Moonlight Lovers
#11 of Poetry
A piece for the love I see around me. May those without be found by Lady Destiny~
Oh, ballad of old
Telling tales so oft told
Grace us with your stories once more
Of a time that has come and gone; existing no more
A quiet story of a young and tender love
Pure and gentle as the moon high above
Two young souls
Tied together by the red ribbon of fate
To be drawn to one another
At the perfect time on the most exact date
Two young souls
Reined in by the gentle finger of Lady Destiny
To come together in meadow of youth
And to gaze upon one another longingly
Quietly, they approach one another,
One speaks to the other,
Hushed and hurried
His eyes flitting about
In a dance of worry
The other simply lifts his finger
Allowing a moment for his gesture to linger
As they become fixated on one another
Remembering the age old bond they had formed,
Matched by no other
Friends of a time not too distant
The warm feelings of joy still reminiscent
Waltzing to the gentle tune of time
The unspoken question on their lips:
"Can I be yours if you will be mine?"
They stand there a moment
Gazing lovingly, their eyes speaking the unspoken
Like a token of trust between the two tender hearts
Hand in hand, they go
Their feet gently carrying them to the natural flow
Of their courtship's dance;
With elegance and ease, they sway
Steps like a gentle breeze and warmth like a late spring's day
Their love blooms beneath the light of the moon
The beautiful blossom quietly singing its lover's tune,
Serenading the two reunited souls
And as their dance comes to a close
Before they part until a next time, unbeknownst
They tenderly kiss, their hearts becoming one in the sublime, emotional bliss
"Forever and always, I will be yours", speaks one
"Always and forever, I will be thine", speaks the other
Forever connected by their hearts red ribbons
To stand by one another; destiny's eternally bound lovers
