A sinister grin appeared on his face as he brought the knife up to her face. She began to full out sob as the blade grazed her cheek drawing blood.

"Sir!" The last man shouted. "This one looks to be in fabulous condition. We could make a fortune off of her back in Feros!"

The leader retracted his knife with an unsatisfied look on his face. He glared at man who spoke before slowly walking over to him. The man gulped, a bead of sweat falling from his temple. He was given a disarming smile by the leader which he returned with a sigh of relief. The sigh was then followed by a small choking sound and a blank expression as the man fell to the ground, the knife protruding form his chest.

Zephyr let out a loud cry as tears began pouring from her eyes. The agonizing cry was so loud that Maddox was able to catch a glimpse of it. The sound of Zephyr screaming almost made his heart stop beating. Danger has never been an issue, but hearing that scream sent a wave of panic through him. He stood up the spear he was working on tightly gripped in his hand as he took off in the direction of the scream. The sobbing grew louder and louder as he noticed not only Zephyr, but also 4 men standing around with 1 dead on the ground.

Maddox had never seen anybody die, an animal for sure, but never a person! He quietly dashed to a large tree about 20 feet from the scene. The voices of the people became clear to Maddox as he listened to their conversation.

"So does anybody else have any other objections to make?" The leader asked his group sharply.

Everyone replied with a huge gulp and a furious shake of their heads.

"It's really a shame," the leader began, a slight chuckle escaping. "He was right about Feros."

As the man turned his back, Zephyr did her best to slowly try and crawl away, but to no avail. The man had heard her slight movements and spun around grabbing her by the neck. This made Maddox tighten his grip on the spear even more. His head began to throb as it sent him mixed signals if he should reveal himself and attack or remain hidden.

His mind was made up for him as men began to pack up their weapons and head off. A rope was pulled out of one of the men's backpacks and tied around Zephyr's hands. She quietly sobbed to herself as she was tugged away, her body disappearing from Maddox's vision.

They had left the body of the man who had been stabbed. Once they were all gone from vision he slowly walked up to the man's body and closed his lifeless eyes. Maddox knew regardless of what kind of person you are, everybody deserves a burial. Maddox didn't have the tools on him to dig a hole for him so he began collecting leaves and flowers to cover his body. When he had collected enough to surround the body, he gave a final nod and walked away, almost feeling like that man was finally at peace.

Maddox walked over to the tree he had been hiding behind and slumped down. Tears began to well up in Maddox's eyes, his grip on the spear completely gone. His hand had sanguine splotches due to his intense grip.

"She's gone," he chocked out to himself. "I only have Finnick left... Finnick!" He jumped up and began to sprint home. He had left Finnick sleeping all alone. It usually wasn't a big deal if somebody is left at the house alone, but knowing there were human's in the area, Maddox began to worry.

He would never forget the image he saw when he reached his home. Years of hard work on the house they repaired had all been wasted. The house looked as if somebody had taken a large club and had beaten it. Supplies were scattered around the small campsite. The fire had been stomped out and the fire wood had disappeared.

Maddox's legs shakily moved towards the house. He extended his arm for the door which had been torn partly off its hinges. His fingers barely touched the door as it fell from its hinges, hitting the ground with a large thump. Maddox jumped at the sound taking a step back to regain his composure. He walked into the house noticing all the cabinets being open and food scattered around the house, all the trails leading to the bedroom.

Maddox sat at a wall and began to cry again as he noticed small splotches of blood right before the bedroom door.
