Ray note- Ok sorry for the long break, school has been keeping me away from the furry fandom. It's hard to keep writing stories and have school work to do at the same time. I haven't forgotten about you fans.

Intro- For many years, a series of strange howls echoed all across the state of Alaska. For many humans this seemed routine but for a select few it called out to them. These individuals were called Therians. The Therian's goal was to ultimately become the animal spirit inside them, but while many tried, none have ever found the path to total transformation. Most choose to live their life accepting that fact, but for one boy, who's dreams hold a strange meaning is about to discover the path to awakening the wolf inside him. Quite literally, his dream will become a reality.

A Wolf At Heart, A Therian Story

Dusk...night falls on the town of Anchorage, Alaska. A young boy named Aidan sat at his bedroom window, listening to the wind, waiting to hear the wolves howl as they do every night. It was clear and calm that night, an uncommon night for one who lives in Alaska. Aidan Sighs as he taps his fingers on the window frame, he had waited for two hours and was starting to wonder if they would howl that night.

His Patience was finally rewarded when the symphony of howls started to echo from all over the mountain side. The sound of dozens of wolves howling in unison was indeed a mystifying and breath taking experience, but for Aidan...meant something more. He never missed a single night of this and for some reason it was something subconscious that drove him to listen every night...something deep inside him telling him to keep listening for a sign. Aidan listened until the howls stopped and then gave a long sigh of satisfaction. After he closed the window he crawled into bed and fell asleep. Aidan always had strange and sometimes erotic dreams of wolves since he was a boy but never understood why, until he found the answer online. Once he found out what Therianthropy was he started to delve deeper into its more spiritual side and found himself. Ever since then he has tried to remember and write down every dream he could and for some reason they started to make sense...He saw that a story started to take shape. The individual dreams alone would seem baffling and seem like a random series of events but when put together it started to show some meaning. However what stood out from the rest of the dream was one repeated saying, " Keep Listening...my child." but for some reason he didn't hear it the night before and started contradicting his theory on the dream's importance.

It was mid night and Aidan was fast asleep when the dream started. Again the same dream as the night before; a long trail in a blizzard that was unrelenting. However this time the blizzard stops and the wind fades away as a white wolf suddenly appears out of the white mist that covers the path ahead of him. Aidan stands there as the wolf walks towards him and speaks in a very godlike feminine voice. " Hello Aidan."

Aidan was shocked, his dreams never were this real and vivid. He stood still unsure of what to say.

" I've watched you Aidan...I've seen you every night at the window of your den, listening to the howls of my dear children."

Aidan could not believe this, all the dreams never had meaning individually but this one was more like a vision. He simply replies " You...you have, why?"

" In you lies the spirit of one of my children...slain by the humans that to this day continue to ravage my land and slaughter my children in a pointless manor."

" What spirit?"

The wolf walks up to him then changes into something neither human or wolf but rather a mix of both species. The wolf then lifts her paw and places it onto his forehead.

" Let go of your humanity and let your mind go blank...only think of the howls you heard on this night."

Aidan closes his eyes and clears his mind as he starts to hear the howls in his mind. Just as he was doing that, the wolf then pushes into Aidan's mind and then the dream shifts. " Open your eyes Aidan."

When he opens them he sees that he is no longer inside his own body...he is now high above the town of Anchorage floating in mid air. The wolf suddenly appears in front of him and she smiles.

" look to your left and see who you truly are...deep inside."

Aidan looks to the left and sees a white wolf howling next to him then it fades away, back into mist.

" Be rid of the shell of humanity and come back home my son...where you belong."

Aidan smiles and agreed to the offer...it was what he always dreamed of...becoming a wolf.

" Very well my son, close your eyes and be born into the world...anew..."

Aidan closes his eyes then silence...all he can see is darkness and then he could hear a slight whimper and then it grew louder until it seemed right in front of him then he saw the darkness disappear. Aidan opened his eyes and was greeted by a white wolf licking his face.

" Welcome home my son."

"Where am I?"

" I think you already know the answer...your home my son...where you always belonged." Aidan looks around the cave, there were many other wolves in the cave and they were all looking right at him. He then lifts his " hand" and sees its paw instead and gasped.

" So...I'm a wolf now...?"

The female wolf laughs and licks his face again.

" No son...you were always a wolf...at heart."

"Am I still dreaming?"

"This is not a dream Aidan, It's real."

"So why did you choose me of all Therians?"

"Me as well as all of my daughters have deemed you worthy of becoming a pure wolf."

" Wait, sisters...aren't there any men among your pack?"

When Aidan asked that all of the wolves started to converse amongst one another. After the crowd settled down, one of the other wolves came up to Aidan.

"Well...most men are...corrupted to begin with so none have ever been blessed by our Mistress Gaia."

"Wait, your Gaia...the Earth mother and mother of nature; Gaia?"

"Yes, I am Gaia, the mother of earth and mother of its children."

"But....how...I mean how is it that you exist in the realm of mortals, your a celestial being after all?" "I exist in many forms, in many realms of life...like I was a spirit in your dreams for example."

"But yes, with me being here I risk breaching the realms of life."

Aidan was having a lesson that few mortals could comprehend, so naturally he was very confused.

"What do you mean; breaching the realms of life?"

"Well it is as you said, the creator of a realm of life can't actually manifest herself in that world...it could cause a realm to fuse with the realm of the creators and that could cause a disaster on a universal scale."

"I'm so confused..."

"Don't stress yourself, knowledge on that scale was never meant to be giving to humans...at least that was the only good thing I did to limit humanity."

"So are the other wolves here real wolves or people like me?"

The other wolves whisper to each other, " The boy still doesn't get it does he?...I think thats why Gaia only picked the Therian women up to this point."

"We are all wolves, you were just encased in the body of a human, but yes they were all at one point in a human body just like yourself." One of the wolves spoke up. " That is until Gaia came to us in our dreams and showed us the path to freedom."

"Errr, this is way too much for me to take in...its all so sudden!"

"Shhh...I think all you need is a good night's sleep and things will be a lot more clearer to you."

Gaia touches Aidan's forehead and then he nods off, he laid down and curled up into a little ball of white fur then falls asleep.

All the females were taken by the way the cute little boy slept...like a pup, they fell in love with his pure innocence.

"Well at first I had second thoughts about bringing a male into the light but now that I can see that untouched innocence of his, I think we made the right decision."

Gaia smiles at Aidan then drifts into her meditative trance, continuing her never ending search for pure Therians that are ready to become one with nature herself.

The day ends and the pack of wolves all howl in unison, in celebration of their newest pack member and first male; Aidan. The howling echoed all across the mountainside that night..... That night...was the first time Aidan had a peaceful sleep....

To be continued......

Note- just a heads up, the next chapter will be set 3 years later, when Aidan reaches maturity.

I hope you found this to be a great plot, I'm both a Therian and a furry and love to be both of them =3. Share your thoughts and opinions, I'd love to hear them and voting is great as well...
