It had been six years since Apollo felt a female's heat. He often day dreamed of tucking his head between the thighs of the girl who lived down stairs. She always wore a low cut top and he had the best view from his apartment window above. Her breasts were not large, but hey, it was something to look at still. She was a cheetah, and built like a runner. It struck him as odd that her best friend was a hippo; they seemed to be total opposites. One was loud, big, and rowdy, the other quite, petite, and oh... so many other things... all the things Apollo wanted in a female. Maybe, he would like a bigger pair of breasts on her, but hey, no one is perfect.

What did all that matter? When Apollo stood in front of the mirror and looked himself over, he couldn't see any sign of a chance he may have with the cheetah girl he swooned over. His clothes were tattered and frayed from old age, his body was out of shape from eating junk food and drinking, he wore glasses that made him look like a pedophile, and worst of all, he was a maned wolf. He was the oddball in a diverse city, the only maned wolf. When he had moved to the area, he thought it would be an advantage to stand out, but now, five years later, he was left in solitude.

The tragic accident that had taken his parent and his former mate, had spared him his life, and left him with a major inheritance. It took everything that mattered to him, but left him with a clean slate to start over. For the past six years he had done nothing but age in a dark apartment and play video games. Every day Apollo promised himself he would change, start over, march downstairs, and confess his love for the girl whose name was still unknown. Instead, he woke up almost every afternoon after a wet dream, cleaned himself and sat down at his desk.

She had lived downstairs for six months now, and Apollo hadn't even taken notice to his neighbors before that. His big, upright, dark ears were more erect than ever the day she had moved in, he heard her parents, her friend the hippo, and a few other voices downstairs that day. She talked of meeting new guys in town, going to school, all the pointless female chatter that his last mate had never done, and it hadn't stopped since she moved in. All the talking, and he never heard her name. He knew her friends name, Adina. Yet no one seemed to ever call the cheetah girl by her name, in all these months.

"Maybe when it's been seven months, I'll hear her name, and then I will go down there and talked to her... lucky month seven." He laughed to himself, feeling like a stalker as he thought to ask the mail carrier. "What if it's not until I've been here seven years?" He wondered as his black fluffy tail waved slowly like a cat's as he got lost in thought.

His day dreaming soon turned into frustration, he felt as if he were a child. When had he let himself become so wasteful of every day? He stormed over to the window and flung it open, the afternoon sun warming his golden brown fur. His arms stretched up as his bare feet stepped cautiously onto the balcony as if he were afraid it was going to collapse. His dark furred paws reached and gripped the railing as he looked down. Suddenly he felt the blood warm his face, or was it the sun light? His crush was outside, talking to her friend. They both stared up at Apollo, who was just now realizing he wasn't wearing pants. His tattered green jacket and red satin boxers made him look like he was ready for winter, in the middle of summer.
