Link blinked open his eyes, his eyes adjusting to the gloom. Leaf was gone, like normal. I was 5 moons old almost to be an apprentice, Leaf was back in the adults den now. I was too old for a mom to watch me, yet new pups! None opened they're eyes yet Oh boy here it goes.
Feather; the light green female pup, currently the runt. Tona; a darker female. Fawn & Lonks; Twins. Clare; the lightest color.
hmm, continuing on
Link got up and walked outside as leaf fell on his nose, he jumped back. Shaking it off his nose; he sighed he jumped at everything now, at the slightest sound. Since he wasn't used to his super hearing kicking in. He looked around everything seems nor- Oof! he yelped in suprise as the sudden impact, added to his back.
"Hi Link! You're up early!" The sun was about to rise, and Link was awake. Something fishy is going on around here, and I'm gonna find out!
Link shook her off gently, "You know i like mornings"
"Yeah, I guess." Yuki perked her ears "Why do you like mornings anyways?"
Link replied "It's quiet, and nice out here"
Yuki replied "Oh," then she jumped up "That's awesome!" she yelped loudly
Link replied "Hush, hmm. Oh, I know!" starts tickling her with his tail.
Yuki falls over and laughs quietly.
Bearpaw wakes to laughing, grr... now what? He goes over to the entrance, and pokes his head out. Stay away from my girl! "Hey, leave her alone!" he barked running over and swatting Links tail away "Go to your puny den! fox!"
Link snarled and went back inside his den Dumbo... Ugh, I won't bother... he thought as he curled up inside his den.
"What did you do that for?!" Yuki barked "He's alot of fun! You might not like him but I do!" Yuki was outraged. She really liked that fox, fox? No! He seemed more like a normal wolf then a fox. No one should be mean to him, no matter what he is!
Bearpaw growled "He doesn't belong, he's a fox!"
Yuki growled "So?"
Bearpaw replied with anger that edged his voice "So? SO?! He's a fox! You're a wolf! You can't be mates anyway, because you're stuck with me!"
"Like I care!" she stomped off angered.
One moon later....
"Link you have been with us for 6 moons and I do not know where we would be without your amazing hearing" probably deaf
Bearpaw scowled, Link was half-moon older! Big Deal! They're just ears... nothing special
Stripe continued "You are now old enough to be an apprentice, you're mentor will be Moon. Moon, teach Link how to hunt and fight."
Moon nodded and touched noses with Link.
Finally, I can be an apprentice. Learning to hunt, and fight, and... and... get closer to Bearpaw's rule. Oh, crud.
When the ceremony was over, Yuki bounced up to Link "Amazing you're gonna be the best apprentice ever!"
Link opened his mouth to respond, but his mentor Moon; called him over by the entrance. When Link came up she said "Today I'm gonna show you the territory"
Link barked "Awesome!" he jumped around his mentor. He was gonna see his territory! Without Bearpaw nagging and bugging him the whole way. Good thing too...
Moon led her apprentice out of the camp and behold... THE FOREST!
Quickly Link darted around the clearing of the forest, green and bright. So many trees, all so green. Tall green trees, and the tips of the leaves getting the color of the fall leaves. There were a few pines and extremely tall trees, others as tiny as my nose.acorns, pine cones, and seeds scattered about here and there.
Moon led him through the trees soon stopping by a a huge willow tree.
"What's this?" Link asked as he craned his neck to see the top, but the sky was covered by long vines that almost reached the ground only a few nose-lengths away from the bottom.
"Welcome to the great willow tree Link!"
"Amazing!" barked Link, he somehow managed to run 2 laps around the large tree trunk.
"Now now" she said when Link got back "We have more territory to discover." she turned and headed off.
Link followed eagerly, excited for more.
They came up to a pond was life everywhere "The lilycat pond Link!"
"Cool" Link said calmer now. He was happy about the willow but there was a willow hanging over the pond. Flora spread out across clearing along with plenty of Fawna as well.
"Lets go." Moon told her apprentice turning away.
"More?" he asked following his mentor.
"Much more, we've only scratched the surface of our territory" Moon replied calmly
"Hmm, okay then" Link followed
They reached streams, clearings, trees.. and much, much more...
Soon they reached an end, one more place...
Nearing the camp they reached a large/medium clearing with semi long grass clearing and on the corners had trees and the clearing was lined with bushes, and a few trees here and there. There was sand scattered across the clearing "hmm?"
Moon replied "This is the: Long Grass sandy hollow! It's where we will do most of our training"
"Nice! I can't wait!" He barked happily
"Promise me you won't tell any of the other pups, I want it to be a surprise for the others."
"Okay!" Link barked
They went inside Moon told Link "Go and eat, you've earned it."
Link nodded and dashed off to the fresh-kill pile.Grabbed a squirrel, ate it dodging the questions of the pups. He layed in his mossy nest in the thorn bush.. he looked up and the faint moon smiled. Link yawned and went to sleep happily...
