#76 of Iron Dragon

Thought I would try something different with how I wrote an auto race. I picked a track, looked up its stats and wrote out an entire lap. As if you were in the car with Alice. Not sure how well it turned out, but to keep the races from being the same... It was worth a shot.

As the weather changed from the cold of winter to the warmth of spring. It brought two things with it, field work and racing. Jenny was standing outside holding Harley in her arms. Marko and several others were also waiting outside on the spring afternoon. They all got a laugh out of the small child's reaction to the sudden appearance of Nodrog and the modified plane hull he carried.

While the gigantic dragon was incredibly interesting to her, she lost interest as her other mother stepped out of the modified plane. Alice was returning from the field to turn around the next day and head out for a race. At the moment she was still overseeing the artifacts Nodrog had brought from the site.

Alice had been out in the field for three weeks so far this year. After the win on the Amazon home world, people were demanding, begging and pleading to get her and the sinister Viper to their events. In fact they had skipped asking Alice, Joe or her father and talked directly to Marko himself. The history Alice and the field teams went looking for, mattered little to people who were more concerned with the history Alice was currently making.

Some of them were substantial investors, which meant their requests needed to be answered. Marko had Jim order and stock a truck and trailer to support Alice's racing career that at the moment was bigger than she probably wanted. Little Joe and the twins were always on call to go with Alice anywhere in the world to race.

Alice was never one to say 'no' but was finding it easier to say as time went on. She simply could not understand why people were upset that she did not want to race constantly on the professional level. She wanted to keep it more as a hobby so unlike her father, Alice would not get burnt out and sic of it.

Of course on the other side, people could not understand why Alice wasted her talent doing other things besides racing. The fact she did not compete enough to win a season championship was also difficult for them to understand.

"You okay?" Jenny asked after they put Harley to bed.

Alice smiled. "Yeah, just a little frustrated. I would have liked more than a day to spend with the two of you before leaving again."

Jenny laid on the couch with her head on Alice's lap. "I know. It would have been nice... Still I guess it can't be helped at this point."

"I could lose..." Alice said and leaned back to look up at the ceiling.

"We both know you won't lose on purpose. Carly has been keeping pace, she might get you yet." Jenny said.

"She has once... And you are right, there is no way I would throw a race. That goes against everything I have worked for." Alice sighed.

"What if you just took a year off? Simply did not enter any event." Jenny said and purred as Alice scratched behind her ears.

"That would never work. Soon as someone came up and challenged me to a race the competitor inside me would never back down." Alice said and looked down at Jenny. "Nice try though."

"I never said it was a good idea... Although I do have another one." Jenny said with a smile.

"I already like it." Alice said and kissed Jenny before they went back to their bedroom.

As they were going to do way too often, Jenny and Harley stood by and watched as Alice boarded another plane for some distant place. Roslyn and Cindy were piloting the large cargo plane. Nodrog was now part of her permanent race team as well as Alice's bodyguard. Though he would protect everyone with Alice at any of the races. Joe would rotate two of his staff out per event to fill out the needed positions to pit crew the car. The twins and Little Joe would always be going with Alice.

The plane was a little more crowded than usual, because Marko was accompanying them to this particular event. So there was one of the armored SUVs and of course Kitty, Catlin and Tabbatha all in tow. Jim and Ron were also along to work on the car.

Alice would end up spending a fair amount of time accompanying Marko to different meetings and events in the months and years to come. While Marko owned the company, everyone knew Alice. The previous year the mouse had been on dozens of magazine covers for both her career as a scientist and her hobby as a race car driver.

With her father by her side and Nodrog also close by, Alice managed to stay, well Alice. Large crowds were a little intimidating and Alice was usually a little nervous in large crowds. The thing people found most endearing about her was her modesty and respect for those she competed against.

"You okay Alice?" DJ asked as she helped Alice strap into the Viper.

Alice smiled as she adjusted her HANS device before putting it on. "Seems like it takes longer to get to this moment than before."

"Probably because everyone wants to ask you a million questions before each race. I think I would rather go back to putting up with cops at two in the morning than the media frenzy now." DJ said from her spot kneeling on the floor board where the passenger seat used to be.

"It would be a tossup for me, the cops were never too bad. It was dealing with mom and dad after the cops I was most afraid of." Alice said and pulled on her helmet while DJ buckled her in.

"All set." DJ said as she climbed out and then closed the door.

Alice closed her eyes and took a couple slow breaths. She wished Jenny and Harley could be here with her, but Jenny had to stay behind to work. At least the two of them could go to the off world race at the end of the year. However, there was several races between then and now. Alice smiled as she pushed in the clutch and hit the starter button bringing the Viper to life.

Laguna Seca was one of her favorite tracks. Despite only being a little over two miles in length, Alice just liked it. Enough straights and sweeping bends to reach high speeds with that corkscrew turn in just the right spot. Plus it had elevation change, Alice hated flat tracks... Okay hate might be a strong word. She disliked flat circuits, the more twists, turns and elevation change the better in her mind. Later this year she would get her chance to run on a track she had dreamed of driving on, the giant track known as the Nurburgring.

Alice put the car in first and rolled off her starting position to follow the pace car. While many might argue the Viper's engine noise and exhaust note were anything but peaceful. To Alice they were invigorating, spurring her on to do her absolute best. Her hand tightened on the wheel and the shift knob as the pace car pulled off the track.

Alice and the car next to her made their way around the very tight left hander onto the front stretch. As they slowly closed in on the starting line the green flag waved and Alice put it to the floor.

A drag race through the gears up a slight incline and then a subtle left on the downhill to the second turn. Alice stayed on the power until the last moment before braking hard, down shifting to second gear. As the left side of the car kissed the edge of the track at the corner apex, Alice eased onto the throttle and stayed to the right for the slight dogleg.

Downshifting and late braking once more for the third corner. Alice came out under full power keeping a slight lead as the Viper howled along. It still belched flame as did the other cars as the drivers up and downshifted. Alice eased on the brakes and dropped a gear for turn four, this time cutting it tight, getting the right side tires up on the slight curb. The Viper eating up the track as fast as Alice willed it too. She braked late for turn five once again cutting a tight precise line through it.

The field was single file behind her as they roared uphill to turn six. The aero package on the car creating enough down force Alice needed little braking to take the still heading uphill left turn. Hard on the power to turn seven as they continued to climb. Turn seven was a slight jog to the right and Alice only eased off the throttle before nearly locking up the tires for the corkscrew that was turn eight.

Alice had waited as always to the last possible second to brake for the corkscrew. The track veered sharply to the left and steeply downhill before the corkscrew turned right and the grade eased. It was such a dramatic change that at the speed Alice had taken it, it was just like the rush you got on a roller coaster drop.

They continued downhill as Alice and the other drivers drifted to the right side of the track under power for turn nine. Alice lifted slightly as the left side of the car kissed the slight curb of the left hand turn, then she was right back on the power. Wes, who was currently in second place was sticking with her. His Austen was a little lighter and did handle corners a little better than Alice's Viper.

Alice smiled as she quickly glanced back at Wes as he followed her line down to turn ten where the track leveled off. Turn eleven was very narrow and tight, Wes was starting to brake long before Alice did. He wondered how she never ended up going straight into the gravel as late as she braked for it.

They both got back on the power as they headed up the slight hill to cross the start, finish line for the first time. She could hear Wes' Austin behind her and she was all smiles as they started down hill on the second lap.

Wes, Carly and the other drivers would have their work cut out as they continued to tick off lap after lap. Carly's Ford and Wes' Austin were sporting their actual race team paint leaving Alice's Viper as the only unnumbered and unmarked car on the field. Not that Alice ever needed a number for people to know who was driving the candy red cars.

With the first round of pits completed Wes currently held the lead. Carly in second and Alice sitting in third. The two were a little on guard with the sinister Viper growling in their mirrors. Easing their minds very slightly was knowing Alice would have to stop and top off the Viper's tank if the race stayed green. Alice did not think of them as rivals, actually she did not think of anyone in that way. They were all race car drivers and Alice thought of everyone as friends.

Which a few found odd. Carly and Wes thought of Alice as a friend and as a rival. The other drivers just thought of her as a polite and respectful opponent. Everyone on track wanted to beat her and many pushed themselves harder to be able to do that.

Unfortunately, some pushed a little too hard and brought out the yellow flag.

"Are they okay?" Alice asked as they slowed.

Little Joe keyed his mic. "Both of them are fine."

"That's good. Dad what do you think?" Alice asked as they followed the pace car.

"You are going to have to come in for a couple gallons." Ron said after he and Little Joe looked over the notes they had been taking.

"Ten four." Alice said.

"Carly, looks like they are going to bring Alice in. You have plenty to make it to the end." Doug said over her radio.

"Joe, is Alice pitting?" Wes asked.

"Well it looks like Nodrog is getting ready to put some fuel in it." Big Joe chuckled as he leaned back from his spot on a tool box to look over at Alice's pit.

"It is what it is man." Wes said and glanced back as the Viper and a handful of other cars pulled off the track and onto pit lane.

"You have beaten her before, just stay cool." Joe said and waved to the people in Alice's pit. Technically he won as long as Alice or Wes crossed the line first. Still, Wes needed the points for his run at the championship for this season. The current car in second place was a little worrying, since Carly was a damn good driver. She only beat Wes last year by a few points.

As the Viper rolled past, Joe could only chuckle as Alice waved to him. "Think Wes stands a chance?" Tim asked as he sat on the tool box next to Joe.

"He always has a chance, so does the girl sitting behind him." Joe said.

"Really they all have a chance, after all there are lots of things that can go wrong." Tim said.

"Only with the car. We both know Alice does not make mistakes." Joe said and leaned back.

As the green flag dropped the cars all roared to life again for the final laps of the race. Wes and Carly wasted no time pulling as much of a lead as they could while Alice was back in traffic. Alice was as always waiting for the right time to pass. A few simply tried to hard which gave her the opening she needed.

With four laps to go, Alice was back in third. Simply waiting for Carly and Wes to give her the slightest of opportunities. Alice nudged Carly bump drafting the two of them past Wes. However Alice could see things only a handful of other drivers could. There was a slight hole in the air coming off of Carly's car and that's exactly where Alice put her car.

Carly had hoped, by pulling in front of Wes, it would cut off the draft Alice was sitting in. Instead Alice managed to pull past her retaking the lead between turns five and six. Wes and Carly had a lap and a half to try and take the lead from Alice.

The two of them stayed with Alice and just ran out of laps to pull back ahead of the mouse and her snake. This was the second victory of the year, the first having come from the track in her home town. While those on her team and fans cheered rather loudly, Alice was reserved and quiet.

It was a little strange how larger than life everyone made her out to be. Alice sighed as she got in the armored SUV to be whisked away to a meeting with some investors. She did not even get a chance to talk to anyone after the post race interviews.

Without her father or Nodrog around, Alice was quiet and soft spoken. She would have liked Jenny to at least be with her. The gala and events for her actual job were in many regards easier to deal with. People understood what she talked about when history was involved. Alice lost most everyone with any technical explanation dealing with racing. Making it worse was she did not get the chance to change out of her fire suit, or eat any dinner. So she was hot, tired and hungry as this little thing continued on.

"Are you okay?" Kitty asked as they rode back to the hotel.

"No, I am starving and I stink. I want a shower and something to eat." Alice grumbled.

"There was food at the meeting." Marko said and was a little surprised Alice glared at him.

"Hor derives do not count as a meal. It took me five minutes to convince one of the girls waiting on everyone to just get me a plain bottle of water." Alice snapped.

The others sat in rather stunned silence. None of them had seen Alice upset or angry before.

Alice blushed as she looked back at them. "Sorry, it has been a long day."

"No need for you to apologize, I think I got a little carried away. Tabbatha, call the hotel and see about getting Alice some dinner delivered up to her room." Marko said.

Tabbatha was already dialing the hotel as he spoke. "Yes sir." Tabbatha said from her seat next to the driver at the front of the SUV.

Alice closed the door to her private room. Dinner had already been sent up, since vegetarian food did not take as long to prepare. It smelled good as she walked over to the table and lifted the lid. Eggplant Parmesan, with linguini and a few large dinner rolls.

She replaced the lid and shed her fire suit first. While she was completely alone, Alice put on a bathrobe to eat dinner in. The others were sharing rooms, Marko and Alice had suites on the upper floors. It was a little extravagant for Alice, since she didn't mind sharing a room. Because being alone sucked.

After dinner Alice stripped naked and got into the over sized tub for a good soak. Jenny had called her earlier, but Alice's phone had been left in the hotel. It was eleven o'clock as Alice sat in the tub holding her phone. "I am sure you are already in bed..."

Jenny grumbled as she searched for her phone in the dark. However she was fully awake as she read the caller ID. "Hi love."

"Sorry I missed your call earlier." Alice said.

"It's okay, I figured you might have left it behind." Jenny said and after a short pause. "Everything okay?"

"No." Alice said and wiped a tear from her eye. "I miss you."

Jenny smiled. "I miss you too. You didn't beat Wes badly did you?"

Alice giggled. "No, he and Carly were right on my tail."

"Well that is my favorite place to be too." Jenny said and hugged her knees to her chest as she heard Alice laugh a little more. She could hear the little bit of frustration in Alice's voice and knew she just needed to talk to someone.

So Jenny stayed up and talked to Alice as long as she wanted her to.

Chapter.

Alice got to spend two days with Jenny and Harley before getting on the plane Nodrog teleported back to the field team. Alice wished Jenny was with her, but was thankful for the much quieter atmosphere at the site. Well it was quiet after everyone congratulated her on another victory.

Jenny had plenty of work to do and was very happy to have Molly helping her get everything done. The skunk was a hard worker and caught on very quickly to anything Jenny showed her how to do. Jenny was also very thankful for the fully staffed day care facility on site.

Roslyn grumbled as she sat through a meeting. At least she was not alone since Samantha sat next to her. Both of them were a little annoyed that their men had to go with Marko and that ass Dmitri out of town for the better part of a month. Roslyn was not flying them, because it was actually off world.

Roslyn was a little surprised to get a call from Jocelyn one day. The shark was stuck in town for a few days while her plane was getting an engine changed out. Roslyn offered to meet her for a couple drinks.

"I tell you she is an angel. Sexiest otter you will ever see." Jocelyn said to the bartender.

"You didn't say she had wings." The bartender stuttered as an otter stood behind the shark.

"She doesn't have literal wings..." Jocelyn froze as she actually felt someone standing behind her.

"I had better be wearing clothes in that head of yours." Roslyn said rather firmly.

Jocelyn spun around and was quite surprised to see the beautiful otter did actually have wings, and was wearing clothing that fit her lovely figure very well. "I was just talking about you."

"I know." Roslyn said with a sly smile. "Rum and coke on the rocks please."

Roslyn sat on the stool next to her friend and chuckled. "I will severely hurt you, if you pull a feather out to see if they are real."

Jocelyn blushed but smiled even wider. "So are you going to tell me how you got them. And are you dying your hair? You look even better than I remember."

"Actually they are connected, and it's a story better told later." Roslyn smiled as her ordered drink arrived. After a sip she looked at Jocelyn and asked "So how have you been?"

After they caught up on the normal stuff Roslyn noticed she had her bag with her. "Do you have a place to stay for the night?"

"I was going to find a hotel in a little bit." Jocelyn said and glanced at her watch.

"Don't be silly, you can come crash at my place. Just put her tab on mine and bring me the check when you get a minute." Roslyn said.

"You don't have to do that." Jocelyn said and blushed as Roslyn brushed back her hair and smiled. Her friend was being flirty, but Jocelyn did not know with who.

"Na, it's cool. Besides I owe you from last time." Roslyn had borrowed Nodrog's truck without asking. Not like he was using it at the moment anyways. She checked them into security and headed over to her apartment.

"This is a little bigger than your last place." Jocelyn said as she walked into the apartment.

"Yeah a little bigger than I need, but oh well." Roslyn said and locked the door behind them.

"Okay, so what's the deal with those?" Jocelyn asked after they put her bag in the second bedroom.

"Alright, already." Roslyn said and poured them both another drink. Roslyn took a minute to gather her thoughts before telling her friend nearly everything that happened on the giant world so far away.

"That's a hell of a story... but seeing as you really do have them." Jocelyn said and looked at Roslyn.

"I know it took a little getting used to." Roslyn said and eyed the shark's ass as Jocelyn walked to the kitchen. She doubted Nodrog would mind her playing around with another woman, and Roslyn did not have as many toys to entertain herself as Jenny did. Plus to be fair she had been good for the entire time he had been gone thus far. "Last year was quite the eye and mind opening experience."

"It certainly sounds like it." Jocelyn said and was rather surprised by Roslyn coming into the kitchen. The otter had pushed her into a corner and had an arm on either side of her. Roslyn had to look up at Jocelyn since she was taller than Roslyn. She blushed since Roslyn was so close. "Don't tease me Roslyn, that's not fair and you know it."

Roslyn only smiled, and her smile grew as Jocelyn's eyes lowered to look at her hand. "I may be a bitch, but even I am not that mean." Roslyn said and popped open the top button of her shirt.

"We both know what is really on your mind." Roslyn said and a second button came undone.

"Are... are you wearing a lace bra?" Jocelyn stuttered out. She blushed since this was the most of Roslyn's cleavage she had seen so close.

"Maybe." Roslyn said and leaned closer to Jocelyn.

She could smell the spiced rum on Roslyn's breath. Jocelyn had seen that look hundreds of times before. It was a look Roslyn had when she was going to lure a man to bed. She was not a man and figured Roslyn just couldn't hold her drinks as well as she used to.

Roslyn leaned closer pressing her body against Jocelyn's. "Come on I know what you really want, and you know rum puts me in the mood."

Jocelyn's eyes grew wide as Roslyn reached up with her hands, placing them on Jocelyn's cheeks, closed her eyes and kissed Jocelyn. The shark was lost as those soft lips touched hers, and surprised as they parted enough for her to taste the rum on Roslyn's tongue. Jocelyn didn't know what to think as Roslyn opened herself up this way.

Roslyn blushed as she pulled back and looked up at Jocelyn. "A little kitten convinced me to try playing for the other team. So you won't be my first in that regard, but if you still want me... I will not stop you."

Roslyn smiled coyly. "However, if you want to know if I am wearing lace, you will have to come to my room."

Jocelyn watched as Roslyn walked back to the bedrooms, the extra sway in her hips telling her, the otter really wanted to play. She quickly focused and gave chase to that lovely ass.

Roslyn was sitting on the bed and had only taken off her socks. That playful smirk on her lips as Jocelyn climbed on her bed and kissed her again. Jocelyn's fingers unbuttoned the rest of Roslyn's shirt exposing the lacy bra and the beautiful body under the shirt.

Jocelyn kissed her way down that firm beautiful body and worked Roslyn's belt and pants loose so she could pull those off. She was surprised Roslyn was also wearing lacy panties. Jocelyn removed her own clothes quickly before giving Roslyn her undivided attention. This was something she had wanted for years, and did not want to waste it.

Roslyn moaned softly as Jocelyn explored her body. The anthro shark's skin caused odd sensations, a bit like the dragon's scales but not quite as intense. Jocelyn's triangular teeth sent a shiver up Roslyn's spine as they raked through her fur. The shark did not nibble on her at all, only licking or lightly kissing. The light sandpaper like feel of her fingers drew out a louder moan from Roslyn as Jocelyn lightly teased the otter's clit.

Jocelyn was surprised how firm the older woman's body was, and how sensitive it was. She did know Roslyn was rather vocal when she was really enjoying it. A point she was looking forward too. Shark anthros had rather wide mouths, which also meant they had rather wide tongues. Jocelyn smiled as Roslyn moaned as her tongue teased her.

Roslyn did moan rather loudly and clawed at the bed as Jocelyn ate her out. The shark was quite pleased with herself. She was a bit startled as Roslyn smiled and the otter's pretty eyes glowed.

"Relax, and, trust me." Roslyn whispered seductively as she pulled the shark up the bed to kiss her. Roslyn smiled as Jocelyn moaned softly from her magic advances.

Jocelyn's mind was spinning as she felt Roslyn do things to her, without using her hands. Well she did use her hands, just not in the places or ways Jocelyn had been expecting. The tall shark anthro could not lay flat on her back, but had to support her upper body on her fore arms as she watched with wide eyes as Roslyn went down on her.

"Holy fuck..." Jocelyn whispered as Roslyn's tongue teased her and the otter's magic brought her to unknown levels of arousal. Surprisingly she had never imagined Roslyn ever going down on her. Jocelyn had always thought about giving pleasure to the most attractive woman she knew. Her own climax was powerful as Roslyn took her higher than she had ever dreamed about.

Jocelyn was also going to find out first hand why even the fittest of men, Roslyn took to bed were tired the next day. Not that Jocelyn was going to mind, since she enjoyed sex as much as her friend. It was rather late when two of them went to sleep.

Jocelyn yawned as she sat up and stretched. The sun looked to be already up even with the dark curtains covering the window. Her muscles were sore, her back was sore and she was still tired.

"Morning sleepy head." Roslyn said with a naughty little smirk.

"What time is it?" Jocelyn asked.

Roslyn glanced at her watch. "Little after ten AM."

"Christ, I am surprised you ever get a man back in bed with you. I'll need a vacation just to get some sleep." Jocelyn said and slowly got out of bed.

"There are clean towels and wash cloths in the bathroom for you. For the size of this apartment building, the water pressure is awesome, it will put out hot water." Roslyn said and headed back out to the living room.

Jocelyn took a lengthy shower and got dressed before heading out to the living room. "So what's the plan for today?"

"Nothing until later tonight. A friend asked me to baby-sit their little girl." Roslyn said as Jocelyn rooted through the fridge.

"You, baby-sit? I do not believe my ears." Jocelyn chuckled.

"Its not that funny. I am old enough to be her mother..." Roslyn grumbled.

"So you are the child's grandmother?" Jocelyn asked.

"God mother actually." Roslyn said as Jocelyn sat at the table with her. "Jenny, the little cat girl you met out at the recovery. She and her family have a... its complicated."

"God mother uh... I think it suits you a little better. You are not exactly a sweet little old lady like most people think of a grandmother being." Jocelyn said with her usual toothy smile.

Roslyn shook her head. "I don't know if I should be flattered or insulted."

"I would never insult you, because I don't want my ass kicked into next week." Jocelyn said.

While Roslyn and Jocelyn caught up on other news, before Jocelyn had to get back to work. The rest of the week for Roslyn was uneventful and she was waiting, impatiently for Nodrog's return.

Nodrog was with Marko and company on the factory grounds that had just finished the machine work and final assembly of the pewter frame that would become the first dragon navigated starship the humans had. This was at the tail end of the third week they had been gone.

The humans would have to build the steel and alloy superstructure that held everything to the pewter frame work. A good portion of which was already under construction. The only part of the pewter frame that was not finished was the actual interface the dragon navigator would use. As that part was determined by the elemental aspect of the dragon, and personal preference.

"I have never seen that much valuable metal in one place before." Dmitri said as they all marveled at the finished piece.

"Really a trifle amount considering what you have given us in exchange for it. We simply cannot put a value on the medical equipment." Sharn said as the technicians finished pulling the frame work outside.

"A pity it is not for dinner." Nodrog chuckled. Mianth giggled at his comment along with a few Velopians.

"I cannot even offer you scrap, because we save all of it. To be melted down for the next ship." Sharn said with a slight smile.

"That is alright. I sincerely hope this will not be the only time I come to this facility to bring a frame back to earth." Nodrog was quite pleased with the way things had gone after the first meeting he got the Velopians to agree too. The trade agreement he hoped would be the first of many.

"I certainly hope to come back several times as well. Hopefully a few times for something besides work." Sherman said.

"You will have to bring your life mate with you sometime." Mianth said as she stood next to Tunrog holding hands.

"All of you are welcome here anytime. You have a few days before the rest of you head home, it does not all have to be business." Perenth said.

"To think we owe all of this to a typhoon. Perhaps the history books were also wrong about you." Alyvia said with a smile.

"Except I am in no one's history books. The real credit belongs to a quiet and modest little mouse." Nodrog turned and walked towards the pewter frame, taking his true form. The sun light glinting off of his metal scales like it did off the dull silver of the pewter frame.

"Nodrog, we have received confirmation, they are expecting you." Tabbatha said after the crew of the ship told her they had received the message.

Nodrog bowed his head. "Thank you. Do try and enjoy the rest of your time on this world Tabbatha."

With that the dragon chuckled and disappeared with the several ton pewter frame. An incomprehensible amount of distance traveled, in nothing more than a moment. The pleasant spring of the Velopian world replaced by the warmer early summer of Earth. Both worlds rather similar, but different at the same time. Nodrog liked them both, though he found the culture and outlook of the Velopians as a whole, more pleasant.

Still a visible smile crossed his face as those who were expecting him looked rather surprised by his sudden appearance. They overcame their shock and got to work getting the frame placed on dollies to be pulled inside the massive hanger built for this purpose.

There was a significant crowd present to see the pewter frame arrive on this world. Along with a large group of Velopian ship builders to help with the construction. He kindly declined to comment to the media present, and still in his true form, they did not press the issue.

The lovely, Jade was more than happy to address the gathered public and media. There were others who were older and in higher positions than Jade. However she could talk to large crowds and media with far more eloquence. While she was head of arguably the smallest division, she still stood in Marko's place for public events such as this. Really she was an older Alice. Jade had a personality that glowed and few found reason to dislike her.

Jenny and Roslyn were equally delighted to have his undivided attention one night while Lucy and Ron took Harley for the evening. That and Roslyn was starting to enjoy being sexually active with another woman. Plus there was no denying the kitten was incredibly talented and fun between the sheets.

Alice would have to wait until the next race for his intimate company. Which was only a week away. She as well, welcomed the release that came from laying with the Iron Dragon. Making this race better than the last was, there was no required meetings or entertaining boring investors after it. This was also an event where a number of her friends who raced at the professional level competed in.

Mike was even competing in her class this year. Of course he had to beat his fiancée and Wes to get to Alice. The points race between Wes and Carly was incredibly close as Alice did not enter enough races for her victories to upset the points between the other drivers.

Now well into summer, life had gotten back to a schedule for the most part. Every event Alice showed up to, she won. Carly and Wes fought hard for every point they could get over the other.

Unfortunately for Jenny, it meant she spent a lot of nights alone. Usually she looked forward to seeing Alice race, but with it into full swing now. Jenny found herself wishing it would get over quicker. Being apart was harder than she had first thought. If she was doing field work they would be together more.

Nodrog found Jenny sitting on the headboard of her and Alice's bed. The kitten's tail hanging limp as Jenny looked out the window. He knew what was wrong, and why she was sad. He simply did not know what to say to make her feel better.

"This isn't what I had in mind." Jenny said quietly as he stood next to her.

"I do not think this is what Alice had in mind either." Nodrog said.

"It was foolish of me to think things would stay the same after so many victories. Every year there seems to be one more... It is what makes Alice, Alice... And I don't want her to change. But I don't like being alone." Jenny said and turned to look at Nodrog. "In fact I hate it."

"I don't know what to tell you. I think I may understand how Jim feels..." Nodrog said as he looked out the window.

"How so?" Jenny asked.

"I am the second most powerful creature in existence, and I am not able to help two of the people who mean the most too me." Nodrog said.
