dashing past very of his classmates like a blur, to the surprise of those left in the dust and those around him

"WOOOO! EAT MY DUST!!!" he yelled out as he ran.

"Well, at least we know who has the excess energy." Blake smiled wryly, watching his fox friend blaze his way around the gym.

"What're you talking about? He's always had that energy." said Max.

"Yeah, you're right." agreed Blake.

Meanwhile, Russell observed Jaden, and was impressed. But, as he is now, he's wasting much of his energy. He also spotted some nicely fit students running at about same speed, or close to it. There is potential in the class. But, there's seems to be someone who isn't much of a team player. Not in the sense of laziness, but more out of place. He saw Dell, jogging tiredly. He could that Dell was trying his hardest to keep up, but he ran out of breath quick, and is too slow.

Dell stops and drops to all fours, panting heavily. While the others passed him by.

"You!" said Russell's voice. Dell jumped at the sound of the gym teacher's booming voice, and snapped his head back to see the large tiger standing behind him, with an intense stare in his eyes. Dell felt intimidated by the tiger's seemingly murderous stare. "What's your name?"

"D-D-Dell. Dell McCain, sir..." Dell stuttered. He hoped the teacher wasn't angry with him for not trying as hard as the rest.

"Dell, is it? From the look of you, I'd say you tucker out pretty fast, don't you?"

"Y-Yes, sir..." Dell meekly answered, "A-As you can see, I'm not physically fit like everyone else here. In fact, I'm pretty bad at sports, too. I think might fail this class."

"Then why bother coming here if you know you're going to fail?" Mr. Russell asked, grabbing Dell's hood, and hoisting him high in the air.

"Ah! N-No! Please, put me down!" the scared rabbit pleaded. He's starting to believe his fears of making the teacher angry are coming true. Now he's going to harass Dell, like his previous gym teacher. Or so Dell thought.

"In this class, everyone gets big and strong. It'll be the same with you eventually. I'll make sure of that!" Mr. Russell said with a stern tone.

Dell looked surprised. He wasn't expecting that. Maybe he's different.

Russell started looking around. He figured Dell could use a training buddy, a gym partner of sorts. He spotted Blake jogging along, and taking it slow, most likely trying to keep his pace so that he doesn't tire himself out.

"Hey! Husky boy!" Mr. Russell called out to Blake, who stopped the instant he heard the tiger's voice.

"Um, my name is Blake, sir." Blake nervously introduced himself.

"Alright, Blake! Come over here!" Mr. Russell ordered to the husky.

Blake walks over to Russell and Dell, whom Russell gently released from his grip.

"I think you already know each other from your classes before this one but, I want you to be Dell's gym partner."

"Eh? Why? We haven't even done exercises yet-"

"Don't ask questions! Just do as I say!" Russell shouted again, shutting Blake up instantly, "Now listen, having a gym partner is a good way to help inspire confidence when one is lacking a partner. You look like a good kid, so I'm sure you'll take care of this weepy rabbit here."

"U-Um, I'm not weepy, sir..."

"NO BACKTALK!" Russell yelled again. This teacher really loves to yell.

"YES, SIR!" Blake and Dell yelped simultaneously. After that, they look at each other.

"Hehe, well, best of luck for the future, I guess." Blake extends his right hand to Dell in a friendly manner, "You already know this from our first class together, but I'm Blake." Blake said while smiling.

"U-Um..." Dell said hesitantly. He moves his left hand to Blake's right. He felt unsure at first, but then he remembered, he wanted to talk with Blake a little more. Maybe being gym partners won't be so bad. Thinking that, a smile graced Dell's face, "I'm Dell. N-Nice to meet you." Dell said, and he took Blake's hand, shakes it.

"Yes, now that's what I like to see! Friendly smiles and firm hand shakes!" Russell smiled as well, "Now, embrace that compassion, and continue your run of life!"

"YES, SIR!" Blake and Dell practically ran for their lives.

After the endurance run was over in a few minutes, Mr. Russell was able to determine who has the potential to become stars in today's sports era, and who needs training to become stronger.

After this, he showed his students where the locker rooms are, in the first floor of the school, below the gym. Tomorrow, they'll be using the locker room to change into their gym clothes for gym class. For now, it's just an endurance run that will surely leaving many students hungry. Luckily for some of them, lunch next after gym.
