It was a beautiful day, one even more so beautiful than ever before. The sun was shining brightly, high in the sky. The birds were chirping a rhythmic symphony that would bring a tear to your eye. For one guy though these all these beautiful things showed an extra extravagance. His name was Jacob, not the most slender boy, never thought he could catch someone's eye, but today was the day he was proven wrong.

He was on his way to see his love interest, a boy by the name of Alex. He felt that with Alex by his side he could do whatever without strain. He could move mountains without breaking a sweat; he could hold the sun and not burn up into ash. To him Alex was truly his one and only. There was no one greater; there would never be anyone greater.

Alex had just sent him a promise ring in the mail, signifying that he felt the same that Jacob did for him. Alex wanted Jacob, no...he needed him. Alex felt that before Jacob that no one would ever love him, he wondered why anyone ever would, or should. He felt he didn't need it, but Jacob showed Alex all the whys and what's of love. His dreams of darkness and despair were renewed and replaced with dreams and thoughts of holding Jacob, squeezing him, promising never to let go.

Jacob looked at the ring Alex sent as he stepped up the stairs to Alex's apartment, knocking on the door, almost shivering at the thought that he was about to have Alex next to him for the first time in the months they had been dating. The thought of hiding had crossed his mind but there he stood, very shy, very nervous, awaiting his lover at the door. A few minutes passed and Jacob decided that he wasn't home, but before he could turn and walk away the door handle jiggled. Time seemed to slow as the door opened little by little revealing to Jacob Alex's toes then foot then leg then Alex himself.

Jacob shook ever so gently, Alex noticing this reached out for him, caressing him in his arms saying "I will stop your shakes, every day, every night, everywhere." Jacob couldn't believe that Alex didn't seem as nervous as him. Slowly wrapping his arms around him, having nothing else to say, said "I Love You" like they had been living together for years. Minutes of caressing felt like hours, they were the only ones there, no one else was around, time froze for the both of them they finally got what they wanted most, each other. With one kiss Alex invited in Jacob in and showed him around.

"So this is the bathroom, and this is the guest room, this is the TV room..." Alex paused walking Jacob to the master bedroom. "And this is our room." Alex continued. Jacob stood as frozen as solid ice. "Did he just say what I think he did?" Jacob thought to himself "Our room?" Jacob's heart beat faster than any drummer could beat his instrument. If it wasn't for Alex being there he would've fallen to the floor, fainting.

Alex giggled shyly, "Let me show you the rest of the place before we think about sleeping" Alex said with a laugh. Jacob nodded silently, looking into Alex's eyes, feeling silly that he almost fainted in front of Alex on their first day together, in Alex's apartment no less.

After the tour of the living quarters was established Alex sat Jacob down at the table and asked what he would like for their first dinner together. "Don't worry hun, it is a nice thought but you don't need to cook for me" Jacob said obviously very shy. "I want to cook for you, I want to feel like we are a family silly" said Alex laughing a little shyly himself. "God, I love him so" thought Jacob to himself not able to look away from Alex smiling. "So what would you like?" Alex asked Jacob. "I am a good baker" Alex continued "Just tell me what you would like and I will make it" Alex spoke smiling at Jacob. Jacob said as a little breaking the ice joke "Are you on the menu? I am in the mood for something very sweet" Both giggled a little as Alex walked over and kissed Jacob. Jacob started shaking more and Alex wrapped his arms around him "Something wrong?" Alex inquired "I told you were sweet, your lips alone just gave me the biggest sugar rush ever imaginable" Jacob told Alex. Alex giggled a little "I will be on the menu later" Alex winked with another giggle. Jacob obviously blushing at Alex's comment finally said the only words he could think to speak at the time "oh my."

"So what would you like?" Alex tried asking again. "Surprise me sweetie" Jacob said, still poking around the thought and shyness of Alex wanting to cook for him. After finishing what Alex was making for the two of them he turned off the stove, placed down some plates and placed down what he had been making, it was two pieces of pizza, in the shape of hearts with arrows through them. "I hope you like it even though it is just pizza, I made it special for us, for our first date" Alex said smiling. "It's beautiful hun, just like something else in here" Jacob said smiling back. "Oh hush, I am not beautiful, you are just seeing things" Alex said looking down a little. Jacob moved his chair closer to Alex. "Look at me sweet heart, I love you, you are my prince, your eyes are the most beautiful jewels I have ever seen, they open up and lead me to the most beautiful soul I have ever seen. This soul doesn't belong to just anyone and it never could. It belongs to my one and only, my Alex, my sweet boy who made this beautiful supper for us. In my eyes you are the only beautiful thing in this world, no one compares, many may try, but all who do will fail. You have this godly, beautiful glow about you; no one can ever take that from you no one ever will be able to and no one could ever take me from you, you will run through my mind no matter what, no matter where, no matter how, no matter why, no matter when. I love you Alex, my beautiful boy, my amazing man, my princely beauty. I love you, I will always love you." Jacob spoke kissing Alex's hand. "You talk too much" Alex said blushing and smiling up at Jacob. "Come on, let's finish our meal and get to bed my love" Alex said, still smiling, wondering how he ever lived without Jacob in his life before this. Jacob gazing deeply into Alex's eyes "That is a wonderful idea my prince"

Both finished their first date meal holding each other's hands, their fingers intertwined as they walked to the bedroom after cleaning up from supper. Alex stripped down to nothing; Jacob blushed profusely wondering why Alex just climbed into bed without putting on sleep wear. Alex giggled saying "Did I forget to mention I sleep naked?" "It....might have slipped your mind once or twice to tell me" Jacob giggled shyly the blush on his face still lingering. "If you would like, I could put something on if that would make you feel more comfortable" Alex offered. "No, that is fine, I want my love to be comfortable, if you are comfy then so am I" Jacob stated as he crawled into the bed next to Alex. Alex rolled over looking into Jacob's eyes "And you say I am beautiful, you think I am amazing, you must not have looked in a mirror very recently" Alex said reaching up to Jacob's cheek slowly rubbing it still looking into his eyes. Jacob put his hand to Alex's on his cheek. "With you, I am slowly believing it, I must be beautiful, and I must be amazing if I have you." Alex rolled over to turn off the light then back over so he was facing Jacob in the dark "Goodnight my sweet Jacob, I will see you in the morning my love" "And I will see you my fantasy turned into reality love Alex"

The starry night twinkled in delight that these two lovers had met, almost as if the god's themselves were happy for them. As the two slept, they dreamt of each other, they both cried tears of joy in their slumber knowing that these dreams weren't just fantasy anymore, they had become reality. They met their love in real life and nothing humanly, nay; godly possible could ever take this moment away from them. The old saying is "Home is where the heart is" for this young couple, they finally found their hearts. They were in each other's minds, souls and bodies. The two slept soundly the rest of the night with the biggest smiles on their faces ready to wake up to see their lover's face gazing upon their own.

The alarm rang as Alex rolled over to shut it off so as not to wake Jacob, he didn't want to ruin something so peaceful, so beautiful, and happening right in front of him. Alex rolled back over and watched as Jacob slept, smiling, and pondering the fact on how he ever got so lucky to find a guy like Jacob. It wasn't that long ago that Alex got out of an abusive relationship, so he was kind of nervous to be doing this with Jacob, but he knew Jacob was different, with Jacob he felt safe, nothing could touch him, nothing could harm him, all the bad in the world had turned to the brightest, most extravagant light there ever was. Alex gently came in close and kissed Jacob as passionately as possible not being able to resist his lips any further. Upon breaking the kiss Jacob faked a yawn, being awake and alert this whole time, doing what Alex was doing now, all through the night.

"I'm sorry babe did I wake you?" Alex inquired. "Not at all my dearest" Jacob giggled knowing he had been faking sleep to watch Alex, to make sure he was safe all night. What is with the giggle? Is there something funny on my face?" Alex questioned Jacob sincerely confused. "Oh it is nothing, just had this amazing dream that I found the love of my life, he invited me over and the same night we held each other in bed as the moon gleamed into the room we shared. Oh my, would you look at that, it seems to have been more than a dream." Jacob smiled kissing Alex and holding his and Alex's hands between them. "I had the same dream, but there was a lot more love making" Alex responded giggling. "Oh you, there will be plenty of time for that, but for now it is time for me to repay my debt." Jacob said still smiling at Alex, his eyes not leaving his. "What do you mean?" Alex again asked confused. "Well you made me dinner last night, it is only fair that I make you breakfast today, aren't I right?" Alex smiled nodding, "I am going to make you a sandwich that came to me in a dream awhile back. It is my own special homemade breakfast sandwich." "What is all on it?" Alex asked rather intrigued. "Well what I do is I take two pieces of bread, that is a no duh I guess" Jacob said laughing whole heartedly, "Then I take a piece of cheese and lay it on the bottom slice of bread, put an egg on top of that, add your choice of either deli turkey or chicken or both add another cheese slice put the top slice of bread pour a little syrup on it and add a pinch of cinnamon sugar and I broil it for about 5 minutes or so." "Looks like you are very creative, even in your dreams" Alex giggled at what sounded so absurd. "You have no idea sweetie" Jacob laughed with Alex "Come on, let's go make you that sandwich" Jacob finished. Jacob grabbed Alex's hand and walked with him to the kitchen to prepare the sandwich he had promised.

About 20 minutes of prep work later, the sandwiches were finally ready to be served. "Where do you keep your plate's hun?" Jacob asked so he could serve them up "Top shelf to your left, you can't miss it" Alex responded still intrigued about the sandwiches. Jacob placed two plates, one for him and one for Alex; he brought the baking tray over and gave Alex his sandwich, standing there until Alex took a bite. "Well what do you think?!" Jacob asked excitedly. "I like it!" Alex exclaimed "I love you and I love your delicious brain!" Alex said as he took another bite from the sandwich. "Oh, so I have a delicious brain huh? When did you become a zombie?" Jacob said smartly sticking his tongue out at Alex. "Okay Mr. Goof" Alex laughed "Come sit with me and let us have our breakfast" Alex finished. After they had finished their morning meal, Jacob got up, ran dish water and put the dishes in the sink. "You need to make those more that was delicious!" Alex kept praising Jacob's work. "It was just a sandwich hun" Jacob said not good accepting compliments. "But you made it darling; that is what makes it so much more than a sandwich." Alex again trying to compliment Jacob again as he sat there smiling. Jacob giggled shyly with an obvious rose tint now added to his cheeks, "I am glad you like it then, I guess I will make more for another breakfast." "I am glad to hear you agree silly buns" Alex giggled. "So did you have anything planned for a first full 24 hours together?" Alex asked. "Well...It is a secret, you will see later tonight though." Jacob said a little teasingly. "Aww I am no good with surprises, please just tell me?" "Can't do that hun, it won't be as amazing if I do." "Oh fine! Make me wait will yea?!" Alex said jokingly. "Trust me; it will be way worth it....I at least I hope you will think so anyway" Jacob said with a little worry in his voice "I am positive I will hun, especially if it is coming from your brain." Alex spoke with a reassuring tone.

A few hours later after breakfast was completed Jacob headed off to the store to start buying supplies for what he was planning that night. "I sure hope he likes what I am planning...my heart is racing out of my chest just thinking about him disliking it....it makes me feel sick..." Jacob said feeling unsure of himself. "Meh, I am probably breathing too much into it I am sure he will love it" Jacob reassured himself smiling. His first stop was Hallmark to buy some flowery scented candles. Next he went to the fanciest food store in town where almost all the higher class meals were located. "I seriously hope he will like this, I mean it should be way better than my little breakfast sandwich" Jacob softly whispered to himself. Just then all of a sudden Jacob felt the room spin and his breathing became labored it took him awhile to regain his composure. He knew something wasn't right happening inside of him, but he didn't care, all he could think about was making Alex happy.

Upon Jacob's return he noticed the lights were off and it was dark which was way too unusual, he opened the door cautiously hearing a voice to his right. "Well hi there tiger" the dark figure said breathily. "A...Alex...is that you?" the lights rose to a faint dim revealing Alex in nothing but a fishnet top and a blue speedo. "I don't know, what do you think?" Alex said, still retaining the sexuality he portrayed through the way he spoke. Jacob stood there speechless in the doorway, mouth agape not knowing what to say as he admired Alex's beauty. "Aww, don't tell me I broke you already" Alex said giggling softly walking closer to Jacob. "I...I...well...uhm....I just...." "Shh....." Alex whispered into Jacob's ear putting his finger to his lips. "So....this was my idea, what was yours for this evening?" Alex asked winking and blushing so bright it was easily seen in the dim light. "W...well I was thinking of a candle lit dinner" Jacob said trying to hide his blush. "Mmm what did you buy for the meal?" Alex asked still keeping the sexual tension alive with his tone of voice. "I...I bought steak" Jacob said starting to shiver from a mix of nervousness and anticipation. Alex laughed still with his sexual tone "Looks like I get two pieces of meat tonight then" He said with a wink. Jacob almost fainted from Alex's comment really at a loss for words at this point and time. "So....shall we?" Alex inquired nibbling a little at Jacob's neck. All Jacob could do was nod as he was pulled off by Alex towards the kitchen table.

After the table was set they began eating, granted it was hard for Jacob to focus on anything but Alex at this point in time. Alex taking notice of where Jacob's mind was asked still trying to butter him up "See something you like?" "Oh yea..." Jacob said closing his eyes slowly picturing all of the naughty things clearer he would possibly be doing with Alex later. "Like what?" Alex asked still flirting heavily. Jacob too embarrassed to speak his ideas could only say "You will see" winking with a shy expression. "Aww, not that again" Alex said pouting faintly. "It will be worth it." Jacob winked with a more calm feeling. "Oh, someone is getting frisky" Alex giggled a little. "It is your fault!" Jacob laughed. "I am sure you will like what I have planned though" Alex said blushing brighter, easily seen by the illumination of the candles. "These smell wonderful, what scent are they?" Alex asked not being able to get enough of the flowery smell. "It is lilac, I always have adored the aroma this flower gives off, plus the purple is so beautiful, it is one of my favorite colors, maybe even my most favorite." Jacob said stuttering a little still focused on what Alex was wearing. "I will have to remember that then for future reference." Alex said smiling. "Are you enjoying yourself?" Jacob asked, his heart all a flutter. "With you I always am, I was having a lot of fun teasing you as well when you walked through the door." Alex giggled continuing "Looks like I know which of your buttons are easy to be pushed now huh?" Alex winked. "You are no fair you know that? You are so beautiful....stunning really! And...wow....you here....right in front of me like that.....that is just dirty play." Jacob said giggling a little waiting anxiously for Alex's response. "Mmm...I will show you dirty play." Alex tackled Jacob to the ground ripping at his shirt licking at his neck. N...no fair" Jacob said softly moaning from the sensitivity of his neck being pulled into play. "Come on Jacob, follow me to the bedroom." Alex said blushing bright looking deep into Jacob's eyes kissing him romantically helping him up off of the floor and walking hand in hand to their bedroom. Alex, soon after shutting the door started reconsidering and felt like something was off.

Months went by as the two grew closer, at least, that is what Jacob thought was happening. After their romantic encounter on their second night together Jacob vowed never to leave Alex's side, no matter, even though he had already planned not to leave. As the alarm rang the third time from pressing snooze Jacob finally sat up in bed rubbing Alex's arm smiling at the sleeping man of his dreams. No matter how many times he woke to Alex he never grew tired of it, he couldn't imagine it ever being different again.

As soon as Jacob was out of bed he went to do the laundry, trying to be as quiet as possible as to not wake sleeping beauty in the other room. Jacob thought back to that night that was so many months ago and he thought to himself how proud he was, that it was the love of his life that took his virginity and not some random person on the street. As he put a load of towels into the wash he heard a tired Alex behind him asking what he was doing.

"Oh hi there beautiful, did I wake you?" Jacob asked concernedly. "Nah...just the alarm went off again" Alex sounded very tired and was slurring his words. "Sorry I forgot to turn it off next time I will remember" "yea..." Alex said more alert like he needed to say something but couldn't quite figure out how to put it into words.

After the laundry was done and when Alex was more awake, Jacob went into the living room to sit and watch one of their favorite movies. Alex slowly approached with what appeared to be a deep regret in his eyes, sighing as he sat down next to Jacob. "Is something the matter sweetums?" Jacob asked freaking out over Alex, worried what was happening. "There is something I need to tell you Jacob...it isn't going to be easy.....for either of us." Jacob's heart sank, thinking of all the possible things that Alex could say next. "Look...you are a great guy but-"Alex gets cut off by Jacob "But what?! Whatever it is, tell me and I will change it!" Alex sighed heavily again, "You are a great guy, but I just am not in love you..." Time stood still for Jacob; did Alex really just say what he thought he said, did he just say he wasn't in love him? "Wh....What did you say?" Jacob asked praying he heard Alex wrong. "I said, I am not in love you...I just got so caught up in your attraction to me...I didn't think of anything else...." Jacob's heart sank lower than it already had, he felt himself grow cold, he felt his heart break, he felt and saw his world crumble around him. "I think you should just go...." Alex finally said. "Please....I love you Alex....don't do this....I love you....I gave myself to you! I would give you my life if I had to! PLEASE! Just don't say this is it..." "Please Jacob just go....." moments of silence passed as Jacob sat there thinking what to say or do next. "Please, whatever it is Alex, I can change....please just tell me!!!" "I SAID LEAVE JACOB!" Jacob sat there with tears welling up in his eyes, his heart burning in acid from sinking so low. "I don't understand..." Jacob said bawling. "What did I do?!" "Jacob....it isn't you.....it's me....I just....can't love you...." Jacob stood up walking to what used to be a shared room gathering his things not knowing anything else to do. As Jacob packed, Alex sat silent in the living room turning off the TV needing everything quiet. "Alex....I love you" Jacob said with all his bags packed hoping Alex would change his mind, Alex sat there, staring at the wall saying nothing.

Jacob drove to a friend's house hoping for comfort, not knowing what to do with himself, even contemplating ending everything right then and there. How could he live? He found his one true love....and that one love didn't love him back. His mind was a whirlwind of confusion on what to do. He wanted to go back to Alex's and demand an explanation, but at the same time he didn't want to see Alex. He knew Alex was his soul mate, he knew it whole heartedly, he didn't want anyone but Alex, no one else would compare.

Two months went by as Jacob tried to at least keep a friendship with Alex hoping to win his love. During those two months though, something was happening to Jacob, something that had ran in his family for generations. A disease was eating him from the inside out slowly devouring his internal organs, each day was bringing him closer to death.

A week later Jacob decided to go to the hospital, texting Alex the whole way there

Me: Ugh...I am not looking forward to this

Alex: I am sure everything will be fine, I am thinking of you

Me: Thanks....

Alex: If you need anything, even a shoulder to cry on I will be here, no matter what

Me: Yea....okay....

Alex: I mean it Jacob...

Me: Thanks..... I just hope this doesn't take too long....last time it took 3 hours

Alex: 3 hours?! Why so long?!

Me: Don't worry about it, nothing to be concerned about.

Alex: Please tell me?

Me: You'll see later

Alex: Not that again...

Me: I am just working with what you give me

Me: As you wish

After a 3 hour long Doctor visit Jacob returns home to relax knowing what fate had decided for him. Soon after hopping into bed and closing his eyes his phone goes off alerting him of a text. "Oh shit I forgot to text Alex back!" Jacob yelled in his head.

Alex: How did it go?

Me: It was fine...sorry I forgot to call you, just hectic junk you know?

Alex: Yea I understand

"No you don't" is what Jacob thought "You'll never understand..."

Me: I guess....all I know is I am ridiculously tired....

Alex: You should get some sleep, don't let me keep you up

Me: We have already established this, I live for you, I love talking to you, I love you"

Alex: ....I'm sorry

Me: Yea....so am I...

After hours of texting went by Jacob slowly drifted to sleep, crying himself to sleep as usual, wishing that he was looking into Alex's face as he went unconscious, wishing he could wake up to Alex again, everything still felt wrong, even after months of separation. He desperately needed Alex in his life, but Alex's words echoed and remained. Those words that destroyed Jacob, worse than any nuclear bomb could ever do, echoed in his head as he passed out. "I'm not in love with you"....

Months had passed, Jacob was laying ill on his bed, the disease had finally got to him. Knowing he only had a week left at best, he texted Alex one last time

Jacob: Hi.....

Alex: Hi.....how are you...you know..holding up?

Jacob: Ehh....(Thinking to himself: I still feel better now than after what you said) I am okay....listen....I don't have long Alex....

Alex:.....what do you mean?

Jacob: I didn't tell you the whole truth.....there is a disease that runs in my family....and no one has yet to survive it......this is my last week....

*Alex takes awhile to respond*

Alex: I am coming to see you.....just like you did me....

Jacob: No.....I remember you telling me you had a blind date today, I don't want to block off any connection

Alex: I don't care I am coming!

Jacob: I said I don't want to be a problem for you

Alex: didn't I say I don't care?! I AM coming to see YOU! The other guy can wait!

Jacob: Hun, I don't want to ruin your chances at love, I want you to be happy, go to this guy, I have a week that is enough time to see me before I am gone

Alex: Please......forget about the blind date.....I am coming to see you....end of discussion

Jacob laid there in bed reading each text, wanting to respond, but just not knowing how to. Just as Alex did, he stared blankly and silently, just thinking, until another text from Alex came

Alex: I am coming now

Jacob laughed, his darker side coming into play. Jacob thought to himself "Why does he care? He said he doesn't love me, so why should he worry about me? In a few days he will easily forget me and move on. A few more moments had passed before Jacob passed out dreaming of a happy life with Alex, growing old together, raising kids, holding his hand as he was on his death bed. The dream felt like an eternity.....the best eternity he believed anyone could ever or will ever have. He felt a feeling of someone's hand on his, picturing that it was Alex in his dream. What felt like a few short seconds had actually been many minutes in the real world. Jacob heard someone screaming his name in terror, the voice had a familiar tenderness to it, was it Alex? Was it his Grandma? Or was it God? He slowly awoke from the dream opening his eyes, blinking the sand out as best as he could, he saw a bright light behind a blurry figure. "I guess a week came sooner than it was supposed to." He thought to himself, the figure became clearer, it was Alex, holding his hands with tears in his eyes. Jacob smiled knowingthese would be his last moments on Earth but not just that he was with Alex for the last moments, just as he had dreamed. "Well hi there sleeping beauty" Alex said trying to lighten the situation through his tears. "Well hi" Jacob said. "Now I know it is true....you are an angel" Jacob continued. Alex smiled a little trying to cheer up and get as much of a responsive Jacob he could. "I am sorry I didn't text back Alex, I just felt so tired and weak....I don't even think I could hold my phone at this point." Jacob still trying to act like everything was fine and today was like any old day having a regular conversation with Alex. "I am sorry..." Alex said as he cried more. "Sorry?" Jacob asked perplexed "Why sorry?" "Why sorry?!" Alex responded a little angry "I am the one who did this to you!.....If I wasn't so stupid! If I just would've been as happy with you as you were with me none of this would have happened!" "Shh, it is alright Alex, you didn't do this to me, no one could have predicted this, not even those psychics who would say they could" Jacob responded trying to make Alex giggle at least a little. "There is only a one in one hundred chance this happens in my family and sure.....I might be that one.....but those days I had with you....They will carry on to my grave.....Those days we shared.....The nights..You made my life whole, you gave it meaning, even now, you are where I dreamed you would be.....holding my hand as I passed on to the other side." Jacob could clearly see Alex looking away trying not to show more of his tears, Jacob reached up and caressed his cheek gently pulling Alex to look back at him, keeping his hand on his cheek. "I love you Alex...the very first time I laid my eyes on you I knew that you were my one, even if you don't feel it yourself." Jacob slowly drifted away to sleep to weak to talk anymore or even have his eyes open. Alex panicked "NURSE! DOCTOR! EMT! SOMEONE!" "Jacob wake up! Look at me! Please! Look at me! Open your eyes!!!, GOD DAMNIT WE NEED SOMEONE NOW!" "come on don't go! Don't go Jacob! Please!!!!" Hours passed as Jacob remained in a comatose state, Alex stayed in the room, not even leaving for a sip of water, he remained fixated on Jacob not looking away, feeling empty and regretful. "Why did I have to say that....why...why why why!?" Jacob stirred a little as Alex quickly ran to his side. "Jacob?! Jacob?!, oh thank god......there you are....." "I saw him Alex, I asked him if I could say goodbye" Jacob said finally at peace. "Goodbye?.....no....you can't go....I need you.....please! You can't go....." Alex responded with tears exploding from his eyes. "Alex please..." Jacob placing his hand on Alex's "There is nothing that can be done, this is it for me....Just let me say what I have to say....please..." Alex nodded not able to hold back his tears. "I love you, I will always love you, you gave me the best gift anyone has ever given me. A companion, a lover, a best friend. Though I won't be here physically with you, I want you to know that I will always be here spiritually, I won't leave your side ever." Jacob slowly raises his hand placing it on Alex's cheek, thumbing away the tears. "Please don't cry, tears shouldn't stain a face as beautiful as yours" Jacob smiled "The only thing I regret is leaving your house that day....I should have stayed" Alex sniffled "It is my fault...none of thi-" Jacob cuts of Alex with a relaxed "Shh" "please let me finish Alex, I don't know how much longer I have to finish." Alex nods again this time more slowly not knowing what to do. "I want you to find him Alex, I want you to find the one who will give you the feeling of love that you gave me, and when you find him I want you to hold on to him tight....don't let him go...." Alex cuts of Jacob once more "But, I have found him.....I found you..." "Alex, please don't lie to yourself, you are only speaking under circumstances, I want you to find him.....for me." Alex again nodded crying harder. Jacob reached under his bed pulling out a box. "I know it is a little late....and possibly irrelevant but here...this is for you." Jacob said as he handed Alex a promise ring of his own. "I was going to give it to you that day you know......after what conspired I contemplated on pawning it off....but after all of this.....I want you to have something that you will remember me by....." Alex slid the ring on his finger looking down at it not knowing what to say. "I love you Alex" Jacob said with a weaker smile "but it is time for me to go.." "No....please don't go....I want you to stay....stay with me...." "Alex as I said....I will always be with you.....you are after all....my one...true....love...." Jacob's eyes slowly closed revealing peace at last. Alex grabbed his body shaking it violently hoping to bring him back just for a little while longer. "I LOVE YOU! Jacob! I LOVE YOU!!! Please! Don't leave me!!!! I need you with me!" Jacob's words echoed in Alex's head "I will always be with you.." Alexstopped shaking Jacob's lifeless body as he wailed falling on top of him hugging Jacob tightly "I love you! You better never leave me! You better keep your promise! Or I will kick your ass when it is my time, DO YOU HEAR ME?!" Alex sat there as the doctors rushed in to zap Jacob's body trying to get a pulse back but to no avail.....he was gone.

A few days later at his funeral, Alex took the stand doing his best not to cry as he read his final words to him "Jacob...I only him knew him for a short time...but to him it felt like an eternity..." Alex paused trying to think of what to say, looking down at his coffin. "Some day....I will join you, and we shall be together...just like you always wished....I love you Jacob.....I hope you are resting peacefully....." Alex looked up to the ceiling of the church then back down to the podium walking down the stairs and passed Jacob's coffin, placing his hand on the lid, silently whispering "I love you"

(Okay so as I was typing I thought I would do an Alternate ending for people that don't like sad endings, I myself included, and I thought I would also make this ending a little more....I don't know the word...maybe hopeful? So without further stalling....I present to you the happier ending)

***Alt Ending***

Alex sat there as the doctors rushed in to zap Jacob's body trying to get a pulse, Jacob started showing more color in his cheeks as he coughed a little, one of the doctor's exclaimed "We have a pulse!!!" Alex's eyes widened tears still flowing but not as much as before. Jacob coughed again as more life and color rushed back to his body. "Jacob?" Alex looked in disbelief. Jacob coughed a little more as his color was back fully, the doctor had a nurse rush to get a needle to do blood work as Jacob opened his eyes. "Where.....am I?" Jacob inquired. Alex walked back over to Jacob kissing him reaching for his hand. "You are with me.." Alex said smiling as he cried looking over to Jacob's family then looking back at Jacob. "And with your blessing....how about you stay with me..." Alex leaned down kissing Jacob passionately as he finished his sentence "forever..." Alex wraps himself around Jacob holding on to him. "I was afraid I had lost you.....don't ever do that to me again....." Jacob reached up wrapping his arms around Alex "I promise, I won't...remember...." Jacob grabs Alex's hand as their promise rings bands touch each other "forever."

A few years pass as Alex and Jacob are fitted for a tux, it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the birds were tweeting, the grass was growing lush and green. As each approached the alter, a smile on each one of their faces through the whole ceremony and after reading their vows, two phrases drifted on the wind. "I love you" and "I do".
