#1 of Fallen Kingdom

This is the start of a new series, hopefully. The characters will be fully-named in the next chapter. The 'sonas belong to the following people:

Wusky (Wolf Husky Hybrid) belongs to Fenrir Darkwing

Folf (Fox Wolf Hybrid) belongs to SkyWing

Wiger (Wolf Tiger Hybrid) belongs to Royal wolf knight

Panolf (Panther Wolf Hybrid) belongs to Darkstar

In the middle of a spring night, a black and white-furred wusky with cold blue eyes sat watch with his dual katanas sheathed in his lap, his paws ever grasping their blue thread-wrapped hilts. It never paid to be reckless in these lands, and right now, the wusky and his fellow wolf-hybrid companions were camped out in the mountainous forests of Myth. Those companions were currently asleep further in the cave, the small group also consisting of a folf (fox-wolf hybrid), panolf (panther-wolf hybrid), and wiger (wolf-tiger hybrid). The first two, like the wusky himself, had come from other villages where the warlord's men had attacked and tried to conscript men to fight in his army.

You see, this kingdom for the last three years had grown large in populace and fought its neighbors to acquire more land for expansion and wealth. Because it was constantly fighting wars on all sides, they were always in need of new recruits. This need also caused them to no longer care about the bloodlines that used to be so important to the kingdom. So when they attacked your home, you had 3 options available:

  1. Join and fight within their ranks

  2. Flee your home and avoid the kingdom

  3. Die either from refusal to join or trying to fight them

As he slowly trailed off in thoughts of the past, the wusky's gaze fell upon the last member of their band, the wolf-tiger hybrid. He had been a knight in the army before they lost what he called their "moral compass and all sense of reason" and ended up on the run just like them. The little group had met him in the forest and the wusky couldn't suppress the chuckle he got from the heart attack he gave them by showing up in knight armor. Eventually though, they talked each other down by the one thing that united the lot of them. Hunger and the desire to stay alive.

The wusky's ears perked and swiveled as the folf arose for his watch shift, rolling his eyes at the straight-bladed sword he picked up. He walked over towards the mouth of the cave and simply asked, "Any noise out there tonight Fen?"

Fen, whose full name was Fenrir, stood up and brushed off the forest camouflage pants his group wore. "No, all quiet. Although this cliff gives one hell of a view, especially with the stream over there. Speaking of, I'm going to go grab a drink. If you want one, I'll stay and let you get one before your watch." he said.

The folf simply shook his head at the offer, looking out at the scene before the pair. "No, I'm not thirsty, but thanks for offering. And you're right, it is an impressive view. See you soon." he responded.

The wusky nodded before silently picking up his blades and padding through the forest. He jumped over mossy logs as he made his way towards the sounds of the stream, eventually getting to the relatively quiet and clean water that was running down a small hill and rushing around logs and rocks. Cupping his hands under a small off shoot the water rushed off of, the canine drank his fill before lightly splashing some over himself, wagging at the cool sensation.

He sat there for a moment, looking at his reflection in the water and calmly staring at his husky predominant features. He also saw the faint traces of his father's wolf blood in him through his straight tail and leaner physique. Standing up, he looked up to see the darkening sky fill slowly as a mildly strong breeze blew in darker clouds.

"Fantastic." he mutters to himself, "It's going to storm today, and as much as I like storms, the cats are gonna be whiney all damn day." He simply sighed in resignation before starting the jog back towards the rest of his group, his... pack.
