As I sat in one of the most uncomfortable plastic chairs ever designed outside of the radio room, I nervously drummed my fingers along a small table placed aside it. I sighed deeply and tried to relax, stretching out slightly as I did so. A sheep poked her head out through the doorway of the room.

"Five minutes," she smiled before quickly ducking back in.

I still had no idea what to say, other than what was on the flyer Danielle had given me earlier. I read it over one last time before the sheep pulled me into the room. "I'm Jackie by the way," she stated as we sat down in the "studio". "You ready?"

"Ready as I'm gonna be," I shrugged. I looked over all the different knobs and buttons in front of me.

"This is your host Jackie speaking and your listening to The Best of the Best Music Hour. Tonight we have a special guest with us, Mr. Mike Thompson, or probably as more of you know him, that guy who peed off the science building. Now he's not here to party with us, but rather tell us about an upcoming Winter Dance being sponsored by our very own dance team! I'll let him fill you in on the specifics." She nodded towards me.

"Before I bore you all half to death," I started, "I just want you all to know that I do not condone peeing off buildings unless it is in the pursuit of furthering scientific knowledge. For instance, I found out that it is in fact possible to pee off a five story building and have it hit the ground. I tried to explain to campus security I was merely performing an experiment for the betterment of all of our education, after all, it was the science building, but they however, disagreed. With that out of the way, I guess I should probably talk about this dance. As many of you probably have noticed, or more likely ignored, there have been an increasing number of flyers advertising this event. The Winter Dance is being sponsored by the dance team to raise money for fighting cancer. It's this Friday at eight, and it's $20 for a ticket. There'll be food, music, and of course as I'm sure you astute listeners have probably figured out, dancing. I encourage all of you to come out and help support such a great cause." I looked back over to Jackie.

"Sounds like fun. Mike will be sitting with us for the rest of the program and we'll hear more from him later, but first, here's a classic from everybody's favorite Beatles." She flicked a switch and smiled over at me. "You're a natural. Wasn't so hard was it?"

"Nah I guess not," I said throwing my feet onto the control table. The rest of the show passed much the same, with the same joking attitude and banter. Jackie warned me when the hour was about to end, and as we went on air for the final time she thanked the audience for listening and asked if there was anything I'd like to add.

"Well yes actually. There will be no alcohol served or allowed on the premises, so gentlemen take note, be prepared beforehand. But on a more serious note, this is for a great cause and should be a lot of fun, so I encourage you all to come. Plus if you don't, my girlfriend will kill me." Jackie laughed and I waited for her to stop before continuing. "Thanks for hearing me out and have a goodnight," I said as Jackie flipped off the on-air switch for the final time. I let out a huge sigh of relief.

"That was great! Thanks for making it entertaining," she said as I stood up and shook her hand.

"I'll just be surprised if there was anyone out there actually willing to listen to anything I had to say."

"You'd be surprised. Have a goodnight," she said as she stepped out of the doorway. I watched as she made her way down the hallway and then checked my phone. Two missed calls, and before I even had time to check it started ringing again.

"Hello?"

"Mike! You did great baby," Danielle's cheerful voice came from the receiver.

"Yeah, yeah. I just wanna know, when do I get paid?"

"Well that depends on how fast you can come to my place."

"In that case, I'll be there before you blink next."

"Alright, love you," she laughed.

"Love ya too. I'll see you in a sec." I hung up and made my way to her dorm building. The security guard sitting behind the counter of the doorway eyed me warily.

"You live here?" he asked.

"No. I go to school here though. I got my ID," I said throwing it at him. He looked down at it and then back up at me.

"It's past nine o'clock. You can't get in unless you live here."

"What? I have my ID man! I just wanna see my girl."

"Rules are rules kid."

"Are you fucking serious?" I asked angrily. "I'll give her a call right now and you can talk to her yourself."

"Whatever," he shrugged turning back to some magazine he had been reading. I called Danielle and she said she'd come down momentarily. I glared at him and then looked to the stairwell where Danielle was going to come down from.

"Hey baby," Danielle said making her way over to me. "Robby... You're not giving Mike a hard time?" she asked addressing the security guard.

"Sorry Ms. Syra. If I don't follow the rules I get fired."

"It's okay. I probably wouldn't have let him in either," she joked. I was still angry. "Well are you going to just stand there all night or are you going to follow like a good boy?" she said teasing her fingers along my own before tightly gripping my hand in hers. I nodded. "Goodnight Rob. Sorry if he gave you a hard time."

"Goodnight," he said. She led me by the hand to her room. Dana sat cross-legged at the end of her bed, a pair of glasses sliding down her muzzle as she was hunched over a book. When we entered she immediately beamed.

"Mikey!" she practically leapt from her bed to give me a hug.

"Down girl! Down!" Danielle said batting her away.

"Do you two want to be alone for a while?" she asked with what I thought was a hint of jealousy.

"If you don't mind... " Danielle answered, a bit of a blush forming around her face.

"Okay then. I'm going to go to the lounge. Have fun you two," she smiled as she slipped past us and whipped her way around the corner of the doorway. I watched with great interest as she made her way down the hallway.

"Dick," Danielle said hitting me.

"I'm sorry I'm enjoying the view. Now I do believe you owe me."

"Mmhmmm, I guess I do," she said coyly as she shut her door. I hugged her tightly and kissed her. I picked her up and threw her on the bed. We fooled around for a while, but before we could even begin the main event a loud, piercing screech began to wail.

"A fire bell. You have got to be fucking kidding me!" I groaned. Danielle wrapped herself in a robe, having discarded her clothing only moments before. I dressed quickly and we followed in line behind a group of other students. Most looked angry, and they had good reason to be; the most common reason for a fire drill around this time was burned popcorn.

"Unfucking believable," I heard someone in front of me say. It was blistering cold outside, and the light evening breeze had picked up considerably. Danielle hugged herself against me and shivered as we waited for the signal to head back in.

"Mike! Mike you bag of shit!" I heard someone yell. I looked around to see a large human male coming towards me.

"John man, what's up?" I asked, giving him a high-five.

"Nothing you little boner. You were supposed to gimme a call and come out last weekend," he said accusingly.

"Sorry man."

"And who's this?" he asked, nodding in Danielle's direction.

"Danielle."

"Your piece?"

"In less cultured words, yes."

"Fuck you man," he said flipping me the bird. "I'm John by the way," he told Danielle. I watched as he put his hand into his pocket to pull out a tin. He packed it a couple of times and then offered it over to me.

I looked down at Danielle and she looked angrily at me but sighed and muttered a half-hearted, "Go ahead." I packed a comfortable pinch and then spat on the ground.

"This is good, what is it?"

"Strawberry," he murmured as he packed a lip of his own.

"You two are disgusting," Danielle said pulling away from me a little. I hugged her back tight to me.

"What are you doing tonight?" John asked.

"Nothing."

"Good. There's a little party at the frat house tonight. Probably just some beer pong with the brothers." I thought about it for a minute but then looked down at Danielle who was now trying her hardest to ignore me, which wasn't working to well considering I had her wrapped up in my arms.

"Not tonight man. Sorry."

"You pussy," he spat.

"This weekend though."

"You better," he warned just as the all clear bell rang. "Later guys," he said waving over his shoulder as he turned to go in. Danielle and I walked back to her room with her not saying a word to me the entire time.

"Why are you so mad?" I asked when we got back in. Dana had still not returned.

"You're smart. Figure it out," she said sitting on her bed and taking off her robe. I marveled at her athletic figure.

"But you said I could have one a day."

"Maybe I'd be more impressed if you actually skipped it for once," she said wrapping her arms around her knees. I picked up an empty bottle from a desk and spat into it. Danielle glared at me.

"It's tough! You said so yourself."

"Mike! I wanted twenty minutes to be alone with you, and you decide that rather than being intimate with me you'd throw in a dip."

"So its my fucking fault the bell rang?" She cursed under her breath and just shook her head.

"You're missing the point!" she yelled. I sat down on the bed next to her and she remained in place. When I tried to throw an arm around her she shrugged away. I tried apologizing but she wouldn't hear any of it. "I'm just gonna go," I said, trying my hardest not to get angry.

"Don't," she sighed. "It's not so much that I'm angry as extremely disappointed." I took out the lip and dropped it into the bottle. I tried again to wrap an arm around her. This time, she actually cuddled up closer and rested her head on my shoulder.

"Do you still wanna-"

"No," she said curtly. "Actually... I should probably get dressed."

"I'm not offended in the least." She rolled her eyes and hopped off the bed to pick up her clothes. She threw on a pair of pajama pants and a spaghetti strap top.

"Come here," she said, beckoning me closer to her. As I moved towards her she picked up her camera. "Smile," she said holding it away from herself and I. The flash blinded me momentarily.

"Let me see that," I said extending a hand in her direction.

"No!"

"Let me see it," I threatened.

"No!" I tackled her and began tickling her ruthlessly. "Stop! Stop," she gasped in between bouts of laughter. Despite her protests I continued, and when her grip on the camera strap weakened I snatched it from her. I took a picture of her curled up form, still holding her sides and laughing hysterically. She sat back up and gave me a kiss. "Ass," she teased.

"You in the mood yet?"

"Don't push it buddy," she said wrapping her arms around me. I gave her butt a playful squeeze. "Mike I'm serious. Stop."

"Alright, sorry. Party pooper."

"You blew your chance already big shot." Dana burst through the door, as energetic as I had ever seen her. "You're in an awfully good mood," Danielle said as Dana pirouetted around the room.

"When am I ever in a bad mood?" the vixen asked, cocking her head to the side.

"That's true," Danielle admitted. "But you're in especially high spirits... Why?" A large grin

spread across Dana's muzzle.

"Probably somethin' with a boy," I guessed.

"You'd be half correct," she said. I cocked an eyebrow.

"No way... A chick?" Dana began laughing hysterically. "What? What's so funny?"

"I'm just playing with you guys. Todd heard your radio thingy early and he asked me to go with him!" Dana giggled excitedly.

"Todd! Todd Seterton? He's so hot!"

"I know," Dana squealed. I coughed loudly to show my presence.

"Oh. Yeah... You're alright I guess." I puffed out my bottom lip in a pout. "I'm just kidding baby," Danielle smiled. I let out a huff and looked away from her. "Awww. I know what would make you forgive me," she said kissing my cheek. I looked at her with more hope than I probably wanted to show. "But not tonight." I glared at her and Dana started laughing.

"Don't encourage her."

"And I told you so," Danielle said out of nowhere.

"Told me what?" I asked.

"That people would listen to you!"

"It's one person. I wouldn't get your hopes up too high."

"Well at least it's one person. And besides, he invited Dana. Now it's two," she countered. I shrugged and Dana nodded in agreement.

"So what are we gonna do now?" Dana asked.

"How about poker?" Danielle suggested.

"Poker... What are we betting?"

"Our clothes," Danielle said coyly. Dana blushed heavily, but I was intrigued.

"Alright. Let's deal the cards then. Are you gonna play Dana?"

"Umm..." she hesitated, her face still a rosy red even through her fur. "Yeah... Why not right?"

"That's the spirit." Danielle picked up a pack of playing cards from under a pile of rubbish on her desk and cleared a spot on the floor for us to sit. I shuffled the cards and offered them to Dana so she could cut them. "Are you going to cut them?" I asked, when she sat there looking puzzled.

"Cut?"

"Just pick up a certain amount of the cards and put it next to the rest. To prevent cheating," I winked over at Danielle who shot me a dirty look back. I dealt the cards and looked at the other two as they examined their own hands. Each asked for three cards. I took two.

"I fold," Danielle said tossing her cards into the burn pile.

"I'm gonna go all in," I said. Dana looked at me and then back down to her own hand. She showed Danielle her cards and I saw she started nodding vigorously.

"I'll call."

"That's bullshit! You can't help her!"

"I sure can," Danielle said with a smug smile. "Otherwise we're not playing."

"Fine. I've got you beat anyway. Flush. Ace high," I said proudly throwing my cards in the center.

"Four two's," Dana said. My mouth dropped so far open I was scared it might hit the floor.

"What.... How..." I stammered, unable to find the words to form a complete sentence.

"You know the rules. Pay up. I believe you went all in." I shed off my clothing slowly, still unable to believe my luck.

"You've got to be kidding me," I said as I took off my boxers. Dana looked quickly but then turned away just as quickly. Danielle on the other hand sat with a look of amusement on her muzzle as the final garment was removed. "What do you look so happy about. You still folded. That's a piece too."

"Fine," Danielle shrugged, slipping off her spaghetti top, leaving her in her bra. "Dress up there stud. I think we've all seen what we wanted too."

"What? We played one hand!"

"Yeah and you lost," Dana giggled. I redressed and glared at the two of them as Danielle put her top back on.

"Don't be a poor sport, Mike. No one likes a sore loser."

"I'm gonna kill the two of- Wait a minute... Danielle turn around." She did and confirmed what I thought I had seen. What's this?" I said tracing red markings that were on her lower back. She shivered a little from the touch. "Is this a tattoo? Specifically, a tramp stamp," I said smugly while examining the tribal patterns in red that Danielle had against the grey of her back. About ten years had passed since they had first figured out how to change with dye the hair of morphs. The method they used caused it to always grow back into the specific patterns and colors that they requested, so it was permanent.

"Don't you dare..." she warned

"Remember the rhyme I have for them! Tramp stamps, the more you see them the more you-"

"You better not finish that," she hissed threateningly.

"What's wrong with tattoos? I have one too," Dana said exposing the lowest part of her midriff by pulling down the top of her pants. A small black tattoo of a heart with a snake, fangs bared and coiled around it, stood out against the white of the fur on her stomach and inner thigh. I let out a cat call and Dana quickly blushed and pulled her pants back up.

"That's pretty cool but I have to ask, what's with the snake?"

"It's kind of a religious thing," she said shyly.

"Oh?"

"Yep..."

"Well what's it mean?" Danielle asked.

"Well the heart is a symbol of love. The snake is the tempter, the Devil if you will. It kinda means that one shouldn't get tempted by materialism and stuff and fall in love for the wrong reasons. Also, that one shouldn't give into any unholy urges performed outside of matrimony," Dana finished, now a deep crimson color to match her fur. I tried my hardest to stifle a snicker and Danielle hit me hard. "It's kind of stupid I know," she said somewhat dejectedly, her head hanging low.

"Dana, Mike's an asshole if you already hadn't figured that out," she said glaring at me. "I think it's awesome that you'd choose to wait until you're really in love."

"Really?"

"I wish I had waited. Particularly since I lost my innocence to a jackass." It was hard to tell

if she was actually mad or just joking. Dana look confused as well. "I'm kidding," she clarified. Dana let out an awkward chuckle and then a drawn out silence fell over the room.

"I'm gonna go get ready for bed," Dana said gathering together her toiletries.

"Yeah I'm gonna hit the hay too," I said standing up and stretching.

"You're not going to stay here?"

"Nah, I think Dana's had enough of me for one night. You're welcome to come back with me though." Danielle thought for a second and then nodded.

"I'll come. Night Dana," she said as we left the room. I waved at her over my shoulder.

"Mike," Dan said as Danielle and I entered my own room. "Evan was looking for you earlier. Hey Danielle," he greeted when he saw she was with me. He was holding his pride and joy, a hand crafted acoustic guitar which his grandfather had made for him when he was a boy. The guitar itself may have been a work of art, but the music he could play on it went beyond comprehension. I would stop just short of calling it divine.

"Why didn't he just call?"

"I don't know. I think he wanted to show you something." I shrugged and sat down at my desk chair. Danielle made herself comfortable on my bed.

"How was your test?" I asked.

"Good. You're prayer technique helped I guess," he laughed as he picked at a few chords.

"You can learn a lot from me," I winked. Dan broke out into a magnificent riff.

"How long have you been playing for?" Danielle asked.

"Since I could hold onto it. My grandpa taught me everything I know."

"Do you play anything else?"

"The piano, but I haven't touched one in a couple of years."

"Can you play Hotel California?"

"Easy as cake," he said starting to break out into the rhythm of the song. I watched as his foot tapped along to the beat. Danielle began to sing along. "That was amazing," Dan said as he finished. "Your voice is beautiful."

"Really? Thanks," Danielle blushed, her ears flattening down to her head.

"I've never heard you sing like that before," I said in awe. "Where'd you learn that from?"

"Daddy plays every now and then. I would just sit with him and sing for hours."

"Anytime you want to come over go right ahead. The only voice I ever hear is my own... And Mike's, but I'm sure you know what that's like."

"God I do," Danielle laughed.

"Hey, my voice is on par with some of the greatest singers out there."

"Please," Dan said holding back a laugh. "You couldn't carry a tune in a bucket."

"I could too! Mine just has a hole in it."

"A big one," Danielle chuckled. I got up and sat next to her on the bed. She grabbed a hold of my hand and intertwined her fingers with my own. I gave them a light squeeze.

"I had no idea you were so talented."

"Stop. I'm not really," she said blushing again, her ears once again going down to her head and her gaze moving from me to the floor.

"Honestly that was amazing," I said lifting up her chin and leaning over to give her a kiss. She ended up wrapping her arms around me and dragging me down with her to the bed. I saw Dan look away out of the corner of my eye. Feeling guilty, I got up from on top of her. Danielle sat back up as well and snuggled herself up next to me. I placed my hand on her knee. "Play something else."

"Like what?"

"I don't know. You know any other songs?" I asked Danielle.

"I know a lot of Fleetwood Mac." Dan looked at the ceiling as he pondered over what he could play.

"I'm not sure if this is them but..." He began playing a song I recognized as 'Never Going Back Again'. Danielle's ears perked up immediately and she began to sing, her tail swaying along slowly behind her. "Unbelievable. You really are great." I nodded vehemently in agreement.

"Alright that's enough for tonight," Danielle said wrapping her arms around her legs. I threw an arm around her shoulders and she rested her head against me. Dan fiddled around with a couple more strings before resting the instrument against his desk. He stood up and stretched.

"I'm beat," he yawned.

"Yeah. Me too," I yawned back in agreement. Funny how contagious yawning is.

"You have class early tomorrow right?"

"Yeah. Eight."

"You wanna call Evan and run before hand?"

"Nah. We'll just go later."

"Alright. I'll be back in a sec." He left with his toothbrush. I kissed Danielle passionately as

soon as he was out of sight.

"Mmm, what was that?" she moaned.

"Just surprised you're beautiful and talented," I joked. She rolled her eyes and then kissed me again. She began stroking through my hair. "Want me to make you sing a different tune?"

"Mike..."

"Just a friendly warning dearest. Lemme get up so I can join the party and get ready for bed too."

"You're going to leave me?" she asked with big puppy-dog eyes.

"Pretty much," I said standing up.

"Fine," she sighed with false discontent. I rolled my eyes at her as I too walked out of the room.

"She's quite the catch," Dan said when he noticed I had entered the bathroom.

"Definitely. I honestly don't know how I stayed sane so long without her." Dan laughed heartily at that. "What?" I asked angrily.

"Oh come off it, Mike. It's not like there hasn't been a seemingly endless number of girls that have kept you occupied just since I've known you! Obviously you couldn't have missed her too much. I can almost guarantee that in the next couple of weeks you'll get bored with her and toss her out like all the others."

"I will not," I growled softly, though I wasn't sure who I was trying to convince, myself or him. Could I have really gotten that bad?

"I hope for her sake you don't," he said, his eyes narrowing a little in almost a threatening gesture. I returned his stare with an icy one of my own. "She deserves better than that."

"I won't," I said as defiantly as I could, though my voice definitely wavered. But suddenly a deep anger brewed up inside me and bubbled out to the surface. "And how the fuck do you know huh? You barely even know her!"

"Don't get mad man! I'm just saying-"

"Just saying what? That you want to let me know that as soon I get rid of her you'll be there to pick up the pieces? You're looking forward to that aren't you?"

"Mike... How could you say that?" Dan asked, genuinely looking hurt. "I love Jack and would never do that to him." I saw tears forming in his eyes. As quickly as it had surfaced, my anger sank back to the icy depths from which it had came.

"Dan I'm so sorry," I said hugging him tightly. "I'm such a fucking idiot... I don't know what came over me."

"It's okay," he said softly while patting me gently on the back. For the first time in ages I cried like a baby. I don't really know why, but it felt good to be able to let it out. Thank god it was late, to guys hugging in the bathroom with one of them bawling their eyes out would give way to quite the rumor. "What's wrong?" he asked after I had finished.

"I'm scared," I said in a voice barely above a whisper.

"Of what?" he asked, clearly confused.

"That you're right. That in a couple of weeks I will get bored of her and end up tossing her aside after adding another notch to the bedpost. She was my best friend, and now she's my girlfriend. I couldn't live with myself if I ever did that..."

"Mike. You'll be fine. You two seem to get along better than Romeo and Juliet could ever hope to, and you know I'll always be there to help you out if you need it. Now clean yourself up, you look like shit!" I rolled my eyes and punched him on the arm.

"Thanks man... You're a good friend and there's no reason I should have, should ever," I corrected, "Talk to you like that. I'm really sorry."

"Dude, don't go going all gay on me now, then Danielle will really have something to worry about."

"Well I am quite the looker," I said flexing in the mirror.

"Easy there stud, or you'll turn green and rip through you're shirt." I chuckled as I finished getting ready for bed. I turned to him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Thanks again."

"Hey, what are friends for right?"
