Inner Demons - Part 6

"Fire Style! Great Dragon Fire Jutsu!" Focusing every drop of chakra he could muster, the giant fireball Sasuke produced shot forwards towards Kisame taking on the form of giant dragons head. Kisame realised his mistake the moment Sasuke launched his attack, memories of their fight upon the Great Naruto Bridge flashed across his eyes, only this time both attacks were considerably more powerful.

Sasuke's fire attack collided head on with Kisame's wind attack, the two attacks halting each other for a second before combining together, just like on the bridge the last time they fought Sasuke's fire attack consumed Kisame's and increased dramatically in power. The fire attack swelled to three times the size as it continued towards Kisame.

The moment he had realised his error, Kisame knew that there was little chance he would be able to avoid being struck by the devastating attack, he began to focus as much chakra as he could and channelled them into his swords. Hoping he had built up enough chakra he plunged the blades of his swords into the water seconds before the attack was going to wash over him.

"Summoning Jutsu!" Releasing his chakra into the water, Kisame stared down the wall of fire bearing down on him as the water began to move and take on a life of its own. The second before the fire washed over him a huge mass of water surged upwards from the waters surface dousing the flames.

Sasuke scowled in frustration as his attack was neutralised, he reached behind and gripped the hilt of his sword as he watched the huge mass of water spring forth from the lakes surface, the flames disappearing, a thick mist engulfing the area where Kisame had stood as the intense heat of the attack evaporated some of the water. Peering into the mist Sasuke could make out movement, but could not see what was moving, but whatever t was it was big! The mist cleared and Sasuke couldn't help but take a step backwards as he stared in disbelief. A giant serpent, bigger than he had ever seen, made of water stared at him; Kisame stood on it's head. Kisame looked tired, he had used nearly all his chakra to summoning the beast, Sasuke wasn't much better, he had used a lot of chakra to over power Kisame's genjutsu earlier and then again with his last attack.

"Behold! The Great Water Dragon, Leviathan!" Kisame declared. "This great beast will spell your doom!"

Sasuke scowled, he didn't know how he was going to defeat this beast, but he had to if he was going to go save Naruto. As much as he hated to rely on him, Sasuke hoped that Kiba was already on his way to save Naruto. Before he could ponder his next action the giant beast was ordered into action.

"Spirit of Leviathan, River of Destruction Jutsu!" With an all might roar the water dragon opened it maw wide and a powerful stream of water sprayed forth, Sasuke narrowly managed to dodge the jet of water but he had little time to recover as the constant jet of water began to follow him. Sasuke dived behind the trees again and to the ground, the jet of water slicing through the trees thick trucks like a hot knife through water.

"If I get hit with that I'm finished!" Leaping to his feet Sasuke ran at the giant beast.

"Great Storm Jutsu!" Kisame order the giant dragon, with a ear shattering roar the dragon followed the orders of it's master. The wind howled and thunder cracked overhead as storm clouds gathered, the waters of the lake began to swell and move violently; Sasuke struggled to retain his footing on the violently shifting water. Several giant whirlpools began to form across the lake.

"Shit not good!" Sasuke cursed as he struggled to retain his balance while being sucked towards one of the whirlpools.

"Forceful Tsunami Jutsu!" With yet another roar the giant dragon followed his masters orders and summoned a large wall of water which rushed towards Sasuke. Sasuke couldn't do anything as the wave washed over him. Sasuke was thrown around like a rag doll by the strong currents and was washed into one of the whirlpools. Sasuke was dragged further and further beneath the surface of the water, helplessly caught in the surging currents.

'Is this it? Am I going to die here?' Sasuke thought to himself, his body heavy, his lungs burning from lack of air but thought of only on one thing. 'Naruto...'

A thick purple gas sprayed from the barrel and washed over Kiba and Akamaru, Kiba immediately recognised something in the scent, it was butane. Kiba and Akamaru immediately leapt as high into the air above the cloud of gas, the gas at that moment was set alight by one of the many small fires that littered the area from Karabe's previous attack. The cloud exploded, propelling Kiba and Akamaru through the air, they both landed hard, rolling to a stop and remained motionless. A thick black smoke washed over them, Kiba could just make out Akamaru, his canine partner was slowly getting up, his legs wobbled as he did. Eventually Akamaru crawled over to Kiba and whined in concern, licking his masters face.

"I'm all right boy." Kiba assured him, pushing himself upright.

"YOU STILL ALIVE IN THERE KID?!" Karabe's voice echoed through the thick black smog. Kiba looked in the direction of the voice and could just make out the massive form of Karabe's contraption through the smog, but it was obvious that Karabe couldn't see them.

"That fucker likes explosions... then lets give him some!" Kiba aloud reaching into his pouch and pulling out six kunai with paper tags attached. "You ready boy?" Akamaru replied with a growl. "Lets do this!" Kiba formed a hand sign.

Karabe sat waiting for the smoke to clear, waiting to see if the brat and his dog had survived his last attack. His answer came sooner than expected when numerous kunai rained down on the ground around him and exploded. The smoke from the explosions washed over Karabe.

"Fang over Fang!" Kiba and Akamaru came rushing out of the wall of black smoke hurtling towards Karabe. Just as they were about to strike they collided with a barrier, the barrier glowed blue and warped and bent as Kiba and Akamaru struck it, after a moment the pair were sent flying backwards as the barrier repelled them. They crashed to the ground once again, Kiba grit his teeth in pain as he looked up to see Karabe completely unharmed. The panels on the legs of the contraption he had summoned projected the barrier that had stopped Kiba's attack.

"Nice try! But not good enough!" Karabe grinned, the barrel arm once again taking aim at Kiba. Kiba scrambled to his feet and took off in a sprint, Akamaru following suit. The gas once again spewed out of the barrel and chased them, the further they ran the slower the gas pursued them until it stopped altogether, they had run out of the weapons range. Shortly after the gas was once again ignited but this time Kiba and Akamaru weren't caught in the resulting explosion. Once again a thick black smoke washed over the area.

"YOU'RE PROVING TO BE MORE HASSEL THAN YOU'RE WORTH!!!" Karabe yelled, aware of the fact that Kiba had escaped the gas. Kiba had run into the tree line making it nearly impossible for Karabe to follow. "All right you fucker, take this!"

Karabe raised one of the other arms high into the air, the arm began to hum and the end begin to spin. Then one by one the arm fired out an endless stream of grenades which scattered across the area of forest that Kiba had escaped into. Kiba and Akamaru had stopped to rest behind a tree when they saw a metal orb hit the ground and roll to a stop. Kiba looked at it with a confused look before he realised, but by then it was already too late. The grenade exploded and sent Kiba flying into the tree trunk of a nearby tree and Akamaru flying further into the forest.

Kiba groaned in pain, his ribs felt like they were on fire, more than likely he had broken a couple of them when he hit the tree. Breathing was proving difficult and painful, not helped by the smoke that hung in the air making him cough and splutter. His vision was blurred, a slow stream of blood rolled down the side of his face from a nasty cut on his temple, Kiba knew he probably had a concussion.

"Akamaru!" Kiba whimpered, the attempt at speaking causing a coughing fit which only made his ribs hurt more, but Kiba needed to find out what had happened to his partner. "Aka-(Coughs)-maru!" A pained whine to his left floated to his ears and he turned to look in that direction. His vision still impaired he squinted, desperate to locate his companion. Kiba saw a white blob moving and began to crawl towards it. "Akamaru!" Another whine came from the direction of the white blob and Kiba knew that it was him, the white blob began moving closer towards him as well. Another set of explosions nearby showered them with earth but they didn't care, they needed to make sure that the other one was all right. After what seemed like an eternity they finally reached each other. Kiba cried and hugged the wolf-hound and Akamaru licked Kiba's face. Akamaru's fur was red with blood where he had suffered cuts and was limping badly, he was holding his right front paw off the ground. More explosions, these ones further away.

"I'm sorry boy!" Kiba cried into Akamaru's fur, the wolf-hound whimpering in response. "I really screwed up, I thought we could take him... but he's too strong!" Akamaru whimpered but then growled at Kiba. "I shouldn't give up? Look at us!" Akamaru bit Kiba's arm. "OWW! What the hell!?" Akamaru barked and growled. "I must be a pretty rubbish master if you're willing to bite me... all right... if we're going to die, we'll go down fighting!" Akamaru wagged his tail and barked happily. "We'll only get one more attempt in, if this doesn't work..." Kiba left the rest of his statement hang, they both knew what would happen if it didn't work. Kiba reached into his pouch, he was nearly out of supplies, he only had a few smoke bombs and some energy pills left. He gave some energy pills to Akamaru and then ate some himself. "Lets do this!"
