#79 of Iron Dragon

Only Eitak had heard his comment. She looked up at the large dragon and would have sworn there were tears in his eyes. His cobalt eyes locked onto the tantalizing stone. His expression either sadness or anger, she really could not tell. "Something on your mind?"

"I said I would do anything. I would not stop looking." Nodrog spoke softly. Forgetting the others were in the room with him. "If she were to find out..."

Nightrunner was the only one who knew what Nodrog might be thinking. Everyone had stopped talking as Nodrog spoke out loud to himself. The group retreated several steps away as Nodrog slammed a fist into the floor and roared in anger.

They watched as a black light formed in his mouth and he did the unthinkable. Nodrog used dark light cannon to destroy not only the transmutation circle, but the stone that lay in the center of it as well. The dark beam gouged a deep trough threw the floor and when it hit the stone, caused an explosion as all the power in it was instantly released.

That was not all as they pleaded for him to spare the books and artifacts in the basement. Nodrog's anger was not quelled until everything was turned to slag or vaporized. He also got rid of the dead littering the floor.

"Leave. Now." Nodrog grumbled.

They only nodded in agreement and silently returned to the main floor of the castle. Nightrunner assured them everything would be alright, and he would stay to talk to Nodrog. When the dragon was ready to talk.

However, minuets turned to hours. It had grown late and Nightrunner needed to head for home. The elf was unsure of what to do, so he found a mirror to see if he could reach Dallarth. She was home and after a brief conversation agreed to come.

Dallarth arrived in her false from and Nightrunner bowed slightly. "I take it he is still down there."

Nightrunner shrugged. "I have not heard him move."

"I will see what I can do." Dallarth said and headed to the stairs. He was still down there, she could feel his lingering anger and sadness.

The smell of death still hung in the air, now accompanied by the unmistakable ozone from either fire or dark light cannon burning everything. Earth elementals were big, heavy creatures. With strength and fortitude unmatched by the other elements. Dallarth moved as silently as shadows, her foot steps could not be heard by even the most sensitive of ears. Shadow elementals had no scent, they never left foot prints, even in the softest snow.

Dallarth had to focus her power to spread a tangible presence that others could sense. She did not pause as he spoke to her.

"I do not want company at the moment." Nodrog grumbled and looked back at her.

Dallarth smiled. "You will have to take that up with Nightrunner another day. He is worried about you."

"That is a first." Nodrog said.

"He told me what happened." Dallarth said and sat on a ruined pedestal. "You are not alone anymore."

Nodrog looked down at her. "I know. But only one other monster is equal to me."

"This is not something strength alone can help you with." Dallarth said calmly. "I know it is about Alice."

Nodrog growled. "You should leave."

"No. Let me try and help." Dallarth said firmly.

"You would not understand!" Nodrog yelled.

Dallarth kept her eyes on him as her shadow magic smashed a half ton stone against his head. "Do you think you are the only one to fall in love with a mortal that you cannot save!" Dallarth yelled back and took on her true form.

"I understand more than you might ever know!" Dallarth roared.

He had not expected her to hit him with anything. However the shock knocked a little sense back into him. "You are right, I should not have lost my temper. It is just so frustrating."

Dallarth lowered her guard slightly. "Trust me I understand what you are going through. I know what it is like to feel helpless as an illness takes someone special from your life."

Nodrog crossed his fore arms as he laid down. "What good is all of this power, if it cannot save someone so small?"

"I do not know. You and I helped forge worlds, took ignorant races and helped guide them. You commanded the largest army ever known and protected worlds from darkness." Dallarth said.

"Then I went mad..." Nodrog said and looked at Dallarth. "I have killed so many in this life."

"Perhaps that is the reason for your frustration. It is easier to snuff out a life than to keep it living." Dallarth said crushing a stone in her hand.

"That is also true. It is a shame no other living creature is as enduring as us earth elementals. We have no need for clean air or water. Injuries heal quickly just by touching the ground." Nodrog said and picked up a stone in his hand. "Humans are so fragile, and weak. They succumb to sickness easily. Injuries take time to heal, and it does not take much in either direction for them to get frostbite or heat stroke."

"The Velopians are equally as frail. I wonder what he would have thought of current events..." Dallarth mussed.

"A recent he, or someone from your younger age?" Nodrog asked.

Dallarth smiled. "I was but a young dragon at the time, only in my fourth century. He was in his mid thirties, a shaman by the name of Idalis Javan. I had only been on the Velopian world for two decades at the most, and it was a long time before medicine would even have a name for what took him from me..."

"I am sorry to hear that. What happened if I may be so bold?" Nodrog said.

"He had what the Velopians call spinal fusion. As he aged the vertebra in his spine grew together..." Dallarth had to pause, she could still clearly remember his cries of pain.

"It causes minor pain and discomfort at first but, eventually he would lose all of the flexibility in his spine... I was with him late one night, trying to ease his pain. And he asked for the one thing I said I could not do." Dallarth said softly. More than a thousand years and it still hurt.

"I tried to talk him out of it, but he was in so much pain and it would only get worse. In the end it wasn't the illness that killed him. I took his life because he asked me too. Because I loved him so much and I could not refuse his request." Dallarth looked away.

"People think our lengthy life spans are a blessing... If only they really knew." Nodrog said quietly.

Both dragons looked to the stair well as one of the shadows appeared and of all people, Roslyn stepped out from the shadow. The raven winged otter visibly reacted to the smell. "I thought Nightrunner said there would be no fighting."

"He did, this is not from any fight. This is, well lets leave it at another mess Glados left for me." Nodrog said.

"You should hire some housekeepers then. I thought you were with the council?" Roslyn asked.

"I was, they had some questions and I answered them. In the process I learned Glados was sacrificing people to make a philosophers stone." Nodrog said and gestured to the ruined floor and stone work. "This is what is left."

Roslyn shrugged. "Okay. If that's done are you coming back? Stacy has something important to tell you."

Nodrog chuckled. "I already know about their engagement."

"Wait, how do you know that? They didn't tell anyone until after you left." Roslyn said as the two dragons stood up.

"Because Randy and I talked about it two weeks ago." Nodrog said and nudged Roslyn up the stairs with his snout. "Plus I cheated and was reading her mind when he asked."

"You don't have to push..." Roslyn grumbled and spread her wings before he could nudge her again. "Was she that big of a bitch or is there a reason this place is so fuckin big?"

"Well she was a colossal bitch. However this castle was built for dragons and is sized correctly." Dallarth said.

"I wonder..." Nodrog mused aloud and stopped at the doors he had splintered.

Roslyn and Dallarth watched as he used a combination of magic and alchemy to not repair the doors, but to make a solid wall in their place. Nodrog smiled "That will do nicely. Why don't the two of you head to the ranch and let the others know I will be a little longer."

"Since when am I invited to others events?" Dallarth asked.

"You can hold my place at the table for the card game. Besides, do you have anything else to do?" Nodrog asked as he looked for another exterior doorway.

Dallarth smiled. "No, I was only going to relax with a book. Do I get to play with your money?"

"Of course." Nodrog said and started off down the hall.

"What are you going to do?" Roslyn asked as Dallarth took her false form.

Nodrog glanced back. "I am going to permanently lock up, before I leave."

Alice and Jenny were surprised to see the dark haired beauty, Dallarth instead of Nodrog with Roslyn. Roslyn introduced her as a mutual friend of Jenny and hers.

"So what is he doing now?" Alice asked as Dallarth picked up Harley to fawn over the baby.

Roslyn took a seat at the table. "Sealing off an old house, to keep people out."

"I am guessing Glados' place." Jenny said as she shuffled the cards. "Are you familiar with poker, Dallarth?"

"I know of at least eight different versions." Dallarth said with a smile and pulled out a few silver coins. "Sorry but these will have to stand in, until Nodrog shows back up."

"Are those solid silver?" Curtis asked.

Dallarth handed one to him. "They are ninety eight percent silver and two percent tungsten. The tungsten helps them last longer."

Alice giggled. "I don't think Roslyn explained it well enough. We aren't playing for that much money."

"Actually, this isn't that much. Maybe dinner for one at a short order place." Dallarth said.

"Short order?" Stacy asked as she and Randy sat at the table.

Dallarth raised an eyebrow. "You don't have places where you order at a counter and it be ready in a few minutes?"

"Oh, fast food. So that would get you a sandwich, fries and a drink." Randy wondered what road food would be like on other worlds. His friend Chuck gave directions using restaurants as major land marks.

"Exactly like that. I have found it incredible how different worlds can be, yet how incredibly alike they can also be. Things like sports and gaming are similar. Alice competed with women of vast cultural differences, but they all found common ground easily." Dallarth said and cheated slightly by peeking inside of Jenny's head for the terminology for the current game. Along with the slightly different card values.

Dragons and the few other races that can read minds are generally not allowed in gaming halls. Since there was no way to prove if they were cheating or not. Many have tried to come up with devices or magic trinkets to keep it from happening. Generally most worry about more important things when in the company of dragons, like being eaten. Although that is now frowned upon by civilized society.

Roslyn and Dallarth were still a little worried about Nodrog's mental state. It is a little surprising more people are not worried about it. The card game simply kept that from being in the front of their minds. Dallarth actually liked the social contact after her and Nodrog's more saddening discussion earlier in the castle. Perhaps she would accept the handsome Velopians' request for a date.

Nodrog sealed up all the doors and windows on the ground floor. Triple checking to make sure. He also asked Azule to pass along to the other shadows, that the castle was off limits. There were other secrets in the castle that should stay secret. There apparently was no limit to Glados' depravity or ambition. Though her cruelty knew no bounds, there was simply no reason behind it.

Nearly half a million years and no reason for anything she did. Glados told the humans how to bond Nodrog with the Elf and Vampire. How to twist their forms into one vile monster. Glados engineered the events that bound him, and the events that broke him free from those bonds.

She created the Valkyrie, and two other sentient races. Glados killed two of them, and was unsuccessful on the third. That did explain why the Grays hated dragons so much. Since several dragons coddled them from their infancy and then tried to wipe them out.

"And they thought I was the insane one..." Nodrog said as he took a final look around. "In the end I was the only one who could stop her."

It was that moment a rather odd thought crossed his mind. What if Glados knew she was insane? Could Glados have put him through hell so he could stop her. When that seemed to be lost, maybe Black Blood was supposed to kill her... Her memories never suggested such, but it was clear she was desperately looking for an answer to a question she didn't know.

However as Nodrog stretched his wings in the cold mountain air on the ranch, maybe he knew what the answer was. It was snowing again and the animals only moved out of his way as he walked to the house. It was easy to tell they were having a good time since he could hear them outside. Randy was the only quiet one of the group. Nodrog smiled and changed to his false form so he could go inside and join them.

"Hey, there you are." Dallarth said with a coy smile and gestured to the rather large stack of poker chips in front of her. "On second thought, I don't think I will let you have your spot."

"She and Roslyn are cheating." Stacy grumbled and had her head laying on the table at her spot, playing with a lone poker chip.

Roslyn only chuckled. "No, you just are no good at poker."

Randy put his arm around Stacy. "Its okay, I still love you even if you stink at cards."

"Hey, you aren't doing much better." Stacy said.

"She has you there, you are only a dollar up on her." Nodrog said and noticed Alice and Jenny had not fared to well tonight. Actually the entire group seemed to have fared rather poorly except for Roslyn and Dallarth.

"Well tell him the good news." Alice said and stretched, it had gotten rather late.

"I heard congratulations are in order." Nodrog said and smiled. "I am happy for you both."

"How do you know that if you weren't here?" Curtis asked.

Nodrog only chuckled. "Randy and I talked about it two weeks ago, because he wanted help picking out a ring."

"I didn't know you were an expert in engagement rings." Stacy giggled.

"He's not, but since he is an earth dragon, I thought he could help anyways." Randy said and then smiled. "Plus I asked Sherman for ideas and he said ask Nodrog."

"So that's where you went off too. I was wondering what you were doing." Roslyn said.

"I will probably be spending a little more time off world. I should take care of some things before there are any more problems." Nodrog said with a smile.

"What about the race?" Alice asked as she and Jenny handed their money to Roslyn and Dallarth.

Nodrog chuckled. "Don't worry boss, I will be there."

"Thank you for letting me take his place for the game. I enjoyed it." Dallarth said as she stood up. She handed the money to Nodrog. "You just owe me."

"It was nice to meet you." Curtis and his wife said.

Dallarth bowed and faded away as she traveled back to her home. The following morning Randy was up early to help his parents take care of the morning chores. They were mostly done by the time everyone else was up and moving around. Jenny and Alice whistled loudly as Stacy got a very lengthy goodbye kiss from Randy.

After an hour drive to the tiny airport Roslyn and Stacy were going over preflight checks as everyone got settled into the small company plane they had borrowed. Mr. October was not flying anywhere for the holiday, so Roslyn asked if he would mind if they borrowed it. Might as well fly in style and luxury, even if she was stuck in the pilot's seat.

Nodrog met with Marko for dinner that evening. "Some things have come up, and I will need to be off world for a couple weeks."

Marko gave his drink a thoughtful sip. "Nothing to serious I hope."

"Just need to do some house cleaning. I had neglected to do it after the other problem was solved." Nodrog said and finished off the tall glass of ale he had.

"No matter, nothing is coming up that would require your presence. I forget that you have responsibilities far from this world." Marko chuckled.

"If you need anything, all three of them can get a hold of me. As much as I would like to avoid cleaning up other people's messes, I don't have much choice in this matter." Nodrog said.

"Funny I know just what you mean." Marko said with a sly smile.

"I figured you would understand. On to other topics, I know Alice is incredibly excited to run a full season. What are your thoughts on it?" Nodrog asked as their dinner showed up.

Marko gave it a little thought. "On one hand I am happy that I can make that happen for her. On the other, I just hope she is not disappointed at the outcome or it leaves a bad taste in her mouth and she decides to stop competing."

"I don't think you have to worry about her calling it quits. She is too competitive to throw in the towel." Nodrog said.

"Speaking of racing, are you going to be back for her next race?" Marko asked.

"Of course. I heard the Grays will have a driver there, so I look forward to Alice or Carly beating them at the very least." Nodrog said.

"Should we be concerned about them trying anything?" Marko asked.

Nodrog smiled. "No, because they know two of us typhoons will be attending. They may dislike the Velopians and humans, but they will not do anything that might cost them the support of their allies. Who also have drivers competing."

Chapter.

With last minute things taken care of, Nodrog packed a bag and teleported back to the home of the pure dragon... or so everyone had thought. It had not taken long for some of the brash younger monsters to refer to her as Glados the mad. It mattered little to Nodrog what they called her.

It would take days to do an inventory of the different rooms. He had to be careful and remove anything he did not want anyone finding out. Entire book cases were emptied and their contents burned. Experiments needed to be halted, or defused depending on what they were.

Then there were the bodies... The basement was not the only area with piles of dead. Nodrog was glad Inilth was kind enough to come to the castle and give the spirits that were stuck in this realm freedom to cross over. Those who had not been able to cross were thankful for the stone and iron dragons taking the time to free them.

With Inilth's help the two made sure all of the evil that had been in the castle was destroyed. Only then, did Nodrog turn the blocked entrances back to doors.

"I appreciate the help. Now I can let people in to take the rest away." Nodrog said.

"Glad I could help. Though I am curious about something." Inilth said as they stood outside of the castle for the first time in a week.

"What would that be?" Nodrog asked.

"Dallarth said you destroyed a powerful philosophers stone. Is that true?" Inilth asked.

"I did along with the two stones Lilith used in her attempt to kill me. They are an even fouler creation than I." Nodrog said.

"I am relieved to hear that. I am still working on an actual cure for Black Blood. Unfortunately progress has been slow and constantly hampered." Inilth said.

"My omega form is trying to work the process backwards to undo it. It is as you say, a slow and difficult task." Nodrog said.

"Are you sure you want to get rid of the castle? It is a little more accommodating to you than the human's buildings." Inilth said.

Nodrog looked back at the castle. "I am sure. I want nothing to do with Glados anymore."

Inilth smiled. "There is one other thing on my mind, I am curious about."

"Oh, what is that?" Nodrog asked.

"In case you have not heard, Dallarth accepted the advances of a young Velopian after months of turning him down. What did the two of you talk about that would have changed her mind?" Inilth asked and watched Nodrog carefully.

Nodrog chuckled. "Just life."

"It is good that the two of you have moved passed certain events. I suppose I will see you on the Salak home world for the upcoming race." Inilth said.

"Of course, I am still on Alice's pit crew." Nodrog said. After Inilth left Nodrog made the appropriate arrangements to let the council and hunters go through the castle before the items went on sale.

With that done, he could return to earth. Where a certain raven winged otter was a little demanding of his attention. Of course her lack of tact and grace was one of her endearing traits, at least to him. Roslyn did not own lingerie, however just a button up shirt, mostly unbuttoned and barely covering her lovely assets was more tantalizing. Granted part of the allure was her messy hair and attitude that went along with it.

"You can read the paper later, I want you, right now." Roslyn said and yanked the news paper out of his hand a coy little smile on her lips.

"I get the feeling you missed me..." Nodrog said and put his hands on her firm ass and pulled her closer.

Roslyn's smile grew. "You have been gone for three weeks, and we didn't have much privacy out on the ranch... Plus it's your fault for being so good at it."

"Maybe we will have to do something about that." Nodrog said softly before kissing her while his fingers found out she was not wearing panties. She moaned softly as his fingers teased her clit and vulva.

"mmmm that is better." Roslyn sighed as the tips of two of his fingers went inside of her. She rolled her hips slightly to get them further inside of her. However he didn't exactly play very nice keeping just the tips inside. The harder she tried, the more he held back.

His eyes glowed playfully as he purposefully withheld more from her. It wouldn't be fun to give into Roslyn or Alice and Jenny's demands to easily. Why not make them work for it a little? The way they begged for more without speaking a word, their soft moans, and trembling bodies aching for more. Their sexual release so close, and yet so far at the same time.

Roslyn moaned a little louder as his fingers reached further into her. The metal scales teasing every part of her. The soothing warmth his body radiated from being so close. And that lustful hunger that words simply could not convey. The slight electric tingle and coppery taste on his tongue, and the tenderness he used all over her body. She knew he reveled in taking her to the edge, and holding her right there. Just a breath away from the pleasure she desired.

Nodrog leaned his head down and lightly kissed her hard nipples through the fabric of her shirt, sending a little shiver across her body. Another soft moan as he brought her closer. Her pretty eyes quietly begging for more, not yet desperation, but a definite desire. The words right there on her beautiful lips, unable to be voiced.

Her pleasure became a little more vocal as he answered her unspoken desire with his magic. Slowly stoking the flames of her desire hotter. Her body tense as his fingers and thumb gave her the last little bit to bring her to climax. Clinging to him tighter as she came, as he whispered 'I love you' in her ear.

Roslyn could not resist as he carried her back to their room. His eyes glowing playfully in the dark as he removed his clothes before joining her on the bed. She sucked in a deep breath as he kissed her wet vulva and snaked that wonderful tongue inside her. The scales of his snout teasing her clit as he went down on her.

She was a little surprised by the taste of her own fluids on his tongue as he kissed her. Roslyn wrapped her legs around his waist as he slowly pushed all of his hard prick in her, including the knot. She trembled in his arms as his slow thrusts brought her higher. She could feel his knot growing with every slow thrust, it only made the sensations better.

Roslyn squeezed him tightly as he pushed the knot inside just before it swelled inside of her. His thick cum filling her as she climaxed for a second time. She giggled as he rolled the two of them over so she could lay on him and enjoy the afterglow. Roslyn fell asleep in his arms.

Alice was not exactly happy as she watched the heavy snow fall from the sky. The reason for her displeasure was in changing positions from scientist to race car driver, she somehow lost her position plowing snow. She missed the rumble of the diesel engine and smashing snow drifts. It wasn't far damn it all.

On the flip side, she was able to spend more time with Harley, in hopes of keeping her daughter from learning Jenny's bad habits. Mainly like doing things to scare her. Of course spending a lot of time at the shop working on race cars probably would teach Harley other bad habits.

They had just stripped the car back down to roll cage and carbon fiber so Katie could lay down the paint and the roll cage could be powder coated. Then it was a two day ordeal to reassemble the car, which would just be ready to be loaded up in the truck with the other car for the off world race. They had one day of leeway if something was not finished.

Alice had gone over all the notes the Salaks had sent her. Their world was tropical, but a little dryer than the Amazon world. It also had less gravity and more importantly a lower atmospheric density than earth. It was the latter part Alice was concerned about, because that would give the Salaks a home field advantage.

From the car's performance standpoint, it would be a matter of tuning and turbo charger selection. In that regard, the Salaks strongly suggested that all competitors run turbine or forced air induction engines in their cars. Flying was a difficult prospect on their home world, zeppelins or blimps were far more popular. The fastest mode of transportation was the underground magnetic levitation and propulsion bullet trains. Which Alice and Carly wanted to ride since they went over three hundred miles per hour.

Talking with Dr. Phillips and Mr. October, they all agreed on arriving at the earliest possible date the rules would allow. That way Alice and those on her pit crew could acclimate to the lower level of oxygen in the air. Which much to Alice's delight, sex was a very good activity to get a work out. Nodrog of course would be unaffected by the lower oxygen levels and Alice figured he wouldn't mind personally seeing to her needs.

The Salaks' world had the lowest levels of oxygen of any world mortals inhabited. Which was why they were smaller than most races of life. They were also the lightest of them, having hollow bones like birds. Alice found them rather fascinating both on the physical level and the cultural level.

Another interesting if also frightening fact was that while the Salaks were the most advanced life form on their world, they were the least dangerous of life forms on their world. A certain form of vegetation on the world was not only semi sentient, but incredibly vicious. Accounting for more deaths than any other factor. Which was odd given the Salaks were poisonous to the plant, it apparently killed them in spite because it could not eat them.

Which worried Alice since Jenny and Nodrog insisted she tasted incredible. Thankfully like all plants, they were afraid of fire, so Alice would make sure to keep a small butane torch with her. Even more amusing was according to the Velopians, the horrific plants were delicious and had an almost aphrodisiac effect on the vegetarian race. The Salaks were more than happy to chop up the killer plants for any reason, selling it as food was sort of like the icing on the cake.

Jenny of course zeroed in on the, it makes you horny bit almost immediately and insisted they get some one night. Alice could only laugh and shake her head. She should know better by now that her kitten always finds the kinky or erotic or food first. She really was a guy in a woman's body. All she thought about was sex or food. That was one of the things Alice found in Jenny that was sometimes a double edged sword. However, Alice loved Jenny's enthusiasm for life and adventure.

Alice showed Nodrog an interesting bit about the Salaks' views on dragons. Fire and Shadow elementals were worshiped above all other types of dragons or elemental creatures. Because both fire and shadow could kill the horrific plants with little or no effort. They offered gems, precious metals, personal favors, their own bodies in payment to any fire or shadow elemental that exterminated any of the plants that invaded their cities and villages.

Unlike other non magic using races, the Salaks did not fear or dislike magic. They simply had no use for it. Aside from entertainment or keeping the vegetation in check. Which made their worship of the fire and shadow so unusual to most outsiders. Otherwise they were a very tech savvy race. Their cities were well built and like the Velopians' cities did little harm to the environment, save for the one species of plant.

Giant super computers ran nearly everything, freeing the Salaks to tend to other matters. The computers ran the infrastructure, the transportation and some parts of the government. They had a flat tax and enjoyed a fairly comfortable living. They were regarded by all races as very adept at all manner of arts, theater, music and sports. While the Velopians might not have a word for acquaintances, the Salaks had no word for lazy. They worked hard, and played hard year round. They were also thought of being the most charitable.

"So they are big supporters of the Velopians because, the Velopians are not afraid of those plants and will happily cut them up and eat them." Jenny said as they sat around their apartment one afternoon.

"I guess that means if Alice likes eating the plants, she will be their favorite human." Sherman chuckled.

"Have you seen how big they get? I couldn't eat a whole one in two weeks." Alice said with wide eyes.

"I am glad Sherman sweet talked the boss into taking a little more security so I can get the chance to go to another world." Samantha said.

"Speaking of other worlds, when is the ship going to be finished?" Stacy asked from her position on the floor playing with Harley.

Nodrog rubbed his chin. "Should be done this time next year. I want to say some time in March the four candidates for the dragon navigator position will be stopping by for a visit."

"Do we get to meet any of them?" Roslyn asked.

Sherman and Nodrog shrugged. "That depends on Marko and Nodrog. They will be given a tour of the facility and I am sure they will want to meet a few of our more outstanding employees."

"So they will meet Alice for sure." Stacy giggled.

"And Roslyn since she stood toe to toe with a dragon." Samantha said.

"Actually they will meet with the majority of the military and scientific side of the company. Most likely who ever does get the position will spend a fair amount of time with Nodrog to get used to living on this world." Sherman said.

"I do know one was interested in meeting Alice, since she is this world's first intergalactic celebrity. I think she even has a little crush on you too." Nodrog teased.

Alice blushed while Jenny got a little defensive of Alice. "I don't like that idea, Alice is mine."

"I don't think you have anything to worry about Jenny, I am sure it is just a celebrity crush." Nodrog chuckled.

Alice hugged Jenny. "I hope you realize there are a lot of people who want to be in your shoes. That is one of the problems that a little fame brings. Lets not forget what happened after the race on the Amazon world."

"Oh I remember, I ain't going to let you out of the apartment if you win this year's race." Jenny grumbled while everyone else laughed.

"Back to the topic of dragons. Are any of them male and single?" Samantha asked and laughed at Sherman's expression.

"Looking to replace him already?" Roslyn laughed.

Samantha leaned closer to Sherman. "No, I am going to keep my wolf. A few of the ladies that I work with were curious since you took the first dragon, Roslyn."

Sherman could only shrug. "So what is it about dragons you ladies find so... attractive?"

"That is a good question. I mean the two of you are good looking, intelligent, in good health and have active life styles. And treat those around you with respect." Alice said as she thought about it. Because she did think about it once and a while.

"Maybe it is because they were thought to be just a fantasy? I am not going to lie, but some of the things Nodrog can do... still give me nightmares." Stacy said and actually shivered at the thought. "But there is the other side. His unrelenting search when Jenny and Roslyn were taken. Healing DJ's broken leg, or getting Lilith to heal Alice's leg and foot."

"And well of course taking the time to find a way to fix me." Stacy said as she was visibly trying to keep from crying. "I just can't tell you how much it means, or ever really thank you."

Nodrog sat next to Stacy and kissed her cheek. "I can see how happy you are, that is all the thanks I need."

"I thought it was just because all of them were good looking." Jenny added with her usual matter of factness. Of course they all just blankly looked at her.

"What? It is true." Jenny grumbled.

Roslyn gave it a little thought. "Actually she might be right. Can't say as I have seen an ugly dragon no matter their form or material they are made out of. Even Glados was an attractive older looking elf."

"I agree, Mianth is certainly cute. Perenth is beautiful and Dallarth is stunning." Sherman said and chuckled when Samantha pinched him. "What? I know you look at other men, so don't give me any flak."

Samantha sighed. "Good point. Because I agree that Mianth is adorable. I suppose the stone one..."

"Inilth" Nodrog added.

"Yes, Inilth is the only one I have seen that I could not see myself with." Samantha said.

"Which is odd since he looks like Nodrog, but carved from stone and not metal." Alice said.

"We are only brothers in our elemental alignment, we both come from different mothers and fathers." Nodrog said.

"Maybe it has to do with his stone nature. Perhaps Nodrog is the only earth elemental dragon you are compatible with. Mianth is water, maybe you associate with water better." Jenny said and pointed to the emerald gem in her collar. "Some things just resonate with us better than others. For reasons we cannot put into words. While not one hundred percent accurate, but like the signs of the zodiac and their associated personality traits."

"I really want to know how you do that." Sherman chuckled again at how Jenny could be a total pervert one second and deeply philosophical the next.

"Actually Jenny is probably more right than she knows. She is also one of the few people who can get along with anyone. Elves, dragons, different mortal races. I have yet to see her dislike an entire group." Nodrog said.

"So could you see yourself sleeping with the stone dragon?" Samantha teased.

Jenny shrugged. "If he didn't eat me for jokes about being rock hard..."

"So have you come across someone who you did not think about sex?" Sherman asked.

"Yes, that ugly little bug thingy Roslyn was going to beat the crap out of." Jenny said.

"Any dragons?" Stacy asked.

"Well not yet..." Jenny said and blushed.

"I guess I have not spent enough time interacting with the other races yet to form a solid opinion." Samantha said and leaned back.

"I am sure we will all be getting the chance to in the near future." Roslyn said and smiled as Harley managed to walk the four steps between Stacy and herself.

"How is the car coming along?" Sherman asked.

Alice smiled. "Tomorrow starts the two day reassembly. Four days from now we have to load it on the truck and get everything loaded on the starship."

"That really just sounds so damn cool. Starship." Stacy said with a smile.

Everyone laughed. "Yes it does." Alice said with a smile.
