#1 of Charles Exciting Adventure

Ah, poor Charles. Being subjected to life in New Doc when all he wanted was peace and quiet.

Charles sighed. The constant raining had diminished his mood awfully. He hated rain, though the glass completely blocked out the noise. Its presence was there and his once-seemed pleasant window seat just ruined the trip.

'On a train headed to a city I've never been to without any relatives or friends... quite the bold one, aren't we Charles?' he thought to himself, huffing.

He shook his head at how excited he was at finally going out and seeing other parts of the world! 'Bleh. It's been terribly boring and bland so far. I suppose things will pick up in New Doc. At least, I hope so.'

He looked around to dash his eyes along the other passengers. They'd been withered down too by the twenty hour long trip and most of them were sound asleep in their seats, a few unfortunately snoring.

Snuggling into the side, he returned his attention to one of the many books he had brought prepared, snickering a bit. 'Ah Snakespeare, you're a genius.'

Half an hour later, which passed rather quickly to Charles surprisingly, the train stopped. A gruff voice spoke over the intercom. "New Doc City! We'll have a 45 minutes break."

"Ha, finally," he said, tucking his book in and stretching a bit. Slinging his bag on, he exited the train mentally cheering at finally arriving which quickly returned to despair seeing the still downpour.

"Better get to my place of stay then," muttering to himself, he signaled a cab. It drove over, almost splashing a puddle of water on him (How very rude!). Getting in, he was greeted by a grunt. "Where to mate?" the driver said, his snout wiggling.

"It'll be 22 Chef Street."

The driver grunted and began to go forward, slowly slicking through the roads. "Mate, where are you from? I've never seen someone like you before and I've been living here since I was a little piglet."

"I'm from... Threeton. I'm a dragon if you couldn't tell." Charles shuffled in his seat a bit, a little uncomfortable.

"Right! There was this nagging feeling in my head! I couldn't place it at all. I'm kinda surprised though man, I always did think of you guys (the nerve of him, referring to us with such a tone!) with scales and scary-huge teeth and claws."

"Well, I'm a squishy dragon."

It was a rather awkward ride with the driver trying to dabble a bit of conversation in and out which Charles just responded with looking out the window and taking the sights in. After a somewhat dragged on ride, the cab stopped in front of a warmly lit house in a short neighbourhood. "Here we are mate. That'll be $7.50."

Handing the money to the driver's chubby hand, Charles got out and observed the house. It looked... inviting. Yes, that was the word he'd use to describe it.

'Alright then... this will be my home during my stay here. Look out New Doc, Charles has arrived.'
