The tentacles snake up to try and grab my head.

Claws with nasty edges scratch across the wooden floor -

The grating sound signifies his intent to gore

How can I sleep knowing I might not make it to dawn?

I think this should explain my feeling so withdrawn.

So we can rest more easily?

Mother, there's a monster living in my closet, too,

Beside the dirty laundry - you will find this true.

Lair made of dirty socks it has been known to make -

The shifting in its nest is keeping me awake.

Will I ever be able to look into that space?

I'm sure you could make it vanish without a trace.

Mother, please come help me

For I'm too scared to move right now.

Mother, there's a monster at the basement stairs, as well:

It almost got me last time when I slipped and fell.

Sticky puddles made of drool are pooling on the rug -

I'm sure I've seen it clearly, it looks like a bug.

Do you think you could remove it from that place for me?

It won't take too long, just put down your cup of tea.

Mother, can you help me

I'm just so very afraid here.

Mother, there's a monster sitting on my window sill,

It stares at me and waits for chance to have its fill.

Shrieking like the midnight wind, though it's the real culprit -

I bet it wants to do whatever it sees fit.

Won't you check outside for me since I want to sleep?

I promise after this I will not make a peep.

Mother, hurry! Help me!

The terror is too much for me.

Mother, there's a monster that lumbers around the house;

So silent do I tred - just like a little mouse.

Lashing tongue of hate keeps me in check at every time

And still I have not figured out my vicious crime.

Why can't things be peaceful whenever I stay at home?
