#9 of Time for a Change

"Just a minute!" Jenny called, tugging a new shirt on as fast as she could. She did not notice the slightly roughened area of skin on her lower back, which seemed to make a little arrow shape pointing up her spine. She considered her trousers and gave up on the idea of changing them. Mostly because the bell was going again.

"I said just a minute!" she yelled out, angrily. She stomped to the door, muttering under he breath. She was about to open it when she recalled how badly that had turned out last time. "Who is it?" she asked instead. For all she knew it could be some of the people who watched her get into the flat before, trying to get in to get a better peek at the goat-horned woman.

"It's Matt!" came the reply, muffled by the wood. "Can I come in, please?" Jenny heard a faint shuffling on the step, as if he was hopping from one foot to the other or looking around.

She reached up and touched her horns, the movement making her once again aware of the feeling of looseness in her joints. It felt a little like she was ill or seasick, and it was taking a little effort to make her knees not wobble a little. She continued to hope that this was a result of the adrenaline and fright caused by all this, and not some more sinister reason.

In any case, even with a fresh shirt, she did not know if she was up to seeing Matt in her current condition.

"Did work send you?" Jenny called through the door. She added a cough for good measure in case they had. "I should be all right by tomorrow. You might not want to come in and get what I have though."

There was a little pause, and then Matt whispered (loudly enough to be heard through the door), "I think I might already have it. Now let me in, for god's sake!"

That took Jenny aback. Of course, if she had come down with some Event related condition, then it was only natural that Matt might have done so as well. She opened the door, and Matt slid in. Before the cold could seep in with him, she closed the door and turned to find...
