Authors notes: This one pop in my head on day as I read about this pokemon. I figure to try something different. I like the whole idea that it lives because it drains the lifeforce of living things to live. Sorat like a vampire yet I see it as less messy. Still Friends can be found even if you are immortal.

A umbreon and a absol run through the hills in the shadow pf the moutains. Laughing as they run between the tree line and high grass.
"Ok Ok you win" Pants the umbreon. As the absol makes it to a high rock that is in the middle of area. The absol smiles down at the exhausted looking umbreon.
"That's right I win and you lose again Jin." The absol sticks it chest out proudly. Jin just glares at the his friend as he tackles him off the rock. Both roll though the grass until the umbreon is able pin the absol. " I win Gabriel." Jin's rings glow brightly.
Gabriel just huffs as he shoves the umbreon off of him. "Yeah yeah." He rolls on his back and looks to the sky. " Do you think we could ever fly in the sky like those sperrow or pidgey Jin?"
Jin gets up and looks to the sky as he shakes his head. " You have these wild dreams that we could fly." Jin sits on his haunches as he flails a bit with his fore legs." We can't fly. We have no feathers or wings . We have legs."
Gabriel sighs in defeat as his friend states the truth. As much as he would like to fly as the birds in area. He was bound to the ground. He felt that it was unfair that he was stuck on the ground. He wanted to soar thru the air with nothing holding him to the ground one of the more reasons he love coming to the mountains/ So he could get as high as he could to touch the sky. Gabriel reach his claw paw out as if to touch the clouds. When he felt something heavy land on his stomach. He looks to see Jin trying to curl up on him.
"I am not your damn bed now get off!" Huffs Gabriel as he tries to push the stubborn umbreon off of him.
"Tough you are soft and plushy. You're now my bed." Jin snuggles on the absol.
"Are you saying I am FAT!" Gabriel shouts at Jin.
Jin looks at him with a chessy grin on his muzzle . "Yes." As he proceeds to fall asleep.
Gabriel just rolls over making the umbreon yelp in surprise and fall off.
After tumbling to the ground Jin glares at Gabriel. " I was tired and you are warm and comfy."
"Tough sleep on the ground better yet when we get back home your sleeping on the other side of the cave. "
Gabriel leaves his slack jaw friend alone as he heads up higher to get closer to his dream.
Yes he was born an absol yet he dreams of the day he could fly were always dashed by reality. Hhell he would trade it all for a day to fly in the sky just to feel the wing through his fur.
He climbs the mountain side as if it was nothing. Something his kind was good at. Absols were always seen as doom bringers. Yet he never brought anything to anyone. Well expect to Jin as fluffy pillow as he would say. That crazy umbreon who he has been with friends for nine seasons. It was a weird friendship they had. It wasn't like he didn't have others he could friends with. He had his pack and many other mon of the land to be friends yet he like being with Gabriel. Saying it was fun to be with him. They had many adventures together and many losses yet they have stuck together through thick and thin.
Yet the one thing Gabriel had wanted was to fly. Jin would laugh at him saying that no matter how hard he flapped or evolve they would not fly.
Though Jin said on occasion that he wish he pick that fire stone it would make winter around here more bearable or that he should have evolve into a glaceon. Gabriel would just laugh as he knew that Jin had it easy on a sense. He had a chocie to change at one point. Gabriel never would change. He grew up as he was always going to be. An absol. Not to say that he isn't happy how he is. Yet he will never know what it is like to chang from one form to another.
Still Gabriel would give anything to soar in the sky just once and look down at the ground below and see the land pass him by, as a sperrow once told him. He sighs knowing it is a fantasy.
A voice catches his ear as he turns to see who is yelling his name. He sees Jin running up to him in panic.
"Gab Gab you got to see this I never seen a bird this big before and I don't think it is Ho-oh." Jin says panting hard.
Gabriel hates when he calls him Gab and Jin knows that. It really must be something to make him call him by that name. At that moment a loud crash is heard in the distance. It seems that what was seen has landed hard. Both leave to see what it was.

Yveltal hated everything. No matter where he went everyone hated him always hunted him because what he did. It wasn't his fault that he had to live this way. He never asked for this. He was just made this way. If anyone was to blame it was Arcues was to blame. Yet he was consider a spawn of Darkrai. Ha as if that fool could spawn anything but stupidity . The pain was intense on his right wing. The arrows seem to stick in his wing as if they became part of his wing. He wanted to get them off yet he was afraid they were still following those foolish knights and their stupidity they brandish so much.
So many legends were told about Yveltal. Most lies spread by the foolish humans who didn't understand his power. Saying his power stole the life of anyone he crossed. As if he was some kind of vampire from the human fairy tales. Vampires as he had heard drank blood. He took th life-force of someone, or living things around him when it was time. Yveltel only needed to do that every thousand years, Not weekly as these humans seem to think he needed to. He could do it to heal injuries that he recived. Yet he didn't need to take much for that. As he had store much over the centuries. Yet now he was in extreme pain now as he beat his wings with those humans weapons sticking out his wing. He got most of them off his wings yet pieces still were there. H would love to land and take a bit of the lands power to heal but he was afraid they were behind him. He didn't know when they show up or how long it would take to heal from the land.
So the legends of his horrors which he brought to the lands spread. Many instances were blamed on him. The fall of the Kali kingdom was blamed on him. Hell he was only there to see the festival they had at the kingdom that year. Even though it was humans who caused the destruction of the kingdom. It was humans saying he was the main reason the kingdom fell. Yet it seem to make the legends of his power to grow out of control. If he did destroy the kingdom he thought there would be nothing left of anything. Yet the destruction they describe of the kingdom was not his. His power took all and left little behind but dust.
He cannot keep going as his wing is on fire. He just wants to sleep and rest if he can. Yet he does not know how far behind those knights are . Then his body gives up not wanting to go any further. Gravity does the rest as he falls from the sky to the ground below. He feels the branches snap at his rapid decent as he finally slams into a great oak tree to stop his forward monition. He hit's the ground with a loud thud. He wants to succumb to the pain and darkness to sleep and rest. Yet he still fights it trying to move once more.
Then he hears it voices. The knights already he begins to panic. Yet the voices don't seem to be speaking the human language . They were pokemon of the forest. Maybe they thought he was food. Maybe that was a better fate to be of the cycle of life of this world to be someone's dinner . Better to help someone for once then being blamed for someone's misery.
Then he hears a voice clearly. What he hears is not what he expected to hear.
"Can we keep it?"

Gabriel and Jin run towards the trees where the dust was settling at. Many other mon of the forest were running away from. Some how it seem that it was weird to run towards trouble. Yet he sense nothing. The one thing Gabriel did enjoy about being a absol was the ability to sense danger. Yet he felt nothing as they got near the site of the crash. Still it perk his curiosity to see what this large mon that fell from the sky. How could something so big just fall from the sky it baffle Gabriel. Some birds were only taken down by an electric type. Yet here something was taken down hard. Finally he stops and sees the larges beast. Well Jin was right it wasn't Ho-oh
Looking at it seem to be a creature out of someone's nightmare. Its reptilian like skin color was red over it's body with dark lines over it's body. It had a grayish mane to it. It seem to have giant talons on each of it's wings . Also it's tail seem to have the same the same talons. It also seem to have two giant horns on it's head. This was a unique creature indeed. For someone to take it down like that was nothing short of amazing. Gabriel marvel over the majestic body. Then he notices the arrows on its wings. Hd felt sorry for this creature as he thought how the humans always hunted many other mon in the forest. Taking some to enslave them. Also others to kill for food or furs. Still it felt wrong to see a creature like this being hunted as it was. Then Jin had to speak.
" Can we keep it?"
Gabriel sighed at the stupidity of his friend.
"It's still alive. That means we can keep it. DIBS!!" Walking around the great beast. Jin begins to try and pull the arrows out of it.
"Ow damn it. If your going to eat me then don't make it to painful. Just get it over with. " The great beast speaks.
Jin barks in surprise and runs behind Gabriel. Gabriel looks at the beast. "I am sorry for my friend is a bit hard headed at times. My name is Gabriel and this cowardly umbreon behind me is Jin. May I have your name?"
The beast sighs as he peers at them with his eye looking exhausted as it takes much strength to so any thing . "My name is Yveltal."
"Well Yveltal what happen to you it seems to humans wanted to kill you, did you steal from them or attack them? " Gabriel ask hoping that he won't offend him by asking him that question .
Yveltal struggles to move his wing as to try and move which only causes him to cry out in pain. The trees shake from his cry of pain as Jin and Gabriel both step back.
"Look Yveltal take it easy other wise you will make your injuries worst. Let me and my friend and I take care of your injuries." Gabriel says in a soft voice.
Yveltal struggles to look at Gabriel and his friend. He thinks about anytime in his long life anyone has ever offer to help him with anything. None it was something that has never happen in his long life. He was going to tell them to go away he didn't need anything from them. Yet deep down he wanted help he wanted some one to care about him. Not fear him.
" Please hurry I am being followed by some misguided humans who want me dead."
Gabriel smiles as he tries to take the arrows out with out causing much damage to his wings. He would breath frost onto them to make the arrow shafts brittle and the umbreon would shatter them making it easier to remove the the remains of the arrow. Causing little damage to Yveltal wings.
"So does this mean we can keep him?" Jin asked with a stupid grin.
"He is not something you can claim Jin."
"Yes he is I found him and I claim him so there." He sticks out his tongue at Gabriel.
Yveltal sighs but laughs at the absurdity of the two mon helping him. The umbreon wanted to claim him as a prize and the absol wanted to help an odd couple if he had ever meet one. Still he felt the arrows all but gone from his wing. He tries move his wing, it still hurts but not as much as before. He stands up taking the umbreon by surprise as he falls from his wing.
" Thank you I can take it from...uhg" Yveltal stumbles a bit trying to bring his wings out to balance himself. His head spins as he falls over. He still needs more time to recover. No the humans were not far behind needed more time to recover.
Gabriel looks at Yveltal worried. "Look Yveltel I know you look like you don't need help but let me and my friend help you . I know you need time to recover but you can't do that trying to fly so soon. You will not get far with your body in this shape."
Yveltal breathes heavily as he thinks of the words from the absol. He know he is right he needs time to recover. " I will take your help and stay with you but they will know I was here. I can't fly to where you live and my scent will be found easily."
Gabriel smiles " Jin find those skuntanks that we help a season ago have them leave their scent here. I know their trackers will love trying to find him now. Come Yveltal follow me Jin will join us soon as he is done here."
Jin watches the large avian beast stagger behind Gabriel. His tail drags as he looks out of place walking then again birds do not walk they fly. Jin sighs as he looks for the skuntanks.

They arrive at Jin's and Gabriel's home it is a cave on the side of the mountain. Lucky Yveltal was able to glide some of the way to their home. Yet it cost him as towards the end his wings gave out again and he crashed to the earth below. Gabriel tired his best to help the large avian. Yet the absol could do little to help as he was not as big as Yveltal . Yet his compassion made Yveltal feel better about many things. Espically about not being alone in this world that some one cared about him.
Gabriel looks at the exhausted avian " I'll find you some berries ok I know you must be hungry. I'll get some berries for you." He looks at the large avian. "Maybe a bush" Gabriel leaves as Yveltal to his thoughts as he lays on the ground. He could heal his body by draining the life force of land him around him. Yet he was afraid that Gabriel would comeback and become afraid of what he was doing or worst he would accidentally drain and kill the absol. No he would this time just heal normally and relax something he has not done in years.
He hears some rustling over his shoulder as he lifts his large head to see what it is and sees the absol dragging a giant berry bush be had ripped form the ground. He struggles to bring it over to Yveltal.
Yveltal smiles at the effort that Gabriel is going thru for him. He begins to rip the berries from the bush as Gabriel watches him. He stops and looks at the absol. " I assume you have a question for me?" Yveltal sighs thinking it will be about him and why the humans were hunting him.
Gabriel smiles "I do. I do. How does it feel when you are in the sky. Flying through the clouds. The wind ripping thru your body." Gabriel smiles at him as a new born pup waiting to hear the next story.
Yveltal is taken aback by this. " Uh well it is nice...I feel.. Like nothing can harm me. The wind is like a friend that travels with you where ever you go. When I beat my wings the speed I travel is un matched by many. I look towards the ground as it flies in a different direction I go. Yet I know it is standing still as I move forward. The freedom I feel is un.." he stops as he looks at the absol who looks like he is holding on every word that Yveltal says. " I am sorry to prattle on like that. " He looks away embarrassed .
"What do you mean? I want more please tell me more." Gabriel pleading.
Yveltal looks at Gabriel quizzical "Why are you asking me this Gabriel ?"
Gabriel looks away embarrassed by the question. " I always wanted to fly to fly thru the clouds as many birds do. To touch the sky with my own paws.." He looks towards the sky with a misty eye look. The sun sets as Yveltal sees the absol not wanting to cry yet he can see the tears under his eyes with the light of the setting sun and it pains his heart. For something he takes for granted seems to be a wonderful gift for someone who has never been there. That a kind soul like his yearns for and knows he can never have what others have.
"When I get better maybe I can let you ride my back and you can feel what I feel why I fly." He looks at Gabriel who's eye brighten up, as a smile comes across his muzzle .
Gabriel runs up to Yveltal and nuzzles him. " Oh thank you thank you it would mean so much to me."
Gabriel stops when he hears some noise from nearby as someone is coughing.
"Their I did it you owe me tonight bastard. I just got away before they stank up the place still smelt it down wind. Damn I am glad I was long gone before it reached my fur. You're my fucking bed tonight Gabriel. I am not taking no for an answer!" Shouts Jin.
Both Gabriel and Yveltal laugh at the angry umbreon.

~Days later ~
Yveltal stretches his wings letting the morning sun hit him. He takes in the warmth that it gives. It has been He test his wings as he begins to flap them kicking dust as he takes off into the air. He beats his wings with much power as they carry him higher into the air as he soars high thru the clouds as he feels the air begin to change as he goes higher. The air becomes thin and colder. Yet he enjoys the feeling as it feels good as he home once more. As mush as he felt good on the ground he feels great in the air. This is home.
With that he flies back towards Gabriel and Jin who both wait for their guest to return.
Gabriel who looks like an excited pup ready to go on an adventure.
Yveltal smiles at the absol. Something he has done little in his long life. " Aare you ready to go my friend?"
"YES!!" Yveltal lowers his body as the excited absol clamors onto his back. Yveltal looks at the umbreon. " And you little one?"
"Nope it is not my dream to be in the sky my dream is to find a nice galceon and bang her. You both go enjoy the ride I'll be fine."
Yveltal smiles as he looks at Gabriel on his back who gripping his mane tightly. "OK hold on tight my white fur friend." With a few beats of his wings he once more takes flight He soars into the sky as he hears the absol gasp in amazement as the sights he see. The feeling of the wing thru his fur. It was everything he thought it be and more. Gabriel shouts out in excitement as he plunges towards the ground only to pull up at the last moment. Yveltal smiles as he can hear the shouts of joy from Gabriel.
Yveltal smiles as he takes the absol higher to the clouds and above. For the first time in his life Gabriel smiles as he begins to cry as he sees the world he has always been denied. Yet now he is living his dream. He is having his dream come true.
Yveltal feels his tears. "Are you ok my friend?" He says worried.
Gabriel shakes his head, as he shouts out loud. " No I am overjoyed. Than you for giving me this gift that I could never have before. I think you." Gabriel buries his face into Yveltal's mane and nuzzles it as the dark avian smiles at this gift he has given to his friend.

"What do you mean you can't pick up the scent and why the hell do you all smell like something a skuntank shitted up?" A red armor warrior ask a squire who is with some mightyens who are rubbing their noses into the dirt as if they are trying to get something out of their noses.
" My lord when we arrived where it look like the beast landed the land was afoul with the horrid scent. Try as we might the hounds could not get a scent from the land. We are with out a clue where to go from here."
Another knight walks up behind the red one. "Look we should call it and head home. It does little for us to continue. We do not know if we have enter another kingdom's territory. We do not want to start a war now."
The red knight turns and glares at his fellow knight. " I will not abandon this holy quest we have received from arceus. We will hunt this demon down and kill it as it is our holy duty!"
Another knight comes up as he looks excited. " Well we are in luck we have spotted it the beast is near. It flies over yonder and if we hurry now we can catch it."
The red knight smiles "We will fulfill our duty to our lord and country. By arceus decree we will destroy the foul beast. Mount up and lets us take speed let our prey escape us." They mount rapidash and ride off to battle.

As soon as Yveltal lands Gabriel leaps off his back and runs up to the waiting Jin. The words spill out of of Gabriel's muzzle as he speaks so fast that Jin just nods thinking it would better to let him spill his guts and understand later. After a while speaking. Gabriel stops speaking. Yet it was not due to running out of things to say but because he was out of breath and look like he was turning blue. Jin for a brief second thought he would have to attack his friend to make him breath again.
" I am happy you had a good time. Just means I am still sleeping on you." Jin smiles as his fried confused look.
Yveltal smiles at his friend happiness. For once in his long life he was able to bring a smile to a friends face.
Friend a word he thought he never say. Yet here he had one. Well two if the umbreon stop trying to claim him as prize.
" I am happy you enjoy yourself Gabriel. Yet I think it is time I left. I do not want to chance it if the humans catch up to me. I would be better if I go. Please do not give me that look. I do not want to go from my friend. Maybe after some time I will return and I will take you to the skies once more."
This brighten up the absol quick. "When will you return then, soon I hope." his tail wags happily at the prospect of flying once more. Yveltal smiles at the absol." Do not worry my friend I will return I believe it is safe. I do not wish to cause you and your friend any trouble. don't looks sad my furry fried I promise the latest I will return will be early spring."
Gabriel smiles at the large avian as he steps back as the avian spreads his wings and takes flight once more. Both Jin and Gabriel watch Yveltal take flight after he is about to clear the tree line he is hit with many shadow balls and fire attacks.
Jin and Gabriel both look in horror as Yveltal plummet to the ground as he cries out in pain. Both run to where their friend fall back to the earth. They arrive to see many humans surround the great avian beast.
The red armor human shouts for them to end the monsters life. Gabriel looks in horror as they are about to kills his friend who has done nothing to them. Yveltal is entrapped in cables and ropes that keep him on the ground. With out thinking as his horn blade glows as he makes a slashing motion as he creates a energy slice in the air and hit's the knight nearest Yveltal . Jin sighs as he vanishes and hit's a random pokemon serving the humans . Despite their efforts they are over powered. Eventually the number of opponents over whelm them as they are taken down.
Gabriel feels the humans metal foot on his head as it begins to crush his head.
" You mongrels have no idea what this monster is. How dare you interfere with out holy cause. Once we kill it we will make sure you both suffer long before we end you. " He lifts his foot off his head then kicks him hard into his stomach as he sends Gabriel flying across the ground . As Jin is thrown onto Gabriel like a rag doll looking worse for ware.
Yveltal sees this as his vision goes red. They had done nothing to these humans. Yet they went out of their way to protect him and these foolish men are tying to kill his friends. How dare they.
"HOW DARE YOU FOOLISH MORTALS HARM MY FRIENDS!!!" He bellows his body begins to glow as he takes flight his injuries forgotten. " YOU WILL HARM NO ONE ANY MORE!!!!" He rises from the ground as the ropes and cables that restrain him begin to dissolve. With a flap from his mighty wings keeps the knights at bay. Then he lets the dark energy from his body reach out to the pokemon and humans alike it touches them as they try to fight it off to little avail. They all begin to scream as they slowly begin to turn to dust . One by one the color drains from their body as they become ash then nothing. The plant life also suffers the same fate. The area where the knights and pokemon were is charred black nothing behind but ashes. Yet the circle ends near Gabriel and Jin.
Yveltal recalls the dark energy as he lands once more. He sees Gabriel making sure Jin is ok as he looks more battered than Gabriel. " Please Jin speak to me. I don't want to lose you. " He cries out.
Yveltal looks sadden at this. He was the cause of all this. He knew no matter how much he wanted to be happy the world would not allow that to happen. With that he lowers his head, as he spread his wings to take flight.
A weak voice is heard before he takes flight. "Where..where do you thin...k your going bird brain. You better not break your promise to him. You belong to me." A raspy voice says to Yveltal.
Yveltal is surprised by Jin as he struggles to stand. " I didn't get my assed kick so you can go mope some where. You promised to show him the sky and also you belong to me anyway. You better get your sorry ass back here as you promised and let his see the sky again. "
Yveltal looks as he is about to cry as Gabriel is crying already nuzzling Jin saying to him that he will allow him to rest on him for now on.
Yveltal looks at Gabriel " DO you want me to come back so you can ride to the sky once more?"
Gabriel looks up at Yveltal and smiles. Yes I would like that."
Yveltal is about to say something to Jin and the umbreon holds up his forepaw weakly. " Don't say your sorry. It was not your fault what happen. Just promise me you will return. Other wise I will hunt you down myself." Jin scowls at Yveltal.
Yveltal nods as he smiles at them both. " I will return as I promised. Till we meet again my friends" He spreads his winds. And begins to take flight. As he soars off both watch their friend take off."

The winter snow has melted as the spring takes it's stance to control the land once more. A absol waits on rocky cliff as he looks to the sky. A umbreon comes up behind him followed by a eevee.
"Still waiting my friend?"
"Well you did say you would hunt him down if he didn't come." The absol smiles at the umbreon.
"Yes I did but I didn't think I find a mate. Still I believe he will come." The umbreon smiles.
The eevee looks at both mon. " Who are you both talking about?"
Jin looks at his daughter. "A friend who promised to take your uncle Gabriel to the sky."
The little eevee hops around" I wanna go.!" She runs around Jin.
"That will be up to your mother. I think you would have to ask her."
Gabriel smiles. "I think your still in trouble about that time you let her swim in the lake during the winter frost."
"Hush you. Also look to the sky." Jin nods towards the sky behind Gabriel.
The absol turns his head and smiles as he sees the dark shape in the sky get closer. As his dream to take flight does also. As promised he has return.
