Yes, I remember vivid moments now,
We talked and drank into the misty dawn,
I even hear the voices as we ran
By water's side on wettest summer lawn.
I see the footprints as I remember.
I feel the way you were, the way you would,
And tried to believe everything I should,
But as you know it isn't any good.
This is something that can't be understood.
No, I remember all the shouts of joy,
When skiing fast through all those open woods,
I also hear the echoes when I learned
Your love for life, I felt the way you would,
And your presence, I remember so well.
I feel the way you were, the way you would,
And I find it just can't be understood.
And I try to believe, but it's no good,
To remember is only thing I could.
And then suddenly you were simply gone,
From all those lives you'd left your mark upon.
