#81 of Exploration

The city woke up slowly, and people went about their daily business. The man disappeared about his business, and Javid and self were left to contemplate our plans. Silverine rang in.

"Devlin's woken up." he said, sounding depressed.

"That's great!" I enthused,"What's the bad news?"

"He's leaving Central."

I sat bolt upright, as did Javid."Can I have that in as plain language as possible?" I said hollowly.

"Devlin has decided that he wants no further part in exploring the universe for an indefinite period, he's retiring back to his planet. He says he's almost been killed enough times, he wants to stop having to worrying about his life every time."

I was speechless. Devlin, going home, and not exploring for ages? My best hellfire friend would not be accompanying us next time?.

I stood. Anger burned off me. It wasn't entirely Devlin's fault, but there was a name that I could place it on, and that was Enoright, him and his dragon's bane. Javid got to his feet, and as I strode forwards, he jogged to keep up.

"Alduin, it was expected, he almost died, he needs a rest."

"Yes, and I know exactly to blame for that. Me, and Enoright. I will deal with this in my own way."

The wolf grabbed me." Alduin, I order you to stop." He was stronger than me,and I came to an abrupt halt.

I faced Javid."Javid, do you know what happened a week or so ago, when Draco got hurt?"

The wolf stopped, but kept hold on my upper arm.

"That was me annoyed. This is me annoyed right now. Let go."

The wolf let go as if burned, and I stalked down the street, Javid jogging after me.

Draco spoke reasonably in my ear."Devlin's been doing this as long as I have, I won't list all the things he's taken on.But he's not like me, and he knows when to give something a rest."

I turned off my headset."Never liked that station anyway."I muttered, getting to the main gates. A guard stopped me.

"Now, my friend, where are you going?" His spear was thrust out sideways, blocking my road.

My sword came out, and described a blur. I had it back in it's sheath and continued walking with in seconds. Javid began conversing with the guard, who was missing about two feet off the top of said spear.

I walked into the forest, and after five minutes came to a very uneasy party. No one wanted to say anything to me, or anything full stop.I began buckling up all my equipment, including my higher tech, and Draco spoke.

"I guess you're giving up stealth."

"Oh no, Draco. Just during that meeting there is going to be a small panic, guardian. And I intend to be prepared."

"Guardian?" Draco sounded interested.

"You are going to land in front of everyone, and start arguing with the wizards. If they don't listen to you, I will continue my systematic vaporisation of every wizard's shop and hovel, and I intend to be well armed."

"Will you be using the helicopter?" Ryan asked, and I smiled.

"No, I'm going to be on the ground. You are using the chopper."

Ryan looked slightly apprehensive of my mood, but also a little keen of flying the Apache. Javid would gun, and Salbar and Simba were both refraining from taking part in any fighting. Sullust also said she wouldn't mind destroying a couple of wizard's buildings.

I waited surprisingly patiently.Draco was much more understanding for his cousin, but also had a little anger to vent.So I sat there checking all my weapons. My rifle had been cleaned recently, my rocket launcher was fine, both dagger and sword were fine, and my C.E.O blaster might have been low on power and I wouldn't know the difference.

The hours passed, the dragons waited patiently. Draco would be carrying the baby for effect, this was our attempt at destroying the wizard's argument about dragon's not being caring like us. He also agreed that being called a guardian had the right ring to it.

"The Kaos guardian." he smiled, and I smiled with my own thoughts.

"Keep with dragon guardian, Draco, they won't understand the reference." I suggested.

"You could be the chaos guardian." he suggested in return.

"I'll keep it in mind." I replied.

As the bell chimed midday, I walked alone out of the forest. Javid and Ryan were about five miles away in the Apache, and Draco was standing by. I walked up through the deserted gates, and saw a mingling crowd down around the square. I walked up to it, no one was aware of me. I couldn't hear what was taking place, but as I approached, I knew who was there.

Enoright and eight of his magicians were there representing one side, on the other were eight citizens. The mayor was the impartial adjudicator. He was dressed very fancily, and wore a gold chain of office. The wizard were dressed in mystical robes with symbols over them.

I got to the edge of the crowd, and began to weave my way to the front of the crowd. The debate had only just started, and the mayor was explaining to everyone who was who. I wasn't paying attention, but I could hear quiet gasps as people around me saw this man carrying strange devices on him. None on stage noticed me until I got to the front. The civilians had formed a tight circle around the stage, but three of them noticed me behind them, and the circle was broken and people kept a small circle around me.

It would have looked like a circle that had received a bruise, and swelled up on a small area. I stood there, RPG held upwards with one hand, and the other steadying my rifle. The mayor noticed me, but he was official, and he didn't care who I was. I was watching the wizards, and didn't interrupt.I was going to let the debate come to me. I noticed the magician who had survived the explosion in the shop, he was there to say it wasn't a dragon, and he did notice me. He whispered something to Enoright.

Enoright spotted me, and glared. I smiled evilly behind my C.E.O glasses. Enoright was in a fix. He knew I was definitely not on his side, and he also knew I had a draconic companion. He would have been worrying what I was carrying too.But he couldn't object or say anything just now.The mayor stopped speaking, and sat down. Enoright stood up, and addressed everyone.

"My ladies and gentlemen.I know many people think the destruction or our shops was caused by the dragons, but dragons are not magicians, and no dragon could cast a fireball on the magnitude we saw yesterday."

"Then what did cause it?" one of the other side asked.

"We did some magical tests on the explosions, and found some hitherto unknown chemicals present in the debris of the explosion. Furthermore, we know who the perpetrator is."

"Who?" the mayor asked.

"Him." Enoright pointed at me, and I smiled.

"Wrong once again, my dim wizard." I announced, and people backed further away.

"You were seen at the scene just before all four explosions, and each time you came in carrying a keg, and left without one."

"I carried the kegs full of explosive, yes, but I didn't touch them. The dragon guardian was responsible for their detonation."

"What is this of which you speak?" the mayor asked, standing up.

"You are right, it is because of the dragons, but the dragons themselves didn't cause the blast. The dragon guardian heard the pleas of his fellows, and took steps to free them."

"Let us see this dragon guardian." Enoright challenged.

I set a scanner behind my back, and then dropped a smoke grenade. It exploded, covering me and everything around me with smoke, and I felt Draco teleport behind me. The dragon brushed my shoulder with a hand.

"Good one, Alduin. Now watch this."

As the smoke dispersed, there were quite a few screams. Standing directly behind me was a hulking dragon humanoid, his tail curled around my lower leg, and a hand on my shoulder. And in his other arm, cradled like a baby, was the small dragon, curled up protectively.

This both terrified and amazed the crowd. It was such a scary scene, this monster of which few of them had ever seen, and yet so heart warming, the way he stood defiantly with the child in his arm.Everyone on stage jumped, the wizards most noticeably.

"I have watched, and I am not happy." he hissed, and the wizards raised their staffs in protective ways.

"I thought so."Enoright sneered," Your companion thinks he looks after his fellows."

"I do." Draco replied simply."Before I destroyed each building, I travelled through the dimensions to each place you were holding dragons in, and took them from harm's way. You might argue that we are without emotion, or not human, but we do everything that you are capable of, and then some."

"Then why not warn, why not show sympathy, if you are so noble and holier than thou?"

"I said I was angry. You have hurt my brothers for too long, you knew you were asking for the fire I sent. You also threatened me and my cousin guardian with dragon's bane, you invoked the wrath of the spirits."

"You are not immortal, no spirit. You have no magical powers."

"But I guard never the less, I have many abilities that make me more powerful than anyone present, except maybe my diminutive human servant here."

"Oh, and what is he capable of?" Enoright asked, sneering. I was sick of this posing, and aiming carefully, fired an RPG round at the stage. It passed over the top, going through a gap between two wizards and the mayor, shot across the square, and disappeared through a window in a house saying it sold "Potions of mortal cures".

The entire house rocked and expanded, but the outside walls held as fire licked from every window. The door was burst open on a tongue of flame, and even the chimney sprouted a stream of fire. Then it stopped, and there was three seconds pause before the building collapsed. It was quite comical. It wobbled back and forth, and then crumbled like a badly made jelly. Very little debris actually fell outwards, most of the walls fell inwards due the lack of structure holding them.

The mayor and the pro dragon supporters shuffled off the stage, realising they were somewhat not needed. This was the dragons, represented by Draco, against the wizard community. Enoright seemed a little gobsmacked by the explosion, he hadn't seen anything like it before.

The supporters were out of range, as was the mayor, and Draco gripped me slightly, and I typed the number in my pocket.

"two-one-zero-four-five." I whispered.

Draco uncurled his tail, and pointed directly at Enoright and the wizards with his free hand.

"This is your final warning, accept that dragons are not to be hurt or captured."

Enoright's reply was to grab his staff, and point it at us, casting a spell. I pressed the button.

The entire stage exploded. The wizard's were consumed in the fire, and even I, due to my vicinity, looked away and shielded my eyes. Draco didn't, but the guardian couldn't look surprised. The civilians shrieked and cried in surprise.

Bits of timber rained around me, and I thrust out an arm to catch a timber than would have struck Draco. It was on fire, but I was used to getting slightly burnt before, and I immediately dropped it. Draco waited for things to stop raining from the sky, and then lowered the hand pointed directly at where the stage had been. He turned, looking for the mayor.

One wizard teleported into where the stage had been, he had done a short time travel, and he landed hard on the turf. His staff was clutched in his hands, and he looked dazed.

Draco walked towards the mayor, still carrying the child. I turned to watch. He was not smiling, and the mayor and everyone around him looked like they wanted to back away.

"Well?" Draco said.Just the one word, and the mayor shivered under the gaze of the dragon.

"All those in favour of passing by law 623/2a concerning dragons?" the mayor called to the audience. There was a huge shout in response, a hundred voices affirming their belief.

"All those opposed?"

Silence.

"We're getting good at this." I said to Draco in Centralite, who kept his face carefully blank.

"Guardian, we will make sure that no dragons are captured or harmed from here on."

"Make sure that is the case, otherwise I shall return, and I will not be forgiving. You had better pass that on to the other cities, because I, the guardian, will check."

This probably won't be the case, but what had happened would be enough to convince everyone else. You don't want your city destroyed piecemeal? Then trust me, don't do it.

The mayor nodded, looking pale, and Draco vanished.

There was a long silence while everyone stared at the empty space, and then everyone looked at me. The mayor walked up to me, looking reverentially at me.

"Servant of the Guardian,we promise that your master's wishes will be fulfilled."

"I should hope so. He has a host of dangerous followers, I am only one of many. And he will not allow a second offence." I replied strictly.

Ryan spoke into my headset."I'll come over in the Apache, that'll terrify them."

"Pick me up too. Sorry, Javid, that means you'll either be evicted now or later."

"I'd prefer now, Ryan flies badly." the wolf replied.

"I do not!" the tiger protested. The wolf teleported to Central. Draco, Salbar and Simba were all in the forest with the dragons, celebrating the success.

The man I had built the stage with came over.

"You never told me you were a servant of the dragon guardian."

"I never tell anyone much at all."I replied."The less you know, the less chance I will have to kill you.But it's always nice talking to villagers."

"And your friend?"

"Was under a crafty disguising spell, he is not human either."

The man shivered, and the mayor looked at the two of us.

"You two know one another?" and of course the stage man had to explain that I had spoken to him earlier, and had helped build the stage.

"You knew it was going to be destroyed?" the mayor asked me.

"If the guardian lost his temper, yes. That's why I made sure it was tightly built, to prevent the spread from the blast if he got over enthusiastic."

"Did he?"

"No, he was actually surprisingly calm about the whole thing." I said, looking surprised myself. This did not help the mayor's frame of mind at all about the whole thing. The wizard came over.

"My lord,"he said to the mayor," I shall spread the word to the other wizards, and they shall tell the ones in the other cities. We will not capture any dragons, it's just our potion prices will be exorbitant."

"I care not for prices, I care about the citizens, and the city." the mayor replied.

"I know, lord.Me personally, I don't want to see him back either." the wizard walked, his silver robe flowing out behind him. I smiled briefly.

"Servant, how are you leaving?" the mayor asked me.

"The guardian is equipped with teleportation, and I could do it too, but one of the others is coming to collect me."

"In what way?" the mayor asked.

"In one of the guardian's chariots."I said, trying hard to suppress a grin.

"He rides a chariot?"

"I am incapable of flight, he crafted it for us." I lied. Everything was recording, and I knew there were going to be laughs a plenty in the food store.

Then I heard it. the steady drumming of the rotors. The mayor looked around, but it wasn't in sight, so naturally he couldn't see anything.

"It comes now, that sound has been the death knell for many a dissenter." I said, plainly. The mayor shivered, looking around frantically, and I turned to see the Apache buzz over the trees towards the village. It was flying at about one hundred, but quickly slowed as it approached the square.

"Lord deliver us!" the mayor looked terrified at the arrival of the helicopter. The square cleared, save for the ten people in front of me that were to terrified to break ranks in front of a servant of the guardian. I smiled at the chopper.

"Ah, my fellow servant is here. Remember this day, the words of Alduin, the servant of the guardian.Dragons are not inferior just because they don't look like you."

"You are not one of us, what do you truly look like?" the mayor asked, half begging to see, and half wishing not to know. I smiled, and changed into my Tripod form. The ten broke rank, and ran for it. I changed back into my normal form, and ran to the helicopter as it landed.Ryan was sitting behind the pilot's seat, grinning widely.

"You'll go down in history as a terrifying creature,Alduin." he smiled.

"Been there, done that." I said, strapping into the gunner's seat, and closing the cockpit. The Apache rose off the ground, viewed by countless hiding people.

We pulled away over the forest, and Ryan flew me serenely for about ten miles, each both trying to stop ourselves from bursting out with laughter. Then we came to the field where the dragon's bane grew, and I pulled out my gattling cannon.

"Ryan, time for some defloration, I don't want a single leaf remaining."

Ryan began circling, and he fired about twelve of his missiles at the centre. The missiles were incendiary, and the fire spread quickly around the field. I used my gattling cannon to beat up around the clearing, making a sort of fire break. The green smoke rose, and dissipated harmlessly after about half a minute.

The entire field took about half an hour to burn, but every time a new plant went up in flames, I felt a very satisfying surge. That was for Devlin, that was for Draco, that was for every god damn dragon that had suffered because of that plant. We left the field smoking, and landed about one hundred metres across a small stream that circumnavigated the field. Sullust flew over the forest, and landed next to us, and everyone else teleported.

"That was most impressive." Simba said.

"I didn't expect some devious planning at carnage from a human." Sullust rumbled her opinion.

"No one expects from me, until they see me smile. Then they know they're in trouble." I replied, smiling, and lying back on a small mound.Draco looked at my reclined pose.

"The guardian has something to do though."

"The servant doesn't mind, as long as you don't hammer my ass too badly." I replied. Draco laughed.

Sullust and the four dragons we had freed thanked us profusely, and then she led them flying back to where she had been heading.

"Doesn't that give you a warm feeling?" I asked, as they flew out of sight.

"You bet." Ryan smiled, as Draco began undoing the button and zip on my black trousers.I was resting on my hands, with elbows out in complete relaxation, and made no effort to stop him. Ryan looked on enviously.

"Can I join in?" he asked.

"Not this time." Draco replied." This is just the guardian and Alduin alone, he deserves it after that example of planning and foresight. Why do your plans work so well?"

"I have no idea, except I suppose I'm good at working on that sort of things." I replied, as Draco pulled off my trousers and boxers together, exposing my nakedness. Simba and Ryan smiled at one another.

"Abigail, we're finished here." he spoke into his communicator, and after two minutes, the chopper vanished like that. Then the others vanished, leaving me and Draco there.Draco had gotten naked, and he got down on top of me.

Draco was exceptionally gentle with his thrusts, this wasn't dominance, this was more Draco thanking me for the stunt I had pulled. One hand delicately played with my cock until it was erect and then gently began a slow stroking rhythm. I sighed in relief, glad to be over and done with all the carnage.

Draco worked in tandem, coordinating his gentle shafting of my ass and the teasing of my cock well. I shifted in mild discomfort and pleasure at the dragon's efforts. Draco looked pleased with himself, and jerked me off with a little more speed. I writhed back and forth for a couple of minutes, and then let go with a load of semen that landed on Draco's scales. Draco got out of me, and smiled.

"Thank you, Alduin. You saved my life, and all those dragons as well."

"Correction: Simba saved your life."I was not taking the congrats for that. Draco nodded wisely, and we teleported.

After I got back with Draco, we were greeted by Silverine, who directed us to the food store. We hurried there, and found everyone there holding a leaving party for Devlin. He smiled as we entered, and I slid a seat next to the Hellfire.

"You're not leaving without this human saying something." I began.

"I'm leaving whether you like it or not. Just for a while, that plant was no rest cure."

"Then see you in a few months, eh Dev?"

"We shall see." he replied, and immediately conversed with Draco in Draconic.

I set up a hologram projector, and Javid thoughtfully started feeding data into it. As everything was ready, I set the hologram projector on the table, and enounciated.

"I guess everyone wants to know what happened on this planet, so Javid's got a recording of nearly everything that happened. Do we have a glower here, this will save us having to explain?"

"I'm here, Alduin." one glower was in the corner.

"Good, now all of you enjoy.I'm going home."

Then I brushed the teleporter before anyone else could say anything. It was midday Sunday, and I was alone. Meanwhile I watched the recording on my glasses in the privacy of my own home. Now I watched, I smiled. The plan was genius, it's execution perfect, but there was me, acting as though the devil incarnate was a mere lesser creature compared to me. Javid flinched every time he got the explosion, but when he looked back at me, I was still walking, mangling the unlit cigar in my mouth.

I fast forwarded to the argument between Draco and the wizards, and even Draco seemed to be acting perfectly. The dragon guardian moments were recorded by me, and I stood looking beside Draco, watching with respect. The seriously cute moment was when the baby dragon yawned and stretched, and Draco gently stroked it while staring defiantly at the wizards. Then after the explosion, the consultation with Draco, he vanished, brushing his teleporter, and then my conversation with the mayor had me smile.

And because I had taken longer, I was just finishing as Alecto turned up, laughing fit to burst.

"Oh god, how on Central do you do it?" he managed to wheeze.

"I am an actor, I came up with it on the spot." I smiled at the fox, who was holding his ribs for suspected fracture as a result of laughing too hard.

"They all found it hilarious." Alecto gasped, and I stood up and held him by the shoulders.

"Breathe, Alecto. That's it, deep breaths." this calmed him down a bit, but he was still grinning wider than a canal.

"But yes, Devlin's gone for his break, Draco can't stop laughing either, we had a couple of Simba's shots of the exploding buildings with you two in the background.Javid flinched like hell, but you kept on walking!" this started him off again, and I rolled my eyes towards the wall at the hysterical fox. There was a burst of static on my head set, and I switched it on.

"If this is someone talking to me about my exploits, I already know."

"I am impressed." the glower said in my ear.

"As am I." Silverine added," While you may not be the strongest here, I doubt I would find anyone better at you with devising a plan. And your acting in front of the mayor, very nice."

"Correction, Silverine.I devise evil plans, destructive plans, really well."

"Then what about getting Joanna and Gerard together on my planet?" Javid asked.

"That was evil." I argued."That was me playing Cupid, that can't possibly be nice. And who else in on this line?"

"Practically everyone." Valmeero replied. I sighed, as Alecto stopped gasping for breath and sat down on the couch, with a seraphic smile on his face.

"O.K., thank yous noted, anything else needing to be said?" I replied.

"I thought you had pulled off a good plan,"Draco finished,"But that was beyond good. I didn't see it at the time, but that was superb the way you got into a discussion after that third explosion with the carter."

"O.K., so I engaged him in conversation..."

"You also set about the idea to pass the law." Draco ignored this attempt to break off," You played this plan like a marionette."

"Coming from the dragon guardian? I was more impressed with your acting."

"Now, now, Alduin, you took all honours this time." Draco replied.

"He's right. While I am not a fan of pyromania..." Winslo began, our resident ice magician obviously adding his piece," That was a flawless way to destroy the buildings. They never saw it coming."

I accepted thank yous once more, and then switched off the link, placing my glasses neatly on top of my drawer of mementos. I then drew from my pocket the marble game piece and placed it in the drawer.

"So what brilliant idea has the mastermind got in store now?"

"This mastermind wants to go to bed." I replied, and Alecto grinned.

"Ah, you are looking for some sex?"

"No, I am looking for some sleep. Thinking that much gives me a head ache." I replied.

"Well, it was thought power put to good use."

"I certainly hope so." I replied indignantly.

"Well, admittedly you did put a dent in the wizard population, but on the other hand Draco and Dev almost got killed, so I think you acted remarkably restrained."

"Not what most of the others thought. They thought I was going hard out."

"Do you think you were going hard out?"

"I was remarkably restrained, my nuclear efforts last week was when I was likewise annoyed. I destroyed the entire town because of my anger. This time I merely removed four wizard's shops and a stage from existence."

"Did I say that book on anger management would help you or not?" Alecto gibed, and then went down under me as I lapt at him. I physically tore off the fox's top, and pinned him against the couch. He laughed as I did.

"O.K., I think I'll just be quiet at this point." he suggested.

"I do not have an anger management problem." I suggested in return, which made us both burst out laughing. O.K., I will admit I get annoyed, but seeing as it takes the almost death of a scout to make me annoyed, I categorically deny I've a short fuse.

Alecto removed his trousers suggestively, and I looked at his panting frame with interest.

"How tempting." I said out loud.

"I certainly hope so." the fox replied,"You know you want it, after all Draco fucked you and you didn't get off."

"That is not true." I admitted,"So why are you so sexual all of a sudden?"

"My two weeks is on the blink, it's not as regular as everyone elses, and I've having one right now."

"So you want me to fuck you, but not to ejaculate inside your vagina?"

"Yes master."

"I don't think I can come up with a better plan than that." I acknowledged, and began to remove my trousers, as Alecto laughed again. It seemed to be infectious, and he lay waiting for me to begin.
