The start of a new series involving a young man and a renamon.

I walked down a long hallway until I heard the screaming. I started running in the direction of the sound and found myself in a large chamber with statues lining the walls. In the middle of the room a large humanoid fox was being held up by a large black dinosaur with three claws on either hand, a horned skull and black stripes going down its body. I instinctively rushed at it as the fox yelled out again before being silenced by the squeezing of the dinosaur's hand on its throat. I growled softly and grabbed a sword from one of the statues then swung at the dinosaur's back causing it to drop the fox. It turned to face me and slowly breathed in black flames forming in its mouth.

I swung the sword again and ended up cleaving through a ball of fire that the creature spat at me before waking up in a cold sweat. I swore softly and wiped sweat off my brow muttering "God I hate dreams where I die. That one in particular is pretty bad. Why do I keep dreaming about two digimon fighting and interfering in their fight, and why do I always save the fox even though it gets me flamed." I shook my head and got up then headed to my dresser and pulled out a pair of jeans and a black t shirt. I pulled on the shirt and pants then pulled on a pair of socks and my sneakers before walking over to my closet and pulled on a black hoodie before heading for my door.

I opened the door and found myself face to face with my younger sister Myna and her gabumon Rio. I looked at the two questioningly and Myna said "You promised to take me shopping for new cards this morning." I sighed and ran a hand down my face and said "That was today?" I opened one eye and saw Myna nodding while Rio looked behind me at my room then said "You don't have to if you don't want to Jay, your little sister's just looking for a chance to bond with you and going out for cards is the first thing that came to her mind." I smiled thankfully at Rio then said "Nah Rio. I promised you two I'd take you out to buy cards, so I'll take you out to buy cards. I may as well get myself some while I'm at it. Never know when digimon cards will come in handy in the modern world." Rio nodded and Myna grabbed my hand dragging me toward the kitchen for breakfast.

I walked over to the fridge and pulled out a carton of eggs. I opened the carton as Rio and Myna sat down at the kitchen table and slowly started breaking the eggs into a frying pan on the stove. It was my turn to make breakfast, which was rare mind you since I can't cook, and Rio and Myna seemed to be enjoying watching me work. I sighed as I thought about the world we lived in. It had been about ten years since the digital world had first infringed upon the human world and now just about all the kids in the world have digimon partners.

A few of my friends had digimon, and of course Myna had one who'd appeared three years ago. Rio, as he later told us his name was, was a gabumon who arrived shortly after the death of Myna and I's parents when I was thirteen. That was three years ago, and my little sister had been trying to get me to get her a tamer's license that would allow her to head to the digital world since. I shook my head and focused on the food I was making, scrambling the eggs and keeping them from burning. Rio and Myna watched me and Myna said "Penny for your thoughts big bro?" I shrugged and said "Just thinking about the world we live in." She nodded and I silently wondered how my boss was going to act when I came into work. He'd probably just laugh it off and say he understood why I was late since I was watching my sister.

I yawned and the two of us walked to the local card shop. The moment we entered my buddy Ray, who ran the damn place since his dad owned it, waved at us and said "Here to pick up some cards eh Jay?" I nodded and said "Myna wants some new cards and I figured I'd pick some up for myself for the hell of it. It may give me ideas for the game the company's working on." Ray grinned and said "So Myna what kind of cards are you looking for?" Myna grinned and replied "Ability and modifier cards if you have any Ray." Ray pulled out a box and set it on the counter. Myna walked over and opened the box then started looking through the cards with love in her eyes. I chuckled a I watched her, then walked through the shop picking cards that I figured would help inspire me to work on the game for my company.

We were doing a digimon game, so I needed all the inspiration I could get. I blinked as I saw the black dinosaur from before on a card and read it to myself. The card was black greymon it was a champion level digimon and the digivolution of black agumon. It was a virus type digimon. I studied it before shoving it into my deck and walking up to the counter to pay for Myna and I's cards. Myna had picked out about forty cards and looked at me with pleading eyes. I sighed and dished out forty bucks for her cards and mine which Ray happily put in the register before handing me an extra booster pack. I looked at him questioningly and he said "Never know what you'll find in these packs. It may inspire you." I nodded as I glanced at Myna who was putting the cards she'd gotten into the belt on her waist alongside her d arc.

She smiled at me and I said "Well I better head to work, although we should probably drop by the courthouse first." She looked at me questioningly and I asked "You still want your tamer's license right?" She slowly nodded and the two of us left the shop after saying farewell to Ray. We walked to the courthouse with Rio and Myna discussing the cards they got while I just mused to myself on why I'd been dreaming about Black Greymon. I silently wondered if the place I'd been dreaming about was part of the digital world, and who the fox was. I realized they must be a digimon as I walked into Myna who punched me in the arm and said "We're at the courthouse."

I glanced up then blinked and said "So we are, let's head in and get you your tamer's license. Then we can head home and you can pack. I know you're anxious to head to the digital world." Myna grinned at the thought of heading out as we walked up to the secretary who looked at us questioningly. I smiled politely and said "My name's Jacob Wolf, I'm here to get my little sister Myna Wolf her tamer's license." The secretary started typing away on her computer I leaned on the desk and watched her work admiring her figure. Myna slapped me and glared silently. Meanwhile Rio chuckled at the two of us finding our little spat amusing. Finally the secretary looked at me and said "Paperwork's mostly done we just need both you and your sister's signatures. After that you two can be on your way with your sister's license."

I smiled in thanks and signed on the electronic pad she handed to me then handed it to Myna who readily signed her name. Rio watched us with a slight smirk which looked odd on his lupine muzzle. I glanced at him questioningly and he just smirked. I sighed and watched as the lady printed out a plastic card humming softly. She handed it to me and I tossed it to Myna who smiled and put it in her wallet before nodding at the secretary and we left. We walked back to the house where I changed shirts and put on deodorant then headed out to go to work waving at Rio and Myna who were talking about their trip to the digital world.

I ignored their conversation as I pulled a bottle of water out of the fridge before heading for the door and out toward the office building where I worked. I yawned as I walked already working over the code I'd have to work with when I got into the office as I approached the building. My friend Damien, who was eighteen one of the youngest members of the company beside myself, was standing outside smoking a cigarette. He glanced at me as he put out the cigarette and said "Hey Jay, ready for work?" I nodded and headed into the building with Damien in tow then the two of us headed for the elevator.

The elevator opened as we approached and out stepped my boss Andre Nokamura. Andre glanced at Damien and I and asked "About to head up to your jobs gentlemen?" We nodded and he said "Good, though you are a little late Jay, it's excusable since you have to watch over your younger sister." I nodded and climbed into the elevator with Damien. The two of us rode up to the fifth floor where Damien got out then I rode the rest of the way to the seventh floor on my own. I got out and headed to my desk where my computer was on standby waiting for me. I booted it up and got to work coding the game that I'd been hired to help design.

I yawned as I worked coding in a few things and glanced at some of the cards I'd bought today. I slowly started coding in more stuff as Angie, one of my coworkers who I attended school with after work every day, walked up and started conversing with me. The two of us talked about her little brother Michael and my sister Myna who both had just gotten their tamer licenses. She mentioned Michael planned on going to the digital world tomorrow and I laughed then explained Myna planned the same thing. Suddenly my computer let out a harsh screeching sound from the speakers.

I turned and tried to turn it off but it was frozen showing a line of code all across the screen. I stared at it and tried typing in but all that happened was the screen started flashing wildly. I covered my eyes as the flashing started to get more rapid and Angie asked me "What the heck did you do?" I shook my head and replied "I didn't do anything my comp just went nuts. Hell you were here and saw the code I was working on, this wasn't it." She slowly nodded and said "Ok, you have a point. So what do you think happened?"

I shrugged and pulled the speakers out of my computer turning off the sound and said "I have no idea, however I'm curious what that code means." Angie nodded in understanding realizing that my curiosity was ruling my decision and I probably should report my problem to tech support. I forcibly shut down my computer after writing down the code and said "At least I saved my progress on the game before that weird coding bug." Angie nodded and I turned on my computer. At first I thought it would just start back up with that same code line on the screen instead all that happened was it booted up properly.

I went back to work on the game. I finished what I was working on and copied it to a flash drive then tossed the drive to Angie who took it to Victor, who was compiling all of the different parts of the game into one cohesive thing. I got up and headed for the door since my day of work was basically over. Angie waved at me as I got into the elevator and I waved back then headed downstairs. I had about four hours to kill before class, so I figured I'd go back to the house and help Myna get ready to leave as well as help with dinner.

As soon as I left the building I found myself in a swirling fog, I sighed softly and blinked as Myna and Michael suddenly ran up. Michael was about as tall as me, putting him at five foot eleven, had long black hair that went down the back of his neck, had light blue eyes, and was wearing a blue t shirt and jeans. He also had on a pair of red sneakers and was holding a fusion loader in his hand. He said "War greymon release." Causing a large bipedal dinosaur wearing metal plate armor, a helmet, and with a shield on his back appeared. He continued "Guilmon X release." Out of his fusion loader came a red dragon with black stripes going down its back, a white stomach, and three claws on either hand as well as each of its feet.

He rushed into the mist followed by Myna who'd digivolved Rio into a garurumon which was a large wolf with white fur and black stripes going down its back, muzzle, and legs. I watched them go then jogged to the house. When I got to the house I started making dinner when suddenly the door opened and Myna stumbled in with Rio who was supporting a yellow fox on his back. I stared at the fox and said "Is that...?" Myna nodded and said "It's a Renamon. She was in the field being beaten by the Devimon that we had to delete." I sighed and walked over then picked up the fox and carried her to my room then started cleaning her while Garurumon de-digivolved back into a gabumon and helped Myna cook dinner.

I finished cleaning up the fox, which seemed to be ok other than a little banged up. I sighed and studied her. She was about five foot five, had purple gauntlets on her hands, three large fingers, white and yellow fur, and yin yang markings on her arms and legs. I sighed and walked out to have dinner knowing that Myna was going to ask me to watch over our furry guest.
