Spring time has come around just like every Spring for the last five years. They had turned the old abandoned house into something beautiful. Food was now plentiful ever since Maddox learned to hunt and Zephyr learned to farm and gather berries. Life was easy. However, easy wasn't good for Maddox.

Maddox wanted more to life then living in the woods. He wanted to meet new people, see the world, and enjoy life. Being stuck with only his family to talk to made him upset. On multiple occasions he has complained to Finnick about leaving for a little while. Finnick always refuses due to his cautious nature. Maddox doesn't disobey his brother though. Without him, the family would be nothing.

Zephyr also shared this curiosity of the outside world with Maddox. However, she really never showed any signs of it. Only when she was out gathering berries would she ever dream of leaving. Each day she would venture out further trying to see if she could discover something new, but to no avail. Today, however, was the day she did discover something.

For five full years there have been very few unfortunate events. The worst that would occur is a sick family member in which Finnick would make the 10 mile trip to the town to get medicine. Maddox would beg endlessly to take him with, but Finnick would refuse every time. Food shortage never became an issue, except for some extremely cold winters where hunting was a necessity.

It was just another day, Finnick was napping while Maddox sharpened a stick into a spear and Zephyr was told to go out and find berries. Just like every other day. Her search for berries was an easy one as she had already known where all the berry bushes are located. She had picked a full basket of them, but her journey was not going to end there for her. She was waltzing through the forest just enjoying the scenery when she began to slow. She glanced around making sure that nobody was in the area. When she believed the coast was clear, she changed into her Sothren form, a wolf.

It isn't difficult to change from human to Sothren or vice versa. However, it does require a large amount of magic energy, or Mana as they would like to call it. She bounded through the woods chasing a small butterfly just for fun. She felt free like this, like she didn't need to hide one identity or another. She wanted the freedom to switch anytime she wanted, but with the chance her getting caught and captured was a risk that Finnick couldn't take. She danced deeper and deeper into the forest before a loud noise silenced it all.

Crack!

Her ears perked up as her heartbeat began to pick up speed. The noise was way too loud to be any sort of wild animal. She began to sprint back the direction she came. That's when she heard it.

"I hear it running this way!"

A voice. An unfamiliar voice for that matter. She began to hear their footsteps grow closer and closer. Every snap from a branch she heard caused her to flinch in terror. She held en even pace until she caught sight of the overgrown roots sticking up from the grown, but it was too late. Her foot got caught in between the root as she fell to the ground with a large thud. She tried to claw away, but to no avail, she was stuck, awaiting her capture.

Tears began to fill her eyes as she saw the shadowy figures approach her. She counted 5 in total, all of them humans.

"Well, well, well," one of them began. "What do we have here?"

"Little wolf got its leg stuck?" Another teased.

"Looks like a child," a third said. "A female as well."

"You know it's illegal to be wandering around these woods," said what looked like the leader of them all.

The man then pulled out a sharp blade causing Zephyr to release an audible gasp.

"It's a beauty isn't it?" The man said whilst fumbling with the knife in his hands. "You know... It's specifically made for cutting bone."
